Dragon Force

Izuku is 7 years old.

"M-mommy? Why did daddy leave?" The young boy asks his mother, as she tucks him to sleep.
Knowing the truth of the disappearing father, of his quirk less hating bias, the single mother decides to spare him the truth. "I told you, 'Zuku, your dad left for a business meeting. It's very important so it might take years for him to come back..." Her heart pained, as she knew she was just hurting him further, but the pain she felt was less important to her than her son's.

"Wow! Daddy is so cool!" The boy shouted in awe.

"Now, go to sleep. You have school tomorrow" Inko Midoriya said with tired eyes.

As the mother left the room, Izuku faced himself towards the wall. He knew the truth. He heard his mother's pleas to his father as he left the house. He heard all the old ladies gossiping when he walked into a room. He heard his mother's cries at night. He knew the truth.

"I have to become a hero! Even If I have to fight my way to the top!" Izuku said to himself, his eyes blazing in determination, "Then mommy won't have to cry anymore!" And with a goal set in stone, our hero dreamt of all the ways he could become number one.

"Wow, Izuku! You're still quirkless?" Katsuki Bakugo jeered, "What a fucking loser!" An old friend turned bully, Katsuki would repeat this line for almost every day.

"Sh-Shut up Kachann! Swearing is bad!" Our wholesome little hero cried out, "So what if I don't have a quirk! I'll become a hero no matter what!"

"Fuck off Izuku! I don't give a fuck you tell me; I can say what the fuck I want!" Katsuki shouted, and though the boy had only heard it once from his mom whilst standing behind door at midnight, and having no clue what it meant, it was still his favourite word.

"I-I'll tell your mom!" Izuku screamed out. At that moment, Katsuki Bakugo had to decide. Was his anger to Izuku or was it his fear of his mother that was stronger? No matter, he punched Izuku right in the gut.

"Shut the fuck up Izuku! You're a turd! A loser! A... A Deku!" Katsuki sneered as he left the room. After a second of empty silence, the spiky haired blonde popped back in shouting, "AND YOU BETTER NOT TELL MY MOM, DEKU!"

Izuku sat in the corner waiting for school to end, crying to himself. His burning desire to become a hero was still raging, but it also started to dim.

Izuku is 10

"Fuck off Deku!" Katsuki shouts, punching Izuku in the face, as his goons hold both arms of the green haired boy, "No one gives a shit about the homework!" A kick in the gut.

"I... was... just helping...Kiri-" But before Izuku could finish, Bakugo had filled his fist with an incoming explosion and directed it into Izuku's... private regions. The sheer pain, the utter devastation, caused young Midoriya to scream out in terror, his cries could be heard from all of Tokyo, no male could be spared the second-hand pain. The goons holding Izuku let go off the poor boy in pity and shame, even Bakugo flinched before regaining himself.

"Shut the fuck up nerd!" Bakugo shouts, before opening Izuku's bag. Ruffling through it, he finds a plain notebook titled "Hero Analysis for the Future VOLUME 4". Inside were drawings and details of numerous heroes, talking about their strengths and weaknesses. "What a freak! Look, there's even one on me! I didn't know you were a stalker Deku!" A punch to the face, "Let me do you a favour!" He lift the book up in the air, and after charging one of his fists, he slammed an explosion into the book, burning it, and leaving half of it as ashes.

"NOOO! WHY!" Izuku screamed tears in his eyes, "What have I ever done to you?" Izuku leapt up, ignoring his pain and jumped onto Katsuki, throwing him to the ground. "I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!" He repeated punching the other 10-year-old in the face. Bakugo didn't move at all, he was far too deep in shock.

Eventually, the other kids pulled Izuku off Bakugo, though no one was going to tell the teachers. Katsuki used his quirk on himself by accident. Yes, that was the story. That's why his face had blood on it. No one realised that both Izuku's eyes and fists were giving off a pale green glow.

For the rest of the school day everyone avoided Izuku like the plague. Something warded them off, as if he was being watched over by something... or someone.

Later...

Izuku entered his home, "Mom! I'm home!" No response. He walked up the stairs, until he heard sobbing behind his mother's room. He opens the door slightly, "Mo-" There was his mother hugging, an All-Might plushie, in tears.

"I'M SORRY IZUKU! I'M A HORRIBLE MOTHER! I COULDN'T KEEP YOUR DAD WITH US" She screamed through her cries, not noticing Izuku.

He ran.

Izuku ran as fast as he can, slamming the front door and with his eyes closed tearing up, "IF I DIDN'T EXIST, IF I JUST HAD A QUIRK, THEN MAYBE MOM WOULD BE HAPPY!" He ran and ran, and though he didn't know where he was going, and when he heard the sounds of cars driving. And in a moment, Izuku felt no ground to run on. "I guess, this is it. I'm dead."

But then the green haired boy noticed something. Wind hitting full force against his face. Opening his eyes, he screamed in fear. He was hundreds of meters above the air. And then he looked up and screamed even more. There, carry him in the air, was a real life, living, breathing Dragon. Its size dwarfed that of several school buses, and its wingspan was larger than two motorways combined. It's head was covered with hair, forming a long white beard. But... It wasn't like the standard dragon, the scaled monsters we know of. It was almost... ethereal. You could tell it was a dragon from its jawline, teeth and tail, but it truly did not look solid. It was sort of pale green, and had a body made of green flames, though they most likely didn't burn since Izuku felt no pain.

"L-LET ME GO! HELP!" Izuku cried, fearing for his life.

"Are you sure about that, child?" A elderly male voice rung. "It would be quite the fall"
"Y-you can talk!?" Izuku questions, "Wh-Where are you taking me!"

"Patience, soon you shall learn."

After a few minutes of flying, they had arrived miles away from rural Tokyo, in a forest where many would describe as "In the middle of nowhere".

"Wh-Who are you? Why did you take me?" Izuku questions, on the verge of tears.

"I am the King of the Spirit Dragons and last of all the dragons, Animar. And as for why I took you..." A smirk grew on his face, "Why, it is to teach you magic."

"M-magic? Do you mean quirks? And why has no one ever seen a dragon before?" Izuku said, more confused before.

"Sit down and let me explain, child." Animar comforted as he was about to being a lengthy explanation (See TL;DR at Bottom). "Long, long ago, in a land far, far, away, lied the kingdom of Fiore, a small peaceful nation of 17 million and was a place filled with magic. Found in every home bought and sold in every marketplace, for most magic is only a tool, a mundane part of everyday life. For some, however, magic was an art, and they devoted their lives towards the practice. They were the wizards, that had banded together into magical guilds to use their skills in search of fame and fortune. Many such guilds dotted the landscape of Fiore, but there was a certain guild in a certain town that soared high above the rest, one from which countless legends were born. Its name was... Fairy Tail. They appeared in many of the battles that led to the destruction of the magical world."

For some reason, the name of the guild tugged Izuku's heart. As if he... belonged. Odd.

"Inside the guild, there were mages named Dragon Slayers. They were mages taught by Dragon's themselves on how to use magic that could kill them. Of course, the magic itself was very powerful and destructive."

"Wait, that makes no sense! Why would they teach people a power that was designed to kill them!? No wonder they're extinct" The intelligent child criticized. The dragon, instead of being offended, merely chuckled.

"Well, you see, Izuku, long before the founding of Fairy Tail, and just before dragon slaying magic was created, there was a long, raging war between dragons and humans. Naturally, the dragons were winning, but there were some who wanted equality between the two races. One day, a third force was made, one made from both humans and dragons. The dragons taught the humans their magic, creating the first dragon slayers. But what the dragons didn't expect was for some of the humans to attack their draconic allies. Whilst all of them were killed, there was one who still lives today. His name is Acnologia. A man tortured by dragons, he was driven insane, but thanks to some kind dragons, he was freed and taught Dragon Slaying magic, but in a fit of madness, killed his tutors. He killed so many dragons that he, himself became a dragon."

Izuku listened in terror. Who would kill someone who saved them?

"He became known as the Dragon of Apocalypse and killed all the dragons... apart from me. Of course, there was an attempt to kill him. For example, 5 dragons and 5 children who chosen to be dragon slayers were sent 400 years into their future to kill Acnologia. In fact, most of them were part of Fairy Tail. And after many enemies, bloodshed and loss, all 5 dragon slayers faced off against the Abomination. They... did not succeed. Even with the help of their Dragon parents. Acnologia killed them all, absorbed their power, and with it, he razed the entire planet to the ground. Every trace of magic, every single creature, all absorbed and killed by Acnologia. Setting the earth back into the stone age, and a new version of humanity came to be. Alas, all creatures that had magic in them were not able to make it. Well apart from me and one other. And that was due to me using my etherious form to hide deep beneath the earth. Now Acnologia sleeps for the time being, for razing the earth required to much of his magic".

"So, you hid like a coward!" Izuku shouted in disgust.

"...Yes... I feared too much of the Apocalypse Dragon." Animar accepted in shame. "But I intend to make up for that mistake. By training you to become the Spirit Dragon Slayer, so that you can defeat Acnologia."
"M-me! Why me? Why do you think I could beat a monster when five others couldn't! Why can't you fight him! I'm quirkless! Can I even use magic?"

"I shall answer one at a time. I chose you because..." The ancient dragon started, "I simply could."
"What! But what if I was a madman like Acnologia?"

"Then I would've eaten you. It's happened before" Animar continued before Izuku could respond, "But, I saw a young boy running, tears in his eyes, and you know what I think? I think that when someone is at rock bottom, you can bring them back up to the very top. You know the phrase "It can't get any worst?" Why, I was the one who made that!"

"Wait! You made one of the most used phrases ever?" Izuku said in wonder, "That's awesome!"
"I suppose it is." Animar chuckled, "And not only that, when we were in the sky, I looked through your memories..."

"Wait what!? That's not nice to look through other people's heads!" Izuku scolded. Even a ten-year-old knew basic manners.

"I'm afraid it was necessary. What if you were a madman like Acnologia!"

"But-"

"But anyway, as I saw your memories, I didn't see an evil greater than the abomination, I didn't see a madman bent on destruction and I didn't see some monster or villain. No, I saw someone with heart of a hero. With enough spirit to drown even the most agile of men. I saw a successor."

"Th-thank you so much!" Izuku said whilst crying. For so long, nobody noticed him for anything but his flaws. But for the first time, someone actually cared. Someone thought he was worthy to be a successor to something so important. "I won't let you down!"

"I know you won't Izuku." The giant creature said softly, "Now as for you third question, it doesn't matter if you're quirkless, magic and quirks are two separate things. Quirks, are a biological evolution in the human body, but magic... well, it's magic! It flows through your being and is one with you. In fact it's better that you don't have a quirk, it makes training you far easier. Now, let us begin your training. It'll be far shorter than it usually would since I had to explain so much to you." As he starts walking, Izuku quickly notices something.

"Wait what about my second question? Why am I more likely to succeed when 5 others together could not?" Izuku asks as he starts catching up to Animar.

Animar grins at this, "Because Izuku, the Spirit Dragon Slayer is the strongest of all Slayers. Do you know why?" Animar rose to the air and floated above Izuku, wings out, making him look like an angel, "It is because whilst the Fire Dragon Slayer feeds rejuvenates by eating fire, the Spirit Dragon Slayer gets power from the emotions around him! You can channel the wrath of you friends in each attack or use their hope as a guiding light! So tell me, Izuku Midoriya! Do you accept the role and responsibility of becoming, the last Dragon slayer!"

"I-I ACCEPT!" Izuku shouted, with happiness for the first time in years. Yes, this was the beginning of something great!

"Huh, humans sure have gotten more dramatic".

Authors Notes: Thanks for reading the first chapter of Dragon Force! I understand this story has aspects which many of you may not understand since a lot of them are based from an anime called Fairy Tail, so if there aspects you don't understand, just DM me and I'll answer them in the next chapter! Also I'll be creating a poll on my profile on who Izuku will be shipped with. The options will include most of the girls in 1-A, but will also include Todoroki, Mirko and Nejire. Personally, I'm kinda leaning towards Todoroki but it's your choice. Oh and the TL;DR for Animar's Explanation (though I do recommend you read it) is:

Insane human tortured by dragon turns into dragon, kills every other dragon and takes their power, get super strong, kills dragon slayers, destroys every single trace of magic reverting humans back to stone age, now bullied broccoli boi has to kill super strong dragon using super strong magic.
