The red-haired boy lies face down on the ground, crying heavily.
"They can't be gone...they can't be..."
The droid floating next to him, 105E, can't think of what to say.
Just a few minutes ago, Elliott watched his mother Frankie and his newfound friend Mo be taken away from him, in the blink of an eye.
It happened the same way he and Frankie were taken here; both of them touched the mysterious rock that brought them here and they were suddenly launched away to who knows where.
He remembers his mother telling him: "Elliott, I'll come back for you!"
And she was gone right after that.
He wasn't sure if she'd come back for him.
He's now all alone...and he doesn't know what to do.
Elliott was an outcast his whole life, moving from place to place his whole life. He never made a best friend back on earth. After his other mother passed away when he was very young, Frankie was the only friend he had.
He always felt lonely at the many schools he's been to, but he went to them knowing he'd see his mom again at the end of the day.
This time, however, in this strange biosphere inside this ginormous spaceship...he'd head back up to the city with the knowledge he wouldn't see his mom or his friend again, or for at least a very long time.
For the first time in his life, he was fully alone.
As he was hanging on by a thread, he fell off just when he needed someone the most...in the depths of the Centrium.
His sorrowful cries turned into cries of anger. He was never one to break down like this but his buttons were pushed.
Elliott looks up from the ground and towards the droid, his face red and puffy with tears.
"Please, can you do anything to fix this?" he asks desperately.
"...Look, I'm sorry, I don't know how to fix any of this..." 105E strays away from her sarcastic attitude to calm the boy, but her efforts don't help. All they could possibly do is wait.
He knows his mother was good at moving around...and hopefully, she'll find a way to move back towards him.
Hopefully.
