You are Yu Narukami, a high school student. You have just moved to the small town of Inaba. You will be staying with your uncle Dojima and your cousin Nanako.

One day while you are walking home from school, a bus suddenly stops in front of you. A man steps out and asks if anyone is injured.

You say "No, I don't think so"

You look up at him and nod. He nods back and then walks away quickly. You walk along the sidewalk for several minutes before you see a girl run down the street towards you.

She runs past me, nearly knocking me down. I don't think she noticed and continued running down the street.

You head home.

You get home and find a girl sitting on the steps. She is rubbing her knee and staring at the ground. When she notices you, she jumps up and greets you.

You wave at her.

She waves back then sees her knee. "Oh!" she says "I've twisted my knee playing tag."

You nod and say "That must hurt."

"Yeah," she says

You say "Do you want a bandage?"

She nods and you walk into your house. You dig through your medicine cabinet until you find a bandage. You tear it off the roll and walk it out to her.

She looks at it then says "No, I don't think that will do."

You think for a minute then say "I have an ice pack in the freezer. I can go get it."

"Really?" she asks "Thank you!"

You nod and head to the garage. You open the freezer and pull out the ice pack.

She looks at it ands says "Thank you," as you head back inside.

Chie goes back to her house and you don't see her for the rest of the day. The next day, you go to school and find her eating lunch alone.

She waves and smiles at you. You sit down next to her and she asks "How's your knee?"

You nod and say "It's fine."

She thinks for a minute and asks "Have you met many people here?"

You say "No"

She thinks for a moment and asks "If you had to choose between meeting one person and everyone, who would you choose to meet?"

You think for a moment and then say "Everyone."

She nods and says "I think I would too. It would be nice to know that there are others like you out there."

You nod and say "There is someone you should meet, he is in my class too."

You explain about Yosuke and Chie agrees that she would like to meet him.

The rest of the week goes by with you meeting Yosuke and Chie and eventually having them as friends.

You meet up with Yosuke and Chie for lunch.

You walk into the lunchroom and immediately spot Yosuke and Chie sitting together. When you walk over, Yosuke jumps up and says "Hey, you're not still mad at me are you?"

You say "I'm not mad at you"

Chie nods and says "Yeah, he isn't mad at you. Come sit with us." You sit down and eat lunch with them. During class, the teacher reminds everyone about the school fair that is coming up.

You say "Cool"

You walk outside with Yosuke and Chie. Chie says "I can't wait for the fair!"

Yosuke looks at you and says "You don't seem too excited."

You think for a moment and then say "I don't have much money so I won't be able to go, but I'm still going to try to find someone to go with."

Yosuke suggests that should I ask Chie if she wants to go with me. Chie looks at you and you look back at her. You both blush and nod. Chie says "I would love to go!"

Yosuke looks surprised, but happy. He pulls out his phone and says "We need to find you a cheap ticket then."

You arrive at the fairgrounds as the sun is setting. Chie looks around and says "It's not as crowded as I thought it would be."

You say "Yea"

Yosuke says "Well, let's check out the rides first." Chie agrees and the three of you walk up to the booth for the Ferris wheel.

Yosuke looks at it and says "This is the tallest one I think." Chie looks at him and says "What about the fastest?" He nods in agreement. The three of you spot a bench next to the lake in the center of the park. "Let's sit here for a bit," you say. The three of you sit down next to each other on the bench. Chie takes off her sandals and puts her feet in the lake.

You take off your sandals.

The water is cool compared to the heat that has been on your body. You wiggle your toes and put your feet back in the sandal. Yosuke does the same. Chie moves her legs to the side so that she's sitting Indian style.

Yosuke starts to talk about his family. "My dad is rich," he says.

You say "Nice"

Chie nods and agrees. Yosuke asks her if her dad is rich too. She says no and that her mom works as an assistant cook at a diner.

Yosuke asks you "How about you, do you have a rich dad or something?"

You say "My mom is rich"

Yosuke and Chie look at you. Chie asks "What does your mom do for a living then?"

You think for a moment and then say "She is a doctor."

Chie gasps. Yosuke says "No way! Is that why you're so smart?" You nod in agreement.

Yosuke looks slightly sad and asks Chie "You're not rich are you?"

She shakes her head and says "No, I'm barely getting by."

Suddenly, a girl wearing a red school uniform walks by. She looks at you and smiles.

"Hey," she says walking over. "Are you three friends?"

The three of you introduce each other. Her name is Yukiko. She says "A teacher would usually be checking this place for students, but since it's getting close to dinner time, the school should be safe."

Yosuke says "We're just having a late lunch."

You say "Yea"

Yosuke asks her if she wants to join you guys. She says that's nice, but if she gets in the middle of them fighting, it's just going to make things worse.

The four of us hang out for a bit until it gets dark. Chie says she has to get home soon. She asks you if you want to hang out again and you say sure.

Yosuke says he will see you around.

Yukiko goes home and you wave goodbye. You and Chie walk back home to your house.

"Thanks for spending some time with me," you say.

"Thanks for meeting me," she replies.

You say "Your welcome"

You get home and find your cousin waiting for you. She's watching tv as usual.

"Hey," you say walking in. Your cousin says "I made chicken and dumplings."

You sit down to eat and enjoy your dinner. After you are done, you say "I have to go to sleep now." You start to head to your room.

Your cousin says "I'll turn the tv down." You stop and look at her.

You say "Good night Nanako"

You walk into your room and close your door. You lay down on your bed and put your shoes under your pillow. You curl up in a ball and sleep for the rest of the night.

The next morning you wake up, get ready and leave for school.

A voice on the speaker says that there has been an incident and all students should remain inside the school.

As you are walking down the hall, you hear sirens. A janitor walks up to tell everyone that there was a murder outside the school. Apparently someone was killed and the killer then threw the body on a power line.

You go into class as usual and say goodbye to Chie before classes start.

After classes, you go to lunch.

You eat lunch.

You decide to just eat lunch at your desk. A couple of students walk by, one asks if you are okay. You tell them you are okay and eating lunch.

Yosuke, Chie and Yukiko walk up to me.

"Are you okay?" Yosuke asks.

"Yea," you say not looking up from your desk.

Chie says "We were worried about you at first, but when we found out it was just a precaution, we came to see if you were okay."

You say "I'm ok, thank you for asking "

Yukiko asks you if you want to hang out after school.

Chie says "I would like to hang out with you too Yu."

You say "Sure"

After school, you, Chie and Yukiko and Yosuke all go to the park.

The 4 of you sit on a bench and talk. After a while, you go on a walk.

You walk around the park for a bit until you realize it's getting dark. You head back home where you do your homework and then go to sleep.

Next day, you wake up, get ready and go to school.

You meet up with Chie.

You meet Chie at the edge of the park at school. She asks you if you want to hang out after school.

You agree and go meet her.

A little while later, you are sitting on a bench in the park.

"Thanks for hanging out with me," you say to Chie.

"Yea, it's no problem," she replies.

There is a random unplugged tv behind the bench, no one notices it. For the past hour, it has been showing a looped scene of you walking into the park.

Me and Chie walk back to my house.

I have to go home now, I'll see you at school tomorrow."

"Okay,

You go inside and see Dojima and Nanako.

You walk inside and see Dojima and his daughter watching t.v. You go up to him and ask if he needs anything.

"I'm fine Yu, thanks for asking," he replies.

You go upstairs to your room.

You walk upstairs and once you reach the top, you put on your shoes and go to do your homework.

Hours later, you have finished all of it, even the boring questions.

You sit on your couch.

You sit on your couch and think about the picture you drew of Chie.

"Maybe I should give this to Chie," you think to yourself.

Suddenly, my tv turns on, a yellow image is shown, it's too blurry to tell what it is. My tv turns off.

You shrug it off and lay down to sleep.

It's now sunday and school is over, time to get your end of the week.

First thing, you need to buy food.

You go to Junes to buy food.

You walk inside the store and look around.

It's pretty empty, most students are off until noon on mondays.

You walk over to the produce section and start looking for fruit.

You buy some fruit.

You grab a few apples and oranges and walk over to the register.

Once you have them in hand, you walk over to the exit.

You go home.

You decide to walk home, you need the fresh air.

As you walk, you think about Chie's number. You decide to text her when you get home.

Once you get home, you sit on your bed and pull out your cell phone.

You type in Chie's number.

It begins to ring.

"Hello," Chie answers.

You say "hi"

"hi" you reply.

"So, how's tricks?" Chie asks.

"Just finishing up a quadratic equation," you say with a sigh. "It's so hard..."

"I heard school's out for the summer, that's cool?" Chie asks.

You say "Yea"

"Yup, this will be the best summer of my life," you say.

"I bet you're going on some fun adventure," Chie says.
