This is really short but I wanted to write something for this episode. If anyone has any Jamko prompts from this episode, send them my way! Enjoy!
Jamie jogged down the hallway to the last cubicle on the right, ripping open the curtains to find his wife sitting up on the gurney holding an ice pack to her face.
"Eddie," he let out after a moment, immediately walking over and wrapping his arms around her. She let out a wavering sigh as she hugged him back, laying her head on his shoulder. They let go of each other after a long minute, then Jamie gently grabbed her face, getting a look at the injuries himself.
"Damn it," he whispered harshly, shaking his head as he ran his thumb over the cut on the side of her lip.
"It hurts like hell," she informed him seriously.
"Have you been checked out yet?" he asked, letting go of her face and grabbing her hand.
She shook her head, "No. It seems like all of New York is here tonight. Witten's out there trying to get an ETA on when we can get a doctor."
"Okay," he nodded. "This was Simms, wasn't it?"
"Yeah," Eddie said softly.
He pursed his lips and sighed, "I'm so sorry, Eddie..."
"No," she immediately interjected. "Don't do that, Jamie. I know what you're thinking... this is not your fault. You didn't do this to me, Simms did."
"Maybe this wouldn't have happened if I would've handled this myself from the beginning," Jamie countered.
"Then he probably would've done this to you."
"That would've been easier to live with," he admitted.
Eddie gave him a look, "Jamie."
"It's the truth," he replied. They stared at each other for a long minute before he sat up on the bed with her, wrapping an arm around her shoulder and pulling her into him. "I love you, Ed," he whispered, pressing a kiss to the side of her head.
"I love you, too. So much."
