1st Chapter

May 25th 1944

The United States of America had endured and experienced many things both mundane and bizarre; however, nothing could have prepared them for what happened to the entire nation on 25th of May 1944 when the sky began the crack and at the coast, a wall of light appeared three miles out of from the nation, the same was being reported in territories held by US forces in the Pacific as well as US forces in Europe, the Atlantic, North Africa and in the Asian theatres were reporting similar happenings and then there was nothing, all radio traffic died and for long as anyone could remember, it appeared that everyone passed out.

When people came to and started clearing the stars from their eyes, it wasn't immediate but things were not as they should be. Every major and minor port city reported sighting large fleets of warships off the coast. Fearing the worst, the USAAF, USN and US Marine Corps sent out armed scout planes to investigate, what those planes found was a shock to their officers as the ships that were found were American, the entire US Navy that was deployed across the world had somehow reappeared in US waters.

This was before the reports of tanks and armed men roaming around in the fields and forests of the United States. Soon units were hastily sent to investigate these reports and what they found stunned them, they were US Army and US Marine Corps Ground Forces that were deployed overseas, in Europe, North Africa, Asia and the Pacific, all had somehow were teleported to the United States as Alaska and Hawaii also reported US troops popping up. Stranger still, American POWs captured by the Germans, Italians and Japanese were all found in the US with those in poor health found near US Military Hospitals or US Civilian Hospitals.

Soon, reports came in from airstrips, airfields and airports as well airbases of rows upon rows of planes lining their tarmacs. What else was surprising was military bases suddenly found stores of supply stacked neatly inside their perimeter. Washington was briefly confused as to what was going on especially as contact to the outside world was gone. London, Ottawa, Mexico City, Moscow and Algiers had all gone quiet, hell even attempts at contacting Tokyo, Rome and Berlin failed. It didn't take long for ships and aircraft to go out to try and find what was going on. What they found caused more questions than answers.

To say the Atlantic Federation was in the conundrum of the century was rather fitting, as a large shipment of supplies from Vinland was late, first by a few days then a few weeks.

One shipment being late wouldn't have been so bad however the Atlantic Federation really started getting worried when it was not only the one shipment but the following supplies shipments failed to show up. Normally supply shipments from Vinland aren't that critical as the Atlantic Federation members in Europa could supply themselves however that was only during peacetime which the Federation is most definitely not at peace, as the Second European War was consuming men and equipment at an alarming rate. The United States of Vinland was the only thing that kept the war effort afloat as they provided forty percent of the material for the war effort.

However, after several months of silence, strange broadcasts began to filter into the airwaves, listening posts on the western coast of Europa could hear strange messages, sometimes it was people talking, conversations or speeches and the like while other time, music was heard but it was music that no one in the Atlantic Federation had ever heard before.

Then the unimaginable happened as a picket destroyer detected a large object in the air over the Atlantic on their radar. The operators were confused as they tried to figure out what it was as there was no bird that was that big. Whilst the radar crew argued over the contact, the lookouts and sailors out on the deck of the destroyer could hear a strange mechanical droning sound but it sounded different from how a Ragnite engine would sound. The lookouts scanned the skies trying to find the source of the noise but it seemed to be coming from all around but other than that, it was eerily silent as everyone waited in anticipation for something to appear.

The eerily silence was shattered when a lookout shouted of a shape to the port bow, high in the clouds but as the sailors turned, the shape had disappeared. Then another shouted of seeing a star move through a gap between the clouds to the starboard bow. Soon reports flooded the bridge of mysterious shapes and shadows moving amongst the clouds. However the reports all stopped when a dumbstruck lookout shuffled quietly and reported that something was flying towards the destroyer. That got everyone bar the helmsman out of the bridge.

The sailors and officers all stared in awe at the incredible sight as a large boat with wings attached to the top of it soared overhead, it had two what appeared to be engines that were spinning something in front of them. Then one of those watching the machine noticed that it was signaling to them via signal light. This was the first contact between the Atlantic Federation and the United States of America, soon both sides began exchanging information however one thing was made very clear, things were going to be rather bizarre.

AN: This is a story I had been thinking of making for a while now and now thanks to motivation and help from my excellent friend, Commander Keel. Now let's how Europa will handle the might of an awaken giant.
