Savior

The door swung open, shining light into the pitch-black room, revealing a beaten and exhausted prisoner. Then four individuals entered the room. There stood two Chinese army officers. One had his weapon drawn out. The other didn't but had a set of keys in his hand. The other two people were the challenger and then the Translator. One of the Officers went to uncuff the prisoner while the other Officer, to his right, kept an eye on the inmate if he tried anything. The Officer with the key grabbed his handcuffs and then cuffed the inmate's hands together before removing the handcuffs off the table. The second officer grabbed his arm, forcing him to leave off his chair. The second officer led him over to the Interrogator. The Interrogator spoke to the Translator. The Translator acknowledged, then transcribed to the prisoner.

"Mr. Cohen, your disengagement to speak will require us to try other methods of questioning until then; this is your last opportunity to comply before we move on to the next level of your interrogation."

Cohen only stayed hushed and stared at the Translator. The Interrogator nodded at the Officer. The Officer began to escort Cohen out of the room. While they were walking down the passage, one of the Officer' receivers went off. The only thing Cohen heard was the relentless screamings of people on the radio. The Officer with the radio tried to communicate with whoever's on the radio, but it went silent. Seconds later, the light's turned red, signaling there was an emergency. The Officer tried to speak again to the responder, but there was still only silence. He looked at the second Officer, then signaled him to stay with Cohen while escorts the Interrogator and the Translator. The three went down the hallway then took a right once they were gone. The Officer Checked for their presence, then pulled out his keys and uncuffed him. Without a second passed immediately, Cohen put the Officer on a chokehold. With a threatening voice, Cohen questioned the Officer.

"Why! Why did you free me!?" Cohen grabbed the Officers sidearm, threw him onto the wall, and then trained the firearm's sights onto his head.

"The Officer got up from the floor while rubbing his throat, and suddenly he spoke in somewhat perfect English. "After the Chinese military captured you, Cohen, the Union of Assassins suspected you of exposing their presence in the country, and they weren't going to take their chances on you this time. I came here to save you because powerful beings gave me the order. But in doing so, I have broken my oath to the Union." He said in sadness, but before the Officer could continue, Cohen interrupted.

"Jian?! What are you doing here? I thought you were in the Americas by now." He said, confused. But he was happy either way. He finally saw a friendly face for once. He lowered his weapon. He greeted his brother in arm, but Jian withdrew and warned him.

"You have to run, Cohen. There's no time left. Follow the marked route on the map. You won't be escaping through the conventional way." Jian proceeded to give him the map, as well as two notes. "This note is the access code to the computer, while this one." he hands the notes over to Cohen. Willingly but hesitant, Cohen took them off of Jian's hands and looked at the notes. Jian grabbed Cohen's arm, making sure he heard his words, "These are the coordinates for when you come back. You must not lose it for both you and all of humanity's sake." He lets go of Cohen's hand. He left him speechless. But he manages to collect himself, to speak.

"Jian, you are a man of few words but, right now, I need you to explain whatever kind of bullshit you just spoke out of your mouth!"

" There is not much time left, Cohen. They're after you!" He tried to retort back, but Cohen continued on his rant.

"What do you mean by "Both me and humanity's sake." What will happen to you? Who is this powerful being who gave you such order to save me? I know you don't believe in any spiritual gods, and YOU know I can keep great care of myself. And also, what am I going to be using to escape? Jian, this better be another one of your tests. Because I swear-" before he could finish, he was interrupted by multiple gunshots down the hallway, as well as more blood-curdling screams. Cohen looked down the hallway and back to Jian with a stern expression.

"You weren't lying," Cohen replied with a serious tone.

Moments later, a Chinese soldier appeared from the hallway running for his life. He begged for help, in Chinese but before he could reach them, he was stopped dead on his track with a throwing star right on the back of his head. He laid dead on the floor with many cut wounds on his back. Cohen and Jian recognized these marks, but they saw multiple dark figures wearing back apparel once they looked down the hall. They moved closer and closer to the two until the pack was visible in the red alarm lights. Cohen never agreed with the ways of the guild and their rules. They were unethical and unreasonable.

Cohen looked down at the bodies and back to them. Each time they were on an assassination mission, they always leave an innocent dead. He was infuriated. All he could think of was killing them. "Fucking Pajama wearing freaks!" He managed to pick off three of the figures in a flash only until one of them threw a dagger at his firearm, knocking it out of his hand. Before he could look back at the assassins, he saw a barrage of shurikens fly towards him, but none of them hit him, for someone took the hit for him. And it was his friend. His friend stood there with his back turned towards them. Jian stumbled forward, falling onto Choen. Cohen saw the many shurikens that were pierced all over Jian's Back. It was a bloody mess. Jian, with very little strength, left. He revealed a necklace and yanked it off his neck, and hands it to Cohen.

"Cohen," Jian spoke with barely any life left. "Take my family heirloom." With tears rolling down his face, he gently took the ornament off of Jian's hands. "You were more of a brother to me than this godforsaken brotherhood."

Jian lifted himself with all his strength and looked towards the group of dark figures again. They readied to throw their shurikens again, but Jian took something out of his pockets, revealing a c4 charge detonator before they could. "Even so much of a brother, I would take my life to save yours." Jian walked closer to the group. Jian pressed on the trigger arming the c4 showing a red blinking light on from his shirt. "Once, he held down the trigger. Now there was no going back for Jian. If he lets go, the c4 bomb vest will ignite and explode." Cohen thought to himself.

"I will meet you in hell… brother," Cohen said with a mirthless smile.

Jian turned around and gave Cohen a weak smirk before He dashed towards the group. Cohen instantly ran behind cover near seconds away from getting stuck under a huge mass of rubble left by the c4 blast. He got out of the cover he coughed due to the dust of concrete. It caved in, blocking the path from the assassins to Cohen. He looked at the heirloom, and it was a golden chained pendant with two carved figures. One shaped design resembled an angel, while the other was a demon. He puts on the necklace on his neck and then tucks it under his shirt so it wouldn't flail around. He took out what his now deceased comrade gave him, thoroughly read the map, and tried to make no mistakes on where he was going. Before he could continue, he couldn't help but look back at the pile of debris. He couldn't believe it, the one who saved his life from that work camp—the first time, now took his own life to save him again. He couldn't even repay his life debt to him. But the only thing he could do is do what he requested him to do. Run for the sole sake of Jian and humankind.

Authors note: I don't have much to add, but this is a follow-up of Ruthless made by LeMonsterl. You can't read the FanFic now because the original author deleted it and told me if I could finish it. And which I accepted, I'm going to attempt to complete the story, but this time with a bit more character development and with a more detailed plot, and yet I fear that I might ruin something unique from the story. Please leave any reviews if it's more information about the story or ways to improve my authorship. Thank you for taking your time reading this, and I hope you have a great time reading our story.
