An Unexpected Life
Naruto Uzumaki was always a special case. Especially considering that he wasn't even from the Wizarding World, however, that still didn't stop him from making surprising friends, and even lovers. However, his ideals of creating a peaceful world had swallowed him up, and now, after so long, he has to face the music. [Naruto x Harem]
This is a story that is not meant to be taken seriously. Far from it actually.

Chapter 1 - You want me to WHAT!?
Naruto Uzumaki could say that he had something called the 'Devil's Luck', and it either made everything that he does be either extremely lucky – like accidentally winning an entire casino's worth of money – or extremely terrible – like being hit in the dick by a stray rock that someone kicked from across the field.
However, the real kicker happened only a few days after the war against Kaguya ended, where instead of being in the middle of a war, he could finally relax in his rather rundown home and just have some peaceful moments happen. Even if he couldn't walk down the street as he would be hounded constantly by others, all celebrating and calling him a 'hero'.
If he would've been younger, he would've loved that sort of attention. However, being more mature, he realized how much of an annoyance he was.
Hell, he couldn't even piss in a public restroom anymore since he would be bombarded by fanboys and fangirls. Those people were rabid animals, and they would do anything to get their hands on him!
So, he had devised a plan. A risky one, but he was certain that his 'Devil's Luck' would come in handy.
Well, it did, but instead of it working as intended, his luck decided to intervene and somehow send him to another world all together! One that was so similar, yet so different to his own.
But, on a while – mainly because he wasn't recognized – he decided to stay. And that had been the case, as many, many years had passed since then, and during that time, he had been helping others where he can, learning about the world he was now a member of.
Yet, since it was him, it was also unsurprising to know that he had made many unlikely friends, allies, and even lovers – some more serious than others. Also, since it was, there was also the added effect of him having enemies.
But, that was neither here, nor now. As it was in a rather small, remote magical village that resided somewhere within Scotland that this story begins.
A story that has Naruto Uzumaki face the music, along with seeing all the surprises that were sure to greet him along the way.
In a rather sparsely populated tavern that was lit by candlelight, giving the area a small orange-ish glow to the room that provided the necessary warmth and lighting to the small tavern, in one of the few special booths that could be ordered, sat one man, with a small mug on the wooden table.
The man was in his late thirties, nearing his forties – but, thanks to his chakra, and his clan's vitality, he looked to be half of his age - could make a lot of heads turn from his looks, considering that he had this roguish appeal that definitely set the loins of many a woman on fire that he met in the past, along with his bright, almost golden-blonde hair that framed a strong, masculine face with very little baby fat.
However, the features that always dazzled and bewitched the women for his strong, piercing blue eyes that almost felt like a compulsion to look into them, however, they were not cold, nor calculating, they exuded this warmth that made people want to get close to him, and his interesting whisker-like markings on his cheek that always made the bolder ones want to stroke them to see if he would purr.
Whilst that last part may be annoying, Naruto had just come to accept it for a fact of life, and that he should just get used to it.
This man was Naruto Uzumaki, a man who had become rather famous actually, always known for taking down Dark Wizards and Dark Witches and either bringing them to justice, or flat out killing them if their deeds were too grave to forgive in his eyes.
However, there were rumors about him that had somehow convinced a few former Dark Witches and Wizards to his side, but were they true? No one but himself knew the truth.
Yet, Naruto was soon broken out of his little musings as two people sat before him. The very people who had contacted him via an owl and letter, in front of him was one elderly man, and one older woman, and people who he can consider those rather close to him as well; Albus Dumbledore, and Minerva McGonagall, the Headmaster and Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Albus Dumbledore was tall and thin, with silver hair and beard so long that they could be tucked into his belt. He had a very long and crooked nose that looked as if it had been broken at least twice during his long life. His eyes were also commonly described to be a brilliant, soul-piercing shade of blue – much darker than Naruto's own - and usually twinkled with kindness and mischief.
Unless he was in a more serious nature... and that was currently the case, as they were no longer twinkling, but instead, they were brimmed with confidence, and even a sense of finality within them.
Whilst many people would've been intimidated by the sight of Albus Dumbledore, Naruto on the other hand, found him to be very, very similar to Hiruzen Sarutobi, and of course, he believed him to be the kind, elderly grandfather that everyone wanted in their life, but still was able to kick everyone's ass, but he would also teach them if they asked for help.
Yet, he also understood and knew that Albus Dumbledore had his secrets, and said things that were either half-truths, or plagued with little white lies. Yet, he couldn't blame the man, everyone had their rights to secrets or have things they wanted to keep for themselves.
Shaking his head away from those thoughts, he let his eyes drag over to Albus' companion, he couldn't help but send a sly little wink and roguish smile towards Minerva, causing her to flush lightly and huff as she crossed her arms over her chest.
Minerva McGonagall was a tall, rather severe-looking, and 'sprightly' seventy-year-old woman – though, Naruto still had found her attractive and beautiful even in her old age - she had black hair which was rarely let down, and the majority of the time was combed back into a tight bun, which it was now.
She was even wearing emerald green robes that had her favorite tartan pattern. She was wearing square spectacles that matched the markings around the eyes of her animagus form, which was a silver tabby cat – which was also her Patronus. Yet, to make things even more amusing to Naruto, she was still wearing a worn, pointed hat that was nearly permanently cocked to one side.
"I see you are still wearing my gift, Minnie." Naruto spoke out, his voice was rather smooth and enthralling, however, it also held an undertone of happiness as he gazed upon the hat upon her head.
"It's not my fault I like this hat..." She murmured out with a flush still present on her cheeks as she gently picked up one of the mugs that was filled with butterbeer that Naruto had ordered a few minutes before the arrival of Albus and Minerva.
Knowing a meeting when it concerned Albus Dumbledore, he normally liked to drag things on, or when the meeting was finished, he normally liked to stay around and talk for a few more minutes.
"Naruto." Dumbledore spoke out, his voice was rather raspy in his old age, but he could hear the undertones of that grandfatherly voice that he so often used with many others.
"Albus." Naruto greeted back, nodding his head towards him, "May I ask why have you have called for this meeting?" Naruto spoke out after taking a small sip of butterbeer, whilst it wasn't rude in making that question, as he was indeed rather curious.
There was a momentary pause, as Albus looked to his left and gave Minerva a small look, the twinkling in his eyes returning as the atmosphere seemed to lighten. Receiving a nod from the aged woman, he turned his attention back to Naruto, as he placed his hands on the table and steepled his long, spindly fingers together.
"I would like you to become a Professor at Hogwarts." Albus said simply, being blunt and straight to the point.
"Oh, sure-" Naruto begun, taking another sip of butterbeer, however, it had just clicked into his mind what Dumbledore just spoke out.
Turning his head away from the duo, Naruto let out the mother of all spit takes, plastering the wall with a mess of saliva and butterbeer, forming a fist and smacking himself on the chest to help clear everything up, he looked over towards Albus, his eyes impossibly wide, "W-what!"
"I said, I would like for you to become a Professor at Hogwarts." Albus said, the twinkling in his eyes returning full force, as even underneath his large beard, Naruto could see a very large smile on his face.
Although, Minerva was looking at him with this disapproving look for what he just did.
"Surely not." Naruto said, placing the butterbeer mug down on the table, "I can't teach, I don't even have any experience in doing so." He tried to explain himself.
Albus nodded his head at that, "That may be the case." He started, before getting a mug of butterbeer and taking a small sip of it, before humming to himself as he smacked his lips, before a small wince came over his features as he placed the mug down, "That is certainly not the best butterbeer I've had in my life." He spoke out, going off topic like he is normally prone to.
"Albus!" Minerva whispered out, harshly nudging the Headmaster in the ribs.
Dumbledore gave a slight noise of discomfort as he looked out of the corner of his eye, and saw Minerva looking at him with a fierce loon in her eyes, "Oh, right, back on topic." He said simply, before looking over towards Naruto again, "You may not have teaching experience, but you do have real world experience, along with this charisma to you." He begun once again, "But, you are also someone that I trust, and I'm sure that you remember how hard it is getting competent teachers in a certain subject."
Naruto sighed to himself, nodding his head rather uncertainly as he remembered the amount of Defense Against the Dark Art's teachers that the school had trouble keeping for more than two months.
The number of different teachers that subject had was unbelievable.
"That is why I want you to become the Defense Against the Dark Art's Professor." Albus said, "I trust you, and the number of frauds that have been turning up for interviews is worrying." He added on, his eyes darkening a bit at a peculiar reminder of Gilderoy Lockhart, who just left a horrible taste in his mouth, "I would rather have you, with no teaching experience, over a fraud that doesn't know what they are doing, and potentially placing all the students at risk."
Naruto sighed in annoyance as he leaned back in his chair, his mind racing through with various thoughts, positives and negatives to the idea of becoming a Professor.
"If I may." Minerva spoke up, garnering the curious eyes of Dumbledore, and snapping Naruto out of his little funk, "Whilst teaching may not be for everyone, there are many positives to it, for instance, you can be the person that could become the difference for a student, whether they pass or fail, you can also be there and help them if they need help."
Naruto stayed silent for a moment as he pondered upon what had been given to him, however, he just felt like the time wasn't right for him to answer this rather big proposition, "Can you give me a few days to think about it?" He asked.
"Of course." Albus said, his beard crinkling upwards with a smile, "It is a big decision to make, and it is good that you are going to think things through." He added on, "Once you have made a decision, you can contact me, I'm sure you know how to." The twinkling in his eyes never stopped as he through that small jab at Naruto.
"Not funny, old man." Naruto murmured out, a rather old memory that can still embarrass him to this day, and Albus always made sure to remind him of it.
As Albus and Minerva got up, Naruto could see that she had something that she really wanted to talk about, however, it quickly died down in her throat as she turned and walked away.
"You know-" Albus suddenly spoke out, glancing towards Naruto, "-she misses you greatly, she really hasn't been the same since you left and risked your life all those years ago. I know for a fact, that she, and a select few will enjoy seeing you again." He added on before, before he stopped suddenly, "Oh, and there might be a few surprises waiting for you at Hogwarts." He added on slyly, throwing in a small teasing wink at him.
With that, Albus left the small tavern, leaving Naruto by himself. Sighing to himself once more, he grabbed his nearly empty butterbeer mug and took a large swig of it, 'What did he mean by surprises?' He thought to himself.
