"How would you feel if I called you Dad?"

Ralph asked at the apartment one night, leaning against him while playing video games.

The question took Walter by suprise. He always thought of himself more like a father then a mentor- ever since that first night in Paiges apartment, the day they met, as crazy as it sounds. He wasn't in a relationship with Paige though and he wasn't actually related to him.

Walter thought to all the times he'd fought with Paige's lovers and even his real dad. He'd made a claim to Ralph pleanty of times. Even to Paige herself when she spoke of moving away.

Walter had been smug when Tim had complained to Paige about it and Paige had responded with a Science question that Tim had been unable to answer- She'd then asked Ralph and Walter the same Science question together, which they'd answered in unison. "See." She'd said "Thats why he's Ralph's mentor".

He then realised he'd taken too long long to answer Ralph, and had totally abandoned their game. Ralph was now looking down sadly worried about the length of time for Walters reply. Walter ruffled his hair and smiled at him "It's not my decision to make Ralph. You know I love you very much but its not my choice to make.

You need to ask your Mum first." Walter said finally. Ralph smirked as he sat up and turned to Walter "Mum says it'd be up to you and me if you were in actually a relationship together" Walter nodded "That seems fair" he replied. Ralph leaned back against Walter and spoke again "Uncle Nemos said that when you kissed her in the loft Mum was affected so much she started to plan yours and her wedding in her head. He said he hopes you move your arse soon and make a move before he has to beat yours" Ralph laughed.

Across the room behind them Paige (who'd obviously been listening) spat out her drink and started coughing loudly. After turning round and checking she was alright Walter turned his attention back to the game in front of him. But not before leaning to Ralph and whispering with a smile

"Well I wouldn't want to get a beating now would I?"
