Prologue: Skylaris Potter and Elisa Pheonix
"Hello Minerva" Snape greeted as he entered Professor Mcgonagall's office carrying a young girl, with long golden hair and strange Purple eyes. She looked to be no older than Six
"Severus what are you doing here in the summer and who is that child you bring with you barging into my office," McGonagall says as she picks up a young brown-haired girl from the ground she looked about 4
"I need a Hogwarts acceptance letter for Elisa. Elisa and I will be spending the rest of the summer here on Hogwarts grounds so she will not get lost when the school year starts" Snape says setting the child down
"I will need to evaluate her first to make sure she is prepared for school at such a young age Snivel… I mean Severus" Mcgonagall says
"She is and isn't Skylar starting this year" Snape sneers
"Skylaris is a gifted child she has an eidetic memory and has been here since she was 2 months old," Mcgonagall says going back to her letters with Skylar still in her lap
"Elisa Pheonix is very gifted," Snape says in a low toned voice too where Elisa couldn't hear "I have no doubts she will be just fine, and if you need proof I have spoken with Albus, he will agree to her being admitted early"
"Very well have her report to the stairway in front of the main hall on the first night of school then so she can be properly sorted and housed," Mcgonagall says
"Dad, can we make potions now?" The child, Elisa says
"I wouldn't dare her missing out on the sorting, she will make a fine Slytherin" Snape says
"You know the rules Severus every student must be properly sorted no exceptions," Mcgonagall says looking up from her papers sternly
"And she will be, I have my faith she will be in the same house as her mother. It wouldn't fit for a lovely girl to be in the house that He was in" Snape sneers
"Dad I wanna make potion now?" Elisa says pulling on Severus's cloak
"No Princess, no potion today," Snape says leaning down to Elisa's height
"Learn new spell?" Elisa asks
"Not yet," Snape says
"If that is all you wanted Severus you can leave now me and Skylaris need to finish up getting things ready for the first years," McGonagall says
"Come, Elisa, let's go flying," Snape says taking the girls hand
"Yay! Fly! Fly" Elisa says and snape leads her from Mcgonagall's office
"Can I go flying to Minnie?" Skylar asks
"Of course my dear I will call for madame Hooch and she can go train you for being a chaser on the quidditch team this year," Mcgonagall says sending an owl with a quickly written note on it to Madame Hooch
"Madam Hooch, I have some pre-school year things to do, would you keep an eye on her" Snape says approaching the quidditch pitch seeing Madame hooch headed up towards the castle.
"Um I was just on my way up to see professor Mcgonagall she summoned me but I suppose I could take this young lady with me I think Minerva wants me to train Skylaris up for Quidditch tryouts," Madame Hooch says
"I stay here till you get back," Elisa says climbing into the stand "I no go anywhere"
"Thank you," Snape says "Elisa behave and no fighting young Skylar while I am gone"
"Come with me Miss Elisa," Madame Hooch says holding her hand out to Elisa
"Otay" Elisa says skipping after Madame hooch they head up to Professor McGonagall's office where Skylar is suited up in her protective gear for Quidditch practice and she grabs her Nimbus 1999 when she sees them come in
"Hi, Madame Hooch ready for training again today?" Skylar says enthusiastically
"Well my dear we have someone else joining us today so why don't we just practice flying today and save quidditch practice for tomorrow," Madame Hooch says
"Dad teach me quidditch at spinners end, he says my daddy was on the quidditch team," Elisa says
"Yes well I would feel better if we just practice flying today," Madame Hooch says
"Otay, Otay," Elisa says happily
"Let's get out there then children you are going to need to be a step ahead of all the other students this year," Madame Hooch says taking Skylar's hand
"I can fly with no hands," Elisa says as she bolts towards the quidditch pitch "COME ON!" She yells behind her
"DO NOT GET ON A BROOM UNTIL I GET THERE AND TELL YOU TO YOUNG LADY" Madame Hooch says "well looks like she is going to be a handful in class huh Skylar"
"Yep," Skylar says rolling her eyes and nodding her head
"WALL!" They hear Elisa yell
"Oh dear," Madam Hooch says as she turns the corner and they see Elisa getting off the ground having run into the wall
"Walls hurt," Elisa says
"That's why you don't run in the halls you will need to learn all the rules of Hogwarts if you are to succeed," Madame Hooch says
"Dad gave me coffee" Elisa says
"Ok I am officially going to kill him and get Coffee off of your diet," Madame Hooch says
"He never ever gives me coffee," Elisa says
"Then why would he give you it now when you were about to be placed under my care," Madame Hooch says
"I dunno," Elisa says
"Wonderful from now on until Severus comes to collect you you stay where I can see you, young lady," Madame Hooch says
"That's no fun" Elisa pouts "I'm not a little kid"
"Either that or I will bring you back to Severus and report that you have been misbehaving," Madame Hooch says bending down to look Elisa straight in the eyes
"Fine" Elisa pouts
"let's go then this time slower," Madame Hooch says
"Hi my name is Skylaris Potter but you can call me Skylar," Skylar says to Elisa hoping to make a friend
"My name is Phoenix, Elisa Phoenix," Elisa says
" Do you maybe want to be my friend?" Skylar asks nervously as she had never had a real friend before
"Sure," Elisa says Elisa had this mischievous feeling about her
"Yay" Skylar says about to go in for a hug but holding back not wanting to break Elisa's boundaries and upset her
"Are we there yet?" Elisa whines as they were nearing the doors
" We have just a bit farther to go," Madame Hooch says
"Minnie says that she is inviting my twin to school this year along with a few other exceptional young children so now we won't be the only two," Skylar says
"You have a twin? Why isn't he with you, I had a twin" Elisa says
"Yeah his name is Harry Potter Minnie says that we had to be separated for our protection," Skylar says
"Lily's Son," Elisa says "Dad talk bout lily all the time, he wish to save her if he could go back in time"
"Why doesn't he if he could find a time turner then he could," Skylar says
"It would majorly change the timeline and the ministry of magic could not allow that, Dad could be throw is Azkaban," Elisa says
"But they technically would never even know" Skylar points out
"Still I made him promise me to never do it," Elisa says "If he tried and the Ministry found out,... I can't lose him too"
" If I had a time turner I would turn back the clock to that day and save both my mommy and my daddy and keep my god papa out of Azkaban," Skylar says
"You look like Lily," Elisa says
"My hair is the wrong color and I have daddy's eyes and I have to wear glasses," Skylar says
"You look like her, your face does, same skin tone too," Elisa says
"You look kinda like my god papa I love him so," Skylar says
"That's impossible, My father was a Muggle," Elisa says unsure
"I'm just saying what I see," Skylar says " no need to get all defensive"
"Who is your godfather," Elisa asks
"Minnie doesn't like me talking about him but you heard Professor Snape mention him in her office, his name is Sirius Black," Skylar says pulling out a locket with a picture of all the people who loved her when she was a baby
"Can I tell you a secret?" Elisa whispers "I think Dad lies about who my daddy is"
"Minnie says Professor Snape is a slithery little snake and she wouldn't put lying to a child past him I mean he terrifies his students rather than encourage them," Skylar says
"There are two sides to every person, What Dad does is to protect me, Lucius Malfoy always says my father is in Azkaban but a Muggle can't go to Azkaban can they?" Elisa says
"I would take anything Lucius Malfoy says with a grain of salt he is untrustworthy he was on him who must not be named side," Skylar says
"But Draco agrees, and if Draco Agrees I believe him because Draco is very very nice," Elisa says
"Who has Draco been raised by though he could have been taught to say that and that is why he agrees," Skylar says
"His name is Draco Malfoy," Elisa says
"I know who you are talking about his Father could have filled his head with lies and with evil thoughts," Skylar says
"No," Elisa says "Draco is not evil, and neither is Mrs. Malfoy, Mr. Malfoy maybe, Mrs. Malfoy Never"
"Ok it's your choice what you believe but if something I said turns out to be true don't say I didn't warn you but I don't feel like fighting, I know a great place to go and get some good food want to come?" Skylar says
"Going somewhere without Dad knowing? Count me in" Elisa says they sneak away from Madame Hooch and head to the great hall Skylar sneaks a few plates and places them on the table immediately the plates are piled high with yummy treats and all the girls' favorite foods
"So what house do you think you'll be in?" Elisa says "I'm hoping to be in Mama's house but If I'm in Gryffindor, which is the house Mr. Malfoy says my father was in, I won't be too upset about it."
"Well on my daddy's side my family has always been Gryffindor and my mommy is the first on her side and she was too so I'm pretty sure me and my brother will be too," Skylar says
"So where is you're brother?" Elisa says "
"He has to stay with Mommys mean sissy and her mean husband and mean bratty son," Skylar says
"Well that's stupid," Elisa says "He should be here with you"
"It's for his own good they mask his magical aura and keep him concealed from the bad people who want to hunt him and kill him," Skylar says
"Ahh yeah Riddle," Elisa says "Riddle isn't dead, just hiding"
"I figured as much I remember the day he came in when we were 2 months old and after he tried to kill us he didn't die but he was wounded badly so he skulked into the shadows and hides like a coward waiting to make his next move," Skylar says
"Riddle killed My mama and brother, and my Daddy ran," Elisa says "My daddy had long black hair, and when he was around there was always some man named Mooney. Daddy called me his little padslet. Mooney called him Pad….Padfoot I don't know something like that"
"My daddy had a friend that he called Mooney and my god papa they called him Padfoot and they called my daddy Prongs and called me prongslett and my twin baby prongs," Skylar says
"I'm sure it's just luck that my daddy and you're god papa have the same name," Elisa says
"But what are the chances they both have a friend they call Mooney?" Skylar says " maybe we should ask someone who might tell us"
"Mooney loved chocolate, When I was two we would sit out under the stars and eat chocolate and he would show me the stars," Elisa says "Mooney came around more than daddy"
"My daddy's friend Mooney did the same for me aside from me eating chocolate since I was just a baby," Skylar says
"If I had to choose between Mooney and Daddy. I'd rather have mooney back. Daddy rarely came around, and when he did, he and Mommy fight" Elisa sighs
"Come with me I think I know just the person we should go see to ask about this" Skylar says shoving some of the candies on her plate into her pockets before leaving the table
"Let's go be detectives," Elisa says grabbing all the chocolate, they head to Hagrid's hut careful to avoid Madame Hooch who is frantically looking for them, Skylar knocks on the door and they wait for a response "How mad do you think Dad and Mcgonagall will be at us?" Elisa whispers
"Minnie will be worse but she will probably end up letting us off the hook because she has raised me since my mommy and daddy died," Skylar says
"Dad never lets me off the hook," Elisa says
"Yeah I figured, but no matter what happens or what they say neither of us can throw the other under the bus deal?" Skylar says
"Deal," Elisa says, just then the door opens a very large man is standing before them
"Hiya Hagrid, this is Elisa my new friend can we come in and have some tea with you?" Skylar asks
"Um sure I suppose so I was just making a pot so perfect timing," Hagrid says standing out of the way so they can come in
"Elisa!" They hear snape calling in the distance.
"Are you two not supposed to be here?" Hagrid asks looking down at them
"No, We ask Madame hooch she said we could come" Elisa lied with ease, the lie was so good Skylar almost believed it was true
"Yeah we got to talking and we got some information and we want to see if you could shed some light on it for us," Skylar says she then explains everything she and Elisa had talked about
Once Skylar was finished Hagrid nervously chuckles and says " Sorry girls but I don't know anything about that stuff"
"But Hagrid you knew and were close with my daddy and his group of friends why can't you just tell us what happened after they graduated Hogwarts," Skylar says
"Dad always said that My mama came down to visit you a lot in her year's," Elisa says
"Sorry girls but it's getting late and you don't want to be caught outside after dark," Hagrid says pushing them out the door and locking it behind them
"Well that was a bust, let's go do something," Elisa says
"We could go look in the Library it's my favorite room in the whole castle," Skylar says
"Awesome! I love books" Elisa says "Lead the way" just then Mcgonagall comes up behind Skylar where Elisa can see her "Uh oh trouble on the horizon" Elisa whispers and then grins up at Mcgonagall sheepishly
"She's behind me isn't she" Skylar mouths
"Yep" Elisa mouths
"Hello girls and just what do you think you are doing I thought you were practicing your flying skills with Madame Hooch," Mcgonagall says
"Visiting Hagrid with permission," Elisa says
"Madame Hooch said you wandered off and that she did not even get asked if you could go anywhere," McGonagall says
"It was on our Authority," Elisa says, Mcgonagall could see Elisa was going to be a troublesome student
"Miss Phoenix students and children do not have the authority to leave somewhere or go somewhere without permission," Mcgonagall says
"My friend Mooney said he and Daddy and their two friends did it all the time," Elisa says
"Well I assure you that if they did it was very fortunate for them that they did not get caught
"It was my fault, Minnie, I asked her if she wanted to go to the great hall to get some sweets and then we got to talking and we wanted to ask Hagrid something and then we were just heading to the library to read together, I'm sorry Minnie I just wanted to get to know my new friend," Skylar says
"ELISA PHOENIX WHERE THE BLOODY HELL ARE YOU!" Snape yells from a distance
"Uh oh. Gotta Bolt" Elisa says running in the opposite direction and Skylar follows as Snape comes down to them
"Mcgonagall have you seen Elisa," Snape says
"She just went that way," Mcgonagall says pointing toward a rock
"Merlin's underpants that child is going to be the death of me," Snape says
"You chose to take her on as your own Severus and you have to live with that, I will never understand why you did that seeing as you hate her father," Mcgonagall says
"I did it for Lupin," Snape says "Because he couldn't. She is not too know who her father is. Not yet"
"You don't like Remus either and yet you did him a favor?" Mcgonagall asks confused
"No I dont, but I owed him a life debt," Snape says
"You know we are in a similar boat Severus we were both entrusted with the care of two amazingly bright and very important children and we have to protect them, at some point they will both need to learn the truth of who exactly they are," Mcgonagall says placing an arm around Snape's shoulders
"And when the time comes she will know, but I fear she will find out before she is ready. She is her father's daughter" Snape says
"Yes indeed and Skylaris is the same way and she is already making friends with Elisa and they will probably figure it out twice as fast with them together," Mcgonagall says
"You know last night Elisa charmed all my robes into Gryffindor colors, it took me and Lucius two hours to undo her spell. I don't think it was a known spell" Snape says
"Skylaris did the same with all of the banners in the great hall which were set up in the Hogwarts crest and when I walked in they were Gryffindor," Mcgonagall says
"May Hogwarts survive the young children of the Marauders," Snape says "And whoever else Elisa may befriend"
"It is going to get worse we have many young children coming including Skylaris's twin Harry," Mcgonagall says
"Yes, I heard the Weasley twins and Draco are getting their letter early, and a possible Ron Weasley too?" Snape says
"Yes all of them and a muggle-born Hermione Granger, perhaps even young Ginny Weasley will be coming but I might wait for next year on her, and Neville Longbottom is coming per his grandmother's request," Mcgonagall says
"Elisa is friends with the twins, all I have to say on them is Merlin help the house they land in," Snape says
"It will be Gryffindor for the lot of the Weasleys I am sure of it" Mcgonagall
"Have fun with them, especially if Elisa gets in with them" Severus says
"Yeah and if the others get in there as well I am going to have chaos on my hands for the next seven years," Mcgonagall says
"I think you were going to have chaos no matter who goes where," Snape says
"Well I am going to bet My house doesn't win the cup anytime soon with the lot I'm about to be dealt with," Mcgonagall says
"So Albus has sent a letter to a demon child," Severus says "the boy's name is Wyx"
"Yes I am aware," Mcgonagall says
"Is he out of his mind? That's against the use of magic law." Snape says
"Severus our world is changing its time we did too at some point children like that coming here will be totally normal to us" Mcgonagall scolds Snape
"I hope we don't come to regret this" Snape says "He could have settled with the half-cat Twins Alastor, and Willow Smith"
"Don't forget the Elf twins Imogen and Darra Anasaki" Mcgonagall says pulling out a flask and drinking from it then offering it to Snape
"Yes, how could I forget them," Snape says as Mcgonagall sees a shirtless boy approaching from behind Snape. This boy had dark skin and green hair, he wore dark sunglasses.
"Hey Minnie, Sev, have you seen Albus My dad has locked me out of the chamber," The boy says; the boy's name was Gwen Jaffernou
"Um I think he is in his study probably pacing around getting ready for the school year," Mcgonagall says
"Is it true I'm going through classes this year? Dad keeps saying so" Gwen says
"Yes as long as you stay in human form and you call us by professors Mcgonagall and Snape and the same for the other professors, Mcgonagall says "and you must wear the uniform"
"Sure. I'm going Rat hunting" Gwen says "After I find Alb. I need to talk to him about my little deadly gaze problem" Gwen heads back to the castle
"So what are we going to do about Elisa and Skylaris right now they broke the rules they have to get used to being punished," Mcgonagall asks
"Detention when school starts," Snape says as Mcgonagall sees Elisa and Skylar sneaking up towards the castle
"I'm thinking first two weeks of class after class before dinner," Mcgonagall says "OI WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU TWO ARE GOING GET BACK HERE WE HAVE DECIDED ON YOUR PUNISHMENT"
"PLACES!" Elisa screams back and she grabs Skylar's arm and drags her into the castle at a run
"We should go after them," Snape says
"Ah let them play for the rest of the night, Skylar hasn't had any social interaction with anyone near her age and hasn't even left Hogwarts and Hogsmeade since she was 2 months old," Mcgonagall says
"Elisa has never had any positive interaction for a long time, her last interaction with those her age, aside from Fred and George Weasley, was negative at the orphanage I saved her from"
"So it's agreed we let them play for a while longer before dinner and then we deal out their punishment," Mcgonagall says
"They'll come when they are tired or hungry," Snape says
"Exactly so what do we do now everything is all set for the start of term in a few days," Mcgonagall asks taking another swig from her flask and handing it to Snape " I vote we get drunk while the girls are entertaining each other"
"Well-" Snape says as there is a huge boom from the castle and moments later they see Mrs. Norris run from the castle
"Should we worry about that or just let things happen?" Mcgonagall says
"No, Elisa probably dung bombed the cat, let's let her get it out of her system," Snape says then they see a huge wave of water come up out of the lake and splash into the castle flooding the halls, they see Elisa and Skylar riding the wave from the castle to the lake
"That one was Skylar maybe those two will get along but I think they may not be the best influences on each other" Mcgonagall says
"Let's hope they don't make us keel over from stress," Snape says "And maybe they will find someone who is a good influence on them"
"Knowing Skylaris probably not," Mcgonagall says
"Knowing Elisa she'll change them to her side. These are going to be a long seven years" Snape says as they see the water turn into rum
"Yep," Mcgonagall says filling up her flask with the now run river flowing from the castle to the lake
"God damnit she learned the spell," Snape says
"Skylaris learned that spell a year ago," Mcgonagall says
"That was the one spell I didn't want to teach her, she always wants to turn my ice into rum," Snape says
"Girl is just like her father at her age you know he did that all the time back then," Mcgonagall says pulling out 40 more flasks and fills them up with the rum " better get it now before we have to turn it back Severus" She hands Snape 4 flasks of his own
"Don't remind me, the first word out of her mouth when she saw me was Snivellus" Severus says charming many flasks to fill themselves
"SNAKE!" Elisa yells from inside of Hogwarts "GIANT SNAKE!" moments later she and Skylar come running out of the castle straight to Mcgonagall and Snape
"I didn't do it" Gwen yells from in Hogwarts
"Minnie….. bi…..big … Snake….. scary…...wandering…around the halls," Skylar says panting and passing out
"S….Sev….. G….Giant…. Snake…..big scary black snake" Elisa says "I'm scared, Riddle not here right?"
"No Elisa he's not here," Snape said
"Minnie why big scary snake in the castle," Skylar says coming too
"Big snake half-human, is it trying to eat a person?" Elisa asks reaching into snape's potion bag
"Girls that is Gwen he will be joining you at school this year along with a few other half creature half-human hybrid children," Mcgonagall says picking Skylar up
"No snake," Elisa says pulling a stuffed Wolf from the bag
"A… Are they nice?" Skylar says
"Well I can't speak for all of them but Gwen is very nice I have known him since he was young," Mcgonagall says accioing Skylar's stuffed Horse buddy
"He eats people no?" Elisa says
"No Darling, Gwen doesn't eat living people," Snape says with a smirk and Elisa screams then faints
"Hey um I might have scared the girls," Gwen says slithering out to them eating a live rat.
"And that reason is why Mcgonagall told you to stay human" Snape scolds the half basilisk boy
"Yeah sorry," Gwen says "You know what, I'm going to go find my dad"
"Why is it you never listen to me Gwen I am only doing things that are best for both you and the other students," Mcgonagall says
"I do listen… I just hate being human" Gwen says transforming fully and slithering off to the chamber of Secrets
