"These insufferable little prats!" Hermione yelled, throwing her hands up. Harry and Ron were nowhere to be found on the train at first, but she had found them in her compartment, each snogging their respective partners.
She was walking in the middle of the aisle, trying to find an empty compartment, or at least a compartment consisting of people she knew, but no such train suddenly lurched forward and she stumbled into the compartment to her right.
With a yelp, she tripped over a school bag on the floor and fell into the lap of none other than Draco Malfoy. Blushing profusely, she scrambled off his lap, mumbling something along the lines of "I'm sorry" and "Your stupid bag was on the floor."
He placed a marker in his book and looked at her, exasperated. "What brings you here, Granger?" He had stopped calling her mudblood after she nearly broke his jaw with a right hook. Looking up, she said, "Harry and Ron are occupied in our compartment. Those insufferable little prats left me with nowhere to sit. So, here I am." He smirked at her, imagining her surprise when she found those two in her compartment.
She raised her eyebrows quizzically at his smirk, and he said, "How about we pay them a little visit- er, well not us." He waved his wand and the figure of Professor McGonagall appeared out of thin air. Hermione nearly fainted because of how real the apparition looked. "Don't worry, she'll only be visible to us and those two -what'd you call them?- insufferable little prats." Draco said.
Harry's and Ron's compartment was only 7 down from theirs, so they could easily see what was happening. Professor Mc- sorry, the apparition, cleared her throat and squinted at the two, much like the real McGonagall would have done.
She started speaking, much to Hermione's surprise, and when Hermione looked over, she saw Draco holding his wand to his throat and doing his best impression of McGonagall. Ron's face was as bright a shade of crimson as his hair, and Harry looked as if he would faint any second now.
The two girls, however, were giggling with each other at their being caught. "Young men," Draco/McGonagall chided. "I assumed you'd have more respect for the facilities. Please detach yourselves from miss Chang and miss Brown."
Ron turned an even darker shade of red (who knew it was possible to be that dark a shade of crimson?) and Harry was visibly shaking. Cho and Lavender ran down the aisle to their compartment, leaving Harry and Ron to defend themselves.
After a minute or two of Draco/McGonagall reprimanding their behavior, the apparition suddenly disappeared with a wave of Draco's wand, causing Harry and Ron to fall out of their seats in terror. Draco and Hermione looked at each other for a second before going into a fit of guffaws and giggles.
Once they were finished laughing, Hermione realized she had scooted so close to Draco she was nearly on his lap. She quickly scooted away, trying to hide her blush. Draco looked down at his book and Hermione pulled her own book out of her bag. The train suddenly rocked, sending Hermione back onto Draco's lap. However, this time, she didn't scoot away.
When they arrived at Hogwarts, Harry and Ron frantically looked for Hermione to tell her all about their experience, but a strange sight greeted them. Hermione had fallen asleep, her head on Draco's lap, and her hand intertwined with his. Draco hadn't noticed them, seeing as he was gazing at Hermione's sleeping face, so the two boys backed away.
Later, when Hermione said she had been at the library when asked where she was all this time, the two boys shared a very knowing smile that puzzled Hermione.
