On the planet Krypton, home of the Kryptonians. You, Y/N L/N, a wizard from another planet, celebrating your birthday with your friend, Kara Zor-El, in a park at Argo City.

"I know. It's so unfair," she says with a frown. "You're way too mature for your age. You always have been. You know that, right? You are not a normal teenage boy."
"Yeah...I guess." You put the picture album down and look at her. "Why'd you pick me, Kara?"
She tilts her head. "Pick you for what?"

"I don't know. That's why I'm asking."

You lean in closer to Kara.

With that, an alien spaceship comes out of the clouds and flies right above your heads. It's Brainiac!

You summon your wand as fast as you can and block the blast.
But it was no ordinary blast, Y/N. It felt like you hit a wall made of solidified air. The invisible force sends you, Kara, and the street vendor's cart into the air.
"We have to go! Now!" you say and stand up, helping the cart merchant to his feet.
Meteor showers begin crashing onto the entire planet. From those crash sites came the robots, ravaging across the city. The sounds of bombs and gunshots fill the air as you see tanks exploding all across the city.
"THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!" you hear a soldier shout.
You take Kara's hand and run with her through the chaos. A group of officers are firing their guns at a robot, to no avail. You zap the machine with a bolt of lightning, toppling it over.
"Thanks, kid," one of them says. "You'd better get the hell out of here. We'll hold them off."
You nod and keep running, with Kara by your side. She's terrified and clutching your hand for dear life. "How'd you do that? How'd you knock over that thing?"
"Long story." The two of you push past a large group of people and run down the street. Then you're met by a dozen of Brainiac's robots. "Run Kara! I'll stall them! Run back to your place, I'll meet up with you!"
"No! I won't leave you!"
"KARA, GO! I'll be fine! Now go!" She hesitates, but seeing the determination in your eyes, she gives in. "Run Kara! I love you," you say.
"I love you too!," she says and runs off.
You turn back around to the horde of robots. You take a deep breath, unclench your fists, and walk towards them with a smirk on your face.
"Bring it on, tin cans, let's do this. I ain't goin out like some scared little pig farmer. Just add my skull to your collection."
You flick your wand at them. A lightning bolt comes out and hits the line of robots, destroying a few of them. The rest shoot at you with their laser cannons. You block each one with your lightning shield, but they keep on coming.
But then, they cease hostilities with you and start scanning you.
A robot knocks you out cold with its electric punch. The last thing you hear before blacking out is, "Master, I have located the target. He is in our custody."

The planet is in several pieces now. "Just think, I came, I saw, and then I shattered your home with the push of a few buttons. Pathetic really." You continue to struggle against your constraints.
"What is your name? I like to know the names of things before I destroy or collect them."
"Y/N."
Brainiac laughs. "That's a strange name for a Kryptonian. Where are you really from? What do people call you? Surely not your parents. Maybe your friends or your classmates?"
"My name is Y/N L/N, from Earth, and you're the son of a bitch that destroyed my new home." You glare at him.
"Ah, they call you Y/N L/N. That's a good name. Elegant even. It fits you." You try to lunge at him, but you are held back by the robot.
He takes your wand and has a look at it. "Intriguing... Some kind of voice or thought activated tool? I'll have to study it later. It'll take me centuries to crack this thing. But first things first."
He looks at you and you give him your hardest stare. "Your world is dead, young man. But you live on as a part of my collection. I wish to keep you... in mint condition."
Brainiac's robots take you and stuff you in a cold pod. "Begin cryo-sleep." You try to break free as the pod closes, but it's no use. You're trapped.

Kara, Supergirl, then tells you everything that has happened.
"So Kal-El is a fully grown man with super powers? He's older than me?"
"Yes. And he's kind of an ass. I thought he was nice, but he might be just as bad as Zod." She takes your hand, and you are worried she'll pull you along too quickly. "Sorry."
Kara leads you to a room where you see Batman, Kal, and Brainiac.
"My ship!" Brainiac suddenly said as he got up, his voice carrying real emotion for once – it carried anger. "You will not destroy my collection!" Brainiac yelled as he punched Batman hard enough to send the Caped Crusader flying towards the ground.
He punched Batman two more times – even as he lost energy, he was still powerful enough to knock around Batman. Superman was unable to help due to trying to power the ship – and Brainiac was not happy.
"Relinquish my ship!" Brainiac commanded, his tone still angry. You fired a bolt of lightning against his back, and he was forced down to the ground.
Batman and Supergirl deliver many blows that knock him out. Batman turns to you. "Who are you?"
You and Kara give him a quick summary.
The three of you slowly walked around the ship, heading towards Superman. He was still connected to the ship – and both Batman and Supergirl were concerned. "We need to get you out of there!" Batman said, hoping it wasn't already too late.
"Not. Yet. The cities –"
While you guys were battling Brainiac, Superman had his attention on Earth's cities. He was going to restore them himself – no matter how much of his brain power had to go into it. And then he could sense it – several cities were vanishing from the collection. The parts of Gotham and many others that had been taken by Brainiac were being restored. Superman was happy with his success – but not everything was going according to plan. Some of the cities, like Metropolis and Coast City…something was going wrong.
Hal, Barry, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Black Adam all arrived onto the central floor – and they saw what Superman was doing.
Then they saw you. just when you're about to explain, Superman couldn't handle the pain anymore – and collapsed onto the ground. Wonder Woman and Supergirl rushed to his aid.
"You're okay!" Wonder Woman said joyfully.
Aquaman was happy as well. "I thought it was too late, but…I can feel the heartbeat of Atlantis. Brainiac's work is undone."
"Not all of it. I couldn't save everyone." Superman said, his tone regretful.
Batman observed Brainiac's collection. "Some cities are still in the collection. Others were lost – wiped from the ship's memory. Metropolis, Coast City…"
Though he didn't show it, those words hit Hal like a ton of bricks. He was horrified at the thought. He thought of his brother, his sister-in-law, his niece and nephews…and Carol Ferris, the woman he had loved for so long.
"But we can still save them, right?! Carol? My family?"
"I'm sorry, Hal." Was all Superman replied with, to Hal's devastation.
"First Krypton, now Earth. No other world should suffer like this!" Wonder Woman exclaimed, and Superman glared at Brainiac's unconscious body. He felt he knew what had to be done, and he began to approach Brainiac. Batman knew where this was going. "Clark, no." He said as he stopped Superman in his tracks.
"Even if I agreed he should die, you can't. We need him alive to save the rest of our cities."
Superman sneered at this. "No, we don't. With more time and Cyborg's help, the ship will obey me!"
"Or we could lose more cities."
"Bruce is right, we can't be sure," Barry added.
"What we can be sure of is that Brainiac puts everyone else at risk!" Aquaman yelled back, slamming his trident onto the ground.
Wonder Woman gave Batman a death glare. "This is no different than Joker. If you'd killed him, we might –"
"It was never that simple, Diana!", Batman interrupted.
Superman's rage became more visible. "Yes, it is Bruce! Don't you ever learn?! Metropolis and Coast City are all gone! How many more innocents need to die before you accept that some lives need to be taken?!"
You butt in the conversation. "Kal, I heard you killed a child so."
Batman then slashed Superman with a bladed shard of some kind– and everyone jumped back in surprise. Blood came flying out from Superman's chest, and he could only kneel down, holding his chest in pain. Then he looked at his hand – and his blood-stained glove.
"My powers? How did you –"
"Gold Kryptonite. Courtesy of Firestorm." Batman answered before Superman could finish asking.
"Get up, Kal!" Wonder Woman implored as Superman continued to kneel onto the ground.
Superman tried to get up, and Batman just stared at him. "Stay down! Enough exposure, and you'll be de-powered permanently!"
"This madness has to end, Bruce!"
You mutter to Kara. "Wow, adult Kal is a prick."
And indeed, it was about to come to its culmination. Everyone had their sides figured out – Supergirl, Hal, and Barry were going to give Batman their aid, all believing that Brainiac should be spared. Black Adam and Wonder Woman kept their loyalty to Superman and wholeheartedly agreed with him about what should be done with Brainiac. Aquaman was not fond of Superman, but decided they would also fight with him, agreeing that Brainiac needed to die.
You decide to side with Batman.
Superman got up and immediately tried to punch Batman. But he was still weakened from even little exposure to gold kryptonite, and Batman was able to dodge him. Batman slashed Superman with the shard of gold kryptonite again. The two then charged towards each other, and blocked each other's arms, giving each other the death glare. Superman knocked the shard out of Batman's hand, and Wonder Woman immediately rushes to pick it up.
It's worth a shot, so you point your wand at Superman and immediately attempt a stunning spell. A blast of red light leaves your wand and just before it hits Superman, Wonder Woman blocks it with her shield.
"You must be Y/N, Kara told me a lot about you," Wonder Woman says readying her sword and shield.

You flick your wand at Black Adam, but he blocks the spell with his own.

"You fight like a mortal," Black Adam says.
