DISCLAIMER: All things Harry Potter belongs to JKR. I absolutely adore her vivid imagination and the entire alternate world she crafted for magic, mischief and mayhem. If she would have me, I'd belong to her too.
He watched her skirt the edges of the crowd in the great hall. Her moonlight silver robes glimmered, almost unreal, shimmering and floating around her frail, barely-there frame. He felt like a predator, ugly, dangerous with claws, talons, fangs all razor-sharp and ready to rip fragile things, when faced with the reality of her whimsical, fragile loveliness.
On a mad, Gryffindor impulse he edged forward, pushing past the intoxicated teens dancing cheek to jowl, until he reached the punch bowl where he had parked herself. Cutting through the noise and the throbbing rancid noise they called band music, he could hear her humming a soft melody, eyes closed, face slightly tilted up, a small smile teasing those pale, unpainted pink lips.
She took his breath away, same as she did the very first time they met. Her loveliness was a visible, palpable ache that pushed past his rib-case, wrapping around his heart. Almost unaware of his own movements, aching with a need to belong utterly and completely to her, he reached out and ran a light finger on her roses and cream cheeks. Her eyes snapped open, silvery grey in some lights, and an incredibly pale blue of the summer skies in some others. So wide, so large, so very magnetic.
He smiled at her, in response to her surprised look and impish grin. Reaching down to take her hands in his, he led her out the hall, into the open snow-kissed lawn, gleaming in the cloudy night. Music floated through the open doors and windows, as he stopped, turned to face her, his arms snaking around her slender form; he had a question for her...
May I have the honour of this Waltz?...
With you.
Don't say a word
Let the eyes bespell
Let the music flow
Let rules drift away
In this one waltz
In my arms, my love.
Tonight
Let it be just you and me
And all that was meant to be.
Moon and the stars
Will dance in this room
In our eyes
If only you let me in.
Let the melody grow
Let the rules melt and flow
In this one waltz
In my arms, my love.
Our world watches, avid,
From behind twirling fans
And curious eyes, I know.
But sweet songs are born
From nights like these
When souls do meet
And hear the hearts beat.
Let our lives entwine
Set free a love divine.
In this one waltz,
In my arms, my love.
Tomorrows will wait.
Yestereens are mere dreams.
All our lives to this day and night
We were designed to begin
From this moment
To go on until the very end.
Let the saga begin.
Set your heart free from within.
In this one waltz
In my arms, my love.
Let our dance begin.
Story begins...
