Quality time.

...

The common doors swished open as Beast Boy leisurely walked into the room. He walked over to the kitchen and opened the fridge door, humming constantly to himself. He grabbed a cold soda before shutting the door just to let out a high pitched "GAH!" and dropping his drink. "Raven we've talked about this. No sneaking up on people." He whined, clutching his chest as he gave her an annoyed glare.

"I made no such promises, Beast Boy." Raven informed him, crossing her arms.

Beast Boy huffed, bending down, and picking up his dropped drink. "We need to put a bell or something..." He grumbled quietly.

"Quit you're nagging. We have work to do." She scolded as she walked over to the main computer.

"What do you mean work?" He asked, raising an eyebrow after he stood back up.

Raven typed into the computer as the screen lit up with information. "Robin sent over a case." She informed him.

Beast Boy sighed heavily. "Great, even when he's not here, Boy Wonder is still bossing us around."

Raven continued to type at the computer. "I told him we can handle this by ourselves, so I would appreciate it if you didn't contradict me."

He gave her a stern look. "I'm not the one who thinks we can't work well together."

She sighed at the comment. "You're already disproving my point." She said under her breath.

"Just tell me what the mission is?" He grumbled.

Raven rolled her eyes as she pulled up the files Robin sent over. "Lexcorp is suspected of stealing some top secret robotic engineering files for S.T.A.R Labs." She explained. "Robin wants us to investigate."

"He wants us to go to Lexcorp? That's like two cities away?!" Beast Boy whined.

"Being that it's just the two of us, I'm pretty sure I can teleport us there." She spoke turning off the computer.

His face turned serious as he gave her a concerned look. "Doesn't it weaken you when you teleport people?"

"Briefly yes. But I should be able to regain my strength quickly. The question is will you be able to handle the transition? Last time you got sick."

He quickly blew off her concern with a wave of his hand. "Please. Raven. I'm sure I can manage."

Raven rolled her eyes as she walked up next to him. "You ready?" She asked, lifting up her arms.

He smirked confidently. "Always."

With a flick of her wrists, Raven engulfed them in darkness, quickly teleporting them to Lexcorp.

...

Behind the dumpster of the Lexcorp building, Raven's teleportation emerged. Beast Boy stumbled forward, lightheaded from the transition. He quickly grabbed the side of the dumpster to stable himself as he regained his composition.

"Are you alright?" Raven asked.

"Peachy." He managed to say before turning back to her. "How about you?"

"I'm fine." She told him before unexpectedly stumbling forward.

He quickly caught her before she could fall to the ground. "No, you're not." He spoke critically as he gently helped her to the ground.

"I'll be fine." She reassured him. "I just need a moment to recover." She spoke, lightly holding the side of her head.

He nodded before creeping past the edge of the dumpster and slowly glancing around the corner. His nose wrinkled. "This smells fishy." He said distastefully.

"Well, that's Lexcorp for you." She drawled.

"No, I mean the dumpster, I think someone threw out some rotten fish." He spoke, covering his nose.

"Beast Boy focus!" She scolded. "Now what do you see?"

"Two guards are blocking the entrance, and they are packing some heavy guns."

"Okay, I'll teleport us inside." Raven spoke as she attempted to get up, but Beast Boy quickly rushed to her side upon her stumbling again.

"Raven, you're too weak to teleport yourself, let alone both of us." He told sternly, helping her lean herself against the dumpster.

She lightly groaned. "Okay, you might have a point." She reluctantly admitted. "But if we are going to use the front door, we will need a distraction." She spoke, before slowly glancing up at him.

Beast Boy sighed heavily. "Fine." He said irritably as he walked back over to the edge of the dumpster. "I'll just presume it's my dashing good looks that make me such a good distraction." He spoke bitterly.

"Focus Beast Boy." Raven told him, slowly standing up from her leaning position.

"I am!" He shot back. "I'm focusing on the two large guards, holding very large guns."

"Don't be such a woos." Raven said shoving him forward.

Beast Boy quickly flung his arms around as he stopped himself from falling forward. He quickly glared back at Raven when the guards gripped their weapons.

"Did you hear something?" One guard questioned, blindly aiming his firearm.

"Yeah, it came from the dumpsters." The other responded.

Thinking fast, Beast Boy quickly morphed into something innocent and non-threatening as he walked in front of the guards.

"Aw, a kitty." The guard said adoringly, while the other just raised his brow confusedly.

"A green kitty?" He questioned.

Raven let out a disproving sigh facepalming herself, before quickly teleporting.

"Do you think it escaped from one of the labs?"

"Maybe? Looks kind of sick, should I put it out of its misery?"

Raven emerged behind the guards. She quickly brought her hands together, forcing her dark energy to collide the guard's heads, knocking the two unconscious.

"You couldn't pick an animal that was naturally green?" Raven asked angrily, glaring at the small cat as it morphed back.

"I distracted them, didn't I?" Beast Boy responded.

She rolled her eyes. "I wouldn't exactly call what happened a win, being that one was about to put you out of your misery." She drawled as they rushed inside the building.

"Yeah, what was that about?" He asked highly insulted as they continued to run. "Do I look miserable to you?"

"You make me miserable." She responded tenancy under her breath.

He stopped running as he glared at her. "What is that supposed mean?" He asked harshly.

She let out an aggravated sigh as she turned to face him. "It means I should have gone on this mission by myself. Maybe then I wouldn't be stuck looking after you."

He quickly pounced on her, pushing her against the wall as sudden gunshots erupted from down the hallway. "You'll appreciate me one day." He told as he glared at the armed guard that fired at them.

Raven narrowed her eyes. "Perhaps if you stopped throwing yourself at me." She said, harshly shoving him off of her, as she swiftly used her powers to shield them from the gunfire.

"Is that what this is about?" He asked her seriously, and she only glared as she continued to shield them. "Well excuse me for trying to-"

"You are relentless!" She interrupted angrily. "I told you I needed space! I told you I needed time to think! And instead of respecting my answer, you continued to push!"

The guard's gun clicked, finally running out of ammo. Raven took down her shield as Beast Boy quickly morphed into a gorilla and ran forward, punching the guard into the wall.

It was silent for a moment as he morphed back into his human form before letting out a heavy sigh. "I'm sorry." He said remorsefully. "Patience was never my strong suit."

She sighed as well "I don't mean to be so harsh to you. I just wish you understood when it's the right time to..." She trailed off, looking away from him.

"I don't mean to pressure you. I just get carried away sometimes..."

"I know." She said glancing back at him. "And I do appreciate you." He smiled at her and she found herself looking away again. "There's just a lot of pressure." She spoke uneasily. "Between you wanting an answer, and Starfire insisting I go for it, just because she wants to experience a double-date."

"Heh, what?" He couldn't help but laugh at the idea. "That sounds horrible."

"I just need more time to think about it." She told him seriously, turning to face again.

"Just don't string me along for too long." He smiled teasingly. "There's plenty of girls who want a piece of this."

Despite rolling her eyes, a small smile graced her lips. But that smile fell as two more guards rushed down the hallway. Focusing back on the mission, the two Titans ran forward. Raven used her powers to quickly engulf their firearms, and yanked the weapons out of their hands. Beast Boy then ran forward, quickly morphing into a gorilla as he pounced onto the unarmed men.

After knocking out the guards, Beast Boy turned back to Raven as he morphed back into his human form. "So, do we even know where they are keeping the robotic engineering files?" He asked glancing up and down the hall.

"Robin says we just need to get to the computer lab and fry the system." She explained as they started running down the hallway again. "That should erase any information they have on the files, along with anything else they might be planning."

"Okay, but how are we supposed to know where the computer lab is?" He asked as she stopped in front of a door. He slowly glanced at the door in front of them marked Computer Lab. "Okay, but you know it's usually not that easy." He said letting out an annoyed huff before grabbing the nob and trying to open the door. "It's locked."

Raven narrowed her eyes. "Did you really think they wouldn't lock it?"

Beast Boy shrugged "Sometimes the bad guys are dumb."

"Not the ones at Lexcorp." She hissed.

"Okay, I'll just bust down the door then." He said backing up, but she grabbed his shoulder before he could morph.

"Stop, that is a highly secure door. No even a rhino could break through it."

"So, how are we going to get in?" He asked.

"I'll teleport us-"

"No." He said sternly. "If you teleport us both, then you will be too weak to fry the computer." He told her as he quickly glanced around the hallway, his eyes honing in on an air vent. "You teleport in, and I will find another way."

She nodded. "Be careful." She told him before teleporting herself into the lab.

Upon phasing into the room, Raven quickly rushed to the large computer. She swiftly typed away at the keyboard, putting in the virus software Robin had given her to shut down the entire system. She suddenly stopped as she heard a thunk from the small air vent, and she rolled her eyes as the green spider scurried out.

"Have a little trouble?" She asked, continuing to type.

Beast Boy morphed back and rubbed his head. "I wasn't expecting that tight of a turn." He groaned when the Lexcorp alarm system started to commence. "Might want to hurry it up, Rae." He said anxiously.

"I'm almost done." Raven told him. "There." She said hitting the last key.

But nothing happened...

"Is that it?" He asked.

"No." Raven said, her face falling drastically. "Nothing happened." She quickly typed the last code in again, just to get the same resort. "It's not working." She said in a panicked tone.

"Okay, calm down." Beast Boy said moving his hands in a calming gesture. "Just call Cyborg. I'm sure he can tell us what to do."

Raven opened her communicator, just to get a static reception. "There's too much interference." She said angrily. "I don't understand why the code didn't work?"

"Why don't we just smash the computer?" He suggested.

"That will just destroy the hardware." She told him. "We need to attack the software."

"So, what are we going to do now?" He asked, glancing at the red flashing alarm. "Because guards are going to come barging thru that door any minute." He reminded her.

Raven quickly glanced around the room. "If we had something that could create enough electricity, we might be able to fry the software." She determined, when she suddenly turned to him. "You."

He gave her a confused look. "Look, I know I have an electric personality but..."

"An electric eel can generate up to 600 volts." She explained as the door to the lab quickly unlocked. "Do it now!" She yelled as he quickly morphed into the sea creature and landed onto the computer.

Sparks flew around the room as the computer fried and the armed guards barged into the room! They fired their guns as Raven quickly jumped onto the eel and teleported them back to the tower!

The pair swiftly dropped out of the teleportation the same way they went into it, and fell onto the floor of the main room.

Physically drained from the transfer, Raven struggled to keep herself from falling onto her teammate as she pushed herself off of him. She was thankful he had morphed back into his human form, though as she glanced at her singed uniform and hair, she wished he had done it sooner.

Beast Boy's face contorted painfully. "My head hurts." He groaned.

"I'm not feeling so well either." Raven admitted from beside him.

He lifted his hands, letting them drag down his face before flopping them by his side. "Do you think the system is fried?"

"It better be." She spoke in an irritated tone. "Because I'm not doing that again."

He turned his head slightly to glance at her. "It wasn't that bad, was it?"

She turned her head, returning his glance. "I don't know about you, but I don't find electric shock therapy to be enjoyable?"

"No, I mean working with me."

"Oh." She spoke quietly, briefly breaking his gaze. "No, it's not that bad." She said, glancing back at him as she let her hand gently fall beside his.

He smiled lightly, never breaking eye contact as he grasped her hand with his own.

Just returning from Titans East, Cyborg groaned distastefully from the kitchen. "Gross." He commented, grabbing a soda from the fridge. "Get a room you two."
