It was a cold night in the city of Duckburg, some were heading to hit the hay, some just wanna party, and some... practicing to hit the hay. Literally. As we see citizens walking thru the night sky, as we see them roaming the midnight falls, as we see them preparing for the eclipse that is happening soon, we noticed one of them, not in the mood.
One of them was Lena de Spell, a strange duck, who is holding her amulet, fearing for the worse. She was going to find a dime to release her aunt from her prison. Despite her being possessed, she was allowed out, to not draw attention or suspicions about her.
She was fearing that she was going to return to the shadow realm. She was fearing that she'll never see her only friend Webby. She was fearing that she'll find out that she is not what she seemed. She was fearing that she'll turn her back on her.
But she won't let that happen. The highlight duck will make up a lie that she was going somewhere far away and tell her to never contact her again. However, she knows it'll break her heart. For now, Lena is forced to stay silent.
As she looked at the moon, her shadow changed into the sorceress herself, Magica de Spell.
"You're still sitting here scowling.", the shadow lady scoffed, "Lena, this is our chance! Once you get that dime, you'll release me, take out Scrooge, and then rule the world!"
The amulet-wearing duck rolled her eyes, "Sometimes, I wish I wasn't a part of you... I wish I was my own person. So I don't have to be forced to do your wicked task!"
"Oh come on, you won't even feel a thing once the eclipse rises up. And to be honest, even I worry that someone might steal the spotlight! But that won't happen. Just as long you only have the triplets and Wendy- What's her name as your 'friends."
Meanwhile, a brunette was running. She has long brown hair and cute pie eyes, wearing a red long sleeve shirt and a blue navy skirt. She wore shoes, only because she was told to wear one. She was holding her backpack, looking around the town. As she looks at the moon and the posters, she was excited to see the eclipse sooner or later. She took the poster and continues her night.
"The eclipse, hmm. Guess this town loves eclipses. Sometimes...", sighed the brunette, "I haven't seen an eclipse in person before but I guess one look wouldn't hurt."
"Guess burning your eyes can't hurt you. Not even a peak..."
"Hm?"
The brunette looks behind to see a ghost, who has the same eyes and hair color, but her hair is tied into a ponytail and wears a faded red shirt, navy pants, cherry red shoes, and a lab coat.
"Oh, hey, Mac. Didn't realize you'd be coming along with me", said the brunette.
"Glendy, I'm always following, you idiot.", groaned the imaginary doctor, "When are we going back? It's getting late and you know what happens when night falls."
"Oh come on, Mac. We won't be hurt once we run faster than the air. We'll make it.", the brunette keeps running.
"I wonder why you haven't felt it yet..."
The imaginary doctor follows Glendy as she asked her a question, "So, tell me again why am I your one and only friend?"
The brunette was confused by that question.
"Cause I don't have any real friends and some people are just too hard to talk to," answered the brunette anyway, "Maybe I work as an intern at a business, I should gather some new friends, real ones. Like in TV shows I watched, I bet I'll get a love interest!"
The imaginary doctor scoffs at that statement, "I'd like to see that happen..."
"Good idea, Macbeth!", the brunette beamed.
"No! It's a figure of speech, Vasquack- Wait, do you hear something?", noticed the floating doctor.
"Wait what?"
"Uhh, Aunt Magica, what's that sound?", the highlight duck noticed something.
"Wait what?"
The flash of white light glowed brighter than the sun, temporarily blinding everyone.
"Apple shortbread pie with a scoop of sea salt ice cream. A common farewell dessert in certain parts.", the housekeeper presented the pie.
"Finally. Some real food.", said the blue-wearing duck.
"Oh, I'm so sorry. This was Scrooge's favorite dessert. Oh, I don't want to remind you of that horrid man who lost your mother all those years ago, even if it was an accident that tore him up for ten years, propelling him into a desperate search attempt that left him broken and nearly bankrupt."
"Wait, bankrupt? Really?", noticed the green-wearing duck.
"But I understand, you're upset because you lost one family member, which was terrible and painful, so you decided you should go ahead and lose another- Wait, what's that sound..."
"And what is that-", the pilot was interrupted by the flash of white light, like said earlier, temporarily blinding everyone.
The brunette woke up after the flash, where she fell on the floor and is met with puddles of black liquid, slowly turning into gold.
"What the...", the brunette decides to ignore that and look for her glasses. As she picks up her stuff, she is then met again, but this time, a female duck, with a pink highlight.
The brunette was silent as she looked at her.
"Oh great...", groaned Dr. Macbeth, "Say something!"
"I-, uh... I like your... hair.", complimented the brunette
"Uh, thanks, I like your... Glasses?", Lena complimented back.
The two girls either thumbs up or winked at their ally and aunt as Macbeth and the shadow sorceress scoffs. The two girls turn back to each other.
"Glendy Vasquack, I'm the quirky type, and yes I got that from a fanfiction I read a while ago."
The amulet-wearer giggled a little, "You seemed cute for a funny gal."
"Guess I am!", the brunette joked for a bit.
"I'm Lena LeStrange by the way.", introduce the amulet holder.
"Looks like your my first BFF, Lena!", said the brunette.
The two handshakes and let go.
"So, what was the bright light for?"
"Probably something magical just broke free.", assumed Lena.
"Could be that...", the brunette then gasps, "Wait a minute... You know about this being magical?"
"Yeah... Why?"
"I think I know who you might be based on the stories I read...", said the brunette.
Oh god no..., thought Lena, now sweating in fear, She's gonna think I'm the cause of this and will find out that I'm Magica's minion... Or niece... Oh, who cares...
"You're... Into adventures and magic!", said Glendy.
"Uh, what?"
"You're just a normal teen with a normal life but noticed something is not what it seemed", explained the ditzy duck, "So, you go on an adventure and look for problems and stuff"
The niece of a sorceress stood silent for a bit. She thinks I'm... that..., thought Lena, But better than that dream where... Oh, forget it... She did not want to remember that nightmare. The amulet holder thinks for a bit. If she could play along with that she was into RPG or something like that.
"You are right. I am that... type of teen. A magic fan."
"... Me too!", hugged the brunette, "You gotta show me to your friends if you have any."
"Lucky for you, I got some friends you gotta meet," the both of them got up "I think I know where my friend Webby might be."
The brunette beamed, "Who's Webby?"
Meanwhile, at Donald's boat... House... Houseboat... Ehhh, Whatever
The sailor, the housemaid, the kids, and the pilot were all unconscious. One of them woke up and got up from the floor.
"Mmm... What just happened?", questioned the adventurous bow-wearing duck, as she noticed that everyone's knocked out.
Webby noticed the place in ruins thanks to the mysterious bright flash of light. The food is on the floor, the pictures are cracked, and the water is leaking from who knows where. Oh no... I hope everyone's okay... Can't say for Donald..., the bow-wearing duck thought, as she noticed Donald, who is already awake, cowardly in fear, keeping his eyes closed. Webby continued to walk around the wrecks in the houseboat as she then noticed something off about one of the pictures of Donald Duck. There was a small flow of black fluid.
Shocked but curious, she looked closer, and closer, and closer...
And closer...
To notice that the drops of fluid start to flow inside the boat. Now, frightened, the adventurous duck has no choice but to wake everyone up.
"Dewey, wake up! Wake up! We gotta get out of here! It's not safe!"
"Mmmhh... Webby, what happened- The boat is crumbling!", screamed the blue-wearing duck, "We need to get them out, fast!"
The rest woke up and noticed what's happening here.
"Boys, Webby, outside... Now...", ordered Bentina.
They followed the SHUSH agent's demand as they escape the black liquified houseboat. Bentina noticed the sailor, still hiding under the table, whimpering like a small and weak pup.
"No time for whimpering!", said Bentina, "Your boat might fall apart! We got to get out of here!"
"No, I'm not risking my life! I can't risk dying and leaving my boys all alone!", refused Donald.
The housemaid groans as she grabs Donald and takes him outside, fast, "Well, we're not going to let you drown or get electrocuted by anything from that boat."
As they leave the boat, the houseboat became nothing more than a black ice sculpture.
The gang was speechless from what just occurred. None of them dared to even say one word... Donald, getting off, walked near to his now-black-filled houseboat, dropping to his knees as he asked this question. "How did this happened?!"
Back with the two girls, the brunette and the girl with the highlight heads over to the McDuck Manor, to see if Webby's there.
"You sure your friend lives there with the richest dude in town," asked Glendy, saying the word "richest dude in town" with pizzazz, "Cause this place feels both sad and creepy at the same time."
"You do have a point. I mean usually, it's all cupcakes and rainbow most of the time", said Lena, "But not all of the time", then whispers, before speaking clearly, "But now, it's a quiet show."
The McDuck manor looked very odd since... 3 days after what happened.
"I mean look at this.", the young De Spell grabs onto the gates and shakes it, "It's beginning to rust-"
The gates begin to turn rusty black and fall apart, falling to the ground.
"Well, at least we don't have to call him to open the gates.", the brunette chuckles nervously.
The two girls walk over to the door of the McDuck Manor.
"Hello? Webby? Dewey? Huey? Louie? You home?", Lena looked for her friends in the empty manor.
"Wow, for a place so sad, it is well clean and sparkling.", admired Glendy, rubbing her feet in the carpet, "Anyways, where are your friends? You said they'll be here to hang out or something. Maybe, they're busy or asleep."
"That's not like Webby to ignore her best friend. But now that I think about it, no one hasn't answered the door, not even Ms. B.", said Lena, walking thru the hallways.
"You do have a point, Lena.", said Glendy, "Something is wrong. Very wrong."
The brunette suddenly noticed something.
"Look! One of the doors is opened!" the brunette was startled, "Someone doesn't know anything about privacy."
One of the doors was glowing, flashing from black to white, back and forth, rinse and repeat.
The two girls walked over to the door, looked for clues on the white flash and the glowing room.
"Something's not right, Dr. Macbeth. Something is definitely wrong.", said the brunette, looking at the imaginary doctor.
"Hey look, what's this?", Macbeth looks at the mysterious book.
The brunette grabs the book, "Gems with the Most Legendary Powers". She opens the book and flips through the book, looking at the gems. The brunette then found what seems to be ink on the next page.
"I see you found this gem book I saw a few days ago.", the girl with the pink highlight walked over the where the brunette is reading, "I know, I've snuck into this place for... Research. Hey, what's this page?"
The amulet holder sat next to the brunette as they read the next page.
"'The Crystal Eclipse'... Ooh! It's a classic!", said the brunette, alarming Lena for a bit, "'The crystal has been known for its many powers and holders. When separated, each will be given to one holder, with their separated powers but one same power. But with all of the crystal together, it'll give the owner all of its power, thus using it to control the moon and/or the sun. It'll only be dangerously powerful when the moon comes out at night.', and then it stops here."
"It's all covered up, from the front and the back.", noted Lena.
"Looks like you girls found my book."
The girls turned around to see the rich duck, sitting at his desk, and the hare assistant, standing next to him.
"You must be Scrooge McDuck, and you must be..."
"Rabecca Hopps."
"Rabecca Hopps!", the brunette smiled for a bit, before realizing something, "Wait a minute... Is that the crystal eclipse? It looks so different..."
"Oh, this? Well, I think black fits the mood for now. But that's not important right now.", said the rich duck, "We're planning for an upcoming special event."
"What a coincidence! I'm also planning for an event too!", mentioned Glendy, "It's a lunar eclipse event where it'll be my first time looking at the moon and taking a picture of it to remember it by."
"A lunar eclipse you say... I remember that one moment with that rival of mine. Managed to trap her somewhere where she'll never be freed.", the rich duck explains, "But ever since poor Della ended up disappearing in space and left me with the melancholy I've suffered for years, I've decided to do the opposite, something that I'd feared I'll do, doing something that my rival would've done... Using magic to bring the eclipse to me and summon a star to take me to where Della is."
The hare assistant feared for the worse, knowing how dangerous the crystal will be if connected to highly negative emotions. The brunette and Lena were both stunned by what Scrooge might do with the crystal.
"So... You'll be joining us for the eclipse.", asked the brunette.
"Well, sort of. But for it to work well, we need to get the competition out of the way. Say, brunette. Why don't you take the book and leave?", the rich duck gives the brunette the book.
Glendy holds onto the book, as Macbeth floats next to the brunette, "Gee, Vasquack. Guess we're the book holders now. Maybe you can hand it to me for-"
"Lena! Didn't know you'll be here too!", the two girls looked at the rest of the ducks, who are partially injured and covered with a little dust.
"Hey Webby, we just came here to check if you're home and then my new friend, Glendy Vasquack, met- Mr. McDuck?"
The amulet holder noticed the rich duck and the assistant disappeared.
A/N: Well, that's all for today. I might turn this oneshot into a series of chapters. Remember, this will have a surprise ending soon.
