Episode 1: What?! Not my club

"The darkness, my only true friend. Loneliness, is an old acquaintance. My emotions are gone, discarded after endless pain. My body is a tomb, and I desperately wish to escape" a girl with long black hair says as she lays in the dark on a bunch of desks. She has blue eyes, one of which is covered by her hair, and she's wearing a school uniform. Suddenly, a door opens and light pours in as 2 guys walk in the room, and reveal a classroom, that's empty besides the girl. One guy has shaggy brown hair, and green eyes, and is also wearing a school uniform. He's got a lazy look, and a school bag slung over his shoulder. The other guy is a taller guy, with slightly longer black hair and glasses. He's got a slightly muscular build, and a stiffened stance, and he's also wearing a school uniform. "AHHH! What the heck! Close the door" the girl says. The lazy looking guy flips a light switch on. "NOOO! IM NOCTURNAL, TURN IT OFFFFF" she says. "It's time for our meet up though" says the guy in glasses. The girl smiles. "Ah, the only two people I can stand" she says. "For now you mean" the lazy guy says jokingly as he shuts the door. "Got my controller" the girl says as she pulls out a controller. "Hell yeah, let's party" says the lazy looking guy as he pulls out a controller. "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we should address this note they put on the door" the guy says as he holds up a piece of paper. The lazy looking guy looks at it, and his face sinks. "What is it guys" the girl asks. "Your...not gonna wanna read this" he says. She takes it, and reads it. "Dear members of the "Outcast club". You hearby have 1 month to show progress of your group, or the school will be forced to shut your club down". "What's this" she asks angrily. "Weeeeell, I mean, it's not like we do anything" the lazy looking guy says. "We haven't accomplished a single thing, nor recruited a single member since our founding 2 years ago" says the guy in glasses. "So what? I don't like anyone else. I just wanna keep it us three" she says. "Well, we cheated by keeping Kanjo's name in the form for a while, but since he hasn't been here for a single meeting in 2 years, the school has officially stricken his name out. We don't have enough members to keep afloat" says the lazy looking guy. "I'm glad your actually thinking about an important problem" says the guy in glasses. "Nah, I'm gonna play some games and slack off for the rest of the clubs time" he says as he plops down, and plugs his controller in. "Isn't there anything we can do? I don't wanna lose this" the girl says. "We just need to do something right? We haven't done anything in 2 years. If we accomplish something great, maybe they'll be impressed enough to let us keep the club" says the lazy looking guy. "Wrong" a girl says as she throws open the door. She's got long blonde hair, a confident stance, and a gorgeous figure, and she's wearing a school uniform. She's also wearing a pair of glasses. The lazy looking guy whistles. "Someone call a fireman because that chick is on fire" he says. The blonde girl smiles confidently, and flips her hair out of her face. "I take it your the one who gave us this" the guy in glasses asks as he holds up the paper. "Indeed. Takumi Sadaya, (Looks at the lazy looking guy) Yuto Matoko, (Looks at the guy in glasses), and Kayako Runo, (Looks at the girl) your groups days are numbered. You have exactly 28 days to at least double your numbers, and show a willingness to at least try other school activities. Failure to comply will result in your groups termination" says the blonde girl. "Why? We aren't hurting anyone" says Takumi. "That's not true. The school itself takes a hit for allowing this group to remain running. It damages it's image. Besides, even if it were, the school has other clubs and groups that wish to be founded, but we don't have the classrooms. Like I said, 28 days is all this group has left" she says. "Alright, which group are you part of? I wanna join that one" Takumi says. Kayako elbows his side. The blonde girl smiles. "Sure, we'd be happy to have you. All you need to do is quit this group. After losing a member, this group will sink for sure" she says. Kayako grabs his arm. "Takumi, please don't go. This group means more to me than you'll ever know. Your all I've got" she says as she clenches tightly. "I'm not trying to make your decision for you Takumi, but I'm part of a writers club. I know about your natural talent for writing, and I would love to read some of your work sometime. Just think about it" the girl says. Takumi rubs the back of his head, but pulls the other two in and smiles. "Nah, I'm gonna ride out my 28 days in style" he says. The blonde girl nods. "Alright, but whenever you're ready, my club is always open to you. There's lots of pretty girls too-" she starts. Takumi let's go of his friends. "Well, she said the magic words. You guys are on your own" he says jokingly. Yuto and Kayako both smack him. The girl walks away, and Kayako does a gagging motion. "Fake" she says. "How so" asks Yuto. "What is" asks Takumi. "She is" says Kayako. "What makes you think that" asks Yuto. "Little miss hair flip and flirt showing up at our club room and talks to Takumi? I don't buy it" Kayako says. "Hey, maybe she actually has appreciation for my stories" Takumi says in an insulted tone. "You are indeed an amazing writer. Your imagination seems to be limitless, however, it does seem a little convenient that-" starts Yuto. "Whaaaatever. Come on, let's play a game already" says Takumi. Kayako turns on her game system, and Yuto pulls out a controller, but stops and shakes his head. "No! We must do something to save our club. We haven't the time for-" he starts. "Already on it. We'll use the game to help recruit. At least we know we'll have something in common with whoever it is" says Takumi. "NOOOO. I don't like people and you know it" says Kayako. "We really don't have a choice. It's either this, or watch the group go byebye" says Takumi. Kayako sighs, and Yuto turns on his wireless controller. "Alright, we need an online, cross platform MMORPG. That's a pretty good way to meet new people. Then we'll just look for player tags that match our area codes and go from there" says Takumi. "Hold on, that's a lot of words you just threw at me" says Kayako. "We're gonna need to play a game we can connect with other players on" Yuto clarifies. Kayako scrolls over to a horror game. "Let's play Sleepy Slumber house" she says. "What kind of people are you wanting to join this group? Pass. Let's play (scrolls over to a an action game) Death, Destruction, and Destiny. This, is a badass game" he says. "I hate games like this. It's just an endless survival game" says Kayako. "That's right. It's you, your friends, your guns, and billions of demons and monsters" says Takumi. "No, I don't wanna play that" she says. "Perhaps we should play my suggestion" Yuto says as he scrolls over to a peaceful looking game with weird animals on the front. "Creature Keeper 4, the perfect way to relax" he says. "Get real, where's the violence" asks Takumi. "We need blood" says Kayako. "And gore" says Takumi. Yuto sighs. "Hey wait, what's that one" Takumi asks as he points to game that has medieval characters on the front. Kayako goes into the game details. "This is an MMORPG called "Outland". It's a cross platform slasher. Honestly it works" says Kayako. "Well, we'll need to use different platforms. Good thing I brought my laptop" Takumi says as he pulls out a laptop. "I'll use the school computer" Yuto says as he sits at a nearby computer. They all log in, and create characters. "Alright, let's see what you guys did for character designs" says Takumi. Yuto and Kayako both move so he can see the screen, and he sighs. On Yuto's screen, there is a beautiful girl with brown hair, and barbarian gear. On Kayako's screen, she's playing as a creepy looking guy, with pure white hair, pale skin, and warlock clothes. "Uh, why the gender switches" asks Takumi. "You know how I feel about being stuck in this body. This is the true me, dark, alone-" she starts. "Creepy" says Takumi. "I for one simply wanted to use a female avatar. I see no problem" says Yuto. "We're supposed to be recruiting members. Shouldn't our guys be a little more...realistic" asks Takumi. "It's important to enjoy yourself as well. Now then. What did you create" asks Yuto. Takumi turns his laptop around, and there's an avatar, with an extremely long backstory typed in. His avatar is a scrawny guy, with shaggy black hair, a bow on his back, and swords on his side. "Leave it to you to create a whole life for an avatar" says Kayako. The three link up a party, and start the game. From the games perception, the 3 walk into town, and look around. "Not bad, I enjoy how much detail they put into even the little things" Yuto says. Takumi nudges Yuto, and points at a brothel. "I wonder how much detail" Takumi asks. "Th-thats is inappropriate" says Yuto. The three see an exclamation point above a girls head. "Bingo. Easy quest time" says Takumi. "Huh" asks Kayako. "First town, default pretty girl, obvious location. That's a starter quest. We better nab it now. We'll have to wait for another one if another party snatches it" says Takumi as they walk over to the girl. She holds out a scroll, and Takumi goes to take it, as well as a guy with shaggy brown hair, in armor, and carrying a sword. They accidentally bump hand, and both guys pull their hands back. "Oh, sorry my bad. It's yours, I insist" says Takumi. "Nah, it's fine. I'm already level 2, I was just level grinding since this place was pretty dead" says the other guy. "We could compromise. If you help us with the quest, you get to level train, and my party gets it done faster" says Takumi. "Hmm. Yeah, sure. I'll party with you. Names Rugi" says the guy. "Rugi" asks Takumi. "Yeah. Always reread your name before you hit conform" Rugi says with a laugh, and Takumi laughs too. Takumi leads Rugi over to the group, and soon, Rugi slays one last monster, and takes a deep breath. Suddenly, a bell rings. "Uh oh, I gotta go guys. Later" Rugi says as he logs out. Takumi smiles, and the three look at each other in the real world. "Is club time seriously over" asks Kayako. "Yes, I at least wanted to gain a single level" says Yuto. "We found something better" says Takumi. "Like" asks Yuto. "The new guy, Rugi, the bell rang on that end too. Rugi goes to this school" says Takumi. "So? We partied with him once and now he's your best friend" asks Kayako. "He actually was pretty cool, annnnd in case you didn't remember, we only have 28 days to get 3 members. Why would we pass up this opportunity" asks Takumi. "I'm afraid Takumi has a point. Whether or not we actually recruit this "Rugi", we should at least investigate. Did he happen to say what his real name was" asks Yuto. "Nope. Tomorrow I'm gonna ask him though, sucks though, we need some chicks in here. Kayako doesn't even want to be a chick, so it's a total sausage fest right now" says Takumi. "Why is it always girls, girls, girls with you" asks Kayako. "I like girls. They're pretty, they're nice, and I like talking to them sometimes" says Takumi. "They also lie, cheat, and backstab" says Kayako. "That's humanity in general" says Takumi. "Yeah, but girls do it more" says Kayako. "I don't get your thing with girls either. I get not wanting to-" starts Takumi. "I'm taking initiative and stopping this here. I know how you two can get, and it's not worth it" says Yuto. "I can't "just drop things" and you know it" says Kayako. "That's alright, I'm an expert at dropping things. I'm gonna start with this whole conversation" says Takumi. "Wait, I wasn't trying to-" starts Kayako. Takumi walks out of the room, and looks at his phone. He's got a text, and checks it. "Hi, it's Maranè Yusa. I spoke to you earlier about your club. I wanted to let you know, offer is always open. I'll even read your stuff sometimes, club or no. Just a writer helping out a writer" it says. Takumi just stares down at his phone. The next day, Yuto and Kayako wait around the club room, and Yuto finally looks at his watch. "15 minutes without so much as a "I'm late" text" says Yuto. "Is he really not coming back because of yesterday? If he would have listened, I was trying to explain-" she starts. The door slides open, and both look at the door exitedly, but are disappointed to see a male teacher standing there. He's a slightly heavier man, with glasses, a mustache, and he's bald on top of his head (with hair on the back and sides still). He's wearing a white button up, with a blue tie, black pants, and dark shoes. "I see your just as unproductive as usual" he says. "I see your hair still won't take you back. Break ups are hard huh" asks Kayako. "Laugh it up girl. In 27 days, I get to gleefully hang up a piece of paper that says goodbye forever. With your rock bottom grades, rocky attendance, and now this, you'll be sunk" he says. "Oh come now, don't hardass my students, or I'll kick ass you" says a woman's voice. The guy jumps and spins around to see a woman with long black hair standing there. She's wearing a white sweatshirt, over a long green skirt that goes all the way down to the floor. "Y-You watch your tongue woman! I'm-" he starts. She punches a hole in the wall right beside his head. "Did you need me to repeat that" she asks. "N-No ma'am. Y-You have a good one" he says until he gets out of sight. "Filthy strong armed woman, thinks she's special because she was a member of the military-" the guy starts as he walks down the hall muttering to himself. She rolls her eyes, and walks into the room. She practically slams the door shut, and takes off the sweatshirt to reveal a black tank top, and the skirt to reveal jeans and combat boots. "Finally, I was roasting in there. Imma crack a window kiddos, gotta smoke" she says as she pulls out a cigarette, throws open a window, and lights it. "Hey, where's string bean at today" she asks. "He's not in class either" asks Yuto. "No, I thought he was skipping with you two. I actually came to get him" she says. "I'll call him, let me just-" starts Yuto. The teacher holds up her phone, and waves it around. "Already tried. Straight to voicemail everytime" she says. "That's really not like him" says Kayako. The teacher makes a call. "Hi, Mrs. Sadaya? This is Ms. Tamazuchi, I'm your son's homeroom teacher. He wasn't in class today, have you seen him?...No? His friends haven't either. Please keep an eye out, and let me know if you see him...uh huh, this number is fine...Yes, thank you. Goodbye" she says as she hangs up, crosses her arms, and hangs her head. "Not good news" asks Yuto. "His mother said he never made it to her house last night. She texted him and checked on him, and he said he was at your house. She didn't even know he was missing from school today" she says. "Why is he worrying everyone like this? It's not fair" says Kayako. "I'm gonna call him again" Ms. Tamazuchi says. She calls, and it goes to voicemail, and a ding is heard outside the door. They all 3 walk out, and see Takumi's bag right outside the door, with his cellphone sticking out. "Th-thats Takumi's" says Kayako. "I've never seen that kid go anywhere without this. All his writing stuff is on here" says Ms. Tamazuchi. "How would you know that" asks Kayako. "I read his stuff. Kids got some talent, at least until I cave in his skull for worrying me" she says. Kayako leans against a wall, and Yuto grabs her shoulder. "Kayako, your alright right" asks Yuto. "Who me? (Giggles). I couldn't be better. My clubs being ripped apart, one of my best friends is missing, and I'm completely powerless" she says with a crazy look in her eyes. Yuto takes a few steps back. "Ahem, we should probably lure Takumi out the best way I know. With a lady" says Yuto. "I'm not objectifying myself, friend or no" says Kayako. Ms. Tamazuchi sighs, and puts her cigarette out on her palm. "Fine, hold this" she says as she hands Kayako the ciggerette. Shs takes off the tank top and stands in the hallway in only her bra. "Alright kid, you want some come get it, but you only have 10 seconds so book it" she says. No reaction. "Okay, if that didn't work, he's not here" says Yuto. "Wait, you weren't actually going to let him touch you were you" asks Kayako. "Of course not, I'm a teacher" she says as she throws her shirt back on. "But, once he graduates-" she starts. Kayako covers her ears. "Nooooope. I don't want to hear it" she says. A girl walks down the hallway with her phone up to her ear. She's got longer black hair, that's brushed off over her left eye, and she has a ponytail in the back. She's got s scrawny body, and she's wearing a black shirt, with a black leather jacket, a black skirt, with long black leggings, and black steel toed leather boots. She stops by Takumi's bag. "Urgh! You've got to be kidding me. Figures he would ditch his phone" she says. "Who are you" asks Kayako. "Your nightmare, don't you remember me" the girl asks sarcastically. "You are looking for Takumi correct" asks Yuto. She looks him over. "You look nothing like him, so don't pull it" she says. "Oh, I'm afraid your mistaken. I'm Takumi's friend, do you know where he's at" asks Yuto. "No, if I did, I wouldn't be here staring down a bookbag" she says. "Who are you? Some girl he met online" asks Kayako. "None of your business. Obviously he's not here so I'm going to his house" she says as she starts walking away. "Hey wait! May we accompany? We're looking for him ourselves" says Yuto. "Can't stop you...scratch that, could stop you, won't bother" she says. Yuto gulps. "Well shit, guess if you kids are leaving I'm back on teacher duty" says Ms. Tamazuchi. "Your a teacher? What do they teach here" asks the girl. "Not how to shower I'll tell you that" Ms. Tamazuchi says as she throws back on the sweatshirt and skirt. "Wait! Your cigarette" says Kayako. "Finish it for me" Ms. Tamazuchi says as she walks away. "I can't believe that woman teaches our students" says Yuto. The 3 head off, and arrive at Takumi's house. They get up to the front door, and Kayako knocks. There's no response. The girl looks in the window, and her eyes widen. "TAKI" she yells. Yuto looks in, and sees a table tipped over, and Takumi laying on the ground. "Takumi! Stand back ladies" says Yuto. They stand back, and he charges into the door, faceplants, and slides down. Kayako turns the doorknob, and opens it. "O-Oh. My apologies" he says. "On the plus side? You probably didn't hurt that door a bit" the girl says as they walk in, and the girl rushes up to Takumi. "Meds, meds, where's your meds Taki" she asks as she looks around. "Meds? I wasn't aware he took medication" says Yuto. "He has blackout spells. He doesn't take them sometimes the idiot (sees them on a table, and grabs them). Alright, now pill crusher" she says as she grabs the pill crusher and tosses in the meds she needs. "I think he can probably swallow them" says Kayako. "Nope. Taki hates pills, gags them right back up. He's got to drink them in a powdered form" she says as she pours a cup of water and dumps the powder in. She takes it over to him, and lifts his head. She has him drink a little, and shakes him. "Taki! Taki! Please get up, you need to drink this" she says. He slowly lifts his head and looks around. "Is it morning already" he asks. The girl punches his shoulder. "Dumbass! Stupid! Why? You have these for a reason" she says as she holds up the pills. "Oh come on sis, you know I don't like-" he starts. "I don't care what you like. Drink the water, take your meds" she says. He sighs and drinks the water, then she helps him up. "I thought you were some girl from online" says Kayako. "I never said that. You asked, and I told you it was none of your business. This is my twin brother" she says. "I don't get it, you didn't notice him when you left the house" asks Kayako. "Me and Taki live separately, and no, I don't wanna talk about it, so drop it (gives him a hug). Please be more careful Taki. I was so worried" says the girl. "I'm sorry Totska. You guys too...hey, anyone seen my bag" he asks. "You left it at school. Forgetfulness is one of your warning signs that you need to take the meds" says Totska. Takumi rubs the back of his head. Totska looks around. "Pretty clean around here, but it still needs a lady's touch. Want me to-" she starts. "No thanks sis" Takumi says. He stands up, but quickly tumbles down and crashes into the table again. Totska rushes over, helps him up, and leads him over to a couch. "You haven't been eating properly either. I swear it's like your trying to give me grey hair" Totska says as she walks out in the kitchen. Kayako and Yuto walk up to Takumi, and Kayako crosses her arms. "Why aren't you taking your medicine" she asks. "I don't like it. It taste aweful, and I make it okay for the most part-" he starts. "Okay? You think that was okay? Everyone was worried sick, and they had every reason to be with you unconscious in your house" says Kayako. "I-" he starts. "I'm not finished! Ms. Tamazuchi was worried sick, she even embarrassed herself in the hallway over you, and now we only have 26 days to save the club. Don't do reckless stuff like that" says Kayako. Yuto tosses Takumi his phone. "I thought about grabbing the whole bag, but I knew that would be your primary concern" he says. Takumi looks at his phone, and his eyes widen. "That's...a lot of people" he says. He turns his phone around, and a whole bunch of random names are asking about him, and making sure he was okay. He starts swiping through them, and reaches a thread by Ms. Tamazuchi. "Hey asshole, I'm worried about you, so get to class already before I have to kick your ass". Ms. Tamazuchi's closest thing to being a softy" he says as he texts her and let's her know he's okay. As soon as her phone goes off, she looks at it, and takes a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness. Kid almost gave me a heart attack" she says. Takumi scrolls down a little more. "Yuto "Takumi, I'm aware your free spirited, and wish to roam, but we miss you in here. You've been my best friend for a long time, and I want you to know, you may speak with me about anything" how touching" says Takumi. Yuto looks a little embarrassed. Takumi scrolls down a little. "Holy crap" says Takumi. "What" asks Yuto. "Yusa, I probably got over 100 messages from her" he says. "I bet it's all "join my club" or "think I'm pretty" says Kayako. "Hey", "Takumi, are you alright? I didn't see you at school today", "Please answer me, I'm getting worried, and rumor has it you don't take your meds often", "Takumi, if your reading this, I called an ambulance to your mother's house. Hopefully she gives them your address", "Hey Takumi, I'm on my way to your house to make sure your okay. Your mother wouldn't give the squad your info, so I'm coming on foot. Be there in 10...hey that was just 8 minutes ago-" starts Takumi. Suddenly, there's a knock on the door. "Takumi! Hello? It's Yusa" Yusa yells from the other side of the door. Takumi goes to stand up, but Yuto stops him. "Take it easy. I'll get the-" he starts. Totska walks over and opens the front door. "Oh, um, this is Takumi's house right" she asks. "Yeah. Sorry he wasn't at school today. He had a blackout because he didn't take his meds" says Totska. "Oh goodness. Are you alright Takumi? I brought you something to help you feel better. I wasn't sure if you were sick, so it's chicken noodle soup" she says. Takumi scrolls through his phone, and comes to the last message, which is from Totska. "Huh. Nothing from Kayako. (Sighs) Should have figured" he says. Totska walks up with a bowl of chicken noodle soup. "You should eat. One of your friends brought you something to recover. She said she was a writer too" says Totska. "Yusa? Yeah, I think she's great" says Takumi. "What's so special about her" asks Kayako. Takumi says nothing, just goes for the soup. "Hey Taki, I talked to mom about it. I'm moving back in with you. It's obvious you need me around to make sure you take care of yourself" says Totska. "I can do it on my own" he says. "You can, but don't. Don't argue with me, I'm moving in and that's final. I wanna make sure someone's taking care of you" she says. "Hey wait, sis, can I ask you a favor please? It's really important to me" says Takumi. "Anything for you Taki, what's up" she asks. "Join my club. We need 3 members to save it on the next 26 days" says Takumi. "How about a deal? I get to move in, if I join your club. It'll put both our minds at ease that way" says Totska. Takumi sighs. "Fine, just try to keep the mothering to a minimum" he says. "I do not mother you. (Fixes his shirt color). I'm trying to be a good supportive sister" she says. "Hang on, I vote against it. We'll find other members" says Kayako. "I'm afraid we don't have the luxury for denials. Welcome to the club miss Totska" says Yuto. She takes his hand, and shakes it, earning them their next member.
