Hi!
So in this story, some of the characters are AU and the storyline isn't exactly cannon. I couldn't throw Sam under the bus, so Musa was dating Riven because it helped the storyline, which you'll see in a few seconds.
This is about Fate the Winx Saga, so invision characters like their live action character with their respective powers.
Hope you like the story and review if you have something to say, but please no hate. Thanks!
Musa looked at her phone in shock, her eyes scanning the words over and over again. Once the words registered, she was aware that her whole world had just fallen apart.
Riven had broken up with her, over text of all things, even if he was literally a building away. He had said he didn't love her anymore and what's more he had confessed to cheating on her! It hurt so badly, it felt like someone had just ripped her heart out.
What was worse was that she couldn't even focus on her own emotions while she was feeling hundreds of others all at once. She needed to get as far away from everyone as possible. Trying in vain to wipe away her tears, she got up and started to go outside, only to be stopped.
"Musa? Are you okay?" Bloom questioned.
She'd completely forgotten that Bloom was still in the dorm, while the others were off doing their own things. Dammit.
Trying not to turn around and let Bloom see the tear streaks running down her face, she said a quick, "Fine," but her voice cracked.
Violet eyes glowed and Musa could feel the worry emanating off the ginger, but before she could get close, Musa was out the door and into the hallway.
As she walked past the other rooms, she couldn't stop her powers as they spiraled out of control with her own negative emotions and she could feel the whole school's worth of anxiety, fear and anger. She could feel everything and it hurt. She had to get out and away right now.
Taking a shortcut, she made a beeline for the door while simultaneously avoiding as many people as she could, and finally escaped outside.
So wrapped up in her own mind, she didn't even notice the looming thunderclouds overhead. She just started moving wherever her feet would take her and after some time, she found herself in the stone circle.
Finally alone and away from everyone's feelings to the point where she wasn't drowning in them, she was free to cry. To cry for the loss of her friend, the loss of her first boyfriend, but most importantly the loss of her one and only safe space.
She stayed out there until it started pouring buckets of rain and she stayed out still, ignoring the fact that she was soaked to the bone and freezing. But she didn't really feel anything, she was trying so desperately to not feel anything.
She stayed like that for hours until it was late at night, before a rustling bush caught her attention.
"Who's there?" Her voice was hoarse from hours of sobbing and she could barely be heard over the pouring rain.
The figure showed itself to be her roommate Bloom, shroud in raincoat and carrying an umbrella.
"For fucks sake Musa, we've been searching for you everywhere! I knew you'd be here, I fucking knew it but Stella was like, no she won't be there. Never listening to her again, I swear."
She sent the others a quick text of their location before Bloom took a good look at the mind fairy. She was pale and shaking badly, not to mention that she was soaking wet.
"Jesus Musa, how long have you been out here?" Bloom asked, walking closer. The other girl shrugged, but Bloom already knew how long and guilt flooded through her and into Musa.
The mind fairy winced and her eyes glowed briefly before stopping.
"Oh shit, sorry," Bloom apologized, "But jeez, Musa, why have you been out here for hours?"
Musa hesitated, but decided might as well not hide it.
"Riven b-broke up w-with me. H-he said he c-cheated on m-me. H-he t-told me over t-text." Her teeth were chattering so hard, she could barely speak. The thought of the breakup brought fresh tears to the surface and she began to cry once more.
Bloom noticed and took off her jacket and put it over the other girl. Musa didn't even seem to notice Bloom right next to her.
'I'm so sorry Musa. He's such a scumbag. We can talk more about this later, but right now I'm really worried about you and being out in all this rain. Let's go back to the suite."
Musa's head was reeling and Bloom's words were fading in and out like a bad radio signal. Her head was starting to hurt and her vision was blurring badly, but she tried to stand regardless.
As Musa went to stand, her knees buckled and she collapsed into Bloom. The fire fairy's eyes widened in shock as she and Musa fell to the ground due to the sudden weight.
"Musa? Musa, what's wrong!" The ginger shook her friend gently.
"Mmm... jus' dizzy an'... really sleepy." Her speech slurred and she swam in and out of consciousness. Bloom could feel the tremors running through her small body and was alarmed by the sudden deterioration in the mind fairy's condition.
Okay Bloom, you're a fire fairy. Just control your magic and warm her up. Easy...just don't fuck up...don't fuck up.
Channeling her magic, instead of making fire, she tried to just make heat and warm up the air around them. It started working and the temperature around them started heating up, despite the rain.
The empath sighed in slight relief and burrowed into the other girl's warmth. Bloom placed a warm hand on Musa's forehead and cringed at how cold she was.
I hope the others get here soon.
Just as she thought that, she heard rustling nearby.
"Over here!" She called.
A few moments later the others reached them and they all gasped at the sight of their semi-conscious friend.
"Bloom, what the hell happened?" Aisha sent an accusatory glare.
Piercing eyes, already glowing red as she used her magic, shot Aisha a sharp look.
"What? You think I did this? And if you couldn't tell, I'm trying to help her so-" Bloom was stopped mid sentence by a groan coming from her lap.
"P-please s-stop." Musa pleaded, her hand moving to clutch her head.
Bloom and Aisha immediately looked apologetic.
"Sorry." They both whispered.
Terra was already moving towards Musa's side and grabbed her hand.
"She's freezing! I think it might be hypothermia. We have to get her inside."
A serious look on her face, she began ordering people around.
"Aisha, use your magic to pull the water out of her clothes so she can be dry, Bloom keep doing what you're doing, and Stella, use your light because I can't see shit."
They all looked at her a little shocked because she never was like this but they quickly went to work. Once they finished their tasks, Bloom picked up Musa into her arms and they went as fast back to dorms as they could, considering it was raining this whole time.
By the time they got back, they were all soaking wet, but thankfully no one had seen them. Bloom went and placed Musa onto her bed and began taking off Musa's clothes.
"What the fuck are you doing?" Stella questioned.
"Getting her into warmer clothes, what do you think?" Bloom retorts. Stella went silent.
They bundled the still shivering girl into warm clothes and placed all the blankets they had on her. By this point, she was fully unconscious, but had warmed up considerably by now.
The remaining fairies exited the room to go talk.
"Shouldn't we go get your dad or the other teachers? She's not in a good state." Aisha askes Terra.
Stella scoffed. "And tell him and the other teachers we were out after curfew? Are you mad? Besides she'll be fine by the morning, she just stayed out in the rain too long."
The others nodded in agreement. They already were on the watchlist of the teachers; they didn't need anymore suspicion or attention being placed on them.
"What I want to know is why she was out there in the first place? Does anyone know?" Terra questioned the group.
Bloom bite her lip, debating whether or not to tell them. After a second or two, she decided it would become common knowledge soon anyway, so she spoke up.
"I caught her about to leave the suite a few hours ago and when I asked if she was alright, her voice cracked when she said she was fine, but before I could talk with her more, she was already out the hall. When I realized something wasn't right when she hadn't returned in a while, I connected the rest of you and we, of course, began searching. Well, when I found her in the stone circle, which I knew she would be, she told me that her and Riven had broken up over text and that he had cheated on her. I assume the noise and emotions of everyone around her was too much for her to bear so that was probably the reason why she was out there."
The others stood silent for a second, absorbing the information. Stella spoke first.
"So this is your fault then?"
Bloom looked appalled at the accusation. "Excuse me? My fault? Who the hell do you think you are saying this whole thing was my fault! Where were you when Musa was broken up with? Oh wait, let me guess, it was with Sky, huh. You must really like toxic relationships."
"You bitch!" Stella's eyes shined and the room lit up with her light. At the same time Bloom's eyes glowed their blood red, and fire sparked to life in her palms. Just as things were about to reach their breaking point, Terra stepped in between them.
"Enough! You two are acting like children. I get that you both are worried about Musa, but this is not the time nor the place to start a fight. I for one, don't want the room lit on fire, Bloom, so if you could kindly shut off your flames it would be much appreciated. And Stella, turn off the light show, thanks." The two girls looked annoyed but stopped, turning away from each other.
"I'm going to bed, it's late. You all should too. God, I swear, we literally can't function without Musa keeping everyone's emotions in check." Aisha said the last part under her breath, heading back to her room.
With a roll of her eyes, Stella went to her room, shutting the door. Terra was about to head to her shared room with Musa, but Bloom stopped her.
"I'm sorry for arguing. I'm just a little overwhelmed with everything that happened tonight. And what Stella said was right. It was my fault. If I had just stopped her, none of this would've happened. I guess I just feel really guilty."
Terra gave the fire fairy a soft smile. "It's not your fault Bloom. You didn't know she'd act this way. God, I'm going to give Riven an earful when I see him next. I mean he cheated on her and then told her over text! Honestly! Why is he such an asshole?! Musa's too good for him."
"Can you keep an eye on her tonight? I'm still really worried about her." Bloom asked.
"Of course, you didn't even have to ask." Terra gave her another smile.
Bloom breathed a sigh of relief. "Thanks and goodnight."
"Goodnight Bloom."
With that said, they both parted ways to their separate room and retired for the night and went to sleep.
Or at least, Terra went to sleep. Bloom stayed up tossing and turning. Something just didn't feel right. She stayed with this feeling that something was amiss all night until she couldn't take it any longer.
Checking her clock, she found it was 5:00am. Not even Aisha woke up this early, but it wasn't too early to get up. Some people enjoyed waking up with the sun, even if she normally didn't.
Getting up and dressed as quietly as she could, she crept out of her room, careful not to disturb Aisha. Just as she was outside her room and into their shared area, a school wide broadcast started.
"BURNED ONE'S HAVE INFILTRATED THE SCHOOL. EVERYONE PLEASE EVACUATE TO THE COURTYARD IMMEDIATELY." The broadcast carried the voice of the headmaster, Ms. Dowling.
Bloom looked towards the voice in alarm. What? Burned ones? How did they get through the barrier!
The sound of doors slamming open brought her out of her thoughts as a panicked Stella and Aisha burst from their rooms.
"Bloom what the hell is going on!?" Aisha addressed Bloom, half yelling.
"Yeah, what's going on? Burned one's! As in plural? And how did they get past the barrier!?" Stella questioned.
"Hell if I know, I'm as lost as you both. I had no idea this was happening..." Bloom paused before speaking again. "Do you think this has something to do with Beatrix and Rosalind? Ms. Dowling did say that Rosalind was really powerful. Do you think Beatrix somehow escaped and freed her?"
Another door flung open and Terra emerged. "It's possible. Bloom are you sure you knew nothing about this. I mean a few days ago, you were wanting to free Beatrix yourself."
Bloom shakes her head. "No, I honestly had no idea this was going to happen. Sky talked me out of freeing Beatrix, unless…"
"Unless what?" Stella prodded.
Bloom's head snapped up. "Last night, we were all in the stone circle. And we all know the stone circle is what powers the barrier and the school. What if Musa was taking energy from it due to her emotions, and then I channeled it when I was using my magic, then all of you used yours. What if Beatrix did find a way to escape and she took energy from the circle and with Rosalind's prison being weakened, she was able to break it and they went and weakened the barrier more. That could've been enough to let the burned ones in even without my help."
They all went silent.
"Shit." Stella said.
"Well, we can't do anything about it now, we have to get to the courtyard and see if we can find some way to beat all of them." Aisha stated.
Bloom nodded before realizing something. "Where's Musa?"
The others remembered as well and they all headed into her and Terra's room. Once all inside, they realized she was still asleep.
"How the hell did she sleep through that bloody alarm system?" Stella wondered out loud.
Ignoring the blond, Bloom walked over to the bedside and shook the mind fairly softly.
"Musa, Musa wake up."
When the girl made no sign of moving, Bloom shook her harder.
"Musa, wake up! There are burned ones in the building. We have to go."
This time, she stirred and opened her eyes.
"Wha-what's going on?" She looked around, disoriented.
"There are burned one's in the school and we have to go to where the other students are." Bloom responded.
Musa nodded and went to stand, but as she stood up fully, she stumbled. Luckily, Aisha moved and caught her before she could fall.
"Are you alright?" The water fairy questioned.
Musa stood up shakily and nodded. "Yeah, I just got up too fast."
The others exchanged looks of doubt, but they didn't have enough time to pry.
"Let's get going. I'll make us invisible while we walk there." Stella said, shooting a brief worried glance in Musa's direction before taking the lead. The others followed suit, all keeping a close eye on their seemingly unwell companion.
They exited their dorm and headed to the courtyard. As they walked, they were all acutely aware of the fact that Musa seemed to be grimacing and in obvious pain and it only seemed to be getting worse as they neared the meeting place.
As the mind fairy's eyes glowed once more and she grimaced, Terra decided enough was enough.
"Musa what's wrong? And don't lie, even though it's not like we'd know because you're the mind fairy, it would still be counterproductive and we can all see that you're in obvious pain." The others nodded in agreement.
Musa looked like she wanted to argue, but as her powers flared up once again, she decided to just tell them.
"I can feel everyone's emotions right now, and people are terrified and it hurts so badly. And when I woke up this morning, I felt like shit, and now I feel even worse and I can't even think without feeling second hand anxiety and I don't even have Riven because he broke up with me and...and…" Musa had stopped walking and she was leaning heavily against the wall, one hand on her head. As she reached the end of her explanation, she started to look like she was about to hyperventilate.
Seeing the signs and shocking the rest of the group, Stella went up to Musa and took her into a hug.
"You're okay, everyone here is okay. Breath in, breath out. Just follow along with me," She comforted the smaller girl. "There, just keep breathing slowly. In and out."
The others looked shell shocked by the rare display of empathy from the blond. She shot them a look.
"You guys didn't honestly think I was just some heartless bitch, did you?" She paused before continuing. "Back when I was with my mom, I used to have panic attacks and this was one of the ways I coped." The others nodded silently.
"Are you still shielding us Stella?" Bloom askes.
"I am, but with all the noise we're making, it's not like it'd matter much." She responded.
"Let's hurry, we shouldn't take any unneeded risks, especially when we're so close to the others." Aisha urged, but looked questioningly towards Musa.
Musa stood up straighter and nodded in affirmation. "I'll be fine, and Aisha's right. We shouldn't be wandering the halls when those monsters could be anywhere."
The others couldn't argue with her because she had already started walking, so the group followed suit. Soon they reached the courtyard, where the other students and teachers were waiting.
Once Farah noticed the group's arrival, she looked relieved and hurried over to them.
"Are you all alright? When you didn't show, I became worried that something had happened."
"We're...fine." Bloom said, sparing a glance in Musa's direction, though it went unnoticed by the headmaster.
"Good. Now I need each of you to help fortify the area against the burned ones. And Bloom, do not leave my side. I know they are after you so make sure to stay on high alert."
Bloom just nodded, not wanting to argue with the already beyond stressed women. Though she wasn't exactly planning to follow her command. She had another idea in mind, and besides, she wasn't going to risk others lives just so she could stay in the safe zone.
Each of them went around doing jobs with their magic, with Bloom helping the other fairies weld the doors, while the others helped in their own ways.
Terra had conveniently remembered Musa's headphones so the mind fairy was desperately trying to block out all the chaos at one of the tables in the corner. Thankfully, no one bothered her, and it wasn't like her skill set came in much of use in combat anyway. But while she was actively trying to block out the student emotions around her, she was scanning around for the burned ones in order to locate them before they got to everyone.
It was as she was doing this when she finally picked some of them up. She startled at the sheer number of them. While Dowling had said there might be somewhere around 6 or 8, she was sensing many more, though she couldn't get an exact number.
Alarmed she went to go tell one of the teachers, but as she turned around, she bumped into Bloom who had been standing right behind her.
"I know." She whispered.
"Bloom, we have to go tell Ms. Dowling. There's so many of them!" Her eyes flashed briefly and emotions ranging from confidence to fear flooded through her.
Eyes widened and she hurriedly spoke to Bloom. "I know what you think you're about to do is the right thing to do, but it's not. You're going to get yourself killed."
Bloom gave a tight smile. "I won't be going alone. You guys can come with me."
Musa gave her an incredulous look.
"Musa, they're after me. I need to get out of here, so they'll follow me. And before you say that's dangerous, I know I can beat them. I can feel the magic inside of me growing and I know I'm strong enough. Please don't tell."
Musa looked hesitant but she eventually nodded. "Fine. Let's go get the others. But how are we going to get out without being noticed?"
"For that, I have a plan." Bloom said, and Musa wasn't so sure that statement made her feel any more comfortable.
With that said, they went and gathered the others and went back into the corner away from prying eyes and ears.
Bloom started. "Okay, so there's a hole in the floor of the cafeteria which we can use to get out and Stella can hide us with her magic for double security. The burned ones will follow me outside without hurting anyone in here and then I'll fight them."
"That's your big plan? We'd have to be insanely lucky for this to work, and I don't know if you didn't notice Bloom, but we aren't exactly the luckiest." Stella whispered loudly.
"Just trust me, everything will go according to plan." Bloom responded.
"Great, now we're jinxed." Aisha said, rolling her eyes.
"Uh, guys, they're getting closer. We need to do this now or never." Musa said quickly.
"So are you all in or not?" Bloom addressed them.
After a few seconds of silence, the group begrudgingly agreed.
The discussion now over, the fairies headed into the underground tunnels. As they walked, Musa could feel the tension in the air and it was literally killing her. Her head was pounding worse than it was in the morning and she was freezing.
Maybe staying out in the rain wasn't the best idea. She thought to herself. Regardless, I'll just have to ignore it. There are way more important things to think about.
The group walked for a few more minutes before they exited into the graveyard. Bloom took this opportunity to explain to them a bit more of the plan.
"Okay, so like I said, Stella is going to hide you guys with her magic and Aisha can make a circle of water around me in case I lose control, so I don't accidentally hurt any of you. Terra can slow them down by using vines and grabbing at their ankles, and Musa...you can be emotional support."
"Brilliant." Musa said sarcastically.
"Are you sure this is going to work?" Aisha asks Bloom.
Bloom pauses momentarily before speaking.
"No. But it has to." With that said, she turns on her heels and continues walking toward the fountain.
"What the fuck have we gotten ourselves into?" Stella says rolling her eyes and stalking after Bloom.
"We're definitely going to die." Musa mumbled under her breath.
"Musa! Don't jinx it!" Aisha whispered furiously. Musa just rolled her eyes, wincing slightly afterwards, as the pounding in her head increased, but no one noticed. They then followed after Bloom and Stella.
After a minute or so they reached the fountain and they all readied themselves, but after a few minutes of nothing, the group turned and gave questioning looks to each other.
"Bloom? Where are they?" Terra asks.
Bloom looked around the area. "I-I don't know. I can hear them, but I can't see them. Musa? Can you tell where they are?"
Musa's eyes glowed momentarily before she falters and stumbles into Stella.
"Musa?" Stella questioned worriedly, supporting the smaller girl against her.
Bloom's eyes widened in panic. Shit, not now, not now. Why did I make her come? I knew she wasn't feeling well. Stupid Bloom, you're so stupid!
"Musa! What is it? What's wrong?" She asks, a desperate tone to her voice.
Meanwhile, Musa's vision was dancing and she was dangerously close to passing out.
What the hell? Why is this happening? Ahhh, my head! Fuck! Why now?...they're coming...they're coming right now!
Blinking rapidly, trying desperately to clear her mind, she shouts her warning. "They're coming! They're here!"
The girls glance around, spinning on their heels and looking in every direction, but none of them could see anything.
"Wha-? Where?" Bloom murmurs out loud.
It was Terra who saw it first. "Bloom! Behind you!" But her warning was a second too late.
Bloom turned to see a burned one coming at her from the air and with no time to react, was backhanded and sent flying into a tree. She hit against it hard, her head smacking into the trunk with a sickening sound, before her body slumped to the ground, unconscious.
"Bloom!" The rest of them screamed. In her panic with Musa, Stella had inadvertently brought down the mirage that had been protecting them, allowing the burned ones to target them. But none of them had the time to place blame. This was life or death.
They all gathered in a tight circle around Bloom, staring up at the creatures who had been hiding in the trees surrounding them. They gazed up at them and couldn't believe how many there were. They had known there would be more than what had been predicted, but they were seeing 20 or more of the snarling monsters staring down at them from their perches.
The monsters wouldn't wait for them to recover however, and they sprang upon the group in hordes. 6 or 7 of the creatures ran at them, the others peering down at them, like how a pack of wolves who haven't eaten in days stares at its prey.
"Guys, we have to protect Bloom! They want to kill her!" Terra exclaims.
The rest nodded grimly. One they could barely handle, but 20? The odds were nigh impossible. It was unlikely they would even survive, much less win, but they didn't yield.
As the monsters charged at them, Aisha channeled the water from the fountain and started blasting the monsters back. Stella began blinding them with her light, and Terra tried tying them down, long enough for Aisha to push them back. But it was a losing battle. The most they could do was delay the inevitable and at the least they would only annoy them.
Musa was desperately trying to wake Bloom, as she was their main form of offense, but it was hopeless. If the amount of blood on the back of her head was any indication of the state Bloom was in, they were fucked.
That was when the worst happened.
Musa's head jerked up at the sound of a scream. Terra had been clawed viciously by a burned one in the leg and was trying to back away, tears of pain and fear streaking down her face. The others could only look on in horror and the creature hoisted her up by her neck, before flinging her away. She landed with a sickening crunch on the ground 10 feet away from where she had been and her body stilled. From her viewpoint, Musa could see bones sticking out and blood spurting from the wounds.
That's when the gravity of the situation set in. Stella collapsed to the ground hyperventilating and in shock, her hands pulling at her hair.
"We're going to die! W-We're all going to DIE!" She began screaming and the monsters set upon her, a horde of flesh seaking atrocities. Aisha fell to the ground and backed away towards Musa, eyes wide in terror as the creatures tore at their friend. Musa gagged and threw up when she saw an arm fly into the air and land on the ground with a thump. And the screams, the screams, filled the air, until they went dead silent, a last spurt of blood signifying the end.
Aisha and Musa looked on in terror as the horrid things looked up from their friend with murderous glee, blood dripping from their sick grins.
Aisha tried screaming for help, but no words came out as a razor sharp claw sliced through her throat. Musa could only watch and feel their deaths, every last second of it. She was drowning, drowning, at this point practically begging to be killed so she could be freed, as she watched the water fairy's decapitated head roll to a stop at her feet.
The world seemed to turn to black and white and time stopped, the pounding of her heart and lungs trying to explode out of her chest, the ringing in her ears and the voice telling her to run. But she couldn't. She was frozen solid, stuck in a traumatizing loop of death, screams and mayhem.
Why? Why did we think we could do this? They're all dead, except Bloom and I, but we're next. Why did this happen to us?! WHY!
She didn't have any more time to think as the creatures rounded on her. Throwing herself on Bloom in one final attempt to at least maybe save her until help could arrive, she resigns herself to her fate.
A searing pain floods through before it stops. She coughs and gagged on the blood welling up in her throat. Her strength leaves her and she collapses onto the cold hard ground. She feels as her lungs fill up with blood and she's distantly aware that her heart isn't beating anymore and she's growing cold.
One last tear falls down her cheek. Well, mom, I guess I'm coming a little early. She breathes out her last breath as all the sounds, emotions and noise fade away into oblivion.
Bloom...Bloom….Bloom! You have to wake up! They need you! Wake up! Bloom, you have to wake up! WAKE UP!
Bloom awakes with a start and opens her eyes. The image she's greeted with is something that will haunt her the rest of her life. The world slows to a stop.
Her friends, dismembered, bloody, and lifeless, lay littered amongst the field. She glances down at her side and sees the face of Musa, blood dripping from her mouth and her eyes blankly staring at nothing.
Suddenly the world is too painfully in focus. The burned ones are but five feet from her and they only just now have sensed that she is awake. There's no time to feel anything as they race towards her, no time to think, breathe, mourn. Just act.
Eyes flare to life, a demonic red wishing solely for the blood of her enemies. A feral yell rips past her lips and she charges, her flames filled with pure rage. Just when they're about to collide, a wave of flames burst from Bloom, a wave of unhinged, unadulterated magic. The wave of flames gives birth to a pair of white-blue wings, burning hotter and brighter than the sun.
The creatures nearest to her are instantly evaporated and the others jump back in surprise, growling ferociously but maintaining their distance. The ones that had been observing in the trees leapt down to join in the fray.
Bloom gave a sociopathic grin, her eyes gleaming like Satan's himself. There were no words in any language that could carry her fury. Her wrath.
Unleashing herself like hell itself, she throws herself at the mass of creatures as they lunge at her and she kills them one after the other with her flames, burning white in her anger.
She gets halfway through them before screaming, "COME ON! FUCKING COME AT ME! I'LL KILL ALL OF YOU!" Her voice raises with every word until her throat is raw and bleeding at the force.
The burned ones thrust themselves at her, but their rage could never match hers. Summoning everything she has left in her, she releases an inferno of flames, burning every last one of them to cinders. When she's finished, not even ashes remain of any of the creatures.
"THAT'S IT! THAT'S ALL YOU'VE GOT! IS THAT- IS That...all…" Her voice tapered off and she collapsed to her knees, broken and alone. A gut wrenching cry explodes from her mouth at the sheer agony of the situation.
She tries to stand, but she falters and falls again, completely drained of magic. Still, she persists and drags her battered body over to where Musa's body lays, where Aisha and Stella lie. She finally makes it over to where Musa is and cradles her bloody body in her lap, tears streaming down her face.
She tenderly brushes a strand of hair out of Musa's face and strokes her cheek but can't help but notice that she's gone cold.
"Wake up." She whispers. She lifts her head and calls out with what little voice she has left to the others. "Wake up! This isn't funny." When all she hears is silence, she starts sobbing harder until it hurts to breathe. Her chest feels like it's being ripped apart.
"I'm sorry! T-This is all my f-fault! I-If I hadn't made you all c-come. You-You...wouldn't be...dead…" She buries her head into her hands, hands soaked in blood.
"You can't...you CAN'T BE DEAD!" She continues to sob until she's hyperventilating.
She shakes her head vigorously. "No, No, NO! NO! NO!" She moves over to where most of them lie and she sobs into her knees.
"I won't let you all die! I won't!" She tries to summon something, anything, but to no avail. She tries again and again, but nothing works. Her friend's bodies continue to lie still on the ground.
Bloom...Bloom…
Bloom's head whips up and she searches for the mysterious voice.
"Who are you? What do you want?" She asks with her voice raw and shattered.
I am you Bloom. Yet I am not….I am the flame within you, the dragon flame…..You can save them, Bloom...you have the power to heal them.
"I-I do? How! Please tell me how! I'll do anything! Please!" She begged the invisible voice.
It will come at a cost...you will use some of your power...in order to bring them back, you will have to give them some of the dragon flame, me...it will cause you significant pain and it will weaken you if you are ever far away from them… you will forever be linked to them and they will be linked to you...if you die, so will they and if they die, so will you...will you still take the risk…
Bloom didn't even have to think before responding.
"Yes! God yes!" She said without a fraction of hesitation in her voice.
"But how? How do I do it? I-I don't want to hurt them any further." She says, trying not to look at the carnage that surrounded her.
You must focus all your desire and power you have into healing them...imagine what they looked like breathing and filled with life...focus on one singular picture in your mind of the goal you want to achieve...then dig deep into me, your flame, and give them each a part of it...
Bloom nodded solemnly and breathed in deep, trying to calm her frantic heart and panicked mind.
"Focus on them...back when they were alive...breathing and alive…" Bloom took one breath and then another.
The wind started picking up as the memories of them all together flashed through the girl's mind. All the good times and the bad flooded through her thoughts.
A glowing red aura began to envelope her and suddenly tendrils of the aura burst from her chest and spread to each of the bodies lying limply on the ground. Her back arched and she faced upwards towards the sky, her eyes opening to reveal their crimson beauty. Her along with the others began levitating in an all encompassing display against gravity.
Broken bones righted themselves and body parts returned to their hosts. Blood that had been spilled over the ground sucked back into their respectful veins and wounds closed. It was almost like time was being turned back.
The five fairies slowly descended back to the ground with the four previously passed lying down gently, now all next to each other, looking just like they were sleeping.
Bloom fell to the ground, her body as heavy as lead and screaming in pain, eyes half lidded and threatening to close, but she had to know, she had to know it had worked.
She studied her friends in desperate anticipation, begging for one of them to move, breathe... do anything! Something that would signify that they weren't dead and that she hadn't failed them.
Please...oh please...please say it worked… She prayed up towards whatever god would listen.
She weakly lifted her arm in an attempt to reach them, feel their warmth, try and see if they were breathing. After nothing for several moments, Bloom was almost ready to give up her last semblance of hope...but then she noticed…
One chest rose and fell, another following, and another, and then another. Bloom would have laughed in relief if her lungs would've let her. But no, all she could do was breath out in relief and let her body fall into the darkness she could no longer fight.
Just as she was shutting down, she could vaguely hear the voice of Ms. Dowling and watched as she ran towards them before her eyes closed shut.
Not quite sure where this story went because when I started it, this wasn't the plan, but then again, writing doesn't always go the way you think it will, does it?
I hope you all enjoyed it and I'm currently writing chapter two but I get distracted so it might take a while. Thanks for reading!
