Kurt hesitantly sat down in the not-very-obscured waiting room, trying to steady his breathing from the nerves that threatened to override his body. He was shaking from sheer fear and when Blaine went to hold his hand as he sat down with him, he held it with a death grip, so Blaine became rather concerned…

"Are you okay? You're about to rip my hand off." Blaine asked sincerely. Kurt shook his head. He was scared that when he spoke nothing would come out of his voice but equally knew Blaine ought to know. "What's wrong?"

"I… I'm scared of p-planes." Kurt stuttered quietly. Blaine raised his eyebrow questioningly, trying not to smile. Kurt looked at him incredulously as he watched Blaine do this… and then Blaine burst out laughing. "What?" Kurt asked, confusion illustrated across his pale face.

"Nothing. It's just… there's nothing to worry about Kurt. Seriously, what is it about them do you not like?"

"Oh I don't know… maybe the fact we're hundreds of feet above the ground, trapped in the air. Maybe it's because my ears pop just going underwater, which makes me dizzy, let alone high in the air. Maybe it's because I'm terrified we could run out of fuel and collapse in the ocean or the middle of nowhere. Or maybe it's to do with the fact that just a month ago, I read lord of the flies where boys crashed on an island and ended up killing each other as a result." Kurt rambled and Blaine looked at him dumbfounded.

"Kurt, do you have any idea how rare any of that is? Especially the last one… And you'll be with me the whole time, as well as the entire glee club. I promise we'll get there safe and sound." Blaine soothed and drew circles on the back of Kurt's hand. He watched Kurt visibly relax his shoulders as he took a deep breath in, nodding to Blaine. The intercom rang out in the area.

"Gate 2 is now open for boarding. Please make your way safely onto the plane and enjoy your flight."

Blaine looked at Kurt and stood up, holding his hand out in front of him for Kurt to take and rise on his feet. They grabbed their bags and followed the rest of the glee club out to the plane.

Once they boarded the plane, Blaine sat on the window side so Kurt wouldn't have to look out at how high up they'll be, even if the clouds are blocking the view. Kurt took another breath in, trying to ease his nerves and Blaine looked over, reaching out to take his hand. Their fingers intertwined and a few more minutes later, the plane took off. Kurt's breathing sped up as the wheel left the runway and were now steering up towards the sky. Once the plane evened out again, Kurt felt a little more relaxed because of the smooth flying, he even, shakily, rested his head on Blaine's shoulder at one point during the flight, closing his eyes so he wouldn't have to see the plane at all. Blaine kissed his head and leaned his head against Kurt's. He knew the couple across the aisle were staring with wide eyes but couldn't care less because of the beautiful boy that laid on his shoulder, and the same beautiful boy who chose to love him.
