hah me posting just a day after yuu's birthday while umi's isn't uploaded yet..
anyway, post-canon au! just some good toukoyuu fluff cause i hate how little fanfics they have. takes place idk a few years after last chapter?
After years of Touko giving hints, she finally decided to talk to Yuu about moving in together during their date at Echo. After all, Yuu's mother already knew about them dating, and that was the only reason Yuu could use to oppose against moving in..
(The way Yuu's mother found out about them was something Touko would like to erase from her mind, truthfully. After all, how do you even respond when they ask you about the marks on their daughter's neck after you two spend a night together?)
Touko, though nervous, started the talk about moving in shortly after they finished their meals. Though Yuu would respond a word or two, she let Touko explain her reasons as they sat across each other.
"..I can honestly think of so many reasons as to why I want to take this next step with you, why I want you to move in with me," Touko explained, putting her hands over Yuu's. Ignoring the chatter of Echo's customers, she continued "but it's mainly because I love you a lot, and I just.. want to be able to be with you, to be closer to you even more."
Yuu's quietness made Touko worry at first, but the former let out an inaudible murmur before raising an eyebrow.
"If we do move in together, what do you plan to do?"
"A-Ah, um.. things like, like cooking together, and watching more movies together, and--!!"
"Nothing indecent..?"
"..I.. can't promise you that," Touko murmured softly, earning a sigh from her girlfriend "Y-You can't blame me! We'll be even closer, so of course I'd get more tempted.."
"You don't mind my mood swings that occur every month?"
"I promise to even give in to your period cravings! And besides, we've been together for a while, I've seen your crankiness already.."
"You don't mind sharing a bed with me?"
"I sleep way better when Yuu is by my side."
"You won't make me sleep on the sofa?"
"Why would I make you sleep on the sofa?"
"Partners do that when they're in some argument, or when one is jealous," Yuu said, pausing to take a sip of her iced coffee. She continued "I think I'll do that more though, you seem to have more romance scenes with actors."
"I-It's acting! Besides, they're.. they're not a better kisser than you.." Touko pouted, then shook her head "I promise I won't! Ah, speaking of sofa.. if you do move in with me, I should get a new one.."
"Let's get it together, then. I have a sofa in mind already."
"Really? What color is it? Is it big, too?" Touko asked enthusiastically, eyes glimmering. She then paused, and with wide eyes, continued "W-Wait, wait-- are you..?"
"I'll move in with you, it's getting cramped at the bookstore anyway," Yuu commented, then chuckled at Touko's expression "I've been thinking about asking you, too, but I've been hesitating for no reason."
"I'm so excited..! Ah, here's a spare key to my place!" Touko hummed as she dug into her purse, bringing out a pair of keys "For the two locks! Ah~ I'm so glad you said yes, Yuu..!"
"Hush it down, you're acting like I accepted your proposal or something..! Miya-san might get the wrong idea.." Yuu scolded her, taking the pair of keys. She smiled softly at the keys, then turned her attention at Touko "But, I'm happy to take this next step with you, too, Touko."
"I love you, Yuu~"
"You still say it so easily after how many years..
but of course, I love you too."
April 4th
"Yuu-chan, Touko-chan..! Mou, help us out here!"
"Coming, Rei-chaaaan!"
Yuu let out a huff, putting down one more box. She glanced at the new white sofa -- still wrapped in plastic -- and smiled. Touko was still busy unpacking her things, but she did say she'd help in a bit. After hearing the older Koito call out her name once more, she ran out of the house -- where her older sister and her soon-to-be brother-in-law was.
"Hiro-kun, Rei-chan, where are the other boxes?"
"These are the last three, I just need you to lift up the other one so we'd have one each," Hiro explained, and with a huff, lifted up one more box "What's.. in these anyway? Label says BC2."
"Books, my collection.. the others were clothing and more valuable collections!"
"I didn't expect you to have this much stuff, Yuu," Rei commented with a sigh, lifting up a (fortunately) lighter box "Where to put this? Label says comforters."
"Ah, the spare room, please! Well.. most of the boxes are there, anyways.."
"Got it~ Hiro's too, yeah?"
"Yep!" Yuu nodded, taking the last box "And these are.. ah, shoes. Spare room we go."
Back inside the two bedroom house, it was still quite the mess. Boxes were scattered, making the house feel cramped -- Yuu honestly felt a twinge of guilt knowing that Touko had to stay like this for almost a week now, but the latter always reassured her it's fine, as long as it meant having Yuu by her side.
"Touko-chaaaan, we've got the last few boxes! How are you doing unpacking Yuu's stuff? Found anything strange?"
"Erm, should I expect to find anything strange? But, well, I found nothing.. except the planetarium lamp, I'm a bit surprised it's still working," Touko laughed lightly, exiting the main bedroom. She gave her girlfriend a quick eskimo kiss shortly after the former placed the box down, letting out a giggle afterwards "So, tonight is our first night together as a live-in couple?"
"Yeah.. Ah, we should probably unwrap the sofa soon," Yuu said, looking at the sofa across the room "Rei, Hiro-kun, thank you for the help! I'll make it up to you guys soon, perhaps on your wedding day!"
"You can make up to us by babysitting all of our kids~" Rei teased, earning a confused look from the two lovebirds.
"Rei-chan, are you..?"
"Don't tell me you're making me an aunt already.."
"Hey, hey, not yet..! I'd love to spend at least a year alone with your sister before adding four kids into our lives.." Hiro sighed, ignoring his fiancée's 'why-did-you-tell-them-it's-a-joke' face. He glanced at his watch, then sighed "We should get going now, still have cake testing tomorrow. I do think we'll see each other again tomorrow for Yuu's birthday?"
"Of course. Thank you for your hard work, Hiro-san, Rei-chan."
"No worries, you two. Rei, I'll wait for you at the car, alright?"
"Alright! Touko-chan, take care of my sister, okay?" Rei smiled at the two, then chuckled "See, I told you you'd end up dating her, Yuu."
"Yeah, yeah. See you tomorrow, Rei-chan."
"I promise to take good care of Yuu," Touko bowed before putting an arm around Yuu.
"Hm.. I guess that's it. It's not like I have to remind you guys to use protection since you are both girls --"
"Rei-chaaan..!"
"-- ah, but don't leave any visible marks. You know how disappointed Mom looked when she saw those on Yuu before she even knew you two were a thing.." Rei laughed lightly. With a smile, she continued "I'll get going now. You two should unpack a bit more before calling it a day."
After bidding their farewells, Touko helped Yuu unpack her things, though they'd sometimes stop to take breaks.
And before you ask, yes, it included Touko giving Yuu a kiss or a hug in order to 'recharge.'

Nearing midnight, the couple finally finished unpacking and organizing Yuu's immediate necessities (and collections,) and finally started to unwrap the sofa like planned.
"Yuu, can you check if there's still leftover plastic at the bottom near the legs?"
"Hmm.. none!"
"At the back?"
"All clean and unwrapped!"
"That's nice to hear. Now, we can watch movies to commemorate moving in together, no?" Touko smiled at Yuu, who had a questionable look on her face. Upon seeing this, Touko pouted "Aw, I just want to cuddle you after a long day of hard work.."
"Are you not tired, Touko?"
"Mm.. Not at all," Touko shook her head. She made herself comfortable by lying down on the brand new sofa, then beckoned Yuu to come "Come on, come on!"
"You better not do anything indecent.." Yuu murmured, cautiously making her way to her girlfriend.
Touko grabbed Yuu's wrist and pulled her close, causing the younger of the pair to fall on her chest with a surprised yelp.
"T-Touko..!"
"What~? I just want to hold you close," Touko giggled, then let out a content sigh as she smiled. Letting one hand lay on Yuu's hip, she used the other to run her fingers through peach hair locks "I can't believe I can finally hold you close like this for the rest of our lives.."
"Rest of our lives? You haven't proposed yet.." Yuu pouted as she snuggled into Touko's chest "Hey, Touko.."
"Hmm~?"
"Remember when our first night together at your old place? You said a day like that would eventually become normal, and said you wanted a big sofa when that day does come.."
"Ah, that's right.. Well, that day has already come, no?"
"..I'm glad it did."
"I'm glad, too. Ah, right, your sister's wedding is nearing.. It got me thinking.."
"About..?"
"If and when we do get married in the future, whose last name will be used? Nanami Yuu sounds nice, no?"
"Koito Touko, too!" Yuu turned her head, raising it slightly to face Touko "And when that day does come.. you better wear your ring always, especially at your acting rehearsals."
"My, is Yuu being jealous~?" Touko laughed softly, patting Yuu's head "There, there. I told you already, you don't need to feel jealous when Yuu is the only one in my heart~"
"As I should be. Or else I'd kick anyone else that's inside your heart."
"Hmm.. even if it's our child?" Touko questioned, earning a confused sound from Yuu "Well, technology is getting more advanced, so that could be possible.. if all else fails, we could adopt. Don't you want a family with me?"
"..I think I understand what Hiro-kun said earlier, now.." Yuu murmured, hugging Touko a bit closer "..I don't mind having kids with you, but for now, I want to focus on us.."
"Of course, let's focus on us for now," Touko hummed in agreement, slightly jolting in surprise when her phone vibrated in her pocket. She brought her phone out to turn off the alarm, and tightened her embrace on Yuu.
"An alarm at this hour?"
"Mhm!"
"Ehh, for what?" Yuu sat up, making herself comfortable on Touko's lap when the other followed suit.
"For this," Touko responded, planting a soft and (surprisingly) quick kiss on Yuu's lips. She pulled away with a satisfied smile "Happy birthday, my Yuu."
