Nelson Institute

Captain Chip Morton having taken over for the previous Captain Lee Crane with an offer from Admiral Harriman Nelson in order to be in charge of the Institute. After years of asking Lee Crane to step down.

Walking in the silence of the halls heading for Nelson's office. There had been a number of changes in their lives. Since Lee Crane had taken over. He's currently divorced for the past year from Commander Rose Marie Cerley.

It was only a year ago when the Seaview had been on a rescue mission to the South Pacific. She had met and fallen in love with Colonel Robert Baskins in charge of the marines. Knowing that their marriage had been going downhill for years and constant fights in regard to her own career and achievements as an inventor for the Nelson Institute and other agencies.

Captain Chip Morton had liked being in charge of the Seaview for the past year. Even though on the occasion that Commander Lee Crane will be on board for special assignments.

As he entered the outer office with Angie working at the computer terminal. She had just celebrated her 30th wedding anniversary and for which Admiral Harriman Nelson had given her a gold watch and two weeks into the Bahamas. She looked up from the terminal with a tan and a smile. "Captain Morton, I will let Admiral Nelson your here." Since he's been staying busy with all of his scientific projects and right now he needs help with the Seaview having to rescue a number of science specialists in Alaska testing the fault line having to be moving once again.

She picked up the phone to let him know that Morton was here. "Sir, Captain Morton has arrived," she said to him over the phone.

"Tell him to come in." Admiral Nelson had to say. However, he was going to be shocked that friend Commander Lee Crane was coming along as an observer.

Walking in with taking off his captain's hat into his hands. He walks in to notice Lee Crane sitting on the grey couch in the corner of the office.

"Please sir, Captain," he ordered in a stern tone as his features were craggy having not slept all that well the past few days with hearing that his friends were in trouble. Even though they had left the military base to check out the fault line with their equipment.

"What's going on Sir?" as he stares over at Lee wearing his uniform and some type of file in his hand.

"There had been a number of quakes in the general area of region 435. Some fifty miles south of the military base and several quakes hit the area causing widespread damage and possible flooding. You're going to take the Seaview and two other submarines to help locate Doctor Samatha Waters and her husband John along with four others on the team. I had received a faint radio transmission from them saying that they were caught in some type of bubble to protect them from the elements."

"And where Commander Crane into all this sir?" Captain Morton needed to ask the importance of the question and his Seaview.

"Commander Crane and five others having climbing experience will be coming along to help rescue them out of this bubble. Besides four others on the Seaview. I believe after reading their profiles that Kowalski and his brother Stanley, along with Patterson and Commander Ron Hanson. You will use any or all resources in order to rescue them if possible. Seaview is to be ready in eight hours with the recall of all personnel. And if your short you will have to double up in positions or I can ask the local Marine command base for which we used them last year with Colonel Robert Baskins married to Commander Rose Marie Cerley."

"In my judgment, it would be best to call them as soon as possible Admiral Nelson to help maintain the Seaview in key positions on the submarine?" he suggested with a slight smirk on his face.

"I already have Captain Morton and as to why Lee is here to help out the best he can. Good luck with the rescue mission since I will be staying here in place of Lee now," he exclaimed for the most part.

"Welcome abroad Lee. I just hope to god that the Seaview will be able to get to them in time?" Chip needed to say on the subject.

"The Seaview will be to be heading out at flank speed as much as possible. Even though I know that the reactor is going to cause issues with the power levels. And why we will be having a full-time staff in both the reactor and other departments to keep the Seaview running smoothly." Lee had to say to his long-time friend and now in charge of the Seaview.

"I understand Lee. However what if we are short in those areas since no doubt the Marines won't be having the experience necessary to have the reactor running smoothly?" Morton responded with the question.

"Speak with Chief Sharkey since he knows everyone on board the Seaview. Maybe one or two of them just might have the experience before deciding changing departments?" Lee will have said...

"I will get on it Lee with heading back to the Seaview to speak with Chief Sharkey. If there anything else Admiral Nelson?"

"Nope Captain Morton. Just get the Seaview ready to leave once everyone is abroad the submarine and including the Marines."

"Aye, Admiral." Chip Morton had gotten up from his seat shaking Lee's hand before leaving the office. The both of them watched him leave.

"Do you think he's going to be alright with the rescue mission?" Nelson asks the main question.

"He should be Harriman since he's done a wonderful job as Captain ever since I had stepped down," Lee exclaimed with getting up himself to be ready with the trip wit heading back to his apartment to pack.
