[FINAL VALLEY]

It was near dusk and the rain was ready to come down on the valley. Where the sounds of a fight echoed throughout between two statues. Sasuke Uchiha, the survivor of the massacre of his clan, self proclaimed avenger. Naruto Uzumaki, container of the Nine-Tailed Fox, self proclaimed future hokage. One fighting for future vengeance, the other fighting for a friend. Both rough and strong, but only one would leave.

"This is the end Naruto, if I have to kill you in order to get the power I require from Orochimaru then you leave me with no choice." The now second stage Sasuke said as he began making the hand signs for his Chidori. Naruto being in his cloaked form only growled with a solemn look on his feral face. Moving his hand back to conjure up his Rasengan. The two looking each other in the eyes, before leaping into the air at one another.

"NARUTOOOOOO!!!"

"SASUKEEEEEEE!!!"

They shouted with determination as their signature moves clashed in mid air. Both shinobi fought for what they believed in. But for one, it wasn't enough. After they were stalemate for a while, only one made their mark. Sasuke plunged his hand into Naruto's chest. Making its way through the young blonde's back, coated in black lightning and blood. His black and red eyes met the eyes of what was once his comrade. Only to be shocked to see not anger or hatred in his eyes, but sadness and pain.

After landing on the water Sasuke's former cold dimenor melted away as he looked down at the dying Naruto. "Why...why couldn't you have just left me alone...why couldn't you have just let me go?" He said as the rain came down. Masking the tears that were coming from his eyes. "I couldn't…" Naruto said lightly, "I couldn't stop myself...seeing you alone like I am...we were so much alike...I couldn't bear to let you go to him and throw your life away…" He was saying before coughing up blood. Inside the Fox was angered...and scared. The boy he was in was going to die and couldn't do anything to stop it. He was sinking into the hands of the shinigami and there was no way out. "Damn that man...damn that hokage...damn that woman...and damn this child...I...I am going to die...and by an Uchiha...damn clan."

Once Naruto's eyes closed, his breathing and heartbeat stopped. And in that moment, Sasuke could feel something change. His eyes rushed with power and his heart was torn in half. He had activated his mangekyou, but at what cost? After shutting his eyes he screamed for the first time in so long. Not in rage, but in despair and regret. Letting out all his sadness and grief out for once, the wisps of the Susanoo forming around him. The flare of which got Kakashi's attention to where they were. Once he had arrived he could see the back of Sasuke kneeling at the side of someone. Once close enough he was horrified to see Naruto's lifeless body.

"I'm sorry...I'm sorry Naruto…" Sasuke said quietly while looking down at the only one who called him a friend. Kakashi taking this opportunity chopped the back of the young Uchiha's neck. Rendering him unconscious before the white-haired Jonin picked both of his students up. "Kushina, Minato sensei...I'm sorry...I have failed your son" Kakashi thought before making his way back to Konoha. "How am I going to tell Tsunade...Sakura...and the others?" He asked himself as he neared the village gate. Slowing down to walk as he could see the rest of the Konoha twelve. In the front of the group was Sakura.

The pink-haired girl smiled to see Kakashi carrying her teammates. Thinking that they were both just tired and needed to be held. Running up to him however she could see the depressing look of Kakashi, despite that she could only see his one eye. "Kakashi-sensei?" Was all she could say before Tsunade, Shizune, and a few medics came over to him. The medics began attempting to take Sasuke from Kakashi's grip, but he wouldn't have it. "Back away." Tsunade said sternly as she approached them. Walking past the medics she knelt down with Kakashi. Laying them on the ground she looked at Naruto and her heart sank. She didn't have to look closely to realize what had happened to him.

"I was too late" said Kakashi quietly, not even able to look up from the ground. "I had failed them Lady Tsunade...I…" He was then cut off by a punch that had sent him a good distance away from the village gate. He didn't have to look to know that Tsunade did it with tears flowing from her eyes. "Damn it...I knew it was bad enough that you had taught that jutsu to him...but now...this is the third time I have lost someone!" The sadness and grief in her voice was evidence enough to the rest of the young shinobi. That Naruto, the gutsy blonde, their comrade, their friend, had died against Sasuke. They all spoke their reaction to this sudden news in their own way.

Tenten held her hands over her mouth. "Oh my god."

Lee punched a wall. "No...it can't be"

Shino looked to the ground. "How could he?"

Shikamaru grit his teeth. "Damn it."

Hinata dropped to her hands and knees with tears in her eyes. "Naruto-Kun!"

Sakura was wide eyed in horror and disbelief, Ino helping to keep her standing. "H...he wouldn't...Sasuke wouldn't."

Gara looked at the motionless body. His eyes finally started to have tears after so long. "You tried to save him until the end, Naruto. Just like you did with me."

While they reacted to the news Kakashi stood up and walked back to Tsunade. Who's tears were still flowing down her cheeks. "Take Sasuke Uchiha to the hospital under arrest and guarded by Anbu. No one is to go into his room but me and you." She told Kakashi as he nodded. Picking up the unconscious Uchiha without looking at her. Before turning to her with his one eye full of depression. "And Naruto? What would you wish for him?" He asked with a quiet voice, like his heart was in his throat. "I will take him with me...and give him a proper burial. Before telling the whole village the truth they are so blind to." She replied before picking him up and walked him past his friends and the crowd of villagers. Of whom decided to let their thoughts and reliefs out that the demon fox/brat was finally dead.

It took every shred of her will to not just kill them all with her bare hands and feet. Not knowing how to tell the news to Kiba, Choji, and Neji. But as she walked up to the Hokage building she was stopped by the likes of Danzo and the village elders. "You realize we are now without a weapon now Tsunade, the balance of power has" "I don't want to fucking hear it Danzo so you, Homura, and Koharu can just shut your mouths before you no longer have any!" Tsunade said out of pure rage. Looking at all three of them with killing intent before walking past the hokage building and to under the fourth Hokage's stone face. Where two patches of dirt have been. Taking the moment to reflect all that Naruto had done for her before preparing a funeral.
