Mistakes Were Made

Author Notes: Well, we made it through Rod's playthrough of the new sequel to Cinderella Phenomenon, and of course some chit chatting here, some brain storming there and botta bing here's a new one shot just in time for Easter~ I do not own the game but i do love it dearly~ Here we go!

3rd PO.V

'I know how to sew, and I think it best to play to my strengths.'

When she first said that, she was full of confidence. "Calm down...everything will be fine. I can do this." As a concept making Rod something wasn't a bad idea. In general, Rod was a man of simplicity who appreciated the small things in life.

He would be happy to receive something that came from the heart then something just randomly thrown his way. And despite her strange upbringing Princess Lucette obtained many skills over the years, with sewing being the one she's mastered.

So it would only make sense that for her lover's birthday, she wanted to give him something special. This would be their first time celebrating it together, and after talking to her step sister Emelaigne, her plan seemed perfect.

Even the little comment of adding another plushy companion to mess with Rod was amusing to the pair of girls. At the time. Now that Lucette was in her room with her materials right there in front of her, the pressure was on.

His birthday is in a few days, and despite being very good at sewing, she was beginning to doubt herself. There was a sense of uneasiness as well as excitement as she walked further into her bed chambers.

Immediately she glances down at her fingers, watching with irritation as tiny sparks begin sputtering around the tips. Sighing she counts in her head, trying to regain her composure. She couldn't allow her magic to go out of control like this.

She had to relax, take one step at a time. "What should I make?" Her mind begins to wander as she collected the various colored fabrics. Grateful that the maids who collected everything for her, grabbed multiple different patterns and colors for her to choose.

"Maybe another rabbit to keep Sebby company?" A small laugh escaped her at the thought, she could easily visualize what she wanted with a small smile. Quickly she grabbed a piece of paper so she could draw a rough sketch of her design.

Using the sweetheart red plaited plush as a reference, she scribbled down notes as she vocalized her thoughts. "Let's go with black for the main body, purple for the inner ears, and tips of the limbs." And to make things a bit different she decided to give her rabbit two small white buttons.

It was cute, not necessarily complexed but a bit of a challenge considering she often didn't make stuffed animals. "There. Now...I just have to make it." Butterflies were fluttering in her stomach as she went to work.

Carefully, and meticulously she went about stitching the cloth together. Stuffing each individual limb evenly, it was like putting together pieces of a puzzle. Hours ticked by and she was gratefully left be, even by her maids.

She was glad she made the excuse that she would be focusing on her magic lessons. No one tended to bother her in fear of accidently getting caught in whatever spell she was practicing. Still, despite getting completely focused on her task, the tension and concerns she had when she first started stayed.

As a witch her powers and strength thrived on negative emotions, especially so with her being the Tenebrarum Bearer. Without even meaning to as she continued her task, she was pouring raw magic into the little stuffy. "And done."

So when she had finally finished and lifted up her gift to Rod with a smile...she was in for a surprise. "Hello." With a startled gasp, Lucette nearly dropped her now newfound creation. Practically dropping to the floor on her knees in surprise.

"Wh-what?!" The black and purple rabbit tilted her head in confusion. "This is a surprising development I'm sure, but I thank you for creating me. As well as for not dropping me." The princess could only blink a few times before sighing.

She should've known better. "Ah, you're welcome...what should I call you?" Well, there's no way she's going to give her to Rod now. Her beloved despite loving and appreciating Sebastian, often had trouble handling his chatterbox mouth.

"Seeing how I will no longer be a gift for your 'beloved' I will allow you to come up with a suitable name for me." And now it seems, she would be sharing both his blessings and grievances as her new friend could read her mind.

Lucette's brings a finger to her lip as she glances around. "A suitable name..." Before she could even think of what to do about Rod's birthday present, she needed a name. Immediately her gold eyes gazes upon her shelf of books.

An ironic, familiar title comes into view, causing her mouth to tilt slightly. "How about Jacqueline or Jaq for short?" A small hum escapes the rabbit as she grabs one of her ears. "May I inquire as to why you chose that name? I find it pleasant, but I'm curious." Before the little rabbit plush could get a reply, the clock chimes.

Midnight. Immediately Lucette furrows her brows. She didn't think it was already so late...and with the now appointed Jaq knowing exactly what her creator(and now owner) was thinking, steadily climbed from her hand to her shoulder.

"Explain while you work. Time is of the essence after all. Though I do wish for you to choose a new creature to design." It was a strange phenomenon, however considering the life Lucette has lived up until this point it wasn't the worst thing that could happen.

Actually the red haired girl found herself immensely enjoying her conversation with Jaq. It was strange how Lucette found herself already at ease with the plush, but she didn't mind in the slightest. Far from it.

As funny and somewhat sad as it may be, the royal would rather speak with her then the majority of the nobility that frequent the palace. Her nerves were practically gone, her hands were still steady and careful, but this time there was no magic bubbling to the surface.

Her second creation would not come to life this time around, much to the relief of both of them. "I must say you have an incredible talent with a needle and thread princess. I'm sure Sir Rod will be ecstatic when he receives it."

Lucette sure hopes so. She's absolutely exhausted and her hands were sore. Still, it was worthwhile as she analyzes her second attempt. Like Jaq requested she had decided to forgo the rabbit, and instead went with a white bear.

Using the small scraps of leftover purple, she makes a little outfit, and gave black little glass eyes to contrast. "I hope so." Jaq watches as her companion tries to stifle a yawn. Already she could see the sun trying to peek its way back into the sky.

"Go get some rest. I won't allow anyone to disrupt your slumber." Not really thinking, Lucette nods, barely able to stay awake in time to get under the covers. Within a matter of moments the Tenebrarum Bearer fell into the midst of dreams. "Sleep well princess."

Leaving Jacqueline to go through Lucette's entire book collection so she could brush up on her new found world's history as well as occupy herself. Hours ticked on without issue. No one, not even the maids bothered to disturb her highness. Giving both of them some peace.

"All will be well princess. Please calm yourself." Lucette bit her lip as she glanced towards her escort. "How can you be so sure?" Jaq could only chuckle as she was nestled nicely on an old tree trunk. She was at complete ease compared to the heiress who was pacing in circles.

Though considering she wasn't the one doing the gift giving it was no surprise. "If I am to believe anything you've said and thought, then Sir Rod will be happy for the gift...provided it doesn't turn to life like I did." At the reminder, Lucette winces.

Now knowing and understanding that it was her negative emotions that sparked Jaq's birth. Not that she really regretted it. But having the bear come to life right now was not the best idea. "I told Rod to bring Sebby so this way you'll be able to finally meet him."

A small hum escaped the purple and black rabbit, not really interested. She had heard of Sebby, but she was more invested in taking in the sights of the kingdom she now lived in. She spent all the time Lucette was sleeping reading through the entire bookshelf.

Marveling at the pictures and descriptions. And she was absolutely ecstatic when her owner allowed her to travel upon her shoulders to see the world for herself. So as rude as it seemed, Jaq was fine regardless of Rod bringing his plush companion.

"There you are." The moment of truth came a few moments later. As Rod appeared with a smile on his face. "Princess~ Greetings!" With Sebastian riding on his shoulder as promised. "Glad you two could make it." Lucette offers the two a smile and greeting of her own.

Though she glanced towards Jacqueline in confusion, wondering why she didn't give introductions and greet them. "Happy birthday Rod." Though considering she hasn't met them yet Jaq was probably waiting for her to properly introduce the three of them.

Or she didn't want to spook the blonde man. "Thank you." Either reason was understandable she supposed, so taking a deep breath Lucette hands him her gift. Watching in anticipation as his eyes widened in shock. "Are you replacing me Lucette?!" Before Rod could even get a word in Sebby pouted her way.

Causing her to laugh, shattering all the tension she had. "Never Sebby." Rod shoots her a wink as he pokes his long ears companion. "I don't know, I think I'd prefer a silent stuffed friend for a change." A snort escapes Jaq though neither male took notice of her.

"You know you can't lie to me Rod! I know you inside and out, and can read you're mind as easily as a book. You could never replace me." Or Lucette who went to go grab her from the tree trunk. "So I take it you like the gift?" Rod was beaming at his lover and he held the bear close to his chest.

Looking like a little kid at Viorica's store. "I love it." Lucette sighed in relief, especially when Sebby nodded in confirmation. "I'm so glad. I don't know what i'd do this time. I didn't really have a second backup plan."

It was then both boys take notice of a black and purple plush in her hands. "Second backup plan? What do you mean." With a sheepish smile, she raised Jaq gently in front of her. Hiding the red haired girl from view.

"I was originally going to give you Jaq as a gift instead but...she was given a special feature by accident." If Jaq could grin she would as she was very amused. "How do you do~" She waved her plump limb up, giggling when Lucette's partner jumped backwards.

From there, the princess turned witch could only explain what happened. Or at the very least what they assumed happened as Sebby surprisingly remained silent throughout the whole conversation. "Is something wrong Sebby?" Both humans peered towards the red plush in concern.

Even Jaq tilted her head worried. "I wish to let you know that her highness had no intentions of you feeling unwanted or left out Sir Sebastian. I apologize if I offended you in any way." He was still silent for a moment. Before staring straight on at her white buttoned eyes.

"Jacqueline will you marry me?"

The end

Author Notes: Well that was fun! Ironically enough Sen and Jin were watching me play evermore, and while Jin was in the bathroom Sen was gushing over the scene and was like what if it came to life-so some talking and roleplaying later and this lovely little one shot was born.

Another added to the roster just in time for Easter~ I'm actually surprised how little this took to type but then again i'm in absolutely obsessed with this game(even though i havent finished it yet) and its two predecessors cinderella phenomenon and locked heart~

Ok ok, that's enough of my rambling. I'll be here all day if i keep gushing. Anyways thank you all for reading this one shot. Please feel free to fav/follow/review if you liked it and would like to show support. I'll see you all next time-tchao for now.
