Rumpelstiltskin Miraculous Ladybug

I claim no ownership of Miraculous Ladybug or its characters.

Once upon a time, a long time ago the far away kingdom of Miraculous was ruled by a young and wise king named Adrien. Adrien had short blond hair and green eyes. He wore a golden crown with diamonds and simple royal red robes. When he took the throne from his father Adrien was faced with a big problem. His father King Gabriel was not a money wise man. He often spent the kingdom's treasure on plans and ideas that did not turn up a profit.

As a result, the kingdom was quite poor when Adrien took the throne. He made it his mission to make the kingdom prosperous again. He refused to focus on anything else until he had done it. This did not come as pleasant to Adrien's castle stewardess Nathalie. She was a tall woman with short black hair and glasses. When Adrien's mother died when he was eight years old. Nathalie took him over and raised him as her own son. She loved Adrien very much and wanted nothing more than to see him settle down with a beautiful young lady and have a family. Though of course romance was the last thing on Adrien's mind at that moment.

He was in the throne room with Nathalie and his Captain of the Guard/best friend Nino. Nino had dark hair and dark skin with glasses. He wore a typical officer's uniform with a big hat. His father had been the castle captain before him, so he and Adrien grew up together and had been best friends for years. "Please Adrien" Nathalie pleaded for the hundredth time that week. "Please consider finding a queen. I want you to be happy and have a family". "How can I be happy if the rest of the kingdom is struggling" Adrien said. It was the same response he gave to Nathalie every time she brought up the idea of marriage for Adrien. "It's useless to pressure him into it, Nathalie" Nino said. Nino knew Adrien as well as anyone and he knew Adrien had a mind of his own. Once he made up his mind, he stuck to it.

They all continued to argue between Adrien getting married and making the kingdom prosperous again. The local baker, a man by the name of Tom Dupain-Cheng was delivering some loaves of bread and baked goods the castle kitchen. He was a big man with dark hair and a mustache. He approached the throne and bowed to Adrien respectfully. "Your Majesty, I was delivering some goods to your kitchen and I couldn't help but overhear your conversations" Tom said. "Do you have some idea on how we can solve our kingdom's money problems" Nino asked. "Yes, but it's an unusual idea if you're still willing to hear it" Tom responded. "I'll hear any idea at this point" said Nathalie "I've gotten tired of trying to convince the king to find a wife".

"Well," said Tom. "My daughter Marinette has a magic spinning wheel that she can use to spin straw in the purest of gold" To say the least Adrien, Nino and Nathalie were all surprised to hear this news. "If that's true why aren't you living as a wealthy family" Adrien asked. "Marinette only keeps the gold that our family needs to run the bakery" Tom said. "She gives the rest of it to the poor and needy".

Adrien was fascinated to hear of such a kind and generous young lady. Nathalie on the other hand did not believe in magic so she was skeptical about the whole thing. She did not want Adrien to be made a fool of. "Do you think your daughter would mind coming to them castle to do a demonstration for us" she asked. "I know she would love to ma'am" Tom said. "I'll get her for you" "Nino, go with Mr. Dupain-Cheng to fetch his daughter, will you?" Adrien asked. "Will do Adrien, I take along some of my best men to help transport Ms. Dupain-Cheng here" Nino said. Nino left with Tom with a cart of men to fetch Marinette.

Now Tom was not kidding or even exaggerating. Marinette did indeed have a magic spinning wheel that she could use to spin straw into gold. She had dark bluish hair in pigtails and wore a simple shirt and shorts. Marinette was friends with a little red fairy named Tikki. One day they were walking together through the woods when they spotted Plagg, a dwarf with a short beard that was a friend to Tikki. No one could remember his real name, so everyone just called him Plagg his nickname. He was surrounded by wolves and was in grave danger. Marinette thinking quickly started throwing rocks at the wolves, scaring them away. As dwarf law demanded because Marinette saved his life. Plagg had to give her something to her in return. The gift that Plagg gave her was the magic spinning wheel. Which he taught her how to use to spin straw into gold.

Now Marinette knew she could use it to make her family rich, but instead her kind heart demanded that she use it to help others. She chose to only keep the gold that her family needed to keep their bakery going. Plus, she had to be careful how much gold she spun at one time. As she could not spin straw from thin air. She grew some of her own when she could. Because finding straw to spin into gold was not so easy. Many people needed straw for things like bedding for their animals or their own beds.

Marinette was in her bedroom with Tikki and her lifelong best friend Alya. Alya had long brown hair and dark skin with glasses. Now Marinette for as long as she could remember had a crush on King Adrien, but then most young ladies in the kingdom did. Alya and Tikki enjoyed teasing Marinette about her crush. "You know one day King Adrien could come to the bakery and notice a beautiful young maiden working here" Alya said. "Please Alya, why would the king bother with little old me" Marinette said. Marinette never did have the best option of herself. "Oh Marinette, you're beautiful and kind. Surely the king would love for his queen to have those qualities" Tikki said.

"Either way, I doubt I'll ever get the chance to actually meet the king" Marinette pointed out. Tikki and Alya had to agree that she had a point, but at that moment Tom and his wife Sabine come in. Marinette looked a great deal like her mother. Sabine had the same bluish hair that her daughter had. She also had the same blue eyes too. "Marinette sweetheart, the king has requested your presence at the palace" Tom said. Marinette to say the least was shocked. "Why would the king want to see me" she asked. "It seems your father spilled the beans about your magic spinning wheel and the king wishes to see it for himself" Sabine said.

Now Marinette was nervous and scared at the same time. "Oh dear, oh dear" she said shaking like nuts. "Calm down Mari, you'll be fine" Alya said. "I'll go with you if you need some support" "That goes for me too" Tikki put in. "Because your father got you into this mess. We'll go too" Sabine said. "Thanks everyone" Marinette said. "I guess it would be best to accept the king's invitation" "The captain of the guard and some of his men are here to help bring the spinning wheel to the castle" Tom said. "I'll help too" said Alya. Soon they were all off for the palace. As Alya help Nino load the spinning wheel onto the cart, they both felt an attraction to the other.

Marinette made sure to bring the last of her straw with her to castle as she and her spinning wheel were presented to Adrien. As the guards set down the spinning wheel in the throne room, Marinette bowed to Adrien respectfully. "Adrien, I give you Marinette Dupain-Cheng and her spinning wheel" Nino said. "Who are the others" Nathalie asked. "My best friend Alya, my fairy friend Tikki and my mother madame" Marinette responded. "How did you come to have this magic spinning wheel" Adrien asked. Marinette told Adrien how she saved the dwarf Plagg. How he gave her the spinning wheel in return and taught her to spin straw into gold.

Now Adrien thought Marinette was beautiful when she first walked in, but now he knew that she was friendly and brave. He felt like he was rapidly falling in love with her. Nathalie knew the look on Adrien's face. While she could not deny the presence of a fairy in front of her. She was not sure if a human could use magic. "Do you mind demonstrating it for us" she asked. "I'd love too" Marinette said. She sat down at the spinning wheel and began to spin some the straw she had. When she was finished, she showed it to Adrien. Adrien was amazed, it was string of pure gold that he was holding. Nathalie could not believe it and asked Marinette to do it again.

Marinette continued to show her ability until she ran out of straw. "That's all the straw I had. I may be able to spin straw into gold but not straw from thin air" she said. "You're saying you have to get straw to spin" Nathalie asked. "Yes, and it's not as easy as you may think" Marinette responded. Nathalie still was not sure if she believed if it was magic or a trick of the eye. She had an idea that would prove if Marinette could spin straw into gold. "We can provide you a whole room of straw to spin" she said. "If you can spin it all into gold in one night, I'll be convinced of what you're say" "Nathalie" Adrien said completely shocked. "How can you deny what she's already shown us" "I accept the challenge Your Majesty" Marinette said. "If it will help the kingdom, I'll happily do it" "Excellent" Nathalie said. "I'll just have the room prepared".

While Nathalie had the room of straw prepared, Adrien took the opportunity to spend some time with Marinette to get to know her better. They both were fully in love with each other before the day was done. When the sun began to set, Adrien personally escorted Marinette to the room of straw. He made sure there was enough food and water to last her the night. Marinette was amazed by the sight she saw. The place was a storage room filled with straw. She had never seen so much straw. "Ok this is going to be a challenge" Marinette admitted. "I know you can do it" Adrien said. "I have full confidence in you" "Thanks Adrien" Marinette said. "Good Luck and good night" Adrien said giving Marinette a kiss on the cheek. Marinette blushed and found new energy and drive. She did not want to let Adrien down.

Marinette did her best, but she could only spin half the straw by midnight. She felt tired and hungry. "Oh, I wish I had some help" she said. "Ask and you shall receive" a voice said. Suddenly there was a puff of smoke and when it cleared Plagg had appeared before Marinette. "Plagg, what's brings you here" Marinette asked. "I heard your wish of course" Plagg said. "Plus, I've also heard of the king taking an interest in your spinning wheel" "Yes and his stewardess said she'll only be convinced if I spin all this straw into gold in one night. But I have never spun this much as one time" she admitted. "Well, I could help you, but I'm going to need something in return. It is dwarf law you know. Every favor a dwarf gives or receives must be given a favor of equal value" Plagg said. Marinette thought for a moment and she came up with an idea.

She took of the necklace that she was wearing. "Would this necklace do? My mother gave it to me on my last birthday" Marinette asked. Plagg took the necklace from her and inspected it. It was a beautiful necklace, and he was sure the Dwarf Council would agree it would do. "Yes, I think this will do very nicely" Plagg said. He put on the necklace and sat down next to Marinette. Working together they managed to spin the straw into gold within an hour. Marinette was able to eat and get some sleep before morning. As the sun began to rise, Nathalie and Adrien came in to see Marinette. When they opened the door, they were both astonished. Nathalie still could not believe her eyes. Adrien on the other hand was proud of Marinette that she managed to pull it off

"Well Nathalie, are you convinced?" Adrien asked. Nathalie could not deny what was before her, but she still did not believe it was from magic. She did not want to admit it, so she came up with another thing to say instead. "Yes, Adrien I am, but I don't think this gold will be enough for the kingdom to recover" she said. "We'll need Ms. Marinette to spin another room of straw" "What do you say Marinette? Are you up to another room of straw?" Adrien asked. "I'm willing to give it a go" Marinette said. "Very good, and this time I'll set up a guard to protect you as you spin. We were lucky this first time that no one tried to steal the gold" Nathalie said. Really Nathalie wanted to make sure that Marinette was switching the straw for gold during the night.

As Nathalie prepared another room of straw, Adrien and Marinette spent the day together again. The more time they spent together, the more in love they became. Marinette showed Adrien how to make a pie in the castle kitchen. As the sun began to set, Adrien showed Marinette to the new room of straw. It was bigger than the first and had more straw. Though Marinette was willing to do anything for Adrien. Nathalie instructed the guards not to let anyone in or out until morning. Marinette had gotten faster in her spinning due to the previous night, but again she could only spin half the straw before she was tired at midnight. Once again Plagg appeared and offered his help. Though again he had to request a favor in return. Marinette though and took on the ring that she had on her right hand. "My dad gave me this ring. He said it was a family heirloom" she said.

Plagg tried it on. "A perfect fit too" Plagg said "We have a deal" Plagg helped Marinette finish her work so she could get some sleep. When morning came Nathalie arrived at the door before Adrien. "Well did anyone try to enter or leave this room all night" she asked the guards. "No ma'am, it was quiet all night" one guard said. "Good, that means there's no way Marinette could have cheated this time" she said. Little did they know that Adrien had just arrived and heard what they had said. "So, you didn't really believe, you think Marinette is a fraud do you" he said. "ADRIEN" Nathalie said in shock. "You must understand I didn't want you to be fooled" "She wasn't fooling anyone; we've seen her do it" Adrien said.

"And for your information Nathalie, I've come to love Marinette. I plan to ask her to be my queen" Adrien said. "Just wait Adrien please" Nathalie pleaded. "Let's see if she was able to spin that straw as you believe she has". They opened the door and again were amazed to see all the straw spun into gold. "Impossible, how can this be" Nathalie said. "I've told you Nathalie, she used her magic spinning wheel" Adrien said. Marinette woke up from all the commotion. "Good morning, I hope you are pleased" she said. "I'm very pleased Marinette" Adrien said. "Though I have something more important to tell you" "What might that be Adrien" Marinette asked. Adrien got down on one knee before her. "I love you Marinette, and I would be honored if you'd be my queen" he said taking her hands in his.

"Oh Adrien, I would love to marry you" Marinette said. "Not so fast you love birds" Nathalie said. "We're going to need more gold for your wedding. I've been waiting for this moment for a long time and I'm going to make sure it's a big affair" "Nathalie, don't you think Marinette has spun enough" Adrien said. "It's okay Adrien, if she wishes me to spin some more gold for our wedding, I'll do it. If only to finally convince her of the magic of my spinning wheel" Marinette said. "Very good" Nathalie said. "I'll have the final room ready by sunset" And so it was as Marinette and Adrien planned out their wedding. Nathalie had an even bigger room filled with straw.

Again, Marinette had gotten faster but she could only spin half the straw before she was tired out at midnight. When Plagg came and offered his help again Marinette had nothing left to offer. "Well maybe we can do this one on a promise" Plagg said. "You're going to marry the king and become queen aren't you" "I suppose so" Marinette said. "Well let's say one year after you become queen, I'll come back, and you can repay me then" Plagg said. "I'll agree to that" Marinette said. "You can anything you wish" "Good then we have a deal" Plagg said. Once again he helped Marinette finishing spinning the straw into gold.

Come morning Nathalie and Adrien were amazed once again by what they saw. "Okay, that does it I believe" Nathalie conceded at last. "I'll let you marry her Adrien. I wish you both a happy life together" Adrien and Marinette were happy to hear that. Nathalie walked out to began preparations. "Don't mind her Marinette" Adrien said. "She's just been a second mother to me since my mom died" "I can see that my own mother is very protective of me too" Marinette said. "She always would tell me to be careful of who I gave my spun gold to" "Well now we can share the gold with all the kingdom. Though I'm more concerned with sharing my life with you" Adrien said. He took her face in his hand and pulled her into a kiss. Marinette melted into his embrace and kissed him back.

Adrien and Marinette were married within the week. Alya and Nino had fallen in love and were married not too long after. Adrien asked Marinette's parents and Tikki to come live at the castle. The Dupain-Cheng family continue their bakery business from the castle. Their bakery had become spread through out the entire kingdom. The kingdom of Miraculous had become the richest and most prosperous kingdom in the entire world. Still Marinette continued to spin straw into gold in her spare time. Though Adrien made sure she never had to spin whole roomfuls of straw again. Shortly before their first anniversary, Marinette gave birth to twins. One boy and one girl that they named Hugo and Emma. Hugo had his father's eyes and his mother's hair. Whereas Emma was the opposite with her mother's eyes and her father's hair. Still Marinette and Adrien could not have been happier. They loved their beautiful children and each other very much. Marinette had not forgotten her promise to Plagg and even confessed to Adrien about it. He was not disappointed as he knew the roomfuls of straw was a lot to ask even with her magic spinning wheel.

"When he comes, I'll gladly give him all the treasure that he can carry for helping you" Adrien said. Three days before the year was up Plagg appeared in the castle throne room, but he was not alone. At least seven other dwarfs were with him. Marinette was holding Emma and Adrien had Hugo in his arms. Both of them dressed in their best clothes with their crowns on their heads. Plagg did not look happy at all. The tallest dwarf who had a long grey beard with a bald head was menacing looking. "Your Majesties" he said. "I'm Hawkmoth, the head of the Dwarf Council. We've come here to make our demands of you" "I agreed to give Plagg what he wanted" Marinette said. "Oh! but I'm afraid he would have asked too little because he actually cares. Whereas we do not, in fact I actually hate humans" Hawkmoth said.

"Still, we'll give you all the treasure you can carry" Adrien said. "I'm afraid that will not be enough Your Majesty" Hawkmoth said. "You see Plagg gave you each a new life so you must each give him a life in return. Both of your children will do" Adrien and Marinette were both shocked. They held their children closer to them. "I did not agree to that" Marinette protested. "I'm afraid the Council's word is the law Marinette" Plagg said sadly. "I was only going to ask for a chest of treasure, but the Council is wanting to demand much more." "Yes! And if he does not do as we say. He will be banished to the dragon lands to be eaten, and we'll take your children anyway" Hawkmoth said. "Finally, I will have my ultimate power over humanity. Then the dwarfs will rule the entire world forever. Ha ha ha" Hawkmoth and the rest of Council laughed.

"We won't let you get away with this" Adrien said. "GUARDS" Nino and several guards surrounded the dwarfs. "Now, now there is no need for that" Hawkmoth said. "If you want to keep your children then you have to beat the Council in a little game. You know that Plagg is his nickname, but if you can figure out his real name. You can keep your children. If not, then we get them and rest of your kingdom too. So long and bad luck to you, ha" With that Hawkmoth and the Council disappeared in a puff of smoke. "What is your real name Plagg" Marinette asked. "I'm afraid I can't tell you Marinette" Plagg said. "It's against the rules of the game. All I can do is give you a clue" He pulled out a bright red feather from his coat that was as long as his arm.

"This feather comes from my homeland. Figure out where it comes from and you can find out what my real name is" Plagg said. Plagg gave Marinette the feather and bow respectfully. "You have three days to figure it out so don't delay. If you win the game, I will be freed from the Council's rule" Plagg said and disappeared. "Can we really win this game of the Dwarf Council's" Marinette asked. She was clearly worried about the safety of their twins. Adrien comforted his wife. "We can and we will my love" he said. "I'll have all the best mind in the kingdom research that feather. We'll find where it comes from."

During the next two days, everyone who could ran through every book in kingdom on birds. Finally, Marinette found something that was useful. "Here Adrien, phoenix birds have that kind of feather" she said. "They live in a remote part of the forest. That's where the dwarfs must live" "Then we'll go there tonight and look for any clues on Plagg's real name" Adrien said. That night they left the twins in the care of Alya and Nino. Dawning on some cloaks Adrien and Marinette left for the remote part of the forest. Where the phoenix birds were known to nest. They were surprised to find a hidden village filled with dwarfs. Plagg was waiting for them just outside the village.

"I knew you would figure it out" he said. "Come the Council building is this way. Hawkmoth should let my name slip" "Lead the way dear friend" Adrien said. He and Marinette followed Plagg closely to the largest building in the middle of the village. They peeked inside the window and saw Hawkmoth and the rest of Council were dancing and having a party around a fire. They could hear Hawkmoth singing. "Tonight, we dance and celebrate, for tomorrow the royal children we will take. Little knows the king and his foolish dame, that Rumpelstiltskin is Plagg's real name. Yes, little knows that king and his dame that Rumpelstiltskin is Plagg's real name" "They'll never figure it out and their children will be the tools in our rule of the world" he laughed. "That's what you think" Marinette whispered.

The next morning the Dwarf Council and Plagg meet Marinette, Adrien, Tikki, Alya, and Nino in the throne room. "Well, Your Majesties ready to give up and let us take your children" Hawkmoth asked. "You're not taking our children, nor will have you have control of our friend Plagg otherwise known as Rumpelstiltskin ever again" Marinette said. "NOOOOOO" Hawkmoth screamed in horror. "How could you know his name. He must have told you" "No he followed the rules and gave us a clue" Adrien said. "This feather to be exact" Marinette said pulling it out. "We found your village and heard your little song last night. Now leave and never return" "Curse you and all humanity" Hawkmoth shouted. He vanished with the rest of the Council.

Plagg bowed to Marinette and Adrien. "I can't thank you enough Your Majesties. You have freed me from the evil of Hawkmoth and the Dwarf Council" He said. "That's what friends do Plagg" Marinette said. "Agreed, I've been looking for a way to free you from them for years" Tikki added. "Marinette and I would be honored if you would stay with us in the castle as our royal advisor" Adrien said. "I would be pleased" Plagg said. And so, it was Plagg joined their family in the castle. He, Nino and Alya were named the royal godparents. He would help Marinette spin gold for the kingdom ever so often. And everyone lived happily ever after.
