"Ron," Hermione said softly, tucking the hair out of his face. She was reading in a tree, and Ron was sitting bellow her at the trunk.
"Hm?" Ron said smiling, his brown eyes shimmering in the light. "Do you ever think about the war?" Hermione said anxiously, folding her book, leaving her hand creased in the center.
"Not at all really." Ron said looking up into Hermione's bushy hair. "I do." Hermione replied softly. "It's truly unfortunate how much everyone lost, but yet we gained everything. I feel horrible thinking about it." Hermione added, tucking her hair behind her ears.
"Yeah, we may have lost Fred, and our friends. But we gained each other." Ron said sighing, sitting up and eventually standing at the foot of the tree.
"That makes me feel worse." Hermione spoke silently. "Let's just drop it." Ron said helping her down from the tree.
"But, I don't want to drop it Ronald!" Hermione replied angrily. "Well your the one that brought up the bloody depressing topic." Ron replied heatedly.
"Well, at least I have the notability and the selflessness nature to care, while you are being a tolerated slime ball." Hermione shouted hotly. "Oh for Godrics sake, you know I don't understand your barbaric use of words." Ron shouted back.
Hermione giggled and Ron laughed, and yet they had no clue why they were laughing.
They then walked inside the burrow, and Mrs. Weasley served them a delicious meal, along with the newly wed Potters, whom were just visiting after they moved into their flat.
Hermione envied them greatly, Ron didn't have the nerves to purpose, or even she thinks. She doesn't understand why he won't marry her. At that thought she became bitter again.
Ron whispered something into Harry's ear, and he looked shocked. Harry laughed and clapped Ron on the back hard. Probably some inappropriate joke only the boys would get.
Hermione and Ginny exchanged glances, before giggling to themselves, as they were most likely thinking the same thing.
"Thank you Mrs. Weasley, lunch was quite pleasant." Hermione stated kindly. "Ah, it was no problem dear, and please do call me Molly.
Hermione nodded, and followed Ron, who was becoming her to join him in the garden.
Hermione joined him, and they walked slowly, Ron then takes her hands and stops in the middle of the garden outside stopping right by the Lillies.
Ron was about to speak, but Hermione interrupted him. "You've got dirt on your nose, let me get it for you." She said intensely.
Ron laughed and shoved her hand away from his nose. "No, it's good luck." Ron replied smiling.
"But what do you need luck for-" Hermione started, but her voice trailed off as Ron got down on one knee.
"Hermione Jean Granger, you asked me just now, what I needed luck for. Well it was luck I met you that day in the compartment with dirt on my nose." Ron said happily, his grin spreading up his face.
Hermione smiled sheepishly, out of breath. The Hermione Granger had nothing to say.
"And it was luck, that I had an amazing opportunity to meet you, and so with my luck of dirt on my nose will-" but he couldn't finish before Hermione screamed 'yes!' And kissed him.
Ron laughed as they pulled away. "You didn't let me finish." Ron replied smiling. Hermione laughed and motioned him to continue.
"Anyways, before I was interrupted... Hermione Jean Granger, will you make me the happiest wizard in all of Britten, and marry me?" Ron finished.
"Obviously!" Hermione shrieked. Only when Ron opened the small box it was a tea spoon instead of a ring.
Hermione looked confused but smiled anyways.
"Only to prove I have more emotional range then a teaspoon." Ron laughed, and pulled her closer to himself.
Hermione kissed him, and he kissed her back.
"Finally! Gins that's twenty gallions." Harry exclaimed. Ginny came rushing over to Harry annoyed. "No Hermione, you were supposed to be with Draco! Dang now I owe Harry gallions that we share." Ginny said annoyed.
Hermione gasped. "Draco of all people?" Ginny giggled. "We placed these bets at 13, give me a break." Ron sly glanced at Harry. Harry then returned the smile.
"Was it that obvious, me and Ron?" Hermione stated plainly. "Oh please! You two were lovesick!" Ginny laughed.
"I'm seriously happy for you Ron and Hermione." Harry said giving them both a one-handed hug. "And now I don't have to third wheel." Harry added rubbing Ron's hair.
Ginny flicked her wand and made 3 fire whiskeys fly out of the cabinet. "To the engaged!" Harry cheered holding his glass up high.
Hermione and Ron cheered with Harry and clasped their glasses together.
Hermione then paused, and looked at Ginny questioned. "Gin, were is your fire whiskey?"
Ginny smiled softly, and exchanged a glance with Harry, who smiled sheepishly. "Guess who are going to be Aunt and Uncles?" Ginny said slyly.
