Chapter 1:
My hands shook wildly. I was unprepared for what was to come. You see, today is Valentine's Day, the same day I'm proposing to Mario. "Relax," Daisy says. "Just follow your heart and calm down and everything will work out well." I grit my teeth, still trying to be calm, and soon, my heart stops racing. "There," Daisy comforts me. I grab the bouquet of red roses to give to Mario, with a sash on it that says his name in fancy writing. We exit our bedroom,
coming to the front of the castle. "Where is Mario?" I say. Daisy cocks her head to the side and says slowly, "I have no idea." At the same moment, I see Mario and Luigi walking to the castle, wearing fancy tuxedos while carrying bouquets.

It takes all my strength to resist bailing out of this now, trying to overcome my fears again. But as soon as I am calm again, I focus on reality clearly. "Hey, Peach." Mario says happily.

Sweating, I mumble, "H-hi, Mario. It's an honor to see your precence here today for our lovely Valentine's Day party." Mario smiles a sappy smile, while saying, "Peach, I'm always excited to come to the parties at the Mushroom Kingdom." Luigi smiles at Daisy, saying, "Yes, and I am quite honored to be here as well!" After we say our happy hellos, it is time to begin the party. Toadsworth is standing near the reception room. He greets me with a "Hello, Princess! Shall we begin the party?" I nod. "All right then," he says. "Open up the doors!"

As soon as they are opened, I'm greeted to a magical fantasy-as though it's one in stories.
The room is a lovely color of rose-gold. The chandelier glimmers with hundreds of lights and hearts dangling on it. In the windows are glass art pictures of rose-gold hearts. In utter awe, I can't stop myself from wandering to look at the beautiful work of art this room brings. Minutes later, we take our seats and the food comes. It's a heart-shaped piece of meat, and it's cut up evenly for all the guests. I can see more people have come-
Toad, Yoshi, Pauline, and so much more.

After the meal, I talk to Mario. "Uh...Mario," I say fidgeting with my fingers. "Yes, what is it Peach?" I blurt out, "I need to talk to you. Come outside." Mario nods. We head out,
and it's just as beautiful as it was inside. Sakura blossoms crowd the Mushroom Kingdom,
and fireworks are being released into the sky. We head to the courtyard, and I sit on the edge of the fountain. Mario sits next to me and says, "What did you want to talk about?"

I chew the side of my mouth, but then breathe out. "Uh, Mario, will you get mad if I say this?"

"Of course not, Peach," he says in sympathy. "You go on." I breathe heavily, sweating. This was it, this was the moment. Slowly I say, "Mario...I-I...love you...can you marry-" I cover my face. I can't finish. This was it. I blew it. I knew what was about to happen.
Mario would say that I was someone who messed up all the time, and that I couldn't even try to make my wedding request successful. But instead, he said, "I know what you're about to say. You want to marry me."

I cover my face, almost crying. Mario goes on, "In fact, Peach, I've felt the same way about you. Yes, I want to marry you." He gets down on his knee, and pulls out the most beautiful thing I've ever seen- a rose-gold ring with a pink heart-shaped diamond that was encrusted into it. I clench my heart, and with clumsy fingers, reach for the ring. Tears rolling down my face, I say, "Mario...I love this. Thank you...so much." He smiles. He inches closer to me, and I see his lips puckering. My eyes flutter as my lips sink into his lips as we kiss under that beautiful sakura tree, and thus, our tale as a happy relation-
ship begins.
