On October 21th, 1760, Naomi Collins' screams could be heard throughout the Collinwood Mansion as the birth of her child drew closer. Joshua Collins waited outside the bedroom, nervously waiting.

"How much longer?" Joshua asked to his butler. "It will arrive shortly" The butler answered. "Good. I'm considered about my wife and my new son." Joshua replied in a worried tone. "I'm sure they'll be fine." The butler said before leaving.

Before he knew it, the maid announced "The baby has arrived!" in excitement. He smiled at a thought of his wife being ok and he was right. He was pretty sure that the baby was gonna be happy to see him.

However, he expected the baby to be normal-looking, and when he saw the baby, he was wrong about that. The baby, although had a normal body design, had ghostly-pale skin and, to his horror, a pair of snake-like fangs sticking from the baby's mouth.

"What on heavens is this monstrosity?" Joshua asked. The baby turned towards his mother, causing the mother to scream in horror. Despite this, Joshua told Naomi to calm down. "Naomi, you're gonna upset him." Joshua replied, the baby didn't not cry despite his mother screaming. Strangely, he just giggled at seeing her shocked face.

"What are we gonna name him?" Joshua asked Naomi. "Barnabas, I'm gonna name him Barnabas." The wife answered. The then proceeded in taking care of baby Barnabas.

1 month later

Barnabas' cries are heard in the middle of the night, waking his parents up in an instant.

"My lord! What in the name of god is going on here?!" Joshua complained. "I have no idea! Barnabas hasn't been feeding for a month ever since he was born, so that may be a reason why!" Naomi responded.

"Ow! What the?!" Naomi shouted, seeing Barnabas biting his mother's wrists with his fangs, sucking the mother's blood like a juice. "You monster!" Naomi yelled, provoking Joshua nearly an instant. "Naomi! That was not very nice! He's our son." Joshua told Naomi. "I'm sorry, I'm just not used to seeing a baby behaving like this before." Naomi said.

Oddly, Barnabas was no longer hungry, as he fed about 5 percent of his mother's blood, before he went back to sleep. "That's strange. Barnabas is no longer crying, and he's back to sleep again." Joshua said. "I can see that." Naomi answered to Joshua.

5 years later

On May 3rd, 1765, it was 10 in the morning when Barnabas woke up in his bedroom and got dress before going downstairs to meet his parents. "Good morning mommy and daddy!" Barnabas, now a 5 year old kid, said to his exhausted parents. "Good morning, Barnabas." Joshua said in slight satisfaction, but Naomi didn't respond and stared.

Barnabas played outside of the mansion, when was near the cliff. "Barnabas! Don't get close to the cliff! No, Barnabas!" Joshua shouted, but not before Barnabas fell off the cliff. Miraculously, he survived and, without him knowing, he flew back onto the cliff.

"What just happened, daddy?" Barnabas said before his father hugged him in relief, knowing that Barnabas is safe. "What happened here, Joshua?" Naomi asked to Joshua, having witnessed Barnabas' newfound powers. "Did you just witnessed what we saw here, Joshua? This boy his a monster!" Naomi said. "Naomi! I told you not to villainize our son here! He's our son, and that's the fact!" Joshua said angrily to Naomi.

"I apologize, I was overreacting here." She replied back at Joshua before leaving. "Why is mommy upset?" Barnabas asked. "Nothing, Barnabas. She's just angry with me. Come on, let's get back to our mansion." Joshua said. Barnabas didn't understand what was wrong, but this was the beginning of what was in store for him, or, more appropriately, against him.

Two days later

At midnight, when his parents were asleep, Barnabas snuck out of the mansion to test his powers. He tested his flight powers, shapeshifting abilities, strength, agility, and other abilities he didn't knew he had for fun. During his fun, a voice is heard. "Hello." A feminine voice said. "Who's here?" Barnabas asked. "I'm right here." The voice revealed herself. "I'm Angelique, what's your name?" She asked. "I'm Barnabas." Barnabas answered. "Wow! What powers you have here." Angelique shouted in amazement. "I know, right? You wanna see more?" Barnabas asked. "Sure." Angelique replied, as she watched in excitement seeing Barnabas' supernatural powers.

Unfortunately for Barnabas, his sneaking out plan also involved drinking the blood out of the dog the Collins' family owned. Naomi woke up and walked down stairs, to discover a horrifying scene, their dog was drained of blood and is lying dead near the fireplace. "Oh my god! That monster killed our pet!" Naomi said in fear and anger at a same time.

Naomi ran quietly outside and saw even more of the dark powers the boy possessed. She found him testing his powers and she became furious. "You, boy! What have you done to our dog?!" Naomi yelled in anger. "Is she your mother, and why is she mad?" Angelique asked. "That's none of your concerns, Angelique, leave now." Naomi told before Angelique left the scene.

"I was just taking a drink from him." Barnabas answered. "Did you realize that you have killed our dog in a process?! You monster! I've always knew that you were evil from the start" Noami said before pulling a belt from his purse. "Mommy?! Why are you doing this?! I didn't do anything wrong!" Barnabas said before Noami started choking him with the belt. "Don't lie to me, Barnabas! You heard what I said! Do you ever expect your dad or Angelique to love you, despite you being a vampire?!" Naomi said, even more angrier than ever.

Sadly for her, Barnabas snapped the belt and bit her, drinking half of her blood, nearly making her unconscious. "You devil! You should go to hell like other monsters!" Naomi said before passing out. "What is going on?! Barnabas?!" Joshua asked before running outside to see the horror to his eyes. "What have you done to your mother?" Joshua said in worried tone. "She started it, she tried to kill me by choking me with a belt." Barnabas said, tears dripping from his eyes. "It's ok, you're safe. But I don't believe that your mother would ever do such thing to you." Joshua said, not believing Barnabas' words. "But she tried to kill me!" Barnabas yelled. "Shush, no more arguing. You cannot accuse your own mother without any evidence, and you heard your mother. You killed our dog. As punishment, you must be sent to the dungeon underneath our house." Joshua said.

Knowing that his father won't believe him, Barnabas frowned and he was sent down to his cage in the dungeon, without any proper bed or room for him. He laid onto his bed in shame and sadness, sobbing over the trouble he caused and the fact that his father wouldn't believe that his mother would ever tried to kill their only offspring.

The next day

Barnabas didn't get enough sleep last night due to the incident with the now-deceased dog, his mother, and being punished by his father, who wouldn't believe anything he said. "Why would mommy and daddy do this to me?" Barnabas thought in sadness.

Suddenly, he heard the footsteps in the dungeon's hallways and, unfortunately, it turned out to be his mother. "My dear, you look horrible." Naomi mocked. "But then again, that's how monsters are supposed to look. Hideous, unnatural, and emotionless." Naomi said. "I'm not a monster." Barnabas said. "Do you even know what happens to monsters, Barnabas? They get destroyed by the righteous humans." She answered. "Please don't hurt me, mommy! I promise I'll be a good boy like what my daddy wanted me to be. There has to be a cure!" Barnabas said.

Naomi did a wicked laugh then said "I won't fall for your lies, Barnabas. And if your father truly loved you and if he weren't so weak, he would have found the cure for vampirism by now. You have always been his favorite kid, and he intended on having you as the new ruler of this kingdom. However, I'd never let a monster like you rule. Once you're gone, I'll have a son or daughter and have him or her as the new ruler." Naomi then picked out a needle that was filled with a clear water-like liquid. "What... is that?" Barnabas asked. "It is a medicine I got for you, for your eternal sleep." Naomi said with a nearly-sinister grin. "No! Please! Mom!" Barnabas yelled.

Thankfully for him, Angelique came just in time, checking the dungeons when she heard Barnabas' cries. "No, don't Naomi!" Angelique said. "I was just gonna giving him medicine for his cure." Naomi lied. "No, you're trying to kill Barnabas. He's my friend. I must tell the guards." Angelique said. Sadly, Naomi grabbed Angelique and injected the needle twice on her neck, putting her into an eternal sleep. "Nooooo!" Barnabas screamed. Angelique laid lifeless on the dungeon floor, and Naomi hid her needle to avoid any suspicion from anyone else.

Joshua came down to the dungeon and saw Angelique's lifeless body and gasped in horror. He saw two puncture marks, similar to the ones from the dog earlier (except it was from the needle by Naomi instead of Barnabas' fangs, but he didn't believe Naomi would ever do it). "Barnabas! What have you done to her?!" Joshua asked in fury. Before Barnabas could say anything, Naomi lied to Joshua by saying "Barnabas grabbed her and pulled her near the cage, before biting her neck and sucking her blood, like what he did to our dog!"

"I have no other choice now. He must be put to sleep." Naomi smiled at hearing that coming from Joshua. He grabbed the needle and injected the liquid into Barnabas' body, before he fell to the ground out cold. He was then placed into the carriage by the parents and they traveled down the road.

Later that night

Barnabas' parents traveled into the middle of the woods where they found an abandoned ruins complete with a crypt. "I feel wrong about doing this." Joshua said in rejection. "Don't worry, Joshua. It's right for the town and our family." Naomi said. They placed Barnabas' body into the crypt and left the place, believing that Barnabas would die in the wild.

Barnabas opened his eyes, being still alive due to being a vampire. "Daddy? Where are you?" Barnabas asked. "Daddy! I'm lost!" He shouted, unable to find his way back home, and not knowing that his parents abandoned him in the middle of the forest. Sadly, the parents no longer cared for Barnabas, after all, it was his fault from the start.

He heard a deep growl and when he looked back, a huge black bear roared at him while standing on its hind legs. "Mommy! Daddy!" Barnabas shouted in fear, running from the bear. He was quickly cornered by the bear, but he felt a rage going through his body, rage that he never felt before in his life. He quickly overpowered the bear with his vampiric powers, strength, agility, flight, and shapeshifting abilities. After the fight, the bear dropped dead. Barnabas felt hungry and he gave in to his blood-sucking urges and drank the bear's blood.

After having his fill, Barnabas went to the crypt, calling the crypt his new home. "If my parents really love me, they would have never treated me terribly. They would have never harmed me. They would have never abandoned me here." Barnabas said. "I hate you, mommy! I hate you, daddy! I hate you all!" Barnabas shouted before closing the crypt's door behind him, going to the sarcophagus in the crypt, being cursed by the needle's serum to only going out at night, unlike the past 5 years.

207 years later

On October 13th, 1972, Barnabas Collins has been haunting the ruins near Collinwood, having been alive for more than 2 centuries. He has complete hatred against every people ever since that day in 1765. Despite this, he has hypnotized approximately around 7-9 bystanders over the last two centuries to guard the crypt. He has also hunted some innocent people for their blood during those time. Now it was the time for him to take over what was rightfully his before his parents ruined his life.
