INTRO
Hi.
Before you venture any further, there are a couple of thing you readers should be aware of. Please do read all of the pre-word.
This story is already finished and up with all eight chapters. Sometime soon I will release the first chapter of The Lightning Thief remaster.
First of all, this is a complete revamp and retell of the original story, and is a AU(Duh.) and a AC (Alternate Canon). Nearly everything has been tinkered with or completely changed. I took the universe that Rick Riordan created and expanded it, fixed many plot holes, added a lot of things, and overall, in my opinion, improved it. If you don't like AUs and changing of canon, this series is not for you.
Second of all, the series in general is rated T+ to M. This universe is more mature, darker and harsher, and realistic. Necessary warnings can be found at the beginning of every chapter.
Since this colossal task of remastering this trilogy is going to take a while, I will go ahead and list randomly some changes to the universe that are not spoilers. Here is a overall list:
*The main plot has been changed, a lot(giving more info right now would be spoilers,) Percy and Annabeth are now 14 years old at the beginning of the story, while Luke is 16 years old. You can easily calculate the rest of the characters' ages, as they too have been adjusted accordingly.
*Percy and Annabeth's relationship is more of an slowburn than it was already in the original series. :)
*Some characters have been completely remastered. Everyone has a purpose, a goal and reason to exist. No more characters like Octavian whose only purpose is to be evil and be left at that, or Bianca whose only purpose is to die for the sake of Nico's character development and be left at that. They will play a much larger role. Characters like Percy had their background history changed.
*Some characters were buffed and nerfed for a more accurate and realistic depiction. Weak-ass monsters were buffed greatly, so the order at which we will meet them is greatly changed as well.
*Some characters characteristics were changed in a acceptable way for them to be overall better. No characters were "broken", as in turned into disliked OoCs. I took extra care to accurately relay each character. Also, most minor and even main characters received an big expansion to their background.
*The weapons and equipment the demigods use are revamped(Should I keep using this word? Hm, how about refurbish? Nah, that sounds boring.) Weapons like crossbows, modified flintlock pistols and muskets/rifles that shoot celestial bronze/imperial gold bullets, sabres, shurikens, maces, ballistas, flails and many more, and more detailed equipment that they would carry for a quest like a compass, flashlights, etc. I made sure that everything is completely acceptable and balanced. If this gets quite complicated, I might write a guide about it. Also, the "monsters can track down demigods using technology" rule has been removed. It quite frankly makes little sense, (what? Is the NSA filled with monsters? Well, uh—), and we will see demigods using all sorts of tech as we continue in the series.
*Many campers are given faces, identities and/or backgrounds to make Camp Half-Blood and Jupiter more lively. Camp Half-Blood will greatly be expanded as the series continue. Minor characters like Beckendorf will play a larger role.
*Some aspects of Mythology were changed, and completely new stuff was added to fit the universe better. We will learn them as we go on.
*The three demigod limit on quests have been removed to make some quests much more interesting. The prophecy now will determine how many campers are allowed to go on a quest. The minimum, not the maximum, is now three.
*Overall the stoies are much more mature, which makes their rating T+ to M, however this is not stupid stuff like porn/harems/unnecessary amounts of swearing every two sentences etc. Like I said earlier, if necessary, warnings will be found at the beginning of each chapter.
*Post BoO, and BoO, are not considered canon. Trials of Apollo never happened, instead, it has completely been replaced. Sorry! I just do not like the third series and BoO at all personally. This decision may be revised later, if so, I'll state in a future pre-word.
* Each story is going to be split into arcs.
* Since I know a bit of Latin, but I do not know Greek (Google translate can save me with the latter, but there is no translator for Latin, so I will have to rely on my basic knowledge and a dictionary), some sentences will be said in those languages. DO NOT TRANSLATE THEM for your understanding, as they are "concealed" for a reason. In time their meanings will be unlocked, and it would ruin the story (not really… but they would be spoilers) for you to translate them earlier.
* I am completely open to ideas! Let me know what you want to see changed/edited/added to the overall story. I will consider to add some. PM me/drop a comment about it. If it is highly detailed, you can send an email which you can find at my profile.
Theres probably a million other things that should probably be stated here, but I can't come up with more. A/N at end of chapters will probably be much more helpful.
Along with my other story, Better Run Through The Jungle (which is in a kind of hiatus right now because I was so busy the last weeks, and I'm afraid the I will be again in a couple of weeks, and right now I prefer to work on this project.) I can't promise a set weekly update, but I will try to add in content as much as I can.
