Summary: Normally one goes to Hell when one dies - Chronos isn't that lucky.

"And who is this?" Juudai glanced down at the human being forced to kneel before him. This wasn't much to look at, as far as humans were concerned. Tall and thin and gangling, with a long tail of blond hair, and a bony sort of face.

"We found him trapped in one of the labyrinths," the servant who brought the poor luckless human there reported. "We thought he might amuse your Majesty."

Juudai lounged back on his throne now. The human, frankly, looked too terrified to be of any real amusement – though that terror did taste rather delicious. He licked his lips slowly, his tail twitching.

He didn't normally do the whole tail, horns, and wings thing but sometimes they could be very useful if he felt like being intimidating. Though this human looked very intimidated already.

"What were you doing there, human?" he wanted to know. "And what is your name?"

He expected either a quavering response or terrified silence. What he got was something else altogether. The human raised his head, trying to stare at Juudai and not being able to – which wasn't a surprise, there'd never been the human who could look at him directly while in Hell itself – and spoke.

"I am Professor Chronos de Medici and I demand to be returned to my home at once!"

Juudai's lips twitched a fraction. "You demand?" Oh, this could be a lot more interesting than he'd thought it might be.

"I demand!" The human's voice rose a trifle, a bit of a squeak now. He was terrified; Juudai knew the taste of every human emotion and the fear rolled off of him like fine wine. "I must return to my students!"

Juudai slowly shook his head. "Once you enter Hell, you become my property. You'll only go back if I allow it – and I don't feel like allowing it." He let his tail twitch thoughtfully. "But there is an option."

"An option?" Chronos looked hopeful. "What do you mean?"

"You say you're a teacher?"

The human nodded, starting to straighten up, though he cast his eyes left and right, as if worried he would be forced back to his knees. If Juudai hadn't indicated otherwise, he would have been.

"Then you will teach the students I give you. I will have you educated in what they should learn and then you will teach them." Juudai leaned forward, knowing his eyes smoldered with amusement. "You won't be damned but you will live in Hell for as long as I decree it. Decades – or centuries. Do a good enough job and eventually I might release you. Don't do a good enough job -" Juudai shook his head. "Let's just say, you should do a good job."

He lounged back in his throne's embrace. "What do you say, teacher? Is this an acceptable bargain?"

"Napoleon's never going to believe this," Chronos muttered. If Juudai hadn't had a demon's hearing he might have missed it. But then Chronos nodded firmly. "I agree."

The End

Notes: I've had this idea for Chronos in this AU for ages and this was my chance to write it!
