After attempting to escape the ever fluctuating pollution of Kolkata, the American Mr Frederick Rank, his wife Mrs Lydia Rank and their young son Jim Rank, who was about six, were stranded in the savannah near the burial grounds of Leo and company. The son's friend Rita Turner has landed first with her scientist parents, but it's Jim who'll ultimately went on to witness his parents dying of health complications whilst being under arrest somewhere in the heart of British occupied Uganda.
Later on, a really hungry, notorious leopard named Fargo, son of Marsha and maternal grandson of Reginald and Isla, ate the remains of the animals that they studied.
