Clark couldn't keep the grin off his face as he picked up the two drinks from the bar to take over to his beautiful brand new girlfriend Lois Lane. God she looked gorgeous tonight. Well she always looked gorgeous to be honest.

He was surprised Lois had agreed to come to this works fundraiser as a couple. She had been understandable skittish when it came to their relationship. It was very new to the both of them. He knew he had not made it easy for her. All the miscommunication and everything that happened last year.

The night had gone very well, he was stunned speechless when Lois had introduced him as her boyfriend to Tess. He suspected that was mainly a power play over Tess who despite his protests Lois was convinced she had wanted Clark ever since she came to the Planet. It only got slightly awkward when they ran into Oliver. Lois made awkward small talk with him and Ollie wasn't able to meet his eye.

Lois flashed him a smile as he handed her a glass.

They made the rounds, chatting to some of their work colleagues. Clark realised that to be brutally honest he knew nothing about his colleagues. He had pretty much stuck to Lois like a limpet every since he joined. He was quite certain Lois was the same. Going by the nickname they had for her 'Mad Dog Lane' which he would keep hidden from her as long as possible. He knew Lois had a temper and could be rude sometimes, but she was never cruel and he couldn't believe now that he had ever thought her annoying or irritating. Now these traits were part of her charm.

Lois finished her glass.

"Hey, want to get out of here" Clark squeezed her hand gently

Lois smiled "Yes" She had evidently been wanting the same.

Clark dared to put his hand round her waist as they walked over to the cloakroom.

"See that party wasn't so bad, plus all the money from the bar goes to charity, so somewhere a kid is getting a new pair of shoes all because I drank a crantini"

Clark smirked " I'm sure more than a few kids are getting shoes with compliments of Lois Lane, not that I was keeping track"

"Hey mister that was two hours and five cups of coffee ago, look I was just a little nervous, it was our first outing as kind of like a couple"

"Emphasis on the kind of, you wouldn't even let me help you with your coat"

"I held your hand"

Clark smirked "Only when you were taking hors doeuvres out of it"

Lois chuckles "Tess seemed OK when she found out her top basement reporters were dating, although not everyone was doing the happy dance when they saw us together, Ollie didn't have much to say, he left right after we got there"

"Oliver has got over bigger hurdles in his life than his friends dating" Clark said, determined not to go any further into the subject.

"Well, it is a lot to get your head around, Clark Kent and Lois Lane.. Who knew?" Lois said

"I did" Clark said without hesitation. He knew it was true ever since she disappeared for three weeks he knew, she was the one.

Lois blushed a little and smiled nervously.

"You know Lois, we could go back to the farm and take a walk, I could give you Clark Kent's tour of the galaxy."

"Smallville the only planet you know about is the one you read at the breakfast tab…"

Clark captured Lois' lips in a brief passionate kiss.

Lois' eyes opened "OK then that was PDA number four on date number five"

Clark frowned at her puzzled

"I'm just keeping track" Lois reasoned "Try not to rush in to this relationship like I've done before"

"Well Lois, there is nothing we'd be doing in five weeks that we can't do tonight"

"I know, it just this is the one, your the one I wanna get it right with, so night?" Lois said quickly

Clark smiled, he was learning so much about her, they had been officially dating for a week and he had seen so much difference in her. She was opening up to him, in a much deeper way than when they were only friends. His heart started pounding when she called him the one. But the night was young. He wasn't prepared to say goodbye just yet.

"Lois, I'm not trying to pressure you into anything, but I don't want to say goodnight yet. Please come back to the farm" Clark widened his eyes to the full puppy dog charm "I just want to spend more time with you"

"I.." God damn him Lois thought. Look at his face, she can't say no to that.

Clark watched as multiple emotions washed over her face. Before finally she came to a decision.

"OK, but no funny business" Lois warned

Clark put his hands up "Wouldn't dream of it" Which was a lie, he dreamed about it very much.

They were sitting together on the porch swing at the farm. Lois holding a cup of coffee. They talked about work, Mrs Kent and the important subject of their next date. Clark promised he would take her to the next monster truck rally.

Lois looked at her watch. 12:30

"God Clark its late, I should be going" Lois said standing up to head back inside.

"Lois, you can stay overnight"

Lois' eyes flashed "Clark I can't"

"Lois come on it the weekend tomorrow, where have you gotta be, we could have breakfast together and spend the day if you want"

"I" Grr, he had a point "You said no funny business"

Clark put his arms round her "Lois you can stay in the spare bedroom"

Lois sighed, Damn him "Alright"

'Oh god' Clark thought. He was standing in the bedroom doorway. Lois dress was hung over the door of the wardrobe and Lois was wearing his football jersey. Those long legs, and the fact that his name was printed on her back.

"God you look beautiful" Clark blurted out before he could stop himself, Lois blushed an cocked her eye at him.

Clark motored on past his outburst "Do you need anything Lois"

"Clark I'm fine" Lois said walking up face to face with him. She closed her eyes, stretched a yawned deeply, I'm just gonna go to bed now.

"Good"

Lois put her arms round him. "Thanks for tonight Clark, the starlight walk was really sweet"

"I'm glad you thought so" Clark said bending down to kiss her firmly.

They were lost together for a few moments before finally breaking apart.

Lois' breathing returned to normal.

"So you like me in your football jersey"

'Damn of course that wouldn't get past her' Clark thought

"Yes" he admitted, there was no point in lying

"That's good" Lois said coming closer to him again

Clark claimed her lips again after a few more blissful moments Lois pushed him away gently.

"Clark.." Slow down Lois

"I know… sorry Lois"

"You don't need to be sorry Clark"

"I.." He nodded "Goodnight Lois"

"Night"
