Kaed's New Friend And Second Chances
Summary
I felt so tired, I didn't have the energy to move. But something beckoned me to open my eyes. I did, after a lot of effort. What I saw was not what I was expecting, I had been given a second chance. A second chance to start my life over, I wouldn't mess this up again. Three Moons! Thank you Kami! Thank you!

A New Friend
My eyes popped wide open in shock. I sat up with a start, I looked around to see the familiar classroom of the orphanage. I looked to see something that made me gape in shock, the brown haired girl, who had said that I could trust her was beating up the four boys that had threatened to kill my puppy. She held the puppy gently in one arm, while she punched the bullies with surprising strength.
"Now, do you understand what I told you? You won't pick on Kaed anymore, right boys?" She said in a sweet voice. A bright smile on her face, but her eyes told the story of how she was really feeling.
"Y-y-yes m-m-mam." The leader of the boys stuttered out as they picked themselves up off of the ground.
"Great, now leave! And don't you dare try that again!" She yelled, to the quickly fleeing boys. Then, she turned to me with a wide smile and surprise.
"I can't believe I just did that, I've never picked a fight before. But I had to, they had your puppy, I said you could trust me. Didn't I?" She asked, and I nodded, a huge grin on my face. After a moment of silence, I asked.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I never asked you what your name was." I said, rubbing the back of my head sheepishly.
"It's no big deal. My name's Akane, I already know you'rs, It's Kaed right?" She asked with a kind smile, I nodded with the same smile plastered onto my face.
"Now, C'mon let's go bring the puppy back to his home." Akane remarked cheerfully, and we headed to the mountains.
"I'm really glad that you helped me out back there. Thank you, I really appreciate it." I remarked with a happy smile. We arrived back at the orphanage just as the sun was beginning to set.
"Oh, Three Moons! We are so dead!" I yelled in panic, as we began sprinting to the entrance of the orphanage, and just as I had thought, the caretakers were standing outside, one looked furious while the other one looked worried and concerned.
"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU TWO WERE DOING OUT PAST YOUR BEDTIME!" Came the yelling voice of one of the orphanages caretakers. I didn't answer, instead I just glair at her, Lila wasn't very nice but the other caretaker, Kotomi, was really nice, she has very pretty midnight black hair and sky-blue eyes. She actually treats me like a real human being. But Lila? NO WAY! I DON'T LIKE HER.
"We were just out exploring that's all" I gave a greatfull look to Akane, who grinned back at me. Lila sighed and let out a frustrated growl as her eyes landed on me, I just turned my head away from her.
"Fine, but either way it's late and you two have school to attend in the morning" Kotomi scolds us gently and me and Akena both nod and make our way down the hallway.
"Three Moons! That was a close one" I say and Akena nods her head in agreement as we change into our pajamas and climb into bed, but I wasn't tired yet, so me and Akena stayed up taling for a while until we finally fell asleep.
The sound of birds chirping was what woke me the next morning. I slowly climbed down the ladder to the ground and I began to get ready for the day.
Akena had given me some outfits that she had made herself, I had protesting but she wouldn't let me say no. She had said that she had made them for me because all of my clothes were either torn or stained.
I smiled to myself as I gave myself a once-over in the bathroom mirror, once I was Satisfied with my outfit choice, I quickly combed my short red hair, being careful of my horns, once I finished combing my hair, I put a black headband around my head, it did an excellent job of hiding my horns.
"Hay, horns! Why are you wearing that headband? Are you so ashamed of those freely horns that your hiding them?" I kept a blank face as I stared at Tomoo.
"Shut up and mind your own Business" I say with a scowl on my face. I turn my back on him and make my way to science class with Akena, but I also have classes with these three jerks. We all have classes together, it sucks.
"Hi Akena!" I called, as I took seat next to my friend. She smiled brightly at me as we made small talk while we waited for our teacher to show up. As I was talking with Akena, I pulled out my sketchbook and I showed her some of my drawings.
"Wow! You're really great at drawing! Hay! That one looks like an older version of me and you!" Akena says, point to a picture of Lucy and Akena. Well, it wasn't really Lucy, but it was me when I was being controlled by the DNA voice.
"Hay! Akena! Kaed! Pay attention!" Our teacher, a kind but short-tempered and sassy woman named Hina, snapped, looking up from the whiteboard to stare at me and Akena. I smiled sheepishly and closed my sketchbook.
