"Alrighty everybody, the producers and I had another meeting about the general plot for this season now that a few episodes have passed," Chris announced to a plane full of World Tour contestants. "Alejandro and Heather, the audience is LOVING your dynamic, both of you keep playing the game, and when either one of you guys are eliminated or during the finale, THAT'S gonna be the big onscreen kiss. DJ, the animal curse…"
Chris rambled on and pointed to a few other contestants, but Tyler had tuned the host out. He'd really hoped for a bigger role this season because he felt completely forgotten and unnoticed.
"Tyler, the audience wants to see more of you, so just try to interact with your teammates some more. Great, we'll start filming again tomorrow. McLean, out."
Tyler looked up at his name being mentioned. He did feel a bit lonely with Lindsay being on a different team and most of his own teammates already being good friends, so that left Alejandro. He seemed like the lone wolf type, but Tyler hoped Alejandro wouldn't mind his company.
That night in first class, Tyler was drifting off to sleep as Alejandro was sneaking out. When Alejandro looked around first class to make sure no one noticed him leave, Tyler pretended to be asleep. Curious as to what his teammate was up to, Tyler was now feeling more awake than before.
It was about an hour later when Alejandro returned, his hair messed up and his usually half unbuttoned shirt now fully unbuttoned. No doubt he was off somewhere with Heather, practicing for "the big onscreen kiss," Tyler thought sarcastically. He'd never gotten a big moment like that like Duncan and Courtney or even Beth and Brady. Was he really that much of a boring side character?
Tyler let his sleep deprived mind wander into scenarios of him being the one to kiss Heather in the World Tour finale, of him being the main character.
Heather was definitely the kind of person to be passionate and forceful in love. Tyler was no stranger to passionate; he and Lindsay were making out on the sink counter tied up in a yo-yo by the fifth episode for goodness sake.
Now the forceful part Tyler didn't have much experience in. He and Lindsay had always been sweet and gentle with each other. Neither of them ever bossed around the other. The idea of Heather ordering him to take off his clothes and do what she wanted was surprisingly thrilling to Tyler.
His thoughts were disrupted by Alejandro shuffling around and changing into his pajamas. He was shirtless but already wearing his pajama pants. Tyler couldn't help but notice the angry scratches on Alejandro's back. He winced, that must've hurt, he thought as he remembered the way Heather sliced open the giant apple with her nails. Tyler got injured enough already, so maybe being with Heather wasn't the best idea.
Tyler watched as Alejandro put on his shirt, his muscles flexing as he stretched his arms. Perhaps if Tyler was the one doing the scratching…
Tyler's mind went foggy as he now imagined kissing Alejandro in the finale, everyone else clapping and cheering for him.
The sound of Alejandro sinking into one of the first class seats pulled Tyler back to reality where he knew he could never be the main character on Total Drama. He'd have to settle for his imagination and dreams. Tyler was very much looking forward to sleep.
