Jubal and Maggie had really enjoyed lunch yesterday with Ian and Jenny, it had been really nice for them to spend some time away from the office and not have to hide that they were dating or living together. Ian had really enjoyed it, he realised how much Jubal and Maggie trusted him when they were completely themselves in front of him. He may have had fun joking and teasing them but the fact they trusted him so much really did mean so much to him. After the crazy whirlwind of the last case and the drama with Rina Jubal and Maggie were more than happy to have an early night.

Maggie was in a deep sleep when she heard Jubal's phone, she really had no idea how he could sleep through it, this wasn't the first time that it had happened. She lifted his phone and saw Isobel's name on it so she answered it.

"Hey Isobel it's Maggie, do you want me to wake Jubal for you?"

"No it's okay, I need you and Jubal to come in as soon as you can. I need to speak to you both."

Jubal had started to wake up just as Maggie answered the phone, he could hear her talking but had missed who she had said hello to. He rubbed his eyes looking at Maggie "Who's on the phone? Wait are…"

Maggie put her hand over Jubal's mouth lightly to get him to stop talking, she knew that he was about to ask if she was on his phone. She looked at Jubal as she heard Isobel.

"Okay Isobel, we will be in straight away. Can I ask what it's about?."

"It's better I talk to you both in person. I'll see you soon."

Isobel had hung up before Maggie could reply, Jubal was nipping at Maggie's hand that was over his mouth. She sat his phone down and looked at him resting her arm on his chest, her chin resting on her hand as she took her hand away from his mouth.

"Would Rina have reported us for what happened in the hallway yesterday?."

"This really how you are going to say good morning?" Jubal raised an eyebrow playfully.

Maggie shook her head laughing and leaned up kissing him softly "Good morning, now answer the question."

Jubal shook his head laughing "You are far too sweet to me baby. I don't think she would why? And why were you answering my phone?."

"I answered your phone because it woke me and I saw that it was Isobel. She want's to see us in her office as soon as possible and she wouldn't say why just that it was better if she spoke to us in person."

Jubal ran his fingers through Maggie's hair slowly as he could see the worry on her face "Hey, whatever it is we can face together don't worry, but we should definitely go. Isobel obviously wants this to be before the others are in." He leaned down stealing a quick kiss from Maggie.

They both got up and took turns in the bathroom getting ready, the journey to work was quiet. Jubal could tell that Maggie was worried that Rina had made a complaint about them and as much as he wanted to tell her that everything was okay he honestly had no idea what Isobel wanted to see them about. The JOC was almost empty except for two analysts working on something on the computers in the back. Jubal stopped outside Isobel's office and he squeezed Maggie's hand gently.

"Hey no matter what this is about we have each other."

Maggie nodded as she squeezed Jubal's hand gently, Jubal knocked Isobel's door and he opened it stepping in,

"Hey, you wanted to see me and Maggie?."

Isobel sat down her pen and smiled nodding at Jubal "I do, come in." Isobel waited until they both sat down across from her "I'm just going to come straight out with it, the ADIC contacted me last night and called me in for an early meeting this morning. Maggie they want you for an undercover assignment."

"They what…why?" Maggie was in complete shock this was not what she was expecting, she was convinced that this was something to do with Rina.

Jubal chuckled softly at Maggie's reaction and Isobel's confusion "Sorry, we both thought you were calling us in here for something to do with Rina."

Isobel shook her head "No, Agent Trenholm knows better than to report you both. I just thought this was better to explain in person than to try and explain over the phone. I am not sure how long the assignment would be for, that all depends on what you can gather and how quickly."

Maggie was still trying to process what Isobel was saying, this really wasn't what she was expecting "Do you know what the assignment is?."

Isobel took out a file handing it to Maggie "You would be going in to join another agent who has already been undercover for a few months, that will be your in. It's a gang run by Victor Drake who is pimping out young girls who have either been trafficked in from out of the country or their families think they are runaways. These girls are also acting as drug dealers for him when they go out on jobs."

Jubal was a little confused as he looked at Isobel "Why am I being read in on the case? This is going to be handled by a special unit."

"I have spoken to the ADIC and told him that before I brought this to Maggie that I wanted the approval that you would be Maggie's contact agent on this assignment."

"That way I can still see and talk to her."

Isobel nodded "I thought this might be a little easier on you both if you could still see and speak to each other when possible."

Maggie was reading over the file that Isobel had handed her but she was also listening to what she had said to jubal. She lifted her head looking at Isobel "When do they need my decision by?."

"They need it by the end of the day, they have to move quickly as there is a position that Drake needs filled but he needs it filled quickly. Look why don't I give you two my office and you can talk it over." Isobel stood up and smiled at Maggie and Jubal as she left her office closing the door behind her.

Jubal turned to face Maggie "Talk to me baby what's going on in your mind right now?."

"This is not what I was expecting, undercover was not something I had even really thought about."

"But this has come from the ADIC directly, that's huge Mags, means they have noticed the work that you are doing here."

Maggie sat the file down on her thighs as she looked at Jubal "I also didn't think I would be wakening up this morning and deciding if I wanted to spend time without being beside you every night."

Jubal knew the JOC was still quiet and they were covered with his back, he reached out laying his hand on Maggie's on top of the file on her thighs "I think I made it clear that I hate not having you by my side at night and as much as I would rather you had a desk job where you are safe or at least be here where I can see and hear what is going on, this is a great opportunity."

"We have no idea how long this assignment could be for Jubal we could be looking at months, you really think that's something that we could handle?" Maggie knew that this was a great opportunity that she wouldn't get offered again if she turned this down, but her and Jubal had just sorted things out they were still enjoying the bliss of newly moving in together. Was now really the best time for them to spending so much time apart, could their relationship handle it.

"There is nothing that we can't handle together baby. You know that I will support whatever decision you make but know that no matter what happens it doesn't change things between us Mags. I love you and nothing will ever change that, it won't be easy and I am going to miss you like crazy but we will make it work. I'll still be right there waiting for you baby in our home when the assignment is over."

"You really think that I can do this?."

"You are more than capable of doing this baby, the ADIC wouldn't have asked if they didn't believe in you, Isobel wouldn't have brought it to you if she didn't believe in you and you know that no one believes in you more than I do."

Maggie turned her hand around under Jubal's entangling their fingers as she ran her thumb over his hand gently. She knew that she had to take this assignment, she just didn't want to lose Jubal because of a career decision, she knew he was fully supportive and would be but that didn't mean that a part of her still wasn't afraid that this would ruin their relationship.

"You think if I tell Isobel that I am going to do the assignment that she would let us both have the rest of the day off so that we can sort some things out and have time together before I have to go undercover?".

"I'll talk to Isobel, she can tell the team that we are off preparing for the assignment, but baby if you are taking the assignment you should be the one that tells OA. He would want to hear this from you not from Isobel."

"So we are really doing this?" Maggie was still apprehensive about it all.

"They are about to get the best agent that they could ask for." Jubal smiled proudly as he looked at Maggie, he really was so proud of her. This wasn't an offer that was made to just any agent and yes of course he was scared as hell as he wouldn't be there watching over her and she wouldn't have OA by her side but he knew that she could do this. Jubal pulled on her hand gently as he stood up squeezing her hand gently.

"I'll go talk to Isobel and you get ready to talk to OA I'm sure that he will be here soon if he's not already in. Hey OA will be worried about you but he will support you."

"I know you're right, you go persuade Isobel to give us the day and I'll go tell OA and then gather Kristen, Tiffany and Stuart. I want to tell them all rather than just disappear."

Jubal smiled softly looking at Maggie "It's very hard not to lean in and kiss you right now."

Maggie shook her head laughing "Keep those thoughts until we get home and then I want plenty of them." She smiled as they reluctantly let go of each other's hand and walked out of Isobel's office.
