Hey! So, I am new to this and have no clue if I am even good at writing but I guess we will figure that out soon. English isn't my mother tongue so if anyone reads this story please show me some leniency. Feel free to correct any mistakes of mine or give advice. Your reviews are gonna be a lot of help. Here we go folks!

The time was eight am. Manhattan in the morning was so beautiful. It was September so the weather was still pretty hot and the sun hiding behind the clouds waiting for the right moment to appear, was enchanting.
At least in the case of every person who wasn't a seventeen year old teenager. The three teens were waiting on the same spot as every morning for their friend, who yet again was late.
The short but well built Latin boy, holding a coffee in his hand, was staring at his watch always worried that they will arrive late for their first period. Those blue eyes of his, sensitive to the light of day, were staring at the direction from where their friend was supposed to appear any second now.
"God, does Benson has any sense of time?" He complained, as always, because punctuality was a must for him.
"Chill Barba, baby girl might need some time to fix herself up a bit." The chill tone of Fin's voice always reassuring and calming. The only thing he got in return was a deep eye roll from the Latino and a slight chuckle from the third member of the group.
The blonde southern girl with her sunglasses on, holding a light cigarette between her fingers, always rebellious, wasn't in the mood for small talk so she was just waiting patiently for the fourth member of the group to arrive. She had moved to the big city two years ago, in hopes of a better future, which had yet to come. She was staring at her two guy friends and couldn't help but wonder 'how the hell did the four of us end up so close?' Their personalities were so different it really was impressive.
She took a good drug from her cigarette and that's when her mind went down memory lane.

The bell had rang and everybody was sitting in the class that matches their first period lesson. She had a bit of a straggle finding the lab but eventually she did and got in just in time. First period: chemistry.
She found an empty seat somewhere in the middle of the lab next to a brunette girl. She was probably medium hight, she was sitting so it wasn't really obvious, with a cute nose and rich brown hair.
"Hey, um, is the seat taken?" She asked a little more awkward than she had hoped. When you are new there is always a reason to be nervous.
"Oh, hey, no it's not ,suit yourself." Said the girl with a smile so wide that revealed two straight lines of perfect white teeth. "You new? Cause I haven't seen you around." She asked always politely.
"Actually yes, I am." The blonde girl responded whilst sitting on her seat and placing her notebooks and pencils on her desk. "Amanda. Amanda Rollins." She extended her hand to the girl next to her staring right into those brown orbs of hers.
The girl who hadn't yet introduce herself placed her hand into Amanda's and shook it firmly. "Olivia. Olivia Benson." Olivia didn't miss the slight accent of her new classmate's. "You from here?" Curiosity got the better of her and she didn't stop to think that it might make her uncomfortable.
"Uh, no actually. Just moved here from Georgia a month ago." The southern accent of hers now even more obvious.
Before Olivia was able to reply the Chemistry teacher walked in and greeted the class. Amanda was acting normal, hoping that nobody would notice the newbie.
"Oh I see we have some new arrivals this year!" Said the teacher, a man in his late thirties and apparently an observant being, who loves mornings. "Please stand up and introduce yourself to the class. Tell us a few things about yourself maybe." Staring right into her two oceans he prompted Amanda to stand up.
Having no other choice she got up from her seat and started talking. "Well, hey class. My name is Amanda Rollins I am fifteen years old, I come from Georgia and I am not really a fond of the whole 'standing up and introducing myself to the class' thing." That earned a laugh from the kids in her class and the teacher himself.
"Noted Ms. Rollins. You may sit down." And she did just that.
The time past 'right quick' as they said back home. She had picked up her stuff and was ready to head out of the chemistry lab when someone placed a hand on her shoulder. She turned around to see who was it, only to face two familiar chocolate eyes looking at her.
"Good joke you cracked in there. Mr. Langford appreciates things like that." She chuckled at her own words and then her demeanor changed a bit. "Do you know anyone here?" Amanda shook her head. She hasn't managed to make any friends since she'd spent most of the past month moving into a new place and learning the big city. "Well in case I don't see you before lunch, come and meet me at the cafeteria." And there it was, Amanda blushed. She was feeling uncomfortable. Not because of something she said but because she wasn't used to people being kind.
"Uh.. sure I will think about it. Thanks for the offer, really appreciate it!" And she ran down the corridor ready for her next class.
"Rollins, are you with us?" She startled and turn to look at Fin ready to curse at him for scaring her but a voice from behind her stopped her.
"I am here! I am here!" She said breathing heavily and her heart pounding.
"Well it was about time!" Rafael annoyed as always by the delay, started walking towards the school.
The group couldn't see it because of the dark lenses that covers Amanda's eyes but she was rolling them. "Barba, ever thought going off caffeine?" She asked sarcastically and started walking among with the rest of the group still smoking.
"That would be a no. Ever thought quitting smoking?" He retorted wanting to prove his point.
"Fair enough Raf, fair enough." The group laughed and they kept walking praying to God to not be too late.
"Hey Liv, everythin' alright?" Fin Tutuola, always there to defend and protect his women.
"You know the usual." She shrugged in hopes that the conversation would stop there.
They were friends, really good ones. They new each other since they were twelve which makes their friendship a five year one, except for Amanda who was a new addition. They all new. About Olivia being the product of rape, about her mother's alcohol issues and the abuse she had to suffer every day. Many times they tried to approach the subject and each and every one of them hit a brick wall. That applied only to the guys though.
For some reason Amanda and Olivia bonded immediately. They didn't know what it was. Could have been Olivia's kindness, could have been Amanda's nice speech first day in class or none. After a little bit more than half a year of her arrival Amanda had officially become a member of the 'Fantastic Four' as they called them around the school. One day she noticed that Olivia was wearing a lot of make up something that she never seen her doing before.
Amanda new better. You wear a lot of make up either because you wanna cover acne, which Olivia didn't have or because you wanna look pretty at school which Olivia didn't care about or to cover up something that you don't want the world to see.
"Hey Liv," Amanda grabbed her gently by the arm and led her to the ladies room. Before she started speaking she checked if anyone else was with them and was pleased to find out that there wasn't. "Everything okay with ya?" She didn't wanna be too invasive so she tried to keep it light.
"What do you mean?" Benson really didn't have a clue or at least she was pretending so.
"Look, you don't strike me as the kind of girl who wears make up at school." She put up her hand to make sure that the brunette wouldn't interrupt her. "And you also don't strike me as the kind of girl who likes talking about personal stuff. So I am just informing you that I know, I am here and you can come to me whenever you want." She placed her hand on the shoulder of her taller friend and walked out giving her the space she needed.
"God you guys let a woman be!" Said Rollins in a defensive tone but with a hint of sarcasm as usual. She threw her cigarette on the street stepped on it with her foot and glanced at the only other female around.
She raised her glasses so Olivia could see the wink that the southern blonde was giving her and put them back on playing clueless.
"Rollins, that one-eighty of yours still has me wondering. How from a sweet little girl that you were two years ago ended up being such... a dude." With his hands in the pockets of his jeans Fin asked, earning himself a slim, pale elbow on the ribs from 'the dude'. "Okay, okay got the message 'Manda." He said chuckling at her reaction.
Of course Amanda had bonded with all three of them but if she had to pick favorites for her it would be her old gal Odafin Tutuola. From day one he managed to earned her trust, respect and a lot of her elbow too!
"Hey baby girl. Odafin Tutuola. Pleasure."
Those were the first words he said to her and she couldn't help but smile. She remembers thinking at the moment 'maybe the big apple holds a decent future for me after all'.
To that thought she threw herself at Fin hugging him tight, possibly suffocating, which could be the goal after 'the dude' comment. "Get yourself off of me Rollins." He tried to sound serious but it was pointless.
"Rollins, dude, 'Manda. Where did the baby girl go?" She pushed her lower lip over the upper and played sad. That was their game, always teasing each other and playing around. Rumors were going on and on about them being together but none of them were true. Was there an attraction? Absolutely. Have they been anything more than friends? Absolutely not.
"Aw look at those two!" An amused Olivia seized the opportunity to tease them.
"I know aren't they cute?" Rafael followed not missing the chance for some good old hazing.
Fin and Amanda looked at their friends and then at each other. Within milliseconds they burst into laughter and showed how pretty their middle fingers were at their friends.
"Okay guys, joking is good and fun and you know I am in for it," started Barba, "But if you seriously don't move your asses right now so we can be on time for once,I am leaving." He didn't mean it, but it was enough to get them moving.
Amanda looked at them all while they were walking down the road to 'William Rodgers'' their high school and felt overwhelmed with an emotion so deep that she couldn't quite explain.
She shook that feeling away and tried to enjoy the moment. She knew that school was going to be hard, she knew that teenagers can be cruel first hand and she also knew that going back home was going to be less than ideal so she just enjoyed that moment in heaven getting herself ready for the hell that was about to come.
Hopefully someone is gonna read this and hopefully someone is going to like it as much as I did when the idea first came in mind. There is a lot more to learn about those four. If you wanna know more, review and let me know what your ideas are!
