I've been playing Pokemon Sword for several days and I really like it despite what others might say. It might not be the best Pokemon game out there but I still think it's fun, and that's what matters to me most, is that the game I play is fun. Anyway, there's something that bothers me, though, why don't we get any new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games? We've completely skipped over generation 7 in terms of the Mystery Dungeon series and that's pretty sad. With all the new Pokemon that Pokemon Sword has, I'd like to write a Mystery Dungeon fanfiction with those Pokemon included, with my own style, as in what my Cranidos and Mawile fanfics has. Without any further delay, let's start!
"Nnnng… where… where am I…?" A white and red rabbit Pokemon mutters as he slowly regains consciousness after an unknown circumstance. This Pokemon slowly begins to get up, still feeling disoriented, "I-I can't… remember anything…" He looks around his surroundings, "I'm in some sort of forest or woods but… I don't even recognize it…" He stands up and stumbles a bit, "F-feeling a bit woozy, wait…" He looks at his feet and notices that they have fur on them, "W-what am I?! Is there a body of water I can look at my reflection in?" He turns his head all around and discovers that he woke up near one coincidentally, "Good, now…" He comes closer to it and peers at it, he gasps as he realises what he became, "I'm a Pokemon! When did that even happen?!" he looks at himself some more, his long ears are red at the tips coming down to half of them, beady eyes that glimmer with the color of red, and between them… a patch just above his nose. Looking at all of that, he still can't determine which Pokemon he is, "I'm a rabbit Pokemon, for sure, but… I don't recognize this one, I'm familiar with most of them. I'm not a Buneary… that's for sure, not a Bunnelby. So… what am I?"
He exhales as he tries to relax, "Well… I can't worry about that now, I need to find a way out of here or find someone to help me." The white rabbit Pokemon continues on his not so merry way, through the woods.
Several minutes later
After a little while of walking to an unknown destination, he catches sight of another Pokemon off on the other side of a bush he's walking by, "Huh?" He looks over and sees a brown rabbit Pokemon with tan puffballs at the tips of its ears and the same on its waist, luckily for him… it's a Pokemon he described earlier, "Oh… it's a Buneary. But wait… I think I remember something about them… they are pretty lovey dovey, aren't they? Now, whether if it's male or female, I don't know but I'm not taking that risk." The white rabbit Pokemon thinks to himself as he now cautiously walks past the Buneary, "Thank Arceus for the long bush that separates our path, otherwise, it'll spot me easil-"
SNAP!
Without warning, the cautious rabbit Pokemon steps on a twig and it alerts the nearby Buneary, its ears perk up as it's trying to listen for him, "Huh?" And from the voice… It's definitely a female Buneary. She looks around for the cause of the noise.
His eyes widen and his face pales up a bit, "E-eep!" The white rabbit Pokemon ducks in the bushes, trying to hide from her, even trying desperately to cover himself up with leaves.
The Buneary tilts her head confusingly, "Strange… I thought I heard a noise somewhere…" She puts a paw to her mouth, she bounces closer to the white rabbit Pokemon, looking over the bush, "Hello…? Someone there?"
"N-no one's here! P-please go away!" The scared rabbit Pokemon quivers in his head, "I know I should find someone to help me, but… If she finds me cute enough, she'll want us to be together and… I'm not interested!" He gulps a bit.
"I guess it's just my imagination, then…" The Buneary bounces away from the hidden rabbit Pokemon and continues onwards.
"Phew! That was close… just escaped safely…" The white rabbit Pokemon gets out of hiding and he takes a breather to relax, "I would like anything but Bunearys to help me out here…"
"E-EEEEK!" A loud and familiar voice rings out.
"N-no… don't tell me she ran into a bit of a snag…" The white rabbit Pokemon beads some sweat, "A-and she sounds so distressed… I-I'm sure it's nothing!" He continues on his way through the woods.
In midstep, he heard her voice again, "S-somebody help!"
The white rabbit Pokemon covers his ears with his paws, "N-no thank you… I'm not here… I don't exist… it's not my problem…" As much as he tries to resist the urge to help, it eats him up inside, "M-maybe she's just stuck somewhere, I'm sure she can figure out how to get out… right?" He takes another step again to continue but… she calls out again.
"G-get away from me! L-let me go!" The Buneary cries as she really sounds like she is, some bushes on the other path where the Buneary was began to rustle.
The white rabbit Pokemon crosses his arms and thinks to himself "...One look can't hurt." He goes on over and rushes off through the path and finds a way through without being detected as he's just observing the situation.
The Area of Distress
As the bystanding rabbit Pokemon looks through he notices the cowering Buneary who just recently gave herself distance from her attacker, "L-leave me alone!" Seeing this, it's clear that she's in tears at this point.
The attacking Pokemon is also rabbit-like, but is pretty large, dirty brown, with fists at the end of his ears which look pretty gross to the white rabbit Pokemon, "Don't be a tease, baby! I'm only gonna have some fun with ya!" He uses his fist ears to spring himself forward to Buneary and body slams her, tackling her to the ground and trapping her under his weight, "Now… just look cute and let me do my thing." He ends off with a creepy laugh, as he tries to have his way with Buneary.
"T-this can't be real… there's no way that Pokemon can do things like this, right?" The white Pokemon can't believe his beady little eyes as what he's witnessing, "Must… help… but…" Remembering what he knows about Bunearys, this will for sure make her fall for him… maybe.
The Buneary cries one more time, digging the ground with her paws, as she tries to squirm her way out from underneath the big rabbit Pokemon while at the same time pushing him away from her with her ears, "N-nooooooo!"
Cannot bear to see this any more, the white rabbit Pokemon clenches his paws, bends his legs down, and… springs forward into the scene.
The big Pokemon sees him leap, "Huh…?" He says stupidly.
The white rabbit Pokemon kicks the big rabbit Pokemon's face, which gets him to get off of the Buneary, he sits up, still with the white rabbit Pokemon's foot in his face.
The heroic rabbit Pokemon jumps back a bit and stands in front of Buneary, shielding her from the bulky rabbit Pokemon,arms outstretched, "I would have never thought that a Diggersby would do something so horrid to a poor Buneary… disgusting!"
The Diggersby rubs his face before standing up, completely fine now, "Oh? And what makes you think you can protect her from me? What even are you, just a white Rattata to me! Har har har!"
"Oh yeah? Well, how about another kick?" The white rabbit jumps towards Diggersby and tries to kick him again, only for it to be blocked by one of his hand ears.
"What trubbish!" He swats him away against a tree… hard. "Now, then… where was I, my sweet?" He walks closer to Buneary and grabs her with his hand ears.
"N-noooo… please, little white rabbit Pokemon! G-get up!" The Buneary cries.
"Nah… he won't be getting up anytime soon, he's just a nobody playing hero." He grabs Buneary's ears and her whole body and stretches them out, "Now… the fun is just now beginning…"
And just before Diggersby begins to do something awful to Buneary… a fireball hits him, "Yowch! Who did that?!" He looks over and sees the white rabbit Pokemon getting up, "W-what?"
"I said…" He says as he slowly gets up, angry, "...how about another kick!" He rushes towards Diggersby as swiftly as possible and kicks him square in the face, dropping Buneary in the process.
"Ow… why you…" Diggersby goes over to try to punch him with his ears, only for the white rabbit Pokemon to jump out of the way, "Hold still!" He throws punch after punch at him.
Keeping up with his punches, the white rabbit Pokemon hops along with the beat of Diggersby's punches before building enough heat to shoot another fireball at him, right in his eyes.
"Damn it! I can't see!" Diggersby tries to rub his eyes, getting the fire off of him as it's much hotter than before.
The white rabbit Pokemon jumps backwards and gets to a tree, he jumps at it and uses the tree to leap towards Diggersby and give him a good swift and strong kick at the back of his head, knocking him over to the ground, but he wasn't done yet, he then uses the leverage of his head to jump into the air and pound him again in the head as he was down, and again… and again… and again. He finally finishes and exhales, "We better get away before he gets back up, I doubt I'm at a high enough level to truly take him down."
Buneary was way ahead of him, as she took the white rabbit Pokemon's paw and bounced away from Diggersby.
Far away from Diggersby
The two rabbit-like Pokemon find themselves in a closed grassy area surrounded by trees, nothing else, the two catch their breath, "T-thanks… for saving my life…" The Buneary says as she rests beside the white Pokemon, the two are pretty scuffed up, she looks at him, pauses to collect her thoughts and continues, "You were pretty brave back there… even if he overpowered you, you managed to overcome him with your amazing speed." Buneary blushes a bit as she speaks about him.
"Heh heh, thanks. I guess I just got lucky and Pokemon like him really burns me up, excuse me for that pun." The white rabbit Pokemon says nervously, sitting down on the lush grass next to Buneary.
Buneary gets reminded, "Now that you mention it… I never seen a rabbit Pokemon do that before nor have I seen one like yourself. You are very… unique." She scoots closer to the albino rabbit Pokemon with little hops. "Plus, you make me feel… safe~"
Just as the white rabbit Pokemon predicted, Buneary seems to be very fond of him, "Y-yeah." He scoots a little bit away from Buneary.
Buneary notices this right away and scoots closer to him, with little bounces again, "Mmm…~" She nuzzles against the albino bunny Pokemon.
This startles the white rabbit Pokemon and he stands up and without thinking, he begins scolding, "I knew it! Just because I saved your life doesn't mean it gives you the permission to invade my space!"
Buneary… begins to tear up, "W…"
This startles the white rabbit Pokemon even more, "Gah! P-please don't…"
Too late, the waterworks begins to start as Buneary bawls her eyes out, "Waaaaaah! You hate me, don't you?!"
This makes the fire bunny Pokemon feel bad, "N-no! I don't hate you…!" He waves his paws frantically.
"Y-yes, you dooooo…!" Buneary cries some more, "Y-you wouldn't yell at me if you didn't... "
"I-I didn't mean to… I like you… truly!" The rabbit Pokemon says with a frown, he tries to comfort Buneary, "P-please don't cry… I was just… afraid that you might have a crush on me…" He frowns even more as he knows it sounds bad.
Buneary wipes her eyes as she hiccupping from sobbing so much, "W-well… I-I guess that makes sense… we just met after all… but I can't help it. That's just how we are…"
The rabbit Pokemon scratches his head, "Look… I'm just not looking for a relationship and besides… you don't want someone like me… I'm a… h-human."
Buneary's ears perk up hearing that, "H-human?! B-but, you look like a Pokemon from any observable angle!"
The 'human' nods, "I know. I don't even know who I am or where I come from… all I know is I used to be human and what Pokemon are. I even know some species to an extent… just not myself."
Buneary is completely fine now as the rabbit Pokemon's condition has intrigued her, "That's odd… how about I… call you something?"
The rabbit's eyes widened, "Yes!" He closes his mouth, "S-sorry… and sorry from before, too now that I brought it up…"
Buneary giggles, "It's okay! I understand that you might not be interested in Pokemon relationships! Okay… how about… S...Sc…" She gasps as she suddenly remembers, "Scorbunny!" She claps as she exclaims the name happily.
Scorbunny tilts his head curiously, "Scorbunny? Wait… that sounds like what I actually am. I thought you didn't know that."
Buneary shakes her head, "I did at first but I suddenly remembered that I've seen your kind in books before, I didn't realize until now because it was so long ago."
"Makes sense… okay… Scorbunny it is, then!" Scorbunny smiles as he finally knows what he is now. He goes to sit back down, "I'm pretty beat…"
Buneary looks at Scorbunny as she covers her mouth with her paws, "Um…" Looking at him nervously.
Scorbunny looks at her, "What's wrong?" He then remembers, "Oh… um… I don't… mind if… you sit next to me." He blushes red saying that.
Buneary smiles and happily sits next to Scorbunny, reverting back to how it was before, even nuzzling close to him, "I know you might not feel the same way now, but… a Buneary cannot hold back her feelings~"
Scorbunny this time lets her nuzzle him, "Awww…" finding Buneary's ambition adorable, but he embarrassed himself after he said that, he quickly asks, "So, you don't even mind even if I'm human? Kinda surprised you even believed me in the first place."
Buneary shakes her head, "Nope, you're a Pokemon now and that's all that matters. Plus, you actually accepted my feelings~" She begins to nuzzle closer to Scorbunny. "And, of course I did… you sounded so genuine and was really sincere about it."
Scorbunny blushes, "That's… that is… um... " He doesn't want to deny it nor does he want to answer.
"Come on, let's sleep here… we'll head to where I live in the morning~" Buneary says as she sets herself and Scorbunny on the lush grass, she cuddles with him. "Good night, Scorbunny~"
Scorbunny feels very uncomfortable with this but can't bring himself to reject "N-night, Buneary."
The Next Morning
Scorbunny begins to wake up from his slumber fully rested, "Yaaaawn… I slept great…" He looks over to his side and sees Buneary nuzzling against him, snoring cutely, "Awww… she is adorable… but I can't stay."
Buneary's ears twitch as she begins to wake up herself, "Nnnng…" She rubs her eyes with her paw, "Good morning, Scorbunny…" She yawns, "Are you ready to go?"
Scorbunny looks at her weirdly, "Go? Go wh- oh… I remember now. Your home, right?" He gets up from the lush grass.
Buneary does the same, she nods, "Yep!" She dusts herself off and asks Scorbunny excitedly, "So, are you ready to go?"
Scorbunny lowers his arms and then pumps it into the air enthusiastically, "You bet!"
And without warning, Buneary takes hold of Scorbunny's paw and dashes off with him in tow, "Great, then let's gooooo~!"
"W-waaaaaaait! Slow down!" Scorbunny yelps as he's forcefully whisked away with Buneary, with tears running from his face from the fear of it all.
Near The Buneary Den
Buneary continues to dash at full speed, at almost unreal speed at that, she homes in to… well… home, she skids to a stop, "We're here~!" She says happily, as if her speed is something of the norm.
The momentum of her speed is still affected with Scorbunny as he gets launched into the air, "Gyaaaaaaah…!" And he falls straight into the hole which is the entrance to the Buneary den.
Buneary puts her paws to her face and giggles, "Couldn't wait to get inside, huh?" She jumps in after Scorbunny.
Inside The Buneary Den
Scorbunny, after falling for quite a while, lands on an incline and he begins rolling downhill, quite the uncircumstance for the little rabbit Pokemon. "Uuuugh…" groans Scorbunny, "My… everything…"
Buneary follows shortly after, sliding down as well but more safely than Scorbunny, "Well… welcome to my home, Scorbunny. Hey, everyone! Say hello to the new guest I've brought~!"
"E-everyone?" Scorbunny asked confused, he then notices Buneary after Buneary pop out of hiding, "Don't tell me that-"
Buneary nods, "Yep! These are all my sisters!"
A group of Buneary circle around Scorbunny which makes him sweat nervously, "Um… hi?" He says smiling sheepishly.
The group takes a moment to look at Scorbunny before collectively gasp, "Cute~!" They all say before grabbing onto him.
"H-hey! L-let me go!" Scorbunny cries as the group of Buneary pull on his face and his ears, "Hey! Those ears are sensitive! D-don't try to pull off my patch!"
A tall figure emerges from the circle of Bunearys, but just because they are in the way, it is hard to tell who it is, "Now now… please treat Buneary's guest as if he's part of the herd."
The circle of Bunearys look at the tall figure and they pull away from Scorbunny and they bow apologetically, "Sorry, mother!" They say in unison.
"M-mother?" Scorbunny says, still on the grounds as he looks up at the tall figure.
The tall figure is revealed to be a tall brown rabbit, similar to a Buneary but has tan bushy eyebrows instead of spots, unlike a Buneary, she has a humanoid figure to her. "Yes, welcome to our den. Please make yourself at home, young Scorbunny." She gives Scorbunny a little bow.
Scorbunny slowly rises up from the ground and gives the tall figure a good look, "Oh, you're a Lopunny, aren't you?" He asks.
The Lopunny nods, "Indeed I am. You are quite knowledgeable."
Scorbunny chuckles nervously, "Thanks, the only thing I'm not knowledgeable about, is myself."
Lopunny nods understandably, "I see. So what brings you here?"
Before Scorbunny could answer, Buneary answers for him, "Oh, he rescued me from an awful Diggersby, he was very brave, too~" She blushes as she imagines the scene in her head.
Lopunny smiles at that, "What a nice little Scorbunny~!"
This makes Scorbunny feel sheepish, "T-thanks, but I don't think I would consider myself brave. We ran away from him instead of finishing him off." He scratches the back of his head.
"I see, well, you still managed to get Buneary away from that awful Pokemon and that's what matters." Lopunny replied.
"See?! I told you so~!" Buneary exclaims.
"Heh heh… so… you're the mother of all these Bunearys?" Scorbunny asks the caring Lopunny.
Lopunny takes a moment to reply, 'Yes and no. I am a mother to all these Bunearys but we aren't related to one another by blood. It's merely a clan thing. I'm sure you would know this by now."
Scorbunny shakes his head, "Well… no. I've been pretty much alone ever since I arrived in this world."
Lopunny's interest is piqued as she moves her ears accordingly to listen better to Scorbunny's words, "World? What does that supposed to mean?"
Buneary answers for Scorbunny again, "He said that he's a human and he came to this world. When he told me this, he looked serious about it so I had no reason to not believe him."
Lopunny puts a paw to her chin, "I see… may we continue this conversation after breakfast? Perhaps I could lend you some information that would be useful to you."
Scorbunny smiles hearing that, "Yeah! That'll be great!" He beams happily.
Lopunny smiles at Scorbunny's eagerness, "Excellent! You two get ready in the meantime, it will be ready shortly." Lopunny hops away.
"So… how do you like it here?" Buneary asks Scorbunny, walking closer to him.
Scorbunny turns his head to Buneary to answer her, "Oh, it's really cool. Everyone's so friendly around here." He rubs his sore face, "...A little too friendly if you ask me."
Buneary blushes as she begins to ask something else to Scorbunny, even putting her paws to her face to hide it, "S-so… so you think you might… stay?"
Scorbunny frowns as he looks down at the ground, "...I want to but I know I can't."
Buneary feels dejected by this, "O-oh… I see." She looks at the ground as well, feeling more upset about it than Scorbunny.
Scorbunny turns his head up to look at Buneary again, "I'll make the most of it while I'm here, though. Especially with you." He gives Buneary a smile to show the positives in this.
Buneary looks back to Scorbunny and looks into his eyes, her own glistens, "Oh…~"
Scorbunny blushes a bit and looks away, "Heh heh heh…" He chuckled nervously, "So, um… where is your room?"
"M-my room?" Buneary repeats sounding confused but at the same time surprised.
"Yeah, your room. You do have one, right?" Scorbunny looks back at Buneary.
Buneary blushes from the question, "O-of course, I'm just… kind of shocked that a boy that I like wants to go to my room…" completing her sentence, this makes Buneary really embarrassed as she covers up her face with her waist fluff, "Oh my gosh! I didn't even have the time to tidy up! I don't want you to think I'm a messy Pokemon!" She squirms.
Scorbunny chuckles at Buneary's bashfulness, "Oh come on, Buneary! A messy room is not going to make me think less of you. I think you're great!"
Buneary stops squirming and peaks out from her waist fluff, "G-great? You think I'm… great?"
Scorbunny beads sweat seeing how Buneary is taking that comment, "Uh…" Not even realizing how she could have taken that, he finally realises, "W-wait! That's not what I meant! I meant great as in a great friend!" He chuckles nervously, but then… he sees Buneary's change of mood.
"F-friend?" Buneary says taken completely aback. She then begins to look very gloomy, getting tears in her eyes, "F-friendzoned…" She sniffles as she wipes tears with her waist fluff.
Scorbunny panics, frantically waving his arms around, "N-no! You're not friendzoned! I-I was just… c-can we just talk about this in your room before I accidentally make this worse?" He says, feeling defeated.
"S-sure…" Buneary says, walking to her room, still sniffling from sobbing.
Scorbunny follows Buneary to her room, sighs from how much of a mess he made of things, "Real nice… Scorbunny…" He says in his head, facepalming.
In Buneary's Room
Scorbunny and Buneary enter the room with Buneary still crying a little bit, Scorbunny tries his best to fix this, "Buneary, listen… sorry I made you cry… again, I panicked and I feel bad. I just… um…" He puts a paw to his chin to try to think about what he's trying to say.
Buneary wipes her tears with her own, "Is it because I'm being too pushy? I understand if it is. I've scared potential boyfriends that way…"
Scorbunny's ears move up a bit hearing that, "You mean… you've had other crushes before? Sorry for being blunt, I'm just curious."
Buneary nods, "It's fine… you're really nice about it because you want to know more about me and I love that about you… and you also let me be close to you even if you don't feel the same way about me. But… why?" She frowns, finishing her sentence.
Scorbunny pauses for a bit to think about what he wants to say, he gulps, "...As I said, I don't like seeing you cry nor do I want to make you feel sad. Also…" His ears droop as he thinks about something sad, he frowns.
"W-what is it…?" Buneary gives Scorbunny a look of concern.
Scorbunny looks at Buneary seriously, "...The thing about me not feeling the same way… isn't entirely true…"
Buneary's eyes lit up hearing this, "R-really?"
Scorbunny nods, "But I feel that I can't make a commitment to this… I feel that I don't belong here...that I should go back to the human world…" He frowns, "S-sorry…"
Buneary's lit up eyes went away, "O-oh, was that why you were hesitant about all this…?" She frowns.
Scorbunny nods, "Again… I'm so sorry... " He looks at the ground trying to think, "However… I am still not certain on what I should do about this. I don't want to turn you down, but I would like to think about this some more. I promise I'll find the answer as soon as I can."
Buneary's eyes lit up once again as she's filled with hope now, "How did I meet someone as nice as you? You don't mind being close to me, even being originally a human, you are actually growing to like me, and despite feeling that you should return home, you still want to find out if you can be with me." Buneary smiles happily about this, "So, um… What if you can stay? Would you… want to be with me?" She blushes saying that.
Scorbunny looks at her face and blushes as well, "H-honestly… it's hard to say no when you're being so cute."
Buneary gasps hearing that, "C-cute?!" She gets even redder, "A-and that's a yes, right?!" She covers her face with her paws. "How can you even say those things and won't give me an answer?! You're the worst!"
"H-hey! I wouldn't know if Pokemon that are turned into humans are able to stay for long or not! That's what I want to know!" Scorbunny flails his arms frantically, being embarrassed about the situation. "J-just give me some time to think, okay?" Scorbunny shrugs saying that.
Buneary hops closer to Scorbunny and gets right to his face, "And just when will that be?!" She gets even closer, "I've heard other boys say that to me before!" She then gets even closer, "And as nice as you are, you might be the type that'll take forever to come up with an answer, leaving me hanging for a long time!" She gets so close to his face that Scorbunny has to lean back away, "Just what type of human were you to do that to a girl?!" Buneary puts her forehead to Scorbunny, making a pouty face.
"Uuuuuuh… ummm…" Scorbunny beads swat as he tries to come up with an answer, blushing as well.
"...Kidding~!" Buneary says, sticking her tongue out playfully.
Scorbunny falls over in defeat, "Tricking me like that is more like a Mawile than a Buneary!" He chuckles nervously but at the same time, getting over the fear of the situation.
Buneary hops closer to Scorbunny, standing underneath him, but not on top of him, "Sorry, I couldn't help myself, seeing you getting so worked up over all of this, I couldn't resist! Plus, I find your reactions really cute~!" She smiles at Scorbunny.
"Um… that… uh…" Scorbunny says, lost for words, just like before.
"Hey! It's time to eat, you two!" Lopunny says, walking into the room, she notices Buneary and Scorbunny close to each other, "Aw… you two really make a cute couple~!"
Scorbunny blushes red, "W-w-what?!" So red in fact that the pads on his feet started to catch on fire.
Buneary giggles at that and says to Scorbunny, "Come on! Let's eat~!" She hops away, following Lopunny to the dining room.
Scorbunny's flames die out as Scorbunny sighs with relief, "Bunearys… what a pain…"
Buneary Den: Dining Room
Scorbunny enters the room where the Bunearys like to eat at, as he sees it, it's not as big as he imagines, pretty much a big leaf for the table with a pile of berries lying on top of it, Lopunny waves at him, "Hey! Sorry it's not much to look at but please sit down with us. Maybe next to your girlfriend~" She teases.
Scorbunny flinches a bit hearing that but continues to walk, "Don't object, I don't want to make a scene again…" He thinks to himself as he sits down next to Buneary.
"Yay~!" Buneary cheers as she picks up a berry, "Here." She sticks it into Scorbunny's mouth.
"Hrmph!" He muffles with his mouth stuff with a berry, he chews it up, he then smiles at the taste of it, "Oooh… not bad!"
Lopunny smiles seeing Buneary feed Scorbunny a berry, "Now, Scorbunny… do the same for Buneary~"
"The… same?" Scorbunny says confused. He pauses for a bit until he gets it, "Oh!" He picks one up, blushing at the thought. "Why do I have to be so nice?!" He screams in his head as he smiles with the berry in paw.
Lopunny helps Buneary out, "Now, Buneary… say 'Ah…' She instructs Buneary by opening her own mouth.
Buneary does what Lopunny does, "Aaaah…~" She opens her mouth wide.
"Can't believe I'm doing this…" Scorbunny says in his head with his expression still smiling, he puts the berry into Buneary's mouth.
The other Buneary collectively goes, "Awwwww…~"
Buneary chews the berry up happily, "So good~!" She squeals in delight.
Scorbunny collapses from what he did, "What have I done?"
Another Buneary exclaims happily, "I want a boyfriend to do that for me, too!"
Another Buneary chimes in, "Me too!"
And Another, "Me three!"
Soon enough, all the Buneary agrees with the other, Scorbunny beads sweat hearing all the Bunearys clamoring about wanting the same.
Lopunny smiles at this, "Now now… you'll all get to have a special sweetie soon enough. Now, it's time to continue eating~"
A while later
Everyone at the dinner table sighs with satisfaction at the berries they've ingested, "Wow, that was so good~!" Buneary says with a blushing smile, looking very relaxed.
Lopunny smiles at Buneary's happy face, "I'm glad you enjoyed them. We've spent quite a while picking the best berries we could find." She turns to face Scorbunny, "What about you, little one?"
Scorbunny gets the same expression as Buneary, "I dunno if it's because I'm a Pokemon, but those were really good berries…" His voice becomes so relaxed and carefree.
Lopunny beams seeing Scorbunny's reaction to the berries, "Well, there's no mistaking that you enjoyed them, too~" She suddenly gets reminded, "That's right…" She motions both Buneary and Scorbunny, "Come with me, you two." She walks off, towards her own room.
Scorbunny and Buneary look at each other and then walk off to follow Lopunny.
Inside Lopunny's Room
Lopunny slowly walks towards a book that's sitting right next to her bed which is just a giant leaf, she bends down to pick it up, "Now…" She begins to look through it and finds a page she was looking for, "It says here that humans have wandered into our world and they turn into Pokemon, legends say that they stumble upon portals that lead to it or Pokemon from their world take them here to do a certain purpose."
Scorbunny pops in to ask a question, "Does it say what that purpose is?"
Lopunny shakes her head, "No… the transformed human must find out for themselves, whether it be dreams, visions or anything of the sort." She continues reading, "You are able to stay if you wish but there are oftentimes where these humans must return."
Scorbunny beads sweat hearing that, "O-oh…"
Lopunny gives Scorbunny a reassuring smile, "Don't worry, though, maybe you're one of those who can stay~!"
Scorbunny stares at the book and asks another question, "So… how do you even have this book in the forest?"
Lopunny answers with a smile, "Oh, that's easy! Pokemon who walk into the forest tend to drop their stuff by accident!" She then holds the book to her face, "And then we call 'finders keepers' on them~!"
Scorbunny beads sweat, giving Lopunny a look, "And you don't try to return them to their rightful owners?"
Buneary chimes in, "Nope~!" She then gets all spooky, "That means that you completely belong to me since I foooound yoooou…" She raises her arms in an attempt to grab Scorbunny.
Scorbunny flinches in fear, "Gah!" His eyes widened.
Buneary stops, as she sticks her tongue out, "Kidding~!"
Scorbunny falls to the ground, "Again with that!"
"Joking aside, the reason we do this is because we aren't from a town. In our world, there are Pokemon who live in towns and Pokemon who live out in the wild, in Mystery Dungeons or the like. We are considered wild Buneary and Lopunny." Lopunny explains further. "Of course that means if the Pokemon who dropped their stuff really wanted to, they could post a request for rescue teams to retrieve their stuff." Lopunny winks, "Of course, they'll have to find us first~!"
Buneary chimes in again, "And we'll have to fight them off."
Scorbunny raises his paw, "Question, what are Mystery Dungeons and rescue teams?"
Lopunny claps her paws, "Excellent question! Mystery Dungeons are areas with mysterious powers that change the landscape with every visit inside. And rescue teams are town Pokemon who take jobs there!"
Scorbunny takes a moment to sink that in and replies, "That sounds kinda cool, actually."
Lopunny then asks the intrigued Scorbunny, "Are you actually interested in that kind of thing? You know if you actually formed a rescue team and then returned here, we would be forced to fight you, right?"
Scorbunny begins to sweat nervously, "Um…"
"...And we won't hold back!" Lopunny continues with an angry look on her face. And as soon as she sees Scorbunny panics, her expression relaxes once more, "Kidding!"
Scorbunny falls over, "...Now I see where Buneary gets it from!"
Lopunny continues, "So, anyway… that's pretty much the gist of what our world has to offer. I could tell you more but I think you should find out this stuff on your own."
Scorbunny nods, placing a paw on his chin, "I see… so what should I do? Or more specifically… where should I go? I mean… I don't know this world and I should explore it, right? Where would I even go from here?"
"That too is where you should find out for yourself, if I were you, though, I would find the closest town and heading there first, the Pokemon there will be able to help you out more there."
Scorbunny nods and sticks a finger into the air, "And that's where I should go!" Looking very confident. He cuts back on it as he scratches his head nervously, "Heh… sorry about that… anyway, thank you guys so much for the hospitality but I should really be going."
Buneary, of course, looks very upset by this, but she isn't in position to object, "Oh... o-okay…"
One of Scorbunny's ears twitch and looks at Buneary, "Don't worry… I'll be sure to come back and visit. Who knows? Maybe, I'll be able to stay and I could live here or something. Heh heh…"
Buneary nods, "I would really like that…" She says unenthusiastically but still giving a tiny smile.
Just then… dirt from the ceiling begins to crumble above them, Buneary and Lopunny immediately looks up, with their ears erected. Scorbunny follows their gaze, "Um… what's going on?"
Lopunny responds seriously, "Intruders… Buneary! Go and round up the rest of the Buneary and let's get ready to hide!"
Buneary salutes with her ear and her paw, "Yes, ma'am!" She hops out of the room to gather the rest of her sisters.
Scorbunny looks around frantically and then darts back at Lopunny and asks, "T-then what should I do?!" He points to himself.
Lopunny tells the nervous Pokemon, "I know that we are none of your business but it would mean the world to us and Buneary if you were to check outside for the intruders. If possible, I would like you to drive them away."
Scorbunny nods, "You got it! But, uh… what are you going to do?"
Lopunny begins to hop away from Scorbunny, while replying, "We aren't actually fighters so I'm going to guard where the Buneary are hiding. I'll be second in defense if you were to fail."
Scorbunny hops away as well, passing Lopunny, "I'll make sure I don't!"
Outside The Buneary Den
Scorbunny finds his way out of the den and checks to see who is making all that ruckus and sure enough, "Oh… it's you…" His face grimaces as he sees his old foe.
What appears before is the very same Pokemon that they were talking about not too long ago… Diggersby! "Hyuck hyuck! Well, if it isn't that wimpy Pokemon that Combuskened out on me!"
Scorbunny doesn't look at all scared of Diggersby, he glares at the dim witted Pokemon, "It's not like you gave me much of a choice, but things are different now! I can take you!"
That triggered something to Diggersby, but something that is what Scorbunny didn't expect, "Oh… you're right. Things are different now. But... " He whistles and a whole herd of Bunnelby begins popping left and right, surrounding Scorbunny, "...can you take them?!" He shouts.
Scorbunny begins to beat sweat as they all approach him, "Think fast, Scorbunny!" He thinks to himself as he leaps high up into the air, but… all the Bunnelby are one step ahead of them as they leap with him and grab him by the feet and pull him back to earth. They all begin to pin him down, making him completely defenseless.
Diggersby slowly walks toward Scorbunny and looks down at him, "Now… where's all the Buneary hiding at, hmm?"
Scorbunny grits his teeth and tries to pull himself free, "Grrrr… I'm not… graagh… telling you!"
Diggersby gets a bit of the chortles as he hears the stubborn Pokemon, "How heroic of you… but pretty stupid. Hyuck hyuck! But I don't really need you to find them..." He begins to pull back his big fist ears.
"STOP!" A voice calls out to Diggersby, all the bad rabbit Pokemon collectively turn towards the source of it. It was… Buneary! "Leave my Scorbunny alone, you bullies!" She looks just as fierce as Scorbunny was as she puts up her dukes.
Scorbunny calls out to Buneary, "What are you doing here?! You're supposed to be hiding with the others!"
Buneary nods, walking up to the Diggersby and his gang, she says to Scorbunny, "Yes… but I'm not letting this creep get away with this! You are very important to me, Scorbunny, even though we just met recently… I feel like… well, I'll tell you later! Right now… let's protect our den!"
Diggersby gets an even bigger fit of chortles, "HYUCK HYUCK! Now this is a surprise! The Buneary that I 'met' in the woods is now trying to save her little boyfriend! I suppose this is worth a few laughs. And after this… let's finish what we started!" He finishes off with another series of dopey laughs.
Buneary's expression hasn't changed, she seems like a different Pokemon since when she was attacked, "Not a chance!" She charges in at the horde, she pulls back her ears like a coiled spring, the puffs on them begins to glow. She exclaims, "Dizzy punch!" She goes into the crowd of Bunnelby wildly with her dizzy punches. She manages to get some off of Scorbunny.
Diggersby, who is shocked that Buneary managed this, since he took her lightly, didn't take this too… lightly, "Don't just stand there! Get her!"
The thrown off Bunnelbys begin to get up from their blows, they hop towards Buneary, "Oh no, you don't!" Scorbunny cries as his feet are set free, "Double kick!" He exclaims as he rockets a quick foot at the approaching Bunnelbys and then the other.
The ones who are pinning him down begin to go over his feet and try to pin them down, "I don't think so!" Scorbunny begins to do another double kick and kicks one towards the group who are pinning his arms down, and then another. After that quick maneuver, he finds himself free and he back flips away from them, jumping beside Buneary.
Diggersby isn't having this, "Arrrgh! Can't you stupid Bunnelbys do anything right?!" He goes over to them so he can do things himself, "Alright then… we can all take them, after all… they're outnumbered."
Scorbunny looks over to Buneary and says, "Buneary, please go back with the others and hide."
Buneary, of course, refuses, shaking her head, "I won't leave you! After all… I was the one that got you into this mess! It's more my fight than yours!"
Scorbunny's ears droop hearing that, he frowns, "But I… she… okay, but let's work together!"
"We're counting on that!" Another group of voices shout out. The two Pokemon turn around and it's the other Bunearys, they all are willing to fight.
Buneary gasps, "S-sisters? B-but… why?"
The other Bunearys hop in front of Buneary and Scorbunny, "We're family, sis! We stick together! Now, we'll go fight the Bunnelbys while you two go and fight Diggersby!"
Buneary and Scorbunny look at each other and nod in unison and back at the Bunearys, "Right!" Buneary exclaims. Buneary and Scorbunny grab each other's paws and hop towards Diggersby.
Diggersby obviously isn't intimidated by this at all, "Big talk for such weak Pokemon! Such a shame I have to hurt such a cute face." Obviously talking about Buneary.
Buneary makes a retort right back, "Such a shame I have to hurt such an ugly face!" It makes Scorbunny snicker a bit.
Diggersby growls and begins to charge at the two at full force, with his fist ears raring to go.
Buneary straightens out her ears, getting ready to intercept Diggersby's attack, "I'm going to need your help for this one, Scorbunny."
Looking at what Buneary is doing, Scorbunny nods, and readies his own ears. The two of them ready their ears, lowering them down in front of Diggersby, countering his own. The two of them prepare for impact.
Their ears clash and not even with the two of them can they withhold Diggerby's own powerful ears. They get pushed back, but Buneary's and Scorbunny's hold on like their life depends on it. Diggersby still push, and still the two of them get knocked back, dirt and other debris fly behind the two little rabbit Pokemon. Eventually… something wells up inside Scorbunny as his feet begin to catch on fire and Scorbunny realises, "Wait… am I… a fire type? My inner being feels like it's engiting! I wonder…" Scorbunny takes a deep breath, fire begins to build up in his mouth and his hunch is one hundred percent correct. Diggersby doesn't even realize as he's breathing too much of his own ego to even notice what Scorbunny is up to. And then… "EMBER!" Scorbunny shouts this as loud as he can and he releases the fire he built up, little balls of fire shoot out of his mouth and hit Diggersby at point blank and sends him flying! Buneary is even surprised by this and gasps a bit seeing the brute Pokemon go flying. Scorbunny takes the lead and hops towards Diggersby and gets ready for the final blow, "I'll need your help with this, Buneary…"
Buneary completely understands and answers with a nod, "Double…" She readies her own feet, as she goes in sync with Scorbunny's own footwork.
"KICK!" Both of them shout in unison as they both kick Diggersby as hard as they could, both of their kicks on top of the previous momentum of the ember attack made Diggersby come careening towards bunch of tree, he takes some of them with him as the force made them snap without little effort, soon… the trees slows the velocity of his flight and he finishes it in a pile of broken trees.
Victory is theirs! Scorbunny couldn't hardly believe it, "We… won?" He gets so ecstatic that he jumps high into the air with a, "Yahoo!" He gets carried away and takes Buneary's hands and swings her around in a circle, "We did it, Buneary!"
Buneary gets a bit freaked out by Scorbunny's sudden reaction, "T-take it easy!"
Scorbunny realises this and puts her down, "S-sorry, I don't know what came over me… I just… well this was my first ever fight and I won… I mean… we won!"
"Well done, you two." A voice rings from the forest, the two look towards the source and it was Lopunny, she walks calmly to them with the rest of the group, each of them holding hands with one of the Bunnelby.
Scorbunny notices this right away and points at them, "W-wait a moment! What are THEY doing with them?! They're with that creep!"
Lopunny shakes her head, "Not exactly… Diggersby only recently recruited them in hope that he could get even with you two, however… as the Bunnelby fought the Buneary, they… fell in love.
"Oh…" Scorbunny says simply.
Diggersby begins to get up, "What's this?! You all betrayed me?! How dare you! I promised you guys that you'll get one of the Buneary and this is how you thank me?!"
Scorbunny laughs, "But they did, no thanks to you!"
Buneary laughs along with Scorbunny and then chimes in, "That's right! So you just get outta here! Go on! Shoo shoo!" She shoos Diggersby away with her ears.
Diggersby jumps into the air and looks like he's getting ready to fight again, "Why I oughta…" But then… he collapses onto the ground due to the battle with Buneary and Scorbunny.
Lopunny shakes her head, "Goodness me… what am I going to do with you?" She hops towards Diggersby, "Now… I cannot forgive for what you've done to one of my Buneary, normally, I would tend to your wounds but you quite frankly deserve them." She pulls back her feet and then kicks Diggersby as hard as she could and Diggersby goes blasting off into the sky, leaving a star in the sky.
Scorbunny and Buneary put a paw to their forehead as they watched Diggersby go flying, for real, this time. "Welp… that takes care of that!" Scorbunny says, brushing off his paws, "Now… what should I do now?"
Lopunny helps out Scorbunny by saying, "Might I suggest travelling to the nearest town, it's pretty far away from this forest but I'm sure a Pokemon as tough as you can handle it." She gives Scorbunny a giggle.
Scorbunny nods, "And that's where I'll go! Thank you all so much for taking care of me, but I really should be going. I need to find more about me."
Buneary gasps, "G-go?! C-can't you spend the rest of the day with us and go in the morning? Y-you'll have more sunlight to spend!" Buneary fidgets her paws as she tries to come up with an excuse.
Scorbunny shakes his head, "Sorry… I've already done my part and paid you guys back for taking care of me. I don't want to be a burden to you all and I really need to learn how to take care of myself. Besides… if I stay any longer, I'll never want to leave." He chuckles a bit.
Buneary begins to tear up hearing this, "Then… then… t-take me with you!"
Scorbunny gets taken aback hearing this, "You want to come with me…?" Scorbunny frowns, "I… I wish I could, but… you belong with your sisters. I can't possibly take you away from them."
Lopunny smiles as a thought pops into her head, "Buneary… how about you and I lead Scorbunny out of this forest? That's as much as we could do for him."
This hurts Buneary even more as she didn't hear Lopunny say anything about letting her leave with Scorbunny, "B-but…" Even so… she doesn't want to disobey her, "O-okay…" She feigns a smile, "We'll lead you out of the forest, Scorbunny, just… please come visit us again, okay?" She tries to smile sweetly at Scorbunny, even as heartbroken as she is.
Scorbunny nods, beaming brightly, "You bet!"
Outside the Forest
As Scorbunny, Buneary and Lopunny exit the forest, they come across a large open field, with hills and the occasional trees as far as the eye could see! Scorbunny couldn't believe his eyes, "Wow! This is ginormous!" He is in awe as his eyes glimmer, "I guess this is what being a Pokemon is, then. Makes me want to get out there and explore!" He turns back to the two Pokemon and says, "Thank you all for everything! I really appreciate all the help you gave me and even just being there to talk to!"
Buneary goes to say, "I should be the one thanking you, Scorbunny! You saved my life and even accepted my feelings. I…" She begins to cry, but she holds it in, "I really hope to see you again! Good luck!"
Scorbunny nods, "Thanks!"
Lopunny adds on, "Safe travels, little one~!" She pets Scorbunny on the head.
Scorbunny blushes a bit and smiles sheepishly, "Y-yeah… well… see ya!" He turns to the large field and goes off his merry way.
Buneary watches him go, her eyes immediately begin filling up with tears, "It hurts, Lopunny…"
Lopunny nods, "I know, sweetie… but even if you love something… or someone… you should still set them free."
Buneary wipes her eyes and sniffles, "I know… but still…"
"You want to go with him, yes?" Lopunny says as she fully well knows what Buneary is going to say.
Buneary's ears perk up as she has her paws together, being at full attention to Lopunny, "That's that I really want most in the world but… he's right. I can't leave you all here."
Lopunny goes to pet Buneary the same way as she did Scorbunny, "...Safe travels, little one~!"
Buneary suddenly realizes, "You mean…?" She then sees the rest of the Buneary behind Lopunny and waves goodbye, as they are waving goodbye to their sister.
Buneary goes into tears yet again, "T-thank you all!" She goes on one foot, spins around and faces towards where Scorbunny is heading and hops towards him, "SCOOOOOOORBUNNY~!"
Scorbunny's ears perk hearing Buneary's voice coming very close by, "H-huh?" He turns around and suddenly sees Buneary leap into the sky and come towards him, "B-Buneary?!"
Buneary body slams Scorbunny and the two of them go rolling down a hill together, "I'm coming with you!" She lands on top of Scorbunny and rubs her face on his chest, embracing him tightly, "I'll stick with you to the very end!"
Scorbunny beads sweat as he sees how happy Buneary is, "O-okay." He smiles anyway.
Buneary realises what she's doing, "O-oh…" She sits on top of Scorbunny looking really nervous about her action, her paws touching and her face is red, "S-sorry… you're probably sick of hearing this but you mean so much to me even if we just met yesterday. I… love you, Scorbunny!"
Scorbunny didn't know what to say as he's really nervous about how sudden it really is, and Buneary's expression or the fact that she's on top of him didn't help, either, "U-um… I'm still a human so…"
Buneary, even if her face is still red, she retorts to Scorbunny, "I told you that I don't care about that! I still love you! You are just saying that because you don't know what to say!"
Scorbunny gulps, "Uh… n-no? B-but uh… can you please get off of me?"
Buneary shakes her head, "Not until you say it back~" she sticks her tongue out at Scorbunny.
Knowing full well what she means by that, Scorbunny nods, "Alright then…" Scorbunny takes a moment, he takes a deep breath and says, "...I love you, too."
Buneary's eyes widen, "Y-you actually…" Her face gets even more red, she hops off of Scorbunny.
Scorbunny gets up and sees Buneary cover her face with her fluff, "Um… are you okay?"
Buneary eventually calms down, "I'm… I'm fine. That's all I wanted to hear. Let's go, Scorbunny~!" Her face is smiling happily.
Seemingly forgetting what happened earlier, Scorbunny puts a paw into the air, "Yeah!"
With that, the two of them rush forward! What could be lurking beyond the fields? And what town are they going to go to what will await them upon their destination? Find out next time!
