Riley thought about Samantha. He hadn't thought about a girl this much since Buffy. But he couldn't compare the two women, each was a person in her own right and he couldn't make one into the other. But Riley had been hurt before by loss. Losing Buffy, seeing his best friend Forrest die. Riley wondered if it was better to just not get attatched. Riley had a hard time sleeping this night. At one point, when he wasn't sure if he was awake or asleep he saw Forrest.

.

Riley: Why are you here?

Forrest: You need my advice. So I'm here to help.

Riley: Even after what I did to you?

Forrest: Adam killed me, then he brought back my worst qualities, you didn't kill me.

Riley: Still I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to say goodbye.

Forrest: Me too. Anyway, it's clear, even up there, that you like this Samantha girl.

Riley: Maybe. But I don't know. What if I get hurt again?

Forrest: That's a possibility. But you should find some happiness while you can.

Riley: Why, do you know something specific.

Forrest: What I know, is that none of us know how long we have. And maybe I'm biased but I think Sam is better for you than Buffy. Take a chance. Tell Sam how you feel.

Riley: You always felt the need to give me advice on my love life. Truth is you were right more often than I liked to admit. I'll tell her how I feel. Are you okay, up there?

Forrest: Yeah. I hope to see you up here too in 50 years.

Riley: I'll try. I'm glad we at least have the chance to say goodbye this time.

Forrest: Me too. Goodbye my friend.

Riley: Goodbye, friend.
