"I told them," Mal heard Ben say through her head.
Mal rolled over in her bed because Ben woke her up.
"Huh?" she asked.
"Were you sleeping again?" he asked. "Did I wake you up?"
"Yes, I was sleeping," she said in a snarky tone.
"Alright," Ben said. "Note to self to never wake you up when you get over here," he said, making Mal laugh.
"Talking to your boyfriend again, Mal?" Evie asked, making Mal snap her head up.
"He's not my boyfriend," she said.
"Then what am I to you?" Ben asked.
"You heard her? How can you hear her? Is that something you learned how to do?" She asked.
Ben laughed. "No, but I felt how shocked you got, then you thought 'boyfriend', so I just put two and two together," he said.
"Oh," she said. "So… what were you saying before?" She asked, trying to get off the topic.
"Oh! Right! I talked with my parents and they said yes to your friends coming with you!" Ben said excitedly.
"Shut up! They did?" she asked.
"Yes. They know about you, obviously, and after you said that you would not come without your friends… they had no other choice other than to say yes because they really want to meet you," he told her.
"That's funny because when they first found out who my parents were you told me they were very, and how do I put this nicely… shitting their pants," she said, making Ben laugh.
"Well, after eight years, and the constant nonstop of me talking about you to them, they came around and I think they like you more than me, and they haven't even met you," he said.
Mal laughed. She rolled out of bed and walked over to her friends.
"Hey, guys," she said, making all of them look up at her. "What do you say about moving to a different hideout?" she asked.
"Where?" Jay asked. "There are not that many places on the Isle to move to."
"I was thinking more like… I don't know… Auradon," she said, making them all gape at her.
"Shut up," Carlos said in shock.
"Yeah," Mal nodded. "He's bringing the four of us over," she told them.
"What would our parents think?" Carlos asked.
"Does it matter?" Jay said. "Your mom uses you as a slave, my dad uses me to stock his store, Evie's mom only cares about her looks, and Mal's mom physically abuses her. We're lucky Hades took us when we turned 12 and you were 11," he said.
Mal started to remember the day her dad and Persephone took all of them in. They were having lunch in Hades restaurant when all four of their parents stormed into the building. Maleficent started to scream at Mal, making Hades yell back at her, and the other parents started to yell at their children. It got worse when Maleficent and Grimhilde tried to pull Mal and Evie out of the restaurant by their hair. Hades and Persephone almost killed them. Their actual powers may not have worked on the Isle, but the Isle couldn't take away their godly strength. They threw the parents out of the restaurant and told them that if they ever breathed the same air as any of the kids, they would be signing their souls away to the underworld.
"Stop remembering that," Ben said, making Mal break out of her thoughts. "I was so mad that day, my mom locked me in my room," he said.
"I'm sorry, okay. You don't have to get your fur all ruffled," she said with a chuckle.
"I'm not getting my fur ruffled," he said, trying to sound calm.
"Oh, really?" she asked. "Says the guy who gets irritated whenever a certain princess is around," Mal teased.
"Shut it, Bertha," he said, making Mal laugh. "I'm sending the invitations today, and they should get to you in a couple of hours, and a limo will pick you guys up on Friday. I have to go get your dorms ready and your classes before the semester starts, I'll see you tonight," he said.
"Okay, bye. Have a good day," she said.
"You too. Stay out of trouble," he told her.
"Me? Get in trouble? Why Benjamin, I would never," she said sarcastically.
He laughed, and then her head was silent. She knew they could feel things that the other was feeling, but it didn't happen all the time, only when it was a passionate or strong feeling.
"So, when are we leaving?" Jay asked as he stood up and clapped his hands together.
"Friday. Ben is sending the invitations over today and they should be here in a couple of hours," she told them.
"Wow, I can't believe that we're going to Auradon," Evie said as she started to bounce in her seat. "Oh, gods! I need to make us new clothes," she said as she stood up and started to pace frantically.
"E, what we have is fine," Mal said as she walked back to her room in their hideout.
"Ummm. No, Mallory. No, it's not," she said. "You are meeting the boy you have had this weird connection, where you can literally talk to him through your mind and see him in your dreams, and not to mention he is the FUTURE KING OF AURADON!" Evie rambled. "We need to make a good first impression. I wonder if I have enough fabric at your dad's? Do you think your mom would bring more on Wednesday if you call?" she went on.
"If you feel that passionate about the outfits, E, go ahead," Mal said.
Mal was kind of relieved that Evie wanted to make new outfits. She knew Ben had seen her in her Isle clothes from their dreams, but she did want to make a good impression on his patents. After all, they were the King and Queen of Auradon.
After telling her dad and calling her mom, and telling them what was going on they were excited to be seeing their kids getting off the Isle. They wished Hadie was able to go with them, but they knew he was too young, and Mal and the rest couldn't watch over a 10-year-old while doing their last year of school.
"So," Ben said as he walked up to Mal in their dream. "How'd it go?"
Mal looked up at him and smiled. The place that they dreamed about was a lake. Ben called it the enchanted lake and it was Mal's favorite place to be. She sat on the side of the lake and dipped her feet into the water.
"It was great," she said. "They're excited for us to get off the Isle. They only wish that Hadie could come along, but they know he's too young."
"Well, once he turns 14, he's going to come over here," he said as he sat down next to her.
"Don't make a promise you can't keep," she said as she nudged him with her shoulder.
"When he's 14 I'll be 21, almost 23. Plus, I am going to be king in a couple of months. Who's going to say no to me?" he asked.
Mal shook her head and laughed, making Ben smile. The sound of her laughter made his heart pound harder in his chest, and it was his favorite sound in the entire world.
"So, I felt your irritation today," she said. "So, was it Audrey or Chad today?" she asked.
"Well, surprisingly, it wasn't Chad. He's gotten a lot better since, but that could change. So, the only one would be Audrey," he said with a sigh. "She just doesn't get that I am not, nor will I ever be, interested in her," he said as he laid back down onto the ruins.
"Well, why not give her a chase?" she asked.
She knew she didn't want that to happen, but she had to make him think he had a choice.
"Oh, I don't know. I'm kind of into someone else," he said.
"Oh," she said as she laid down next to him. "And who would that be?" she asked.
"I don't know if I ever mentioned her," he said, making Mal's heart sink to her stomach. "She's great. She's insanely gorgeous, she's smart, she's funny," he continued.
Mal's started to feel a burning in her stomach. She didn't know Ben started to like a girl. He never even mentioned that he thought someone was cute let alone gorgeous.
"She is also very sassy, she's very artistic, has the voice of an angel, she loves the color purple," Ben said as he started to smile, and the burning in Mal's stomach started to go away. "She looks great in leather, she has a smile that can light up the world," he said before Mal shoved him, making him laugh.
"Shut up!" She said as she started to get red. "Don't do that."
"Do what? Tell you how much I like you?" He asked as he moved to his side. "Mal, you know how much I like you, and what you mean to me."
"Yeah. I know," she said. "You know what you mean to me too," she said as she turned her head to look at him.
"Then why do you keep telling me no when I ask if you'll be my girlfriend?" He asked.
"Because you haven't met me in real life," she said. "Hell, I could not look like this in real life and you don't know," she said with a smile on her face.
"I have no doubt in my mind that you look like this," he said.
"You don't know that,"she said.
"Well then, what do you look like?" He asked.
"Well, for starters, I have a huge nose that is covered in warts, I have an underbite with crooked teeth, and my hair is actually orange," she said.
"I see," hesaid. "Can I ask you a question?"
"If you must," she said, making him laugh.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked.
Mal laughed out loud. "You still want me to be your girlfriend, after what I said I looked like?" She asked.
"Of course," Ben said nodding his head. "There is no one I would rather be with than you," he said.
Mal smiled at him. "I have one condition though," she said.
"And what would that be?" He asked.
"I will be your girlfriend, but I don't want people to know until we have been in Auradon for a while," she said.
"Okay, but why?"
"If we come out of the limo and you charge up to me and give me a hug, what are people going to think?" She asked.
She had a point, Ben thought to himself.
"I just don't want people to think you brought me over because you wanted to be with me," she told him.
"But that is the main reason," he said. "Mal, when you told me where you were from and when I started to feel your pain of being on the Isle, I wanted to get you off," he said. "I was going to wait until you got here for me to tell you this, but once you guys are here for a year I am going to start a VK program," he told her, making her look at him in shock. "I want to bring kids over from the Isle. Kids who deserve to live here," he said.
"What?" She asked in shock.
"I'll tell you and your friends more about it when you get here, but yeah. I want to bring kids over from the Isle," he said again.
"Ben," she said in shock.
She didn't know what to say. All she could do was dive into his arms and wrap her arms around him so tight it was hard for him to breathe.
"We'll talk about it more when you get here," he said as she pulled away and looked down at him.
"Okay," she said nodding her head. "But please remember. No telling anyone about us or our connection for a while. You can tell your parents, Doug, Chip, and the rest of your castle family, but please no one else," she said.
"Okay," he said with a smile before pulling her back in for a hug.
Friday got here sooner than anyone was anticipating, especially Hades. He was excited that they were getting off the Isle, but he was sad to see his daughter and her friends leaving him. He counted all of her friends as his kids. They walked out of their rooms and were in their new outfits. Jay was wearing a pair of worn-out-looking burgundy jeans, a mustard yellow shirt, and a leather letterman's jacket-looking sweater. It had a 'J' on the right side and it was burgundy with mustard yellow sleeves, and he was wearing a pair of high tops Seph had bought him. Carlos was wearing a similar outfit, but his was black and white, but instead of a letterman's looking jacket, he wore his black and white leather jacket. Evie was wearing a pair of black leather pants, with a white flounce sleeves Bardot crop top with red flowers, and a pair of red heels. Mal was wearing a pair of dark-washed jeans, they looked almost black, but they weren't. Evie had made her an off-the-shoulder Bardot top that was purple, with mesh sleeves that were embroidered with blue flowers. Seph had bought them all new shoes and the shoes she bought Mal were absolutely amazing. They were purple retro-style combat boots with a chunky heel. They made Mal taller, but not by much. Carlos was still taller than her, but what did she expect from someone who is five foot two.
"You two," Hades said as he pointed to Evie and Mal. "Jacket on," he said as he gave them their jackets. "I can see your shoulders."
Mal and Evie laughed. They knew Hades was always protective of them and even if they were moving that would never change.
"You better make sure to tell your… boyfriend," Hades said as he shivered at the thought of his daughter having a boyfriend. "That if he mistreats you one time, he will have to deal with Zeus, Poseidon, and me when he dies," he said. "And you," he said pointing to Evie. "The same goes for you too young lady," he said, making Evie laugh.
"Zeus and Hera will be waiting with King Adam, Queen Belle, and Prince Ben when you arrive, and they are so excited to meet you," Seph said as she walked up to Mal.
"Thanks, mom," she said.
They made their way over to the limo waiting for them on the other side of the barrier. Once everyone said goodbye to Hades and Seph, and finally getting Hadie to let go of Mal's leg, the barrier opened just enough for the four teenagers to walk through.
"I'm getting impatient here," Ben said, making Mal laugh.
"Well, you'll have to be patient," she said as she walked toward the limo that already had the door opened.
They all put their bags in the trunk of the limo and hopped in the back. They waved goodbye one more time to their family as the limo started to pull away.
"So," Evie said as she sat in her seat. "Are you excited to meet your boyfriend face to face?" She asked.
"E! Shush!" Mal said as she thumbed toward the driver.
The window rolled down, making Mal slowly turn to look at the blonde guy with glasses through the small mirror.
"Don't worry, Mally," he said, shocking Mal. "Benji told me, and he was adamant that I make sure you get there safe and sound," he said.
"Chip?!" She asked.
"The one and only," he said with a chuckle.
"You sent Chip?" Mal asked.
"Yes, I sent Chip to get you guys," Ben said. "I hope that makes you feel more comfortable?"
"Yeah, it does. Thank you," she said.
"So, just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. We should be at Auradon prep in about 30 minutes," Chip said.
"Wow! So soon?" She asked, making Chip nod.
"Not soon enough," Ben said.
"Oh, shush you," she said, making Ben laugh.
They pulled up to Auradon prep and heard music playing in the background. Once Chip parked he hopped out of the driver's seat and walked over to open the back door.
"Gods! Can he walk any slower?" Ben asked, making Mal shake her head. "Oh gods," he said.
"What?" She asked.
"You'll see."
One by one the VKs got out of the limo, with Chip helping the girls out.
"Of course, you would be the last one out," Ben said, making Mal laugh.
Mal stepped out of the limo and when she looked up she saw Ben standing there in a pair of midnight blue dress pants, and a white fitted dress shirt with the two top buttons undone, and there was a girl with her arm looped through his.
"I see," Mal said. "I am assuming this is Audrey?" She asked.
"What made you think that? The pink dress with the blue cardigan? Or the fact that she is holding on to my arm tighter than a python?" He asked.
In front of Ben and Audrey was Fairy Godmother, and behind them were Ben's parents. They had big smiles on their faces as they looked at Mal. And then behind Ben's parents were Mal's aunt and uncle.
"I thought you said that you told them to act normal?" Mal asked.
"I did. My mom was literally going to tackle you before I told her our plan," he said.
"Welcome to Auradon Prep. I'm Fairy Godmother, headmistress," she said with a bow.
She moved to the side and gestured for Ben and Audrey to step forward.
"I'm Ben," he said with a smile on his face.
"But you guys already knew that," he added through their minds, making Mal bite her bottom lip to stop her laugh.
"PRINCE Ben," Audrey said, interrupting. "Soon to be king," she said as she started to bounce up and down
"Kill me now," Ben said.
"But this is funny to watch," Mal said.
"Well, I'm glad that you are amused," he said.
"This is Audrey," Ben said as he tried to move his arm away from her, but she tightened her hold.
"Princess Audrey," she corrected. "His girlfriend. Right, Bennyboo?" She asked.
Mal had to bite her lips harder to hold in her laughter. If she were to bite any harder she was going to bite her hip off.
"Yeah, no," he said, making her loosen her grip enough for him to get his arm free. "You're not my girlfriend and you know that."
"But, Ben," she pouted.
"No, Audrey. I have told you countless times that I am not interested," he said.
"Whatever," she said as she crossed her arms over her chest. "You'll come around," she said before she stomped off.
"Wow," Mal said.
"These are my parents. King Adam and Queen Belle," Ben said as his parents walked up.
The four teenagers were about to curtsy, but Adam held his hand up.
"There is no need for that," he said. "I hate being bowed to and old tolerate it during royal events and outings," he said, making them laugh.
Belle couldn't keep her eyes off Mal. She was even prettier than Ben described, and she couldn't wait to get to know her.
"You," Zeus said as he walked past the king and queen, and pointed to Mal. "Must be my beautiful niece," he said with a huge smile on his face.
Mal smiled and nodded her head. Zeus smiled and he picked her up and gave her a giant hug.
"You are even more beautiful than your mother described," Hera said as Zeus placed Mal on the ground, making her blush.
"Yeah, she is," Ben said.
"If you need anything. And I mean anything. You give us a call and we will be here as quick as lightning," Hera said. "That goes for all of you," she said pointing to Evie, Jay and Carlos, who nodded their heads.
"But, how?..." Mal started.
"I bought you guys phones and they're in your dorms," he said.
"Never mind," she said with a kind smile.
"Ben and Doug are going to show you all around, and I'll see you tomorrow. The doors of wisdom are never shut. But the library hours are from 8:00 to 11:00. And as you may have heard, I have a little thing about curfews," Fairy godmother said before she walked off with the king, queen, and Mal's family.
"It's so good to finally meet you," Ben said as he walked up to Jay and shook his hand. "I have been wanting to do this for so long and I am so excited to finally be able to achieve this dream," he said as he shook Carlos and Evie's hand.
He walked toward Mal and held his hand out to her. She placed her in his and there was a shock. Their eyes lingered on each other for a couple of long seconds before they broke their gaze.
"Doug!" Ben called, gaining the attention of one of the band members. "This is Doug," he said, turning Doug toward us.
"Hi ho," he said as his eyes fell on Evie.
"Someone's got a crush," Mal said in a teasing voice.
"Well, why don't you take a look at Evie," Ben said.
Mal looked at Evie and saw she was starting to blush, making Mal smile.
"Why don't we show you where your dorms are so you can get settled, and then we can show you around campus, then we can go over your schedules," Ben said.
They followed Ben and Doug inside of the large building.
"It was a little difficult to find your dorms on the same floor as the other students, so I had to place you on the same floor as me," Ben said as he started to walk up the stairs.
"How convenient," Mal said.
"Shush, Mallory," Ben said.
Once they made it to the third floor of the dormitory. Ben and Doug showed the boys their room which was 2 down from his and then they walked to the girl which was 4 doors down.
He gave each girl a key, and Evie was the first to open the door and walk in, with Mal right behind her. Once the boys were in and Ben closed the door behind him, he rushed forward, picked Mal up, and spun her around, making her laugh. She wrapped her arms around his neck as he placed her back down on the ground.
"Hi," she said as she smiled up at him.
"Hi," he said as he put his hands on her waist. "So, what happened?" He asked, making her look up at him in confusion. "I was expecting a big warty nose, orange-haired girl, with an underbite and crooked teeth," he said.
"Well, I may have lied about a couple of those," she said.
"Which one was true?" He asked.
"My teeth are crooked," she said as she pushed out her bottom row of teeth to show him.
He laughed and shook his head. He put his thumb and index finger under her chin, making her pull her jaw back.
"They're cute, and you're still gorgeous," he said as he pulled her and connected their lips for the first time in nine years.
Mal wrapped her arms around Ben's neck, letting him beepen their first kiss. When they broke apart they smiled at each other and couldn't help the red that came over their faces.
"So…" Jay said as he walked up to Ben and Mal. "Should I give you the big brother talk now? Or later?" he asked.
"Should I be scared?" Ben asked Mal.
"Absolutely not. He is the biggest teddy bear when he likes you, and he does. Don't let him get Isle with you," she said with a laugh.
"I am going to assume Mal just told you that I'm not going to hurt you, and she's right," Jay said, making Ben and Mal look back at him. "But I will if you hurt my sister," he said, pointing at Ben.
"Jay, I have known Mal for almost half my life. I know her secrets, her passions, and everything else. I would never hurt her," Ben said.
"Good," he said with a nod before Doug passed him a brand new phone.
"M! Look!" Evie said as she pulled Mal away from Ben and pulled her toward the closet.
There was a knock at the door, making the guys look at the door.
"I am 99 percent sure that that is my parents," Ben said as he walked to the door and opened it.
Sure enough his parents were standing on the other side of the door with huge smiles on their faces. Belle pushed past her son and looked all around the goom until she heard giggling coming from the closet. She ran into the closet and then there was a squeal and a thud. Ben and the rest of the guys, including Adam rushed to the closet and found that Belle had tackled Evie and Mal to the floor, and was squeezing them with all the might she had in her small body.
"Mom," Ben said. "What are you doing?" he asked.
"I am so excited that they are here," she said as she looked down at the girls, making them laugh.
"That is great, mom, but can you please not break my girlfriend," Ben said as Belle got up and helped Evie and Mal back to their feet.
"I make no promises," Belle said eagerly as she pulled the two back into a tight hug.
"I can see your mom is very excited to see the girls," Carlos said, making Adam laugh.
"Belle has always wanted a daughter, but we got Ben instead," he said, making Ben shake his head and laugh. "She has been preparing for your guys arrival since Ben said he sent the invitations."
"Really?" Jay asked.
"Yeah," Adam said, nodding his head. "She made rooms for you at the castle, and was waiting until you guys got here to learn what your hobbies were," he said.
"I told her, but she didn't believe me," Ben said, shaking his head.
Belle pulled Evie and Mal out of the room, confusing Ben.
"Where are you going?" he asked as he followed them out of the dorm room.
"I am taking Mal and Evie shopping," she said.
"So, you're stealing my g…"
"Shush," Mal said as she turned to look back at Ben. "remember our deal," she said, making Ben pout and nod his head.
"Fine, but call me when you get back. My mom will show you how," he said.
"Okay. okay, don't get your fur ruffled," she said, making Ben laugh. "Why don't you get to know my brothers."
"Okay," he said as he nodded and watched his mom, girlfriend, and her best friend disappear.
Ben was laying in his bed, half asleep, when his phone started to ring. He turned to pick it up off his nightstand, and saw Mal was calling him. He sprang up and a huge grin came across his face. He still couldn't believe that she was here and they were finally together. This had been a dream of his since he was 9.
"Hello," he said.
"Hey," Mal said, making Ben smile at the sound of her voice. "How was the rest of your day?"
"It would have been better if I had spent it with you, but it wasn't horrible. My dad, Doug, and I showed Carlos and Jay around. Jay looked like he was interested in Tourney, so I told him I would talk to the coach into letting him tryout, and Carlos seemed interested in the computer club," he said.
"Yeah, Carlos has always been interested in techy stuff. He had found old manuals and some parts to use to make my dad's layer, and our hideout better than others on the Isle."
"That's great! What did you do with my mom?" he asked.
"She took Evie and I to the mall thing," Mal said unsurly. "It has a bunch of shops, and she bought us so many new outfits and even ones for Jay and Carlos," she said.
"Yeah, mom said that she was going to buy you guys some clothes, but I didn't know she was going to steal you 5 minutes after you got here," he said, making her laugh.
"Well, unless you send me back to the Isle, you'll have plenty of time to spend with me," she said.
"Understandable, but I can't hold your hand around school, or kiss you, or be cute with you. I know you want to be here a while before everyone knows about us, but it is going to be hell," he said, making her laugh again.
"You are going to be fine," Mal said. "But you should probably go to sleep. We have the first day of school tomorrow and the four of us have to meet with FG, early to get out schedules.
"Okay," Ben said. "I'll see you in like 30 minutes," he said.
"Well, unless you want to start sharing dreams with Audrey, I hope so," she said, making him laugh before hanging up.
Ben put his phone on the charger and layed back down in his bed. He looked up at the ceiling, and couldn't help but smile. He was so happy to see things going well. Sure it had only been a day, but he was going to make sure that nothing ruined this for him and for Mal and her friends. Mal was everything he hoped for and more. He was excited for tomorrow, even though he couldn't be lovey with Mal, he would still be seeing her around campus, and hopefully they would have classes together.
Okay! Please please please please! let me know what you think. Like I said in The Nanny, I won't be updtaing this one right away!
Until next time my lovies! xoxo GM
