WAM!

Tailtiu jumped at the sound of the door forcefully opening. 'Who was at the door anyway?' She thought. She couldn't go up to check, however, as she looked over at Arthur in the crib, he was just waking up. Taking him out of the crib she carried him over her shoulder, patting his back.

Then, she heard a familiar voice behind her. "Ah, Tailty, it's been a while."

When she turned around, her mouth gaped open. "Oh, Lewyn! You're okay!" She proceeded to stand up, her son still in her arms. Upon noticing Lewyn's injured state, her expression changed to a more panicked one. "Oh, gods...you're a mess...please, sit down, I can heal you." She said as she looked for her staff.

"No...please, I'll manage, you take care of Arthur."

"I can't allow that! Here, I'll put Arthur back in his crib, I don't care if he complains, he can withstand it for a bit." She insisted.

The bard sighed in defeat. "Oh, Tailty, you're so stubborn. Well, alright."

"Good!" Tailtiu guided him to the chair and then looked for her mend staff, as she was looking for it, she asked. "Now, tell me, what happened back there?"

"We lost...Lord Sigurd is dead…" He muttered, wincing at the current pain.

The thunder mage stopped short. "He...Lord Sigurd...died, you say…?"

He nodded to clarify. "Yes...Arvis he, he betrayed everyone. And then launched an attack on the entire army. Not everyone made it out alive, and the ones who did...well...I don't know who exactly…"

"...I...he...Lord Arvis…? Oh, gods...I can't imagine how Azel must feel...I hope he's even alive at this point. And Lex...oh, Lex…"

"Tailty I-ow…" Lewyn groaned in pain, which caused Tailtiu to panic more and with enough looking, she finally found the staff. "There, I found it! Now please, hold still for me…"

Tailtiu had only learned the basics of healing from Edain, but she knew it would be enough to at least make her husband feel less pain. So, doing her best to focus, she closed her eyes and concentrated on healing him.

After enough time passed, Tailtiu opened her eyes and breathed a sigh of relief. Lewyn was okay, he needed some time for the other wounds to heal, but it would be enough for now. Putting down her staff, she sat down. "If I may ask, what happened to you? You don't look like you've been hit with fire magic…your wounds, they're deeper than that, no fire magic could do that."

"Oh...well...as I was fleeing to Silesse. I got ambushed by somebody by the name of Manfroy…" Lewyn paused, trying to remember the exact events that happened. "I only managed to escape thanks to Forseti's power, I knew that I would die if I continued to fight him-"

After he said that, Tailtiu hugged him tightly, unable to let go. "Oh, Lewyn...please, be careful...I..I almost lost you…"

"But I'm here, am I not? I meant it when I said I'd claw my way out of hell to come back to you."

"...I...if you were to have died...I don't know what I'd be able to do...especially when Tinni isn't even out in the world yet."

Lewyn only smiled. "You worry too much Tailty...like I said all that matters is that I'm alive, and I get to spend time with Arty, and soon enough, Tinni."

"Yeah, maybe finally we can all be happy."

"Papa! You're back!" Arthur cooed, climbing up on his lap, before noticing the sad look in his father's eyes. "Why are you so sad?"

"Oh, Arty…" Lewyn stopped for a minute, he didn't want to make his son sad. "I'm just...happy to be back here. To see you again, and finally get to spend time with you."

"Will you be there for Tinni too?" Arthur asked, looking at his mother's swollen belly.

"Of course I will!" Lewyn then hugged his son, ruffling his hair. "I'll be there for you no matter what. That's a promise!"

Arthur hugged Lewyn again, before saying. "Thank you, Papa."

Perhaps for a time, they would be a happy family.

Currently, it was quiet in the little house they lived in, it was isolated enough so nobody would ever notice it was there. Lewyn decided to live in isolation, For Tailtiu. Which would most definitely make the Silessian Pegasus Knights look for him again. But really, if Tailtiu wasn't actively being looked for, he would've willingly ruled Silesse.

He knew he was bringing shame to his family, but what harm would that do at that point? He left before, he can leave again. Besides, after finding out from rumors that Erinys was alive, he thought it would be best to hide. So, he changed the way he looked again, to make sure that he looked nothing like the King of Silesse he was supposed to be, if only to go to other towns to get food for his family. Tailtiu was too busy taking care of their children to go out anywhere, especially since not long ago Tinni was born.

Tinni looked more like her mother, more of that same Friegan lilac hair, and so far, hardly any green at all. Her eyes were a nice shade of teal, and they sparkled with joy. Lewyn adored her just like Arthur.

One night, after he put Arthur to bed, he went over to his and Tailtiu's room, where she was trying to get Tinni to fall asleep for the night. Only a small candlelight giving light to the dark room. Sighing, he lay down on their bed.

"Did you finally get him to sleep?" Tailtiu asked him, still looking at Tinni.

Turning his head toward his wife, he nodded. "Yeah. That kid is such a fuss sometimes. Especially recently with Tinni being the center of our attention."

"Can you really blame him?" She said, finally turning to meet his gaze. "He's only a child, he's not used to having a sister yet. I'm sure when he gets older he'll want to protect her at all costs!"

Lewyn smiled in the darkness. "Heh, he might already be doing that. He refused to go to bed because he wanted to see her so badly."

"See? He's getting there already!" She beamed, before looking down at Tinni again, seeing her asleep, she put her down in the crib. Then laid down next to Lewyn on their bed.

Lewyn grinned, seeing Arthur adoring his sister so much always made him smile. "Yeah, all I can hope is that nothing horrible happens to them."

"I hope so too, that's why we must keep them safe here," Tailtiu said, meeting Lewyn's gaze again.

"We will, Tailty, we will…" Lewyn whispered before kissing her on the cheek. "Get some rest, you've been up late for a while."

Tailtiu giggled. "You should rest too dear. You've been taking care of Arty all day, and you know he can be hyper."

"You're right on that. Well, alright then." He agreed, before kissing her again. "Rest well Tailty."

It was a cold snowy day when it all happened. And he never would have thought she would get taken away like that.

"Papa! Papa!" He heard the cries of Arthur, which immediately sent him into a panic.

Picking him up, he asked. "Arty! What's wrong? What's happened?"

Arthur buried his face in his chest and cried, unable to hold in his sobs any longer. "M-Mama...Tinni...they're gone. Mama told me to run away to find you. And…"

"They're what? You...you have to be joking...what happened to them?"

"S-Strange mages...they were in our house and...attacked us...it…"

"Mages? That means Friege...Oh, gods no...They found her...I thought-"

"Papa...I'm scared…" Arthur sobbed, and Lewyn could feel him shaking violently.

"It'll be okay, Arty…" He assured him. He wanted to think it would be okay, he was going to save them, no matter what.

Quickly scanning through the snowy village, he saw an orphanage in sight, it was the only way to keep Arthur safe. It would be dangerous to let him go with him, and he wanted Arthur to live on, in case he ended up getting killed. So, running toward the orphanage, he put Arthur down and told him. "When the door opens, you go inside, I can't bear leaving you alone like this, but it's what I have to do. I'll come back for you, I promise."

"But...papa…"

"I know, and I'm sorry...but please, be safe, son." Ruffling his son's hair, he then knocked on the door and dashed away as fast as he could, Forseti tome in hand.

The Yied Desert. A terrible place to walk through, especially knowing the Loptyrians were there. Lewyn knew that, but he needed to make it toward Alster, he heard from some villagers that House Friege had taken control of Alster. They must've been taken there. He had been through this desert before, he knew how far he had until he could make it toward the Manster District. Even so, it was going to take a few days to get there. Anything to save his wife and daughter.

And for a moment, he thought he was actually going to make it. That is, until he heard a peculiar voice behind him.

"Oh, there you are, oh descendant of Sety. I almost thought you'd slipped away from my grasp! I hope you didn't go on to telling people about who I am!"

Lewyn turned around and glared at him. "You! Manfroy!"

Manfroy laughed. "Yes, tis' I. You thought you saw the last of me now did you?"

Lewyn said nothing. And Manfroy only laughed

"Well, your end is nigh! You'll never see your family again, now, or ever!"

"No! I cannot allow that! I escaped from you once, and I will do so again " Lewyn protested, opening up his Forseti Tome. "Forseti's Rage!"

With a swift dodge, Manfroy cackled. "You little bastard! It took me so long to find you, I won't let it go to waste!" Then, he blasted a big magic spell at Lewyn, catching him off guard.

As Lewyn knew, dark magic hurt much deeper than other types of magic, so likewise, him getting hit right in the chest was lethal. This was his end, it was all so clear now, how was he supposed to patch up that fatal wound?

So, with the little breath he had left. He uttered. "Tailty...Tinni...I'm sorry. Arthur...live on for me, please, my son…I failed you, I've only brought shame upon my family...and, oh Mother, I'm..."

"Oh shut it!" Manfroy interrupted. Before casting another dark magic spell. Then everything went black.

It was over for him. Everything was still. He could see nothing. Was this what hell looked like?

In the midst of his thoughts, he heard the sound of the wind, it was calm and peaceful.

And afterward, he heard a voice, it echoed all around him.

"King Lewyn..."

A/N: For those reading. This is connected to my longfic "Never Be Enough" so some things make less sense if you read this without reading the longfic first. Most things in this universe are deviating from canon, so in this universe, Tailtiu is told to stay in Zaxon during chapter 5. So that's what she did. Also, another thing, I call the Crusader Sety and Erinys's son Ced, just to differentiate them.

With that, I hope you enjoyed! Favs/Reviews are appreciated!
