Summary: Ash and the gang are invited to a kereoke event held in Lumiose city, Ash is starting to learn what his honey blond friend means to him, bit by bit, day after day. So he decides to bite the bullet, on this unforgettable night. How will Serena respond?
Chaper one: An unforgettable night
It was another sunny day in the Kalos region, the Pokemon league was postponed for three months to give people as much time to train as possible. Ash thought it was a great idea, but in the end it had quickly took its toll on the boy and soon he was laying lazily on a couch in the Pokemon center lobby.
"Man I'm so bored" Ash groaned. His partner on his trainers side, sitting lightly on his chest.
"Pike pi" Pikachu said sorrowfully looking at his trainer. (T: Im bored too)
"Then why don't we explore around the city for a while" Clemont stated, adjusting his glasses.
"Hey thats a great idea" Serena exclaimed happily, looking at all the possible events being shown in the area, but one captured her interest the most, its was an advertisement for a kereoke event nearby being held the very next day.
"I have an idea. Lets go here" Serena said pointing at a building nearby hosting an event that had caught her eye. The group liked at the screen with curiosity and interest.
"That looks fun" Bonnie said happily.
"I certainly wouldn't mind going" Ash said. "How about you buddy" Ash asked turning to his partner.
"Pikachu" Pikachu said. (T: Lets go)
The group made it to the building that the event was supposed to take place in, only to see a sign on the door reading 'Event will be held tomorrow due to it being set up, sorry for the inconvienence' the group were disappointed to say the least.
"Awww i wanted to go there" Bonnie moaned.
"We will Bonnie, it still needs to be renovated for the event" Serena explained. What are your thoughts Ash" the girl inquired.
"…" Ash didn't say anything. He just looked idly at the ground, seemingly lost in thought.
'Do i like Serena? Do i… love her' Ash thought to himself.
"Ash" Serena asked. "You feeling ok?" she said while waving her hand in front of his face to get his attention.
"Gah" Ash said with a jolt. Seemingly brought back to reality.
"What happened?" Ash breathed.
"You were lost in thought it looked like. Is everything ok?" Clement asked.
"Yeah. Im fine" Ash said. The group looked at each other not convinced, but listened to Ash, and dropped the subject, though Serena was the most worried for him.
'What's going on?' Serena thought to herself with a slight frown on her face.
(Later that night— back at the Pokemon center)
Later that night everyone had eaten dinner and got ready for bed, every one was fast asleep but one, Ash laid in bed seemingly unable to sleep, he carefully got out of bed and snuck out of his room that he shared with the others and quietly made his way outside, having found a nice spot he lay down on the ground with his hands behind his head.
"It's beautiful… isn't it?" a voice spoke. The raven haired boy turned his head in the voices direction.
"Serena?" Ash said in mild shock, "What're you doing out here?" he asked.
"I saw you weren't in bed, i got worried and decided to look for you" Serena said.
"Oh, sorry if i woke you up. You can go back to bed if you'd like. I'll be fine" Ash said.
"I'm worried about you. Tell me…. tell me whats wrong" Serena said, tears forming in her eyes.
"I've been having these thoughts recently… about someone i lost… someone who means more to me than anything in the world. I don't want anything to change or what we have to break apart. I just want an answer" Ash said, tears forming without his knowledge.
Serena stood there in shock, Ash… her Ash…. the boy that was confident towards everything, never to let any obsticle deter him from anything he'd put his mind to… was crying right in front of her. She wrapped her arms around the boy in a tight loving embrace, crying into her chest, the two sat there wrapped in their loving embrace, soon Ash's sobs turned in to hiccups as he began to calm down.
"It's love" Was all Serena said.
"Love?" Ash asked.
"It's not a feeling to be afraid of Ash, its completely natural" Serena whispered softly.
"It is?" Ash asked with his usual dense nature, making her giggle, she leaned close to him and kissed his cheeks. "Yes, now lets get you back in bed" Serena said in a wife like tone. She took the tired boy and went back to their room, she dropped him at his bed before returning back t her own, she didn't want to start sleeping with him until after she confessed. Closing her eyes she let sleep take her away.
(The next morning)
The group was wide awake and ready for the day, they grabbed their things and headed over to the place where the event was on Serena's tablet. "Well everyone, this is the place" Serena said. Getting inside the building, the group noticed the number of people in attendance, dancing or chatting with their friends or people in attendance.
The group found a free table and set down what ever they had with them. "There sure are a lot of people here" As said. Noticing the amount of people.
"Pika Pika" Pikachu said. (T: yes talk about a big crowd)
"I can't wait to find a great woman to be Clemonts bride" Bonnie said
"Don't do this Bonnie" her brother said with a groan. Making Serena laugh quietly to herself.
"Can i have everyones attention please?" the DJ said getting everyones attention. Making the group and the others turn their heads.
"Who's going to start this night off?. We have many people in attendance so i know this'll be one for the record books. Don't be shy, anyone can request anything, any song you want. Its there" the DJ said.
"I have one" Ash said. The group turned their heads in pure shock, they did not expect this from him at all.
"Yes what song?" the DJ said beckoning Ash to the stage.
"Used to be by Ashs to Athens please" Ash requested.
"A fine choice. Any lady would be smitten with you, I'm sure" he joked. Serena heard this and blushed bright red, redder than a tamato berry, but she loved ash greatly, way more than a normal crush at this point. "Thank you… Ash" Serena whispered, tears forming in her eyes. She couldn't hold back a smile.

"And there we have it, folks. That lucky lady must be very proud" the DJ said taking the mic back from Ash. Serena ran up on stage and kissed him with all the passion she could muster. After a while she backed up to let Ash breathe.
"Thank you Ash. This night turned out wonderful" Serena said tearfully.
"Your welcome Serena. I love you. Will you be my girlfriend?" Ash asked with a light blush, scratching one of his cheeks in embarrassment.
"Yes, Ashy i will be your girlfriend" Serena said. Taking his hand the two walked back to the others.
"That was amazing Ash" Bonnie squeaked happily. Her brother nodding in agreement.
(Later after the group left the building)
The group did everything together from browsing the nearby stores (Serena was blushing at all the jewelry most likely having thoughts about her 'future'), taking a walk down route four or just exploring for the sake of it. Serena never leaving hAsh's side since she confessed at the karaoke *Ahem* bar.
"We still have to tell our parents about this. You know" Serena said.
"I know. I know how my mom is, i'd like to… 'save her for last'" Ash said blushing at the thought of his mothers reaction. His girlfriend giggled. "Oaky dokey" Serena said playfully.
"I think Diancie is starting to grow on you" Ash joked.
"Yeah, i wonder what she's doing right now" Serena said out loud.
"Well we could always visit her some time" Ash proposed.
"Oh can we? can we? can we?" Bonnie asked jumping up and down, Dedenne following his 'trainers' action atop her head.
Ash laughed and nodded, the group decided to lay on the grass and watch the clouds roll by, happily pointing out their shapes and sizes, a few hours later the group grew tired and headed back to their Pokemon center rooms. The group decided to stay in the city before leaving, so their rooms were still available.
(Later that night)
The group had already had dinner and were getting ready for bed, eagerly waiting to continue with their journey.
"Good night Ash i love you" Serena said. then she did something Ash didn't expect, the girl got into bed with him, making him blush red due to their proximity, making her giggle cutely to herself.
"G-Good night S-Serena" Ash stuttered. before deciding to once again 'bite the bullet' and go with the feeling, and snuggled into his girlfriends chest, fee like comfortable enough to close his eyes and fall into a blissful sleep.
"Good night Ash, i love you" was the only thing Ash heard before he fell asleep, eager to enjoy his life with Clemont and bonnie, as well as his new girlfriend by his side.
As the journey continues.
