She didn't know how it happened. She had been so careful. At least she thought she did. But Hawkmoth found out nonetheless. He found out who he was, and he was after her. She had to run, to hide. She couldn't be in pairs, she needed to leave.

Rain poured down as she ran to the one place she knew would help.

Soaked to the bone, Marinette Dupain-Cheng stormed into Master Fu's house, breathing hard. "Master we have a big problem!"

The old man gave her a nod as if he already knew what happened. Motioning for her to sit down he spoke; "Yes we do, don't we,"

Apparently, he did know.

"Master this bad! Like really bad! What do I do? And what about Chat Noir? How am I supposed to explain this to him and-"

"Listen Marinette," He spoke over her, "you have to go into hiding, for now, Not just as Marinette but as Ladybug as well," He tapped his chin, planning their next move, "We can help Chat Noir from the sidelines until the identity of Hawkmoth is found, We can't tell him anything, it'll be too dangerous, for now, you can stay here,"

At that moment Marinette burst into tears. Her life as she knew it was beginning to change.

"Dude wheres Mari?" Nino Lahiffe asked his girlfriend, who was angrily staring at the door.

"You know, she's late a lot, she probably got caught up with something," Adrien Agreste said.

Alya Cesaire gave the blonde boy a stern look, "It's been 3 hours since she said she was leaving her house, it does not take 3 hours to walk here,"

Nino ran a hand up and down her back soothingly, "It's fine babe, she'll be here,"

Marinette's classmates decided they were gonna throw a birthday party for one of their friends; Lila Rossi. Everyone knew Marinette and Lila didn't get along so when Marinette agreed to help they were shocked.

Lila had mentioned to Adrien how much she loved the library but hated going there alone, they took advantage of that and had the blonde model ask her on a study date, that's where they were gonna surprise her. Marinette was supposed to bring the cake since her parents are bakers but seeing as she wasn't there Lila might not have cake for her birthday.

"She's gonna be here any minute guys!"

Alya huffed, angry at her best friend, but not angry enough to ruin her other friend's party. After shooting Marinette another text they all got into their positions.

Alya: Marinette where are you?

Alya: Hello?

Alya: Girl I swear if your bailing last minute I'm gonna be pissed

Alya: Scratch that, Im already pissed

Alya: I understand you don't like Lila and your jealous of her and Adrien's relationship, but this low we were counting on you.

The party was a success. Besides the cake. Lila was pretty upset when Alya told her Marinette didn't show up with the cake. She had run out of the library crying making the whole class angry at Marinette. The whole class but a few. Adrien, Chloe, and Nino suspected something was wrong, unlike their classmates who instantly jumped to the conclusion that Marinette ditched them, they believed something was truly wrong. Even Chloe, who hated Marinette.

Alya: Are you happy? I hope you are! Cause Lila's not! Her birthday was ruined because of you! If she gets akumatized that's on you and I hope you're guilty.

Alya immediately went to the Dupains Bakery after the party, going full reporter on her best parents. Surprisingly, The two bakers had no idea where the daughter was. They said she did indeed leave the house with the cake at the time she was supposed to.
That's when the worry set in.

Her parents, plus her classmates were calling Marinette at lightning speed. By now no one had seen the girl in almost five hours.

Alya: Im sorry I flipped out that wasn't cool, but are you okay?

Nino: Hey Mari. Everyones pretty worried where are you?

Adrien: Marinette are you alright? No one has heard from you in five hours. Your parents are going crazy and are even thinking about calling the police.

*6 hours*

Alya: Marinette Dupain-Cheng I swear on my mother's life if you're messing with me I'll kill you myself.

Alya: Did your phone die? Is there an Akuma I don't know about? What's going on?

*8 Hours*

Alya: Where are you Marinette?

Adrien: Where are you Marinette?

Nino: Where are you Marinette?
