This is my first fanfiction and I wrote it out of pure boredom. English isn't my first language, so there are probably a few mistakes here and there. I used some little things out of other universes such as fate or medaka box.
Constructive criticism is appreciated.
Now have fun and enjoy the chapter!
At the back of the classroom, a boy, Sia, gazed down at the courtyard with an uninterested look on his face. His shining, yellow eyes were following the, rather infamous, trio that was chased by a bunch of girls. He found it rather interesting how the boys didn't learn from their mistakes, but other than that he couldn't care less about them. In Fact, he couldn't care less about the situation that he was in. Hell, he wasn't even supposed to be here. After all, Sia Gran was dead.
Sia should've been dead. In his last life, he was a scientist, researching the root of the universe, Akasha and in the end, he died because of it. No, rather he died because he reached it. He was able to track down what the root exactly was and all that at the age of 25. Of course, he wouldn't be able to do it alone. There were many other scientists in the past who were also researching about the Root but at the end of the day, their work was classified as nothing but the fantasy of a few crazy scientists. However, something about the Root just made Sia obsessed with it. It almost was like he was drawn in by the fact that something like that could exist. If it wasn't for that fact, he doubted that he would've researched something like that.
In his last life, Sia lived alone, with no family or any important friends that he could remember. This was something that didn't change even in this life. Sia was alone when he died. And he couldn't care less about it. What he saw before his death...was rather unnerving, to say the least. The root wasn't actually something physical. It was more like a concept that was brought to reality. Reaching it would mean that you would gain an infinite amount of knowledge. And that knowledge was also the reason why he died. His brain was overloaded with an infinite amount of information, which he couldn't comprehend. Just thinking about it gave him a headache. Even then, he was actually quite satisfied with his death. Dying while achieving his one and only goal.
So why…was he still alive? One day, he just woke up in this body. It should've been his body, but it isn't. He woke up in a body that looked like his younger self. And that wasn't even the most absurd thing. Sia Gran actually existed in this world, dream or whatever it was. It was like his past life never existed. If it wouldn't have been for the fact that he can't remember anything about his supposed life, he would've been convinced that he just woke up from a dream. A very weird and unnerving dream, but a dream nonetheless.
Anyways, it seemed like he was some kind of student at the kuoh academy. It was an all-girl school in the past, which also explained the reason why there were so many girls in this school. Not long after my arrival, he realized a few things. The first thing was that Sia wasn't well-liked by the boys in this school. They kept "insulting" him as a pretty boy or something of that sort, which actually wasn't very insulting at all if you really think about it. The second thing that he realized was that the females kept staring at him for some odd reason. He didn't know if this body did something stupid in the past but all the stares crept him out. He couldn't understand the reason why they stared at me at all.
Emotions were never his field of expertise. It doesn't mean that he doesn't have any emotions. He is a human after all. But emotions were something that he kept locked up in a high-security room in his brain. Sia could probably deduce what a person is thinking if he really wanted but he could never be a hundred percent sure about it.
His thought process was interrupted by the ring of the school bell, which signaled that the school had ended. Without wasting even a single second he packed his school supplies and went home, ignoring the girls that tried to talk with him.

It was a Sunday afternoon. Sia went out to get some ingredients for dinner. He was just thinking about an interesting book about mythological creatures that he just finished as he walked to the grocery store. In the corner of his eye, however, he recognized something that he thought wasn't possible. He saw one of the perverted trio, Issei going on a date with a beautiful girl with long, silky black hair. He chuckled lightly at that impossibility, before following them out of pure curiosity.
Sia wasn't actually curious about the date itself, but he had a feeling that something stupid would happen and he wanted to witness it with his own eyes. And he was right. It just wasn't what he actually expected. The couple entered a park, as Sia followed them at a safe distance. A few minutes later they sat down on a bench. It was quiet for a while. Somehow too quiet. He looked around and realized something. They were the only ones in the park right now, which was very suspicious. This whole situation didn't feel right at all. And then that girl said something that made Sia's blood in his vein freeze.
"Would you die for me?", she asked in a mischievous tone. At least that's how it sounded to Sia. In Issei's ears that must've sounded very seductive. That was it. He had to flee right now. That girl isn't normal. And he was right, as two black wings spread out from her back. Before Issei could even answer he was already impaled by a spear made out of light.
Sia's heart kept beating faster. It felt like his heart was going to explode. However, he must calm down. Panicking in such a situation would make everything just worse.
Sia closed his eyes as he breathed out quietly. First, he has to analyze his situation. Issei was killed by a strange woman with wings. She was obviously not human, which would mean that she is some kind of mythical creature. The wings were made out of feathers, which would most likely mean that they are angel wings. The fact that she uses some kind of light spears would support that kind of theory. However, her wings were black. In the books that he read angel wings were always white. Black wings would mean that she probably is a fallen angel.
Sia shook his head. It wasn't fair. There was no way that he survives against a fallen an-
Wait. She still hasn't realized that Sia followed them, which means that, as long as he doesn't move, she wouldn't be able to find him. He just had to be quiet.
And of course - once again - life wasn't fair. It just wasn't. For some unknown reason, the branch that he was standing on the whole time decided to snap at this moment. Sia had a feeling that the universe hated him, probably because he discovered its secrets. Sia was okay with dying. He just didn't want to die in a painful way like the boy that was bleeding out on the ground right now.
The fallen angel looked in his direction. He could feel how the atmosphere changed drastically.
"You dare to follow me, human?", she asked in disbelief as Sia could feel how she looked him directly in the eyes. Even from a few dozen meters distance, he could feel how she glared at him. Damn it. He was absolutely fucked. His fight or flight reaction activated itself as Sia did something absolutely stupid. However, there wasn't really anything else that he could've done in that situation so he just ran as fast as he could. Of course, he couldn't outrun an fucking angel but he couldn't fight one either.
Just a few seconds later he was also impaled by a light spear. That was an interesting experience.

A few seconds later Sia also died. And then he woke up. In a completely white room with nothing but two chairs in the middle of the room. Chairs made out of oak. Somebody sat on the chair that was pointed directly towards him and the other chair. Well, in this case, "somebody" was not the right word for the person sitting on the chair. It was Sia...but it was not him at the same time. The older Sia from his past life sat on the chair opposite of him.
"Take a seat.", he said calmly, while summoning a cup of tea out of nowhere. A little smirk could be seen on his face. Sia just stared at him with a stunned expression. His brain was trying to comprehend everything that just happened.
"So I was just killed by a fallen bitch. And now I'm standing in a white room where I can watch my past self, that is actually older than my current self, drink tea?", he asked no one particularly. A few seconds of silence reigned in the room. The older Sia just pointed his finger at the chair that was in front of him. After a few seconds of silence, the original Sia just shrugged, as he sat down, "Makes sense."
"Doesn't it?", the older Sia chuckled lightly as he said that. However, that chuckle died down quickly as his face turned serious, "You probably have many questions right now, but let me make one thing clear before we start. I am not you. I just used this form to let you talk with someone you're familiar with… I didn't expect that you were that lonely…it is rather pitiful."
Was that an insult? Sia was sure that it wasn't, but for some reason, it hurt hearing something like that coming from his own mouth. He decided to ignore that painful comment and raised an eyebrow in response, "If you're not me, then who are you?"
The other Sia just smiled lightly at my question, as he put the cup of tea away...in something that seemed like a pocket dimension. Great, probably another overpowered being that probably wants to steal his soul. He was already stressed enough as it is, however, Sia didn't show any of that as he calmly analyzed his other self. His other self leaned forward and stared him directly in the eyes, "You should know who I am. You are the only person that knows what I am."
Sia frowned lightly. The yellow eyes that he was staring into, looked far older than it was supposed to look. Sia gasped lightly as he realized who he was talking to. Sia's eyes widened a little as he opened his mouth to speak. However, only a light whisper came out of it, "Akasha."
Akasha nodded lightly, as he leaned backward again. His body relaxed, as he calmly closed his eyes, while pinching his nose, "You know, the Root of Akasha is something that should be impossible to reach. However, you've done it."
A few seconds of silence reigned in the room. None of them said anything. Sia just stared at Akasha, while he seemed to think about something. He gulped slightly as he thought about the words that Akasha just said. It should've been impossible...but why did he manage to do it then?
"Did I do something wrong?", Sia asked carefully. It was a genuine question, as Sia didn't know if he did something wrong. His mind was a mess. It felt like some fat ball of junk was replacing his brain, interrupting every thought process that Sia starts. However, Akasha just shook his head lightly.
"No, it was my own mistake. Or rather you are the mistake. You shouldn't even exist in the first place.", Akasha stated calmly, his gaze hardened as he stared Sia directly into his eyes, "Listen, Sia, I'm only going to say this once. Everything is already determined by fate. And in this case, Sia Gran shouldn't even exist. I was getting careless and accidentally created something that shouldn't exist. And that person then managed to find out what the root is because of our connection. I am more or less like your creator."
"In the sense that you've created me because of a mistake?", Sia asked with a deadpan expression. Akasha just chuckled lightly in response. Sia sighed deeply. To think that he wasn't supposed to exist in the first place. Kind of shocking, but he could live with that. But wouldn't that also mean that he has to be erased? He was a being that shouldn't exist. Dying was one thing, but just getting erased, as if he never existed in the first place? For some reason, he didn't like that idea. Sia's eyes widened a little at that thought. Akasha seemed to have realized what he was thinking and just smiled gently.
"However, I won't get rid of my mistake. I made it and I should learn to accept it.", Akasha smirked lightly as he said that. Sia sighed in relief. Still, that couldn't be everything. Why was he still alive? It was his fault, so why did Akasha revive him?, „In fact, your existence is very amusing to me. You're something that even I can't predict, a complete Wildcard. I'll be a little bit selfish and watch your struggles, as you try to be a background character."
Ah, that was the reason. He still died though, so why is Akasha talking about the future? However, Akasha didn't stop talking. "Of course, sending you into a new dimension without a little gift would be rude of me. So I gave you a little gift.", he said as he gently tapped on my forehead with his fingers. A bunch of information flooded into his head. A crooked smile appeared on Akasha's face, while I just frowned in disbelief.
"The ability to turn anything into nothing.", Akasha crossed his legs as his body began to relax. He tilted his head a little, which made him look like a mix of a confused kid and a serious adult, "This gift should be enough, I guess? Of course, there are a few limitations, such as the fact that turning people into nothing would be way too difficult because reality itself would try to correct the erasure of these people. Turning people into nothing means that you erase their whole existence after all, which would result in the effect that everything that they've done would also be erased. This stuff is pretty boring, so let's just skip all that. "
Sia just nodded in response. The ability denies certain aspects of reality, by turning something into nothing. In other words. That shit is pretty broken. But wouldn't that also mean that he could deny his death? Even after his death, it seemed like his consciousness drifted into this empty, white room. If he can still use the ability, he would be able to revive himself.
"You guessed it.", Akasha said, as if he read Sia's mind. He didn't even look at him. He just looked at the wall, thinking about something. Sia nodded slowly and closed his eyes.

And then he woke up. In the real world. His wound was gone and so was the fallen angel. He looked around, only to discover the gruesome scene of the impaled teenage boy lying in a puddle of blood. It seems like not much time has passed in the real world, as nothing changed. Then he remembered. The boy, Issei Hyoudou was still dead. Maybe he could use his ability to revive him.
However, that wasn't needed, as a red magic circle appeared a few inches from the ground and someone stepped out of it. Teleportation? Magic? Sia was not surprised by it. After all, he was just killed by a fallen angel and revived himself using an ability that was given to him by the root of the universe itself. Magic wasn't something that he should be surprised about. The circle disappeared and Sia narrowed his eyes, trying to recognize the figure that was stepping out of the circle.
It was Rias Gremory, the school's number-one beauty, as well as one of Kuoh Academy's Two Great Ladies alongside Akeno Himejima. Sia would've almost asked himself why she would be here, as he remembered something. Some weird bullshit with human-killing fallen angels was going on in this town. Rias was probably also a part of it.
She didn't even notice him and went directly to Issei's body. She said something, but Sia couldn't understand a single word. To him, everything just sounded like gibberish. A few moments later, she got up and left Hyoudou's body laying down on the bench he had died in and looked around, fortunately, she still didn't notice Sia, who was watching the scene before him unfold.
Sia shook his head in frustration. He was too tired for this right now. Sia just wanted to go home. However going home, without Rias noticing him would be difficult. Maybe he should try to use his ability?
Teleportation seems possible in this world, so if he turns the space between him and his home into nothing he would massively shorten the way to his home... or he would pull his home to him and kill many people while doing that. No, that was not an option. What if he erased the sound of his footsteps? No, that was still way too risky, as Rias could still see him if he was careless.
Let's think about it. Teleportation would be the fastest and safest way to arrive at his home. Teleportation is essentially a way to travel instantaneously. Wait. Instantaneously? What if he erases the time it would take him to arrive at his home? The effect would still be there, he would just erase the cause, the traveling. So, how did he use his ability again?

The next day, Monday, Sia came to the school and everything seemed normal at first. He expected that there would at least be some announcement about the death of one of its students, but there was nothing. Either way, He kept his head down and went in the direction of his class as normal.
While passing through the floor he heard Matsuda's voice laughing. Sia almost grimaced at the thought that the boy still didn't know that he lost one of his only friends yesterday. Then he heard something that shouldn't be possible.
"She wasn't a dream! Why won't you guys believe me?!" Issei's voice made Sia's blood freeze. How was he still alive?
Something is not adding up. He frowned, crossing his arms while looking down. Ah, he almost forgot. Rias appeared out of nowhere and probably revived him with some special power.
Speaking of the devil, Rias Gremory arrived out of nowhere. He didn't know what to say to a girl that appeared out of nowhere, teleporting to the park where Hyoudou was killed. Actually, he doesn't know what to say to almost anyone he meets, so that wasn't anything special.
"Is something wrong?" Sia realized that he was staring at her, and blocking her passage.
"No, I was just thinking about something." He shook his head lightly, as he moved out of the way. However, she didn't take the opportunity and just kept looking at him.
She too seemed to be thinking about something. Sia just pretended like he didn't notice that and ignored her. His mind began to race immediately. Did she notice him yesterday? No, that shouldn't be possible, as Sia instantly went home, after finding the right mental trigger to activate his ability, a gunshot. Simple, but it works.
"Do I have something on my face?", Sia asked, trying to hide his nervousness under a deadpan expression, "You're staring at me for quite some time now."
"No, I just thought I saw you near the central park yesterday." She shrugged, as she went past him, "It was probably someone else."
Sia hummed in agreement. He took the opportunity to get away from this situation and went to the classroom.

"I'm telling you, something is wrong with this guy!" Rias snorted as she crossed her arms like an angry child. "Every time I try to talk to him, he just replies with a single sentence at most!"
"Is that so?", Sona asked her, not expecting an answer, "There is a reason why the girls call him the cold knight of kuoh, you know?"
Rias raised an eyebrow in response to that statement, "Cold knight of kuoh? Why do people call him that?"
"Oh, you don't know? You know that he is the second most popular boy at school, right?", Rias nodded at that question, "The girls call him that because he always hides his emotions under a mask of apathy. Though most girls are convinced that he has a very kind side, that isn't important at this moment."
"But there's also another unnerving thing about him.", Rias said as she crossed her legs. She leaned forward and her face turned more serious, "I can feel faint traces of strange energy coming off from him."
Sona raised an eyebrow in response. For a few seconds, nobody in the room said anything. There was complete silence in the student council room. Sona coughed lightly before she said anything, "So you think that he is a sacred gear user?"
Rias shook her head. No, that wasn't it. The energy that came off from him didn't feel like a Sacred gear. It felt different, but neither she nor Akeno knows what it is. It is neither holy nor demonic, it's a neutral energy.
"No, it is something else."
"Something else?"
Rias nodded in response, "Neither holy nor demonic, but it isn't a sacred gear either. Anyways we should watch out for him."
Sona nodded in agreement, but she didn't say anything.
"Anyways, I'm going to let Koneko observe him for now. We don't know much about him after all."

Sia likes being alone. He likes having privacy, which is also the reason why he always has lunch on the rooftop. Alone.
That was also the reason why it annoyed him that a certain white-haired female was following him. He doubts that she even tries to hide the fact that she is following him. After all, the mascot of Kuoh, Koneko Toujou, is sitting next to him right now, staring at his lunch. It was almost like she was pressuring him without even saying a single word.
"So," Sia stopped eating, as he turned his face to Koneko while gesturing to his lunchbox, "do you want to try it?"
Koneko nodded, as she stole the lunchbox out of his hands. Sorry lunchbox, you were a great friend.
"So, why are you following me?", Sia didn't even expect an answer, as he already knew the reason why. He just tried to act like he didn't. He is probably under surveillance or something like that.
Koneko didn't answer, as expected. Even though she didn't say anything it still kind of annoyed him. Was this how talking with him feels like? He began to feel sorry for all the people he annoyed. None of them said anything. There was silence, a comfortable silence, but still unnerving nonetheless.
Sia was crying inside. He just wanted to live a peaceful second life. Barely hearable he whispered something, more to himself than to anyone else, "I'm sure that the Universe is a sadist."
