Chapter One: A Game of Hearts
No. This wasn't happening. Nino looked at Alya wide eyed. Alya looked at him equally. "Nino, I know what you are going to say. This isn't working any longer."
"But- Alya! What did I do wrong?" Nino begged.
"Nino, we're not teenagers anymore," Alya said. "Things change, feelings change. What didn't change is you. I've grown up, Nino. You got to learn to move on."
"Alya, babe! Please, reconsider!" Nino begged.
"No, Nino. I've given up, now it's your turn," Alya said. She grabbed her bag and walked away. No. No. No no no nonononononono.
This can't be the way it ends.
There was so much they hadn't done yet.
And more importantly- they hadn't even had their first kiss!
This day couldn't get any worse for Nino.
…
Marinette looked at Adrien, back at her letter, and then back at Adrien. This was what she felt, right? Adrien was her crush, right? No, not anymore. In her attempt to tell Adrien her feelings, the only thing she found was emptiness. Luka was out of the question. Chat Noir had stopped being her silly kitty. Adrien… Well, he- he was no longer Marinette's love-life. In fact, Marinette may not have a love life at all.
At least Adrien was happy with Kagami.
At least Marinette wasn't the only one who was playing the game of broken hearts.
Right?
AN: Guys, let's be honest here, Nino is seriously underrated. Not just that, so it the Ninonette ship. You guys remember Animan? Nino had a crush on MARINETTE. Alya was all, "He's a little brother!" And then they get locked in a cage together and are all lovey-dovey. I don't find that realistic. DJWifi has a very overrated stuff. I STAN NINO! I STAN MARINETTE! NINO IS AWESOM! #NINOPOWER! Please, give this story a chance.
