You ever love somebody so much

You can barely breathe, when you're with them, you meet

And neither one of you, even know what hit 'em

Got that warm fuzzy feeling, yeah them chills, used to get 'em

They had started dating in sixth year. He didn't know when it had happened, but she had become almost tolerable. Eventually, he had worked up the courage to ask her out, which she was delighted to say yes to. It was wonderful. He was a better man because of her, and he loved her.

Now you're getting fucking sick, of looking at 'em

You swore you've never hit 'em, never do nothing to hurt 'em

Now you're in each other's face,

Spewing venom in your words, when you spit 'em

But that had ended soon enough. The Battle of Hogwarts had contributed, he supposed. But even two years later, her eyes, once full of love for him, were full of tears as he accused her again and again of being unfaithful. Looking back on it, he never understood why she stayed with him for so long.

You push, pull each other's hair, scratch, claw, bit 'em

Throw 'em down, pin 'em, so lost in the moments, when you're in 'em

It's the rage that took over it controls you both

He had lost it one night. She denied sleeping with the Weasel again, and he slapped her. But what he didn't expect was the fight that followed. They slapped, scratched, and threw spells at each other until both were hurt and neither could go on.

So they say it's best, to go your separate ways

Guess that they don't know ya 'cause today, that was yesterday

Yesterday is over, it's a different day

Sound like broken records, playin' over, but you promised her

She had left their house that night in tears. He cried himself to sleep, knowing that she should stay away from him, it would be better for her. But he wished he could apologize to her, tell her that he loved her, hug her and kiss her just like in sixth year.

Next time you'll show restraint

You don't get another chance

But he knew it didn't work that way. He had crossed a line, and could never go back. She would never love him again. And he had to accept that before it killed him.

Life is no Nintendo game, but you lied again

Now you get to watch her leave

Out the window, guess that's why they call it window pane

The next day, she showed up. He had tried apologizing, but he could see in her eyes that she didn't love him anymore. She took her things wordlessly and left through the window. Every night, he drank until he wasn't crying anymore, then passed out on the floor in order to escape to a dreamless sleep. But his sleep was rarely dreamless. Memories of the night that ruined him haunted him, and he woke up in a cold sweat, wishing she was there to comfort him, just like she used to. But he knew she never would be again. He, Draco Malfoy, loved Hermione Granger with all his heart, but he was too late. He knew she would never feel the same way again.
