"What's it going to be Olivia? The red pill or the blue pill?"

Olivia looked at Jake's open hands. Could she really start over?

"Are my husband and kids going to be there?"

"Not as you know them."

"I can't choose."

"Red pill or blue pill?"

"Do I have to decide right now?"

"I'll give you 24 hours to choose your future."

Jake left the table and Olivia covered her face with her hands. Her family would still be in her new life. How though? What would be different? After a few minutes of sitting alone in the restaurant, she drove home.

"Mom I need help with my science project!" Karrington yelled.

"What's for dinner?" Blake asked.

"Livvie I don't have any clean socks." Fitz said.

Olivia slumped her shoulders and looked around at the piles of dirty laundry, dirty dishes and the volcano spewing lava on the kitchen table. This was her life. A Vermont stay at home mom. She still didn't know how she got here. She and Fitz were supposed to be a power couple in DC. Yet, somehow she ended up in Vermont cooking, cleaning, barefoot and pregnant again. It wasn't until a few days ago, that she imagined her life being different. Jake Ballard sat at her table while she was rearranging her schedule for the week. Blake had basketball practice, and it was her week to volunteer for Karrington's girl scout meeting. She hated selling cookies and discussing recipes with the other moms.

He knew things that it was impossible for him to know about her life with Fitz. Now, he was giving her a chance to live a different life. He couldn't give her any details until she took the red pill. Fitz threw a rolled pair of dirty socks at her and let her know that he was working late tomorrow. The stinch of Fitz dirty socks and the nausea from her pregnancy was unbearable.

"Okay."

Fitz smiled and kissed her before pouring himself a glass of scotch. Olivia knew he wouldn't see her tomorrow. At least not like how they were now.
