Okay, so Hola de nuevo a todos! So, I have not yet updated my previous story, I know pero I had this idea today and I just wanted to complete it as soon as possible. Y gracias por los comments, guys. I hope you like this one too.

So, this takes place ten years after the Last Sacrifice. After Dimitri and Rose sleep together in the hotel room, he decides that it's wrong and he'll never be able to stay away from her as long as he's there, and he runs away to Baia, his hometown in Russia. When he returns after several years, he finds out that Rose ran away with Adrian mere weeks after Tasha was hanged and nobody, not even Lissa, and Christian, has heard from them since. Nobody knows why. And then he guards Christian for a few years. So, he has not seen Rose in ten years that makes Rose 28 and Dimitri 35 in this story.

I don't own the Vampire Academy or its characters, just the plot.

So go gentle on me guys, this is only my second fanfiction. I'm a little new here. So...Espero que lo disfrutes

Missed this Place

It had been a really long time since I had last seen this place. And by "a really long time" I mean more than ten years. Not much had changed though. I could still make out the familiar noises of students moving in the corridor, laughing with friends. It was loud, yes, but I had to admit that I felt nostalgic. I had missed this place, where it all started, St. Vladimir's or I could say, the Vampire Academy.

With all the homesickness I felt, this place also, however, brought out some memories from the past. Memories that were best forgotten. It was here that I first met her, it was here that we shared our first kiss. It was here that we fell in love. God, I still remembered it. All of it. And every single recollection of her was like a slow and painful twist in the guts.

I was walking down the corridor, towards the headmistress's office when a familiar voice shouted from behind me, "Belikov! It's you. When they first called me to inform me about your transfer to the academy, I was pretty sure it was some sorta mistake, but here you are. It is good to see you again."

"It's good to see you too, Alberta. Still working here, I see."

"Ha Ha. I am. And I don't regret it." Alberta grinned and added, "Well, most of the time. So, why don't you go sit in my office for a little while, I will be there shortly after submitting this paperwork, huh?"

"Sure. I am looking forward to working here again."

See? Turns out I could work here without recalling Rose. That little chat with Alberta was already making me confident. Satisfied, I strode towards the head Guardian's office. I remembered the last time I had walked down these corridors. It felt like an entirely different world. I think it was. Then, I was sure that I could make it. That we could make it. As long as we had each other. Now... I'm not even sure I could make it through the week.

As I entered the office, lost in these thoughts, I saw that someone else was already sitting there with his feet on the table. He was definitely a dhampir, almost a foot shorter than me, with chestnut brown hair that was cropped closely at the sides but allowed to grow slightly wild at the top such that some strands fell into his eyes and on his forehead. He had sharp features, a straight nose, and full lips, but it was something else about him that threw me off guard. His eyes. Those eyes were the same ones that haunted my nightmares and resided in my fantasies. The same beautiful almond-shaped brown eyes that used to go from playful to serious to alert in a matter of seconds.

It took me a few seconds to realize that I'd been staring long enough for the boy to notice. He was giving me a confused look with an eyebrow raised. I blinked a few times as if breaking a trance and sat on the empty chair by him. I noticed then that he was reading a western novel by Gusto Dave. I tried to occupy myself tracing the patterns on the curtains with my eyes, but I could feel eyes on me and, surprisingly, it made me a little...uncomfortable. I looked in the direction of the dhampir, to see him studying me with his eyes narrowed and a small smile gracing his lips.

"What?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"You are new here, huh?" he replied.

"Yeah."

"Well, lemme give you a bit of advice, whenever you see a student with his legs on the table, you are supposed to tell him off and say, 'This is the last time I'm tolerating this behavior Mr. Sage, feet off the table, now!', kay? Your turn."

I didn't get to reply, 'cause someone behind us shouted, "This is the last time I'm tolerating this behavior Mr. Sage, feet off the table, now!"

"See? That's what I was talking about," he muttered and I tried to control my smile as Alberta walked to where we were sitting.

"'Sup Guardian Petrova? I heard you wanted to see me."

"Where did you get this book? I confiscated it with me the last time, as far as I remember."

"Yep," he said, popping the p. "I took it from that cupboard where you keep all the things you rob innocent children of, and by the way, I ate some of the candies. I hope you don't mind, not that we can do anything about it now."

"You are here way too often, Mase," Alberta told him, shaking her head slowly.

"Hey, your call, not mine." Mase grinned. "So let's get down to business. Why am I here? I did not beat anyone up." he asked and added a "Yet." under his breath.

"No. You didn't beat anyone up. Yet. And that's not why you're here. I am thinking about changing your mentor. What do you say?"

"Oh no! I love training with Guardian Alto! Seriously? Do you have to ask? This is the third time you assigned him to me and, I am sick of his "You're not doing this properly" and "You're not doing that properly" and "What did I ever do to deserve this" crap. No, actually, I am sick of him period."

"You're not allowed to backbite about your teachers. No, actually, you're not allowed to backbite period."

"Holy moly, Alberta! This is the second time you mocked me just now, so, in return, I'm expecting you to assign me a wonderful guardian who lasts longer than a month. I would prefer if you give me none at all, though. Just saying that I think I've learned enough from all these extra lessons, I mean, wouldn't it be an injustice to the others if I continue beating them off like this because apparently, the head guardian thinks I should still get extra classes in combating as the punishment of a crime I committed months ago, eh?"

"We all know that you are not taking combat lessons to better your fighting skills. I have seen you fight, you've got talent and I'm not denying that Mase, but you have to learn to control yourself. And that's why I've decided to make Guardian Belikov in charge of your training."
