The blonde ran through the deserted halls, pale green eyes glassy with tears she stubbornly refused to let fall. She couldn't believe her father would lie to her like that, she felt lost and if nothing made sense…well, except for one thing.
She didn't think about where she was going, just trusted her feet to guide her to where she wa—no, needed to go.
Her mind felt blank and she felt oddly… at peace.
Her skin tingled and everything seemed lighter and more bearable as the blonde former snowboarder was swallowed up the dark, seemingly abandoned hall. After an eternity, she collapsed into the arms of the one person she felt safe enough to cry in front of with an involuntary "Hm."
I held the small, blonde angel in my arms, rocking her and stroking her hair as she cried.
"Want me to kick his ass for you, babe?" I asked once I sensed she was calmed down enough to speak, letting my protectiveness leak into my voice. Smoke wisped gently in the air from some one's cigarette as my dark gray eyes gleamed in the half light. I smiled as I kissed and nuzzled the blonde in my arms.
She shook her head from where she was nestled in my lap and I curled my long-sleeved arms tighter around her.
"I feel… so peaceful…. like I'm right where I need to be." She murmured to herself in awe.
"You are, gorgeous." I reassured, feeling tears in the corners of my black-rimmed eyes as I shifted her so her head was on my shoulder. I allowed myself a small smile as I patted her back, humming quietly as I felt her drift off to sleep.
