Greenwich Village. New York City. Province of Waverley. 1 Month before the revolution of 2121.
Peter Truman kept a sharp eye on his brother and classmates as they made their way through the crowd. His brother Trayvon and a few of his friends from Darlington University had heard of a protest against King Maxon II and knew that they had to be a part of it. Peter had always seen Maxon II and the monarchy as oppressing the people. It was his personal opinion that a King should serve his people, they should not serve him. However, due to him being a commoner, he knew that his opinion did not mean a pinch of shit to the powers that be in Angeles. All he and his friends could do was take to the streets and make their voices heard.
On this day, they were protesting because Maxon II had issued a decree that the social security budget was being cut, including the budgets for disability and food stamps, things that the poor desperately needed. As they joined the mob of protestors, they chanted slogans that Trayvon had come up with.
"If violence is never the answer than why do the police and government use it so much?" Trayvon exclaimed as they walked through the streets.
"Stop complaining about "riots." Riots gave you 8-hour workdays, gay rights, and free speech!" Another protestor exclaimed.
"If you don't like a few days of protesting, you'd really hate twenty five years of systemic oppression and discrimination!" Peter shouted as he lifted his sign which was a portrait of Maxon II with a huge X over it. Finally, they reached the town square where Trayvon and Peter stood on a bench to address the crowd.
"When's it gonna end?" Trayvon shouted to the crowd!
"When we gonna live?" The crowd shouted back.
"Something's gotta happen now..." Trayvon continued.
"Or Something's gonna give!" The crowd exclaimed.
"Where are our leaders, where is the King who runs this show?" Trayvon asked as the crowd booed The sovereign.
"Only Princess Melody speaks for the people! Peter argued as everyone clapped. "With all this frustration at the tyranny of Maxon the merciless and his Bonitan bitch, how long until we take what is ours by right?"
"Before we cut the fat cats down to size?" His brother added as he touched his brother's shoulder.
"Death to bloody Maxon!" One protester exclaimed.
"Liberty for Illèa!" Shouted another.
"We need to mobilize..." Trayvon started to shout until he saw police officers armed with night sticks heading for them.
"They're coming for us, do we run or do we fight?" Peter asked as the mob rushed towards the cops.
"WE FIGHT, WE FIGHT, WE FIGHT!" The mob shouted as they went into the fray and began to fight the officers.
"LONG LIVE ILLÈA, LONG LIVE ILLÈA, LONG LIVE ILLÈA!" Peter and Trayvon exclaimed as they clasped hands as the cops set upon them and took them into custody for inciting the mob. In Maxon's eyes, Peter was a traitor, but in his own eyes, he was a patriot.
