#TeamNathan! Episode 7 "No Regrets" My version.
Laura had offered to watch baby Jack so Elizabeth could go on a picnic with Lucas. As Elizabeth neared the pond she saw Lucas was already there.
"You're early." Elizabeth smiled as she slid from the horse.
"I wanted everything to be perfect." Lucas replied. Elizabeth smiled again. She sat down on the blanket next to Lucas.
"Well, this is a lovely surprise." Elizabeth sighed. Lucas grinned at her and held up a cup of campaign.
"A toast to us." He smiled. Elizabeth smiled and picked her cup up.
"A toast to us." She repeated. Elizabeth held the cup to her lips. She looked at Lucas. He was staring at her.
"Let us eat." He motioned to the food set up. Elizabeth nodded her agreement.
"The food was delicious Lucas. Thank you." Elizabeth stood. Lucas smiled.
"My pleasure." He held out his hand. "Shall we go for a short walk?"
Elizabeth looked at his hand then at him. She smiled and took it. Lucas grinned. They walked along the pond a bit. Lucas suddenly turned to her.
"Elizabeth, would it be alright if we took the next step in our relationship?" He asked. Elizabeth bit her lip in thought. Lucas was waiting for an answer.
"I'll have to think about that one Lucas." Elizabeth smiled. Lucas drew closer to her. Elizabeth's heart beat faster. Elizabeth suddenly realized what was happening. She tried to pull away, but Lucas had a firm grip on her arms.
"Lucas, let go!" Elizabeth squirmed. Lucas's lips gently brushed hers before he realized what she said. He let go of her and she backed away.
"It's just a kiss Elizabeth." Lucas looked hurt. Elizabeth had tears in her eyes.
"Just a kiss?! A kiss is a sign of love." Elizabeth threw back.
"Then love me Elizabeth." Lucas walked closer.
Elizabeth shook her head and stepped back. "No." She turned and ran back to Jack's horse she mounted and rode away.
Elizabeth roped to the log on Jack's property were they carved their initials. She sat on the log and ran her fingers over the E and J.
"Oh Jack, I miss you so much!" Elizabeth cried, louder than she wanted to.
