A/N: Hello. I had a previous story by the same title. This is a different story. This is the story I want that previous story to be. There may be some manga spoilers. I'm changing many things so it goes in a different way. There is more to come from this. Let me know how you think they will rescue Tokoyami? Please comment to let me know. Follow to stay on top of it. I don't have a regular upload at the moment, but I can tell you this story is coursing through my veins. More parts to come.
Love, Traditional Twist.
Part 1
Hawks messed up. He messed up bad. He should have been keeping a closer eye on Tokoyami. He should have followed up with him at the Hospital. Talked with him. Thanked the kid at least for saving him. But now…
Take this as retaliation for what you did to Jin. These
souvenirs may stay with you. From your little mentee
who cared so much. Shows how little you cared.
Dabi and the League
The letter was cold and calculated on top of the b Hawks dread looking in. He lifted the lid and gasped. Inside was the bloody red choker Tokoyami wore. Black features stuck to the cloth. Something stuck out from beneath the cloth. Hesitantly, Hawks moved the cloth.
Very few things surprised Hawks. This had him almost falling to the ground. Part of him wanted to wretch, while the other side of him was fueled with anger. Wrapped inside the trad choker was the tip of Tokoyami's beak.
Hawks pulled out his phone, dialed a number, and waited for the other side to pick up. He tried to steady the concern in his voice. He could feel anger mixed with disappear bubbling in his throat. When the other line finally answered, Hawks was choking back tears.
"Get me in contact with UA. I have something they need to see."
****Earlier That Day*****
"I want revenge."
It was a short statement, but a powerful one. When it came out of Toga's mouth, the rest of the League turned to her. They had found a new place to hide. An abandoned factory with an underground laboratory hidden on an old military base. No one questioned the location. They were all just happy to have a place they could relax after attempting to upset hero society.
"For Jin-kun," Toga said. "Killing Hawks isn't enough."
The rest of the team nodded. Dabi smiled. "I know how we can hurt Hawks."
Toga leaned closer. "What do we do?"
"Simple. He took someone we care about from us. We take someone away from him."
A malicious grin crossed Toga's face. "I want to hurt this birdy. Heroes don't care about people."
"We need to check with our new boss," Said Dabi, turning his head.
In the back of the room. There a tall man in a suit with a metal face mask stood, All For One as he asked to be called. Shiggaraki floated in a tube beside the man. Plethora of tubes fed into Shigaraki. All For One looked at Shigaraki and then back at the group. "We do have time. Let's make it beneficial for us. Does this mentee have a good quirk we can make use of?"
"He took down Moonfish on his own," Compress said.
"And he is the one that took down Redestro," Spinner said.
"He does have weakness though," Dabi commented.
All For One nodded. "I think we can make use of him. Let's discuss a plan."
Toga spat out the dark icky gas as she landed behind a bush on U.A. ground. As quickly as she could she changed herself into Ochaco. Now she could walk around with little suspension. She would find this "Tokoyami" and signal to the group to bring him back with her. Then she could get revenge for Jin-kun. She just needed to get to the right dorm. She needed a person to take her to the right place.
"What are you doing, Ochaco? Ribbit."
Toga turned around to see the adorable, wonderful, Tsu. She smiled. "I knew we would be good friends," Toga thought.
Toga quickly adjusted her stature. She had to be Ochaco. "Hi Tsu."
Tsu brought a finger to her chin. "Are you feeling alright Ochaco?"
"I'm fine, really," Toga said, waving her hands in front of her.
"Then what are you doing over here by the bushes?" Tsu asked.
Toga tried to think of a way to bring up this "Tokoyami" guy. Lucky for her, another classmate seemed to be waving at Tsu and her. He was large, with blue hair and glasses. Another classmate with red and white hair followed. Wasn't that Dabi's brother? She couldn't think about that. She needed to get to her target.
"Tsu, Ochaco, hello!"
"Hi Iida. Hi, Todoroki," Tsu said.
"Hi, Iida," Toga said.
"What are guys doing over her?" Todorki asked.
"I was just walking back to the dorms when I saw Ochaco standing here," Tsu explained.
"I thought you were meeting with Midoriya," Todoroki said to Toga.
The idea came to Toga. She rubbed the back of her neck. "I was, but first I need to ask Tokoyami something. I was trying to figure out how to approach him."
"Tokoyami should be reading in his Dorm room," Iida said. "Do you need help with something, Ochaco? Anything we can do for you?"
"No, it is kind of a Tokoyami question." Toga giggled. "It's hard to explain."
Tsu ribbited. Puzzled by something. "Why did you not try going to the dorms first. It's weird to see you just standing here."
"Damn it, Tsu. You're cute, but you are making this difficult." Toga gritted her teeth and let out a nervous laugh. "I guess I'm just nervous about going and talking with him."
Tsu's expression changed to a smile. "I'll go with you then. I know you're not the biggest fan of all that spooky stuff in his room."
Toga sighed. LIttle to Tsu's thinking, she just made this ten times easier. "That would be so helpful, Tsu, Thank you."
Tsu moved up beside Ochaco and they started walking. Iida and Todoroki followed to the dorm. When they arrived, Todoroki and Iida took a seat on the couch and turned on the news. "We will see you later then," Iida called out."
The girls waved goodbye. Toga followed Tsu to the elevator. Toga noticed Tsu selected two numbers, both two and five. Did she want Tsu to leave her?
"What is it that you are asking Tokoyami about? Tsu asked as the elevator started to lift.
"Well, it's a little weird. It's kinda personal…" Toga started trying to think of something. This was becoming much more work than she wanted. It was very frustrating. She didn't know the first thing about Tokoyami. He wanted to be a hero, so she could make the assumptions that… wait.
"I understand," Tsu said. "Don't worry, Tokoyami is very easy to talk to." The door opened. "I'll leave you to it."
Toga grabbed Tsu's arm. Her eyes looked pleading. "Come with me, please?"
"Are you sure you want me to hear such a personal question? Ribbit." Tsu asked.
Toga nodded. He held Tsu close as she followed her to Tokoyami's room. Toga could keep this nervous act up. She just needed Tsu to stay with her and enter Tokoyami's room as well. This could be over so quickly. When they reached the door, Tsu knocked. She could see how nervous Ochaco was.
"I hope this isn't a very inappropriate question," Tsu muttered.
The door opened. Tokoyami stood to see Tsu and Ochaco standing in his doorway. "How can I help you?"
Tsu looked to Ochaco, then to Tokoyami. "Ochaco has a question for you. She's kinda embarrassed to say it. Can we come in?"
Nodding his head, Tokoyami stepped to the side and allowed the two girls to enter. He turned to close the door. "What is it you wanted to-" He stopped talking when he turned back to the girls.
Blood was coming from Tsu' stomach. A knife right below her belly button was being held by a melting hand. He looked to see another melting hand holding Tsu's mouth. Ochaco's face slid away revealing Toga's natural form.
"This isn't a fatal wound," Toga said coolly. "I think Tsu is too cute to die. However, I want revenge, and sometimes friends have to make sacrifices."
"What do you want?" Tokoyami asked. He didn't dare to move. He couldn't risk Tsu more injury.
"If you don't want this knife to slice through Tsu any further, then you will agree to come with me. I'm not in the mood to fight. It was exhausting just trying to find you."
He didn't have a choice. Even with the knife still lodged in place, Tsu was losing color. Tokoyami nodded his head. "I will go. Please, don't hurt her any more."
"Good choice." Toga released Tsu's mouth. She swung the girl around and lay her on her back. She placed Tsu's hand on the knife. "If that loosens you won't make it very long. Who knows when help will come.
She pulled out her phone and quickly dialed. "We're ready."
"Tokoyami," Tsu managed to mutter. Her hands were clammy. She could barely hold the knife in place. Tsu watched as a black gas spilled out of Tokoyami and Toga's mouths. The gas covered their form, bubbled, and within a few moments they were gone.
Midoriya and Ochaco entered the dorms laughing. Todoroki looked up and waved to both of them. Iida looked up and waved as well. "Midoriya! Ochaco!"
The pair waved and walked over to Todoroki and Iida. They sat down on the couch. Iida seemed very pleased. Todoroki was slightly confused. "Where did Tsu go?" He asked Ochaco.
Ochaco shared a confused look. "She's probably in her room. I really haven't seen her much today."
Iida shot Todoroki a wide eyed look. "But you were just with her. Actually," Iida's mind began to spin. "How did you reenter the building? You asked Tsu to come with you to talk with Tokoyami. We should have seen you pass here before seeing Midoriya."
Ochaco's skin whitened. "I haven't been in the dorms since this morning. And i haven't talked to Tokoyami at all today."
"Something is terribly wrong." Iida bolted down the hallway. Todoroki followed, along with Ochaco and Midoriya. Iida activated his quirk as he raced up the stairs. He made it to Tokoyami's room and pulled open the door. There he saw Tsu, barely conscious, on the floor, feebly holding the knife in place.
"Someone call the medics! It's an emergency!" Iidad Rushed in. His hand overlapping Tsu's with the pressure.
"I'll call for help," Ochaco said. She pulled out her phone and dialed the emergency number.
Todoroki and Midoriya rushed over. "I can use my flames to cauterize the wound."
"That may be our best option," Iida muttered.
"Tsu, what happened?" Midoriya asked.
"Toga," Tsu whispered. "Toga tricked me. And she took Tokoyami." The room fell into a loud rush, then silence as Tsu lost conscious.
The moment Tokoyami could breathe he was knocked to the ground. Dark Shadow covered him as he was kicked and helped him to his feet. Black Ankh form was active and ready to fight. Dark Shadow shrank as large, blue flames came into direct contact with Tokoyami. Dark Shadow tried to stay on top of his master, but the flames were too hot, long and bright, and Dark Shadow Shrank burned Tokoymai's back. He yelled out in pain.
"Stop," A deep voice said.
Dabi brought back his flames. A man in a suit stepped forward. "That was quite a unique quirk." He said.
"It can be very powerful, All For One," Mr. Compress said.
All For One nodded. "I can see how it would be useful. It appears to have a weakness to light. I assume that it must be stronger without light. This quirk could be very useful during a power outage."
Before Tokoyami could speak Dark Shadow emerged from his back. "We will never join you!"
"It talks. Incredible. I must have this quirk." All For One said.
"You can't have Dark Shadow!" Tokoymai yelled, still in pain.
"If you take me, I will destroy you! Dark Shadow warned. "I listen to Fumikage only!"
"If I take you, then You will have to obey me," All For ONe declared.
"Dark Shadow has almost destroyed me on more than one occasion. Those were all on accident. I have no doubt Dark Shadow can disobey and refuse you," Tokoyami said, getting to his feet."
All For One stared at Tokoyami for a moment. He hummed. "Your statement is bold, but true. When I look in your mind, I see your quirk truly is dedicated to you. I will need a different approach."
"I want to kill him!" Toga yelled. She pulled out her knife. "Let me stab him."
"No," siad All For One. "Death will make him useless."
"Then how do we get back for Jin-kun?" Toga demanded. "Jin-kun didn't deserve death!"
"You can not kill him," All For One restated. "I have preparations to make. I need to get the nomu transformations ready. He will be much more useful once we have his mind and him transformed."
"No." Tokoyami was too stunned to yell. He would fight. He would not be taken advantage of.
"That's fine for you, but we need our revenge," Dabi said. "We are not just going to bring you bodies.
"Can you even make a nomu without the doctor?" Spinner asked.
"Excellent question, Spinner. I never bring someone on to be dependent on them completely. It would ruin the plans if only the doctor could create the creatures."
"You still haven't said how this benefits us," Dabi said.
"I don't care what you do," All For One Said turning away. "Beat him, stab him, carve him up like a turkey. Just keep him alive. I need that quirk and that mind. His body can be broken. That will only make it easier for me." He walked to a door on the other side. "I will be making preparations. Enjoy your revenge."
Dark Shadow covered Tokoyami as the door closed. He was alone, surrounded by vengeful villains. He would need to fight for his life.
