A/N well, what do you do when you've never seen the show that you're writing about? You write about it anyway because you want to that's what. Anyway, Animaniacs? Since when? Well, I went down the rabbit hole and haven't come back up. I've barely seen an episode of the reboot or the original show because in my country Amazon Prime is a bitch and doesn't let me watch it for free... And I don't wanna get my iPad loads of viruses, so I'm kinda stuck. All I know is they don't have parents, and the other thing I know is that Yakko is my favourite, because he's a theatre kid. And he's a big protective boy of his babies! Dot, oh my God Dot is adorable! She's so cute! Anyway (I really need to stop saying that lol)
Since I barely know anything about the characters, besides them not having parents to my knowledge. I wanted to do a simple fanfiction that incorporates one of my favourite song is from my childhood. 'My mother' originally performed by The Chipettes in the 1987 movie 'The chipmunk adventure' go watch it it's great! There is one scene in the movie that made me bawl my eyes out. The Chipettes (Britney) receive a gift which is a baby penguin. Eleanor, instantly drawn to the penguin. Wants to bring back the baby to his mom. Which, just like the Warner siblings, they don't have a mother either. A couple of scenes later, they're flying towards their next destination, Britney wants to get something to eat from the 'cooler' where Eleanor has kept the baby penguin. They have a slight argument and after a while of convincing, Britney agrees to go with them to Antarctica to reunite the baby with his family. (I'm really sorry I had to explain that because I wanted some context) as they're flying the baby gets sick and doesn't want to eat, Eleanor tries to feed the baby something but it doesn't take it. And then, and then! Eleanor breaks out into the most emotional song of my entire life! And she actually gets the Fricking lead! And oh my God this song is beautiful!
And thus, I'm making the Animaniacs do the same! (Again, I'm really sorry for boring you with that stupid explanation but I don't care)
Eleanor as Wakko
Jeanette as Yakko
Britney as Dot
Enjoy!
The Warner siblings Yakko, Wakko and Dot, were sleeping in their balloon. They were trying to go around the world in less than 80 days, but after a certain snobby Prince captured them and forced their youngest sibling to be his bride. The Warner siblings were now dressed in their previous countries native clothing.
Dot had received a gift from the native people, she was expecting it to be diamonds and rubies, but to her unfortunate surprise, instead there was a baby penguin inside. Which Wakko had instantly taken a liking to. He gently picked up the baby penguin and promised it he wasn't going to hurt it, as he was holding the baby penguin he noticed that it had a heart shaped locket around its neck. Opening the locket, revealed that the baby penguin had a family who he missed so much. Afterwards Dot interrupted the wholesome moment saying that they needed to get their dolls and get out of here. Yakko, being the oldest, opted to go with her. After trying to 'charm' snakes they finally got the dolls they needed. Now they were in midair off to the next destination.
Dot woke up the next morning, stretching, looking at the cooler.
"Yakko? Could you please pass me something to eat? "She sleepily asked, Yakko sleepily nodded. "Sure... "He said sleepily, going over to the cooler. Wakko Heard his older sibling move to the cooler, he instantly got up scrambling to the cooler. "Don't do it Yakko!" He cried out, causing the older Warner sibling to look confused, and the youngest to look pretty peeved.
"When it comes to food Wakko, you're awfully selfish! " Dot remarked sassily.
"Dot seriously, I think you're the one that's being selfish. Wakko clearly told me not to open the cooler, so I'm not going to."
Her big brother replied, already knowing what was actually inside the cooler. Not liking this the younger Warner sibling pushed past her older brother and opened the cooler.
"Hewwo!" The baby penguin chirped. Waving its tiny wing at Dot. Dot gasped, looking at her middle brother with a mix of anger confusion and fear in her facial expression. "A penguin?! You're going to eat this penguin?! "Hearing this, the penguin head underneath the nice cool ice. Yakko facepalmed. " don't be ridiculous Dot!" He shouted, clearly visibly annoyed. "We'd never do that!" Wakko cleared his throat, causing the youngest and oldest Warner siblings to look at him. "We've got to get this little guy back to Antarctica, "he said, before turning to them and whispering in his youngest sister's ear. "He'll die if we don't! "
Hearing this, made the eldest sibling shocked. But again, the youngest interrupted the moment. "And how do you suppose we do that Wakko? Animal express? "She exclaimed annoyed. The middle child looked at her. "No! I thought we could take him... "He said, the last part in a whisper. "And lose our progress?! Yakko, Will you please talk some sense into your brother? " Dot asked annoyed, as she folded her arms glaring at the baby penguin, who was still hiding in the ice.
Yakko interlaced his hands with one another, looking uncharacteristically nervous. "He's right Dot... he'll die if we don't get him back... " Dot looked at the boys as though they were crazy. "You're both crazy! "She exclaimed, turning to the baby penguin who had now emerged himself back up to the surface from underneath the ice. "I'm sorry, but we're talking about $100,000 and, well... Uh." Dot paused, seeing the baby penguin produce sweat, which was pouring off him. The younger sibling turned to the older two, looking at them guiltily. "He doesn't look very good Wakko..." she whispered in a small voice. The middle child looked at her, very annoyed. "I told you! "He exclaimed. Dot turned to her oldest sibling, who looked at her sadly. "Come on sis... You're not like that... You should help us bring him home... "Her older brother suggested, wrapping an arm around her and giving her a hug.
Dot sighed, looking back at the dying baby penguin and then back at her siblings who had a pleading look in their eyes. "Alright, how do we get to Antarctica...? "The boys lit up, immediately hugging their youngest sister. "I knew you'd come around... "The oldest Warner whispered.
Now the Warner siblings were now on a crate, Wakko in the middle with the youngest and the eldest either side of him, as he held the baby penguin in his arms which was wrapped in a purple like blanket, as he tried to give it some birdseed.
" just one little bite for uncle Wakko..." Wakko said to the baby penguin, as he tried to Get the baby to eat the bird seed, which he tried but couldn't eat it. He made a noise of pain as he shook his head. The Warner siblings looked worried, Dot Feeling even worse because they couldn't get him home any sooner.
"He's getting worse... " Yakko spoke quietly.
"What'll we do?" Dot asked turning to her middle brother, who looked down at the penguin.
"He needs his Momma Dot, she'll know what to do..." Wakko said quietly. Looking at the baby penguin again, nuzzling his nose against him, looking up and taking a deep breath beginning to sing.
"It's hard to remember
A summer or winter
When she hasn't been there for me..." Wakko sang, as the youngest and oldest looked at him sadly. Remembering that they didn't have parents of their own.
"A friend and companion
I can always depend on
My mother
That's who I mean..." he sang softly. Dot was over at the side of the balloon, feeling bad that she made the baby penguins suffer for longer. She too started to sing.
"I've taken for granted
seeds that she planted
She's always behind every thing..."
Dot sang sadly. Dot barely remembered her mother, she died when she was just two years old so she didn't get to spend much time with her, like her older siblings did. Yakko had been standing there partly through her singing, knowing that she didn't mean to be mean to the baby penguin. He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close. He remembered the most things about their mother and father, he remembered what they looked like, what they smelt like, what they sounded like. What perfume his mother uses, he remembered their eyes, and how loving they were. So it wasn't a surprise for him to feel tears streaming down his cheeks as he also started to sing, to reminisce over his mother and comfort his younger sister.
"A teacher a seeker
A both arms outreacher
My mother
That's who I mean..." Yakko sang softly, hugging his sister tightly who learnt into the embrace, and had a few tears of her own shed, as her Big Brother kissed her forehead. Something she barely remembered her mother and father doing to her all the time. Back with the middle child and the baby penguin, he began rocking him back and forth continuing to sing
"Wish I could slow down
The hands of time
keep things the way they are
If she said so
I would give her the world
If I could... I would
My love and my laughter
From here ever after
Is all that she says that she needs..." he sounds softly as his siblings joined him, once again either side of him. The youngest hugged him on the right while the eldest held him close on the left. All 3 Warner siblings looked up at the sky where their parents were watching them grow up, they saw their faces in the stars, just wishing they could see each other again. But they would someday, just, not right now. So as the balloon carried on flying to Antarctica all three of the Warner siblings sang in perfect harmony together.
"A friend and companion
I can always depend on
My mother
That's who I mean
My mother
That's who I mean' that's who I mean..." they sang together, continuing to hug each other close to them. Flying around the world could wait, do you need it to get this baby home to his family... Something the Warner siblings were lucky they still had... There were many cartoon characters there age that didn't have parents to know and love, like they did for some of their childhood... They were thankful that they even got a chance to have parents... And now, flying all the way to Antarctica, they were going to reunite this baby penguin with his own.
A/N:
Oh my God! :-( This was so emotional... I loved it though... Again, I have never seen the show because stupid Amazon Prime is a bitch and wants to steal my money... So I can't watch the show unfortunately... It's so sad. But I hope you enjoyed this fanfiction anyway, I would appreciate if you would leave a review on what you thought of it. Please don't be mad at me because I am barely seen the show, believe me I want to, but again Amazon Prime is a bitch and wants to steal my money so... I can't have that unfortunately. But until then, I will see you soon and I really hope you have a wonderful day/Night where ever you are in the world. Thanks for reading
