Hello everyone! So, this is my very first fanfiction ever and it's a one shot set during Age of Ultron when they are all at the Barton's house and Bruce thinks he should leave but then Natasha finds out. And I really hope that you like it! Enjoy
She's the only one he wants...but he knows that she deserves so much more then him...and he knows that he could hurt her at any time...after johannesburg he just... doesn't trust himself anymore...he thinks he should run... it's the best for everyone...for her...so that he can't hurt her...all the nightmares...all the pain...what is he even doing now... walking towards the room where she is staying in the Barton's house...he should just leave...but it's to late...he already knocked on the door...
"Hi." Natasha said after she opened the door
"Hi." Bruce replied quietly
"Are you okay?" Natasha asked in a slightly worried tone
"Y-yeah. I'm fine." Bruce said "I...I was just saying good night..."
"We'll okay. Goodnight then."
"Goodnight." Bruce said and then Natasha shut the door
Bruce squeezed his eyes closed and breathed in deeply as he pulled at his hair
"What am I even doing?" Bruce asked as he walked back into the guest room and then tears started to spill at the nightmares filling his head
Hugging Natasha...and then green everywhere...muscles expanding...clothes ripping...and growing inch by inch until he's at least two feet taller then he was before...and then Natasha... slamming into the wall and falling onto the pavement covered in blood...her head falling to the side as her eyes go blank...
Tears slipped down his cheeks as he sat down next to his bed and looked out the window out into the woods... thoughts echoing in his mind
You don't deserve her...your a monster...you could kill her...just leave.. before it's to late...
"Bruce?" A voice called from the door
Bruce quickly turned his head towards the door to see Natasha
"Are you okay?" Natasha asked
"Yeah." Bruce replied, looking away and wiping the tears from his face "I'm fine."
"Don't lie. I know something's wrong. I could tell when you came to say goodnight." Natasha said
"I'm fine Natasha." Bruce said again, and then Natasha walked over and sat next to him
"You can tell me." Natasha said as she grabbed Bruce's hand in comfort
Tears started to fall down his face again as he closed his eyes "I just have to leave Natasha. I can't risk hurting you..."
"Don't leave. You would never hurt me Bruce." Natasha said
"Yes I would. I have before." Bruce stated
"That was an accident. And you didn't know me then." Natasha said
"I still hurt you Natasha..." Bruce exclaimed "...And after all of the people in johannesburg I just..I can't risk that happening again...and I can't risk hurting you.."
"You wouldn't hurt me Bruce. She was messing with your mind. You weren't in control." Natasha said
"That could still happen again. I could still hurt you." Bruce said
"No you wouldn't."
"Yes I would!" Bruce yelled as tears flowed down his face and onto the floor, and he started to shake
"Bruce..." Natasha said after a moment when Bruce didn't say anything "Bruce...Bruce look at me."
Bruce raised his head and opened his eyes and looked at Natasha as more tears ran down his face and as his vision started becoming green
"I'm sorry..." Bruce said as he backed up against the wall and started breathing heavily
"I'm sorry..." Bruce said again as he shook and gasped for air
"Bruce?" Natasha asked with worry as she crawled over to him
"I'm sorry Natasaha...I'm so sorry..." Bruce said, squeezing his eyes shut as tears went down his cheeks
"Bruce-" Natasha began
"Please Natasaha." Bruce gasped as he pulled in his hair and then looked up into her eyes with his bright green ones "Leave. I don't want to hurt you"
"I'm not leaving." Natasha said
"Ahhh!" Bruce yelled as his muscles started expanding and becoming green, ripping through his shirt "Natasha!"
"No! no! This couldn't be happening! I-I can't hurt her! I can't!" Bruce thought as he fought control over the Hulk
"Bruce!" Natasha shouted, grabbing Bruce "Bruce listen to me!"
Bruce looked up at her, eyes fully green and tears streaming down his face.
"You have to fight him. You can beat him. You're stronger then he is." Natasha said as she held into Bruce
"No. Please. Natasaha. Please. I don't want to hurt you. Please." Bruce said as he fought the Hulk inside his mind
"You won't hurt me." Natasha said as he grabbed him and put her head against his "Just breath."
Bruce breathed in and breathed out, trying to regain control before he transformed
"That's it." Natasha said after a couple minutes as Bruce's breathing slowed down "It's okay. You're okay."
"I'm so sorry Natasaha!" Bruce said as his tears hit the floor
"It's okay." Natasha said in reply "You're okay."
"I'm not okay. I need to leave. I can't hurt you." Bruce stated after a few moments, turning away from Natasha and closing his eyes
"I need to." Bruce said, wiping the tears from his face "I have to leave."
"No no please don't." Natasha said as she grabbed his hands
"Why Natasha..Why shouldn't I leave.. I'm a threat to everyone... And no one will miss me anyway..."
"I will." Natasha said and Bruce looked up at her with disbelief
"I will..." Natasha admitted as he pulled him close "...I would miss you...the truth is...I love you ."
"Natasha how could you love me? I'm a monster." Bruce asked, looking away from her
"No you're not." Natasaha stated "You're the most amazing, generous, selfless, kindest person I have ever met..."
"No I'm not.." Bruce said, looking down and then closing his eyes "Just let me leave..."
"Don't leave..." Natasha said "Please..."
"I can't..."
"Please stay with me Bruce...you won't hurt me." Natasha said as she closed her eyes and hugged him "Please..."
"...I want to stay with you Natasha..but I can't...I don't want to hurt you again..." Bruce saud
"You won't hurt me...please Bruce...just stay with me..." Natasha said again, moving closer to him "I need you..."
Bruce slowly leaned forward towards Natasha, closing the gap in between them
"I need you to..." Bruce whispered in reply and then slowly put his lips onto hers passionately
Natasha put her arms around Bruce, bringing him closer to her as they kissed. Then Bruce did the same, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her onto him
"I love you Bruce." Natasha gasped through the kiss
"I love you to Natasha." Bruce replied, breaking the kiss for a moment, and then rejoining it
They stayed there on the ground for a couple minutes, kissing, until they finally pulled away
"So...will you stay..." Natasha asked after a moment as she looked into Bruce's eyes
Bruce smiled "Yes...I will."
